My previous review was this: Dr. Ashley and Teacher Sal are great. The support for parents is amazing and the help is greatly appreciated but now I am saddened to say I am very disappointed with the Regional Center. I was promised an Amazon gift card for that review which I never received but more importantly, the lack of communication and disregard for our well being has been made through time. I am extremely disappointed with my case manager and fear for the others who are new to this place. Lets just say, I am looking for an attorney, any recommendations?

We just went to their take a picture with Santa event. I can never say enough good things about this place and the super friendly staff. They really do care about our kids and it shows with every single action and heart felt smile from the volunteers. The gifts handed out were great and the siblings also got gifts as well. Keep up the great work guys you are appreciated.

Very helpful place. Quick, quality service. Application is very easy to fill out. They answered all of my questions. I do recommend going in-person, as service may be difficult to get over the phone due to high quantity of clients actually at the facility.

I’m finally happy to say, I’m pleased with the services my daughter is receiving. It took a long time, however we now have a schedule...with quality services being rendered.

My review is based on my experience. Over all I would say if you can help through your insurance do so. I took my son when he was 4, I did not receive a diagnoses until he was almost 5. They told be he was approved for services and when the coordinator finally came over to see him, He said my son was too old to receive services through them. I was very disappointment. I did not know where to go. They had me back and forth, going around in circles, until someone guided me through the process of getting things done through my insurance. For the people that are being helped, I’m very happy for you. In my case, they had me on hold for too long, and led me to believe they would help my son when they didn’t. I am grateful that they at least gave me his diagnosis. Until this day the coordinator has not checked in again. It’s been 6 months. He doesn’t answer my calls.

Receptionist is very quick to transfer or not pick up at all. I’m always getting sent to voicemail. They are very slow in returning calls. They have had my sons case for quite some time and are unable to generate a report of findings. I’m at a standstill and I’m very uncomfortable with trusting this facility and it’s workers will be able to assist my child in the care he needs.

I have transferred to this regional center a couple of months ago. When the holidays came around I heard nothing. I am still having problems, they havent paid for my bus pass and they wont call me back when I call and ask them questions. We have asked for written lists of what they do.They still havent given me the list. On 4/3 I called my Regional Center worker to cancel a dental appointment. He said that he wasnt my worker anymore, he said that I was notified by mail. They dont call the clients or send anything to a post office box. To this day I still have not heard a word from the new worker. What is the job of a Regional Center Worker ?

Ive never in my life have written a review specially something so negative but I think Ive had enough. My child has been a client of regional center since she was 2 she is now 7, she is autistic but see her autism is mild so I was told by one of her many coordinators that there wasnt really much services they cant provide me. Even if its mild she should be treated for the very few symptoms she has in order for her symptoms to not get worst. I say one of her many coordinators because since she has been a client she has had about 3-4 different coordinators who manage her case plus one of them i requested for her to be change for the same reason that I was offer no help. They seem to only call u when they need you, but not when u need them. They call me once a year to conduct the reassessment a reassessment they get pay for by the insurance. And thats what they recently did her assign Coordinator call me for the reassessment I didnt answer i was working so when i could i return call and they never contact me back. This past week my daughters doctor requested for her to get ABA and OT she spoke highly of regional center and ask me to also seek for help from them to assist me in case her health plan deny her any services. Again I call them back no answer but this time I decide to also contact the supervisor and didnt answer either but I made sure i let a voicemail and complain and this happen Thursday. Friday happen and guess what I got a call. I work full time so the case worker whatever she is left a voice mail telling me that I need to get a prescription from her doctor requesting these services in order for them to contact who they needed to contact etc.... I call back I was nice Introduce self and all this case worker first response was ahuh......ahuh anymore professional! She repeated the same thing again so I ask her if she could request the prescription to my daughters doctor, from what I recall I did sign a consent form when my daughter was first assign here. And she refused to do so you mean to tell me I have to go to doctor again then to regional center and keep going back and forth. As a Coordinator/case manager for services you should be able to coordinate you should also be able to communicate with with the pcp and health insurance or any provider your client is seeing it is called and Interdisciplinary team. To top it off this person had no clue about my daughters case, even though I provided name and date of birth she didnt bother looking into it and claim she already had come to my house. FALSE. When she hasnt done so then try to throw in a smart mouth comment so unprofessional. I work for a medical group thank God I have some sort of medical knowledge so I wasnt going to wait for them to give me a call a month after so i took the initiative to call the health plan before they got to me and all I had to do was fax a paper to my daughters doctor the health plan provided me a listing of ABA centers I can take my daughter all Im waiting is for the doctor to submit the paper work. And I got her benefits so she qualifies. And no need of 3rd parties. Honestly I cnt imagine those parents who have little knowledge and dnt know what to do when times are hard and with ppl that its obvious they dont like their job and want to assist you the bare minimum. Parents please speak up. Contact you health plans your medical groups seek for help their is plenty of help. If you dnt have one yet your kids can be assign case managers through the health plan and medical group and its a big help. Dont take no for and answer.

Dont go to this place they asign u a worker but the worker doeadoe call or email u back even when u say its important also dont let regional center be it childs payee because they take ur money when u ask them to save it for a apartment if u live in a group home they only give you 136 for spending money for the month and take the rest of the money for the group home my thing is if they think that ur child should be in a group home but is high functioning dont let them cause they will only pay half and ur stuck paying the rest

Review №23

Seems all they do is use our tax $ to pay big salaries...(to themselves) to act as a referal service...and a poor one at that.At least this branch acts like they actually care. Not so with San Gabriel/Pomona office. They dont actually do much of anything but act as a middle man...which we could well do without.211, Our Community Resource Agency can be used in place of this ineffective, heavily salaried, totally overly burdening State Agency. We need to stop wasting valuable tax resources on an out-dated...obsolute system. We need to get the money and resources to the people who actually NEED the resources directly in their lives...not in dead-end salaries to case workers who never provide anything directly. The system is broken folks...and we need to fix it.

Good luck getting in contact with the person in charge of your case. If you happen to get a hold of them they say they will take care of your issue but they dont. Ahh and to top it all they will bill you even taught they said the wont. Even if your on medical then u try to contact them and they dont return their voicemails....frustrating and unprofessional.

Im still waiting. This is taking forever..

Difficult to get anyone on the telephone at this Regional Center. Difficult to get vendors assigned to your case because vendors do not want to deliver services in South Los Angeles. Difficult to get services started even after they have been approved because workers never seem to be there or because of the bureaucracy. If you live in South LA and need services for your child, you are at an extreme disadvantage relative to others in Los Angeles.

My opinion is that they do not give them the benefits that children need and I recommend that parents seek guidance to know the rights of use our children have, because of my bad experiences with the coordinators who do not offer services one.
