It was a very nice experience! I was treated with kindness and respect. The Doctor did all the exams she needed to find what was happening instead of giving me a pain killer and sending me home. The doctor gave me a diagnosis and the treatment to follow. She also explained me next steps and gave me the info of a specialist to visit!I definitely recommend this hospital!

I felt like I was not treating properly at all. I came in because Ive been fighting Covid for 8 days and was having a hard time breathing and I was fatigued plus Im pregnant. All they did was an ultrasound. No IV for liquids, no oxygen, nothing. They sent me home and said there was nothing they could do because I wasnt vaccinated and Im pregnant. I felt horrible the doctor didnt even come into the room all the way he came in twice and yelled at me from the door. Needless to say I wont be going back.

After my mom had been admitted to the hospital for 9 days, I spoke to the attending physician Dr. Hong Lee whom I’ve never met. Each day my mom spent at the hospital, I was extremely concerned for her health and life due to Hollywood Presbyterian’s ranking in Los Angeles County and the fine it received for Covid19 violations (google research). I don’t know how significant the aforementioned is and if it’s something a patient and family should be concerned about. Needless to say I could not sleep and was on edge throughout her stay at the hospital, as each time I spoke to a physician, they had no answers or diagnosis for my mom. That said, Dr. Dennis Chang was polite and took the time to explain what was going on. However, the first time I spoke to Dr. HONG LEE OVER THE PHONE, and I asked him what my mom’s prognosis was, he responded, “Not good. We still don’t know what’s wrong with your mom. She DOES NOT HAVE LONG TO LIVE.” I was frantic and even more apprehensive about the hospital. Dr. Hong Lee’s communication was very abrupt, curt, and ruthless. I complained to his supervisor about this and Dr. Hong Lee responded in a vindictive, spiteful, and unprofessional manner. As the attending physician, I was banned from calling the ICU unit to find out what my mom’s health condition was after he ordered my mom to spend the night in ICU, and was treated with neostigmine. I was told by a nurse that neostigmine can damage the heart and my mom’s ascending Aorta is 5cm dilated already, so I wanted to talk to Dr. Hong Lee first about this but didn’t receive a call back. I was told by nurse I had Power of Attorney as far as medical treatments are concerned. Instead of calling me back to discuss, Dr. Hong Lee ordered neostigmine for my mom, and instructed staff not to give me any updates as to my mom’s health condition. I don’t know if the hospital is aware of this but they should be. This much I can say with certitude and veracity. (More happens after this but I can’t say with confidence so won’t speculate. I am keeping an eye out for any harm that comes to my mom from Dr. Hong Lee and will consult an attorney if necessary. My mom has been at this 3rd tier hospital for a month and she was discharged with kidney damage, constipation was not fixed, and a severe blood staph infection. i cant comprehend how a hospital can discharge a patient with these diseases without letting me know. A different hospital has informed me of these diseases

Never, under any circumstances, go to this place. That statement is meant for my stay in the Hospital, not my experience in the ER. Other than a long wait, I had no problems once I was triaged. I felt they got me admitted to a hospital floor in a relatively short time.

Very disappointed with my treatment at this hospital. 3 different visits, First, I was rudely discharged 3 hours after I had surgery in March 2020. Second, I was discharged from ER after being diagnosed with a major concussion & fractured skull in November 2020. & Third, I was misdiagnosed & prescribed antibiotics that I am allergic to. I went to the emergency room with severe leg pain on January 9th, 2021 (Saturday) at 1:00 PM. One old security man helped me to fill up the form. He was nice and informed me to wait outside under a tent (Because of the Covid). Only few patients are there. I guess there were about 10 patients. However, I got the call almost after 3 hours around 4:00PM. Two nurses (One male and one female) were very nice and they took my details and blood pressure. Then they tell me to wait again outside of the hospital to see a doctor. Almost after one hour about 5:00 PM Ms. Nicole (PA) came. She checked me for about 2/3 minutes. However, she informed me to wait again to have an x-ray. About 5:20PM two guys came to take me to the X-ray room. They took my X-ray and tell me to wait again for the doctor. These two persons were very nice too. Finally, Ms. Nicole gave me the prescription about 5:45PM with the report. I do appreciate expertise, professionalism and good behavior of Ms. Nicole. Everyone in this hospital were nice. I was happy with their treatment even it took very long time. However, one lady security made me very upset. Actually, I became very hungry (about 5:15PM) and wanted to ask a nurse how long it would take. So, I tried to go to the ER Doctors office which is outside of the main building too. But, a lady security told me that you can not come to this place. So, I returned to my chair and was waiting again. After 2 minutes that lady security came to me and was telling me, if you go to that doctors office door again then I will kick you out from this hospital.I was having leg pain, I was waiting for so long, I became very hungry, I just tried to ask a nurse something and then I came back to my chair once the security told me to back. I was not doing anything wrong. I wonder why that security came to me again and told me such words.Just for one or two bad person, hard working of all others goes in vain. A patient can not accept such words while visiting ER of a hospital. And I am thinking if I become so ugly that I can deserve such a behave from a security. So, instead of 5 stars, this basket gets only 4 stars from me due to one bad apple.

The amount of care and effort she set forth for my loved one, as well as the time and patience to make certain we are properly educated on the matters at hand, made us realize that we were in great hands.I am not writing this because I met a Nurse who is good at her job, but because I met an outstanding human being who is an ideal representation of what a nurse should thrive to be.

All they do is keep feeding me narcotics and ice pads. Understaffed. They do not return calls. They do not offer information on all possible forms of treatment. It wasn’t until my mother was already dying that I was able to reach the main doctor. If you have to go to the ER go up the street to cedar Sinai, the service is day and night. Do not bring a loved one here, especially if they have Covid. I found a text on my mom’s phone that she would ask for water and they wouldn’t even bring it, again likely due to being understaffed.

Dr., Karapetian Thichael, my mom primary doctor at Hollywood Presbyterian hospital, is a very bad and lousy one. He always wants to send her to a nursing home despite we informed him of her difficulty in breathing. He allowed fluid buildup in her stomach when he regularly went to the nursing  home visiting her. If he is a good doctor,  he could have detected this sign early on. Now my mom is dead in the nursing home. This is because of him. This doctor should not be allowed to practice.

This hospital trip was full of the best nurses I’ve ever met. After a long sleepless night in the ER with amazing (traveling) nurse Stefan and settling into a room on the 10th floor with a diagnosis of appendicitis- I was feeling extremely overwhelmed (especially because I’m hard of hearing and didn’t have my hearing aids). That was until nurse John and nurse Evangeline came into the room. They made sure I understood exactly everything that was happening to me, exactly what my options were, and were so patient in repeating anything I didn’t hear or understand. I’ve never met two souls more perfect for the nursing profession. My partner knew I was in the best hands possible before, during, and after surgery with Dr. Cosenza and everything went swimmingly. My life was definitely touched by the incredible individuals at this hospital who cared for me so delicately when I was in such a vulnerable and scared place. Thank you, thank you- you are valued beyond measure. ❤️

I was in anaphylactic shock and couldn’t breath, but I checked to make sure it was in-network. I was there two hours, maybe saw the doctor for five minutes. Later, get a doctor bill for over $1400. They say the doctor is out-of-network! They say no ER doctor accepts out-of-state insurance. I am a federal government employee, so of course my insurance is out of state! It’s a nationwide agency!! My insurance only paid for a part of the bill and HPMC is threatening to send me to collections unless I pay $1363. I had no way of knowing the doctor was out of network and no alternative. Do not send your loved one there. If they are brought in by ambulance get them out ASAP. My son got his anoxic brain injury while in the hospital. He was there about 9 weeks. In bed the whole time. Not any kind of therapy. He was bed ridden. They transported him in a amulance in a bed to a nursing home. They didnt even tell me they were discharging him or where he was going. I found out because I called to talk to him and thats when whoever answered the phone said he left 20 minutes before I called. He was totally dependant on somebody to do everything for him. Prior to the hospital stay he was able to walk, talk, feed himself, shower, brush his teeth, do all his daily activities. Make sure you get a copy of the medical records to make sure everything said in them is the truth. I found things that werent true in my sons. Why I went with good faith and to trust that I would be in good hands being Presbyterian hospital. What a shame. Its worse than county hospital. Ill never recommend this place to anyone whos health can be in jeopardy. My life is important. Not a number . We are paying patients. And not cheap. Not a ethical place at all.

I was medically assaulted at this hospital by a nurse. Had my heart almost stopped from an over injection of drugs twice. I was mistreated and belittled many times by many staff here. I was misdiagnosed with an enlarged heart, liver cirrhosis and psychosis- when I have no valid sign of these. I had 1.5 liters of fluid in my lung and 20 liters of fluid in my body and had to return to this hospital 3 times for anyone to acknowledge and treat this. I was also punched twice hard in the face by a security guard here, then dragged, then restrained and drugged- simply for not wanting to stay in my bed! I am a lady in my 30s, and never expected to be treated this way. If you want to literally risk your life, be treated like a second class citizen and a guinea pig then go here. Otherwise, for your sake, please, please go literally anywhere else!!!!!

Worse hospital in Los Angeles. Watched them misdiagnose my girlfriend and she could’ve died if UCLA didn’t see the cyst and drain it. Also, misdiagnosed me twice from ER and sent me home untreated and now symptoms are getting worse

I was treated brilliantly and with respect by everyone from the lady in reception through to the doctor. Everyone was so kind, professional and positive. The hospital is spotlessly clean, and my waiting time was minimal. The wonderful supervisor of ultrasound is once of the most lovely people I think I have ever met!

Also the hospital provided a meal for me and it paid my parking ticket. The hospital provided me a small gift bag and a ticket voucher for taxi and case I need one for my delivery day.

I hate this hospital EMERGENCY ROOM. My mom had colonoscopy in that hospital. I took her home after the procedure and after 2 hours she was having 106.6 fever , seizure and very bad abdominal pain. We called her primary doctor and she told as go back to the same hospital as soon as possible because they have your medical records. My mom was having seizure non stop while I was driving. We went Emergency Room I explained the situation and asked help but they did not care. I kept asking help from them but stupid nurse and security were ignoring us saying we have to wait until they help all patients from waiting room. I drove all the way down to Glendale CA and asked help from Memorial Hospital. They helped us right away and admitted her.Thank you very very much to Memorial Hospital Emergency Room nurses. They saved my mom’s life. God bless all of them🙏🏻🙏🏻 IF YOU DO NOT FEEL GOOD NEVER EVER GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. That was my first and last experience with them.😡😡😡😡😡😡I wish I could give you 0 not 1 THE WORST HOSPITAL!!!!!!!!

Courtesy and time wise- 5 starsMedical help results -3-4 startsI have an impressions ANY EMERGENCY is a ‘money laundering’ or some scam places - they accept anyone, provide no treatment and can’t give the specialists referral. So it is the system fault. They got to be able to authorize patients to see specialists if any health issues are present. At least it wouldn’t be a waste of money for the insurance and some real use of them

I must confess, I was slightly nervous after reading reviews of this hospital. My experience was nothing less than perfect. I received a very kind greeting from the guard who guided me to the admitting desk. The receptionist who welcomed me was very friendly as was the receptionist who took my info. She then walked me halfway to where I needed to go to surgery since I was unfamiliar with hospital and area. The nurses, aides, surgical team and Drs. were ALL AMAZING. The hospital was very clean, and I couldnt have felt any safer and in better hands. This was my experience, and I am glad I chose Hollywood Presbyterian to have my surgery.

Delivered my baby here on August 2018. I must say, I was doubtful of this hospital due to the high amount of negative comments. But honestly, my experience here was pretty great. My boyfriend was given a bed to sleep in while I stayed there for 2 nights. The food was okay, but that didnt matter. They treated us really nice & took care of us & my baby. I guess the only thing I didnt like was that they said wed be discharged at 11 am but ended up leaving at 4 pm

This hospital, especially the ER, terribly lacks coordination, efficiency, and general professionalism. If you must come here in case of an emergency you might as well decide to die from whatever you have. I was there two different times for some medication but there were people there that were bleeding that needed stitches, people crying and screaming, people in wheel chairs... it was a refugee camp in a war zone, and on top of that the nurses and doctors were negligent and unresponsive. I am a usually patient person but if this hospital can depress even the happiest person. I highly recommend you find other options. Tonight I came in at 8pm and got out at 2am in the morning, I know they can prioritize based on pain level and emergency, but I was waiting in an empty room for a good two hours. after midnight everyone was gone. The security and the nurses almost had a smile on their faces like they were doing it on purpose. Anyway if you want people who run a hospital like a high school in a bad part of town, you would enjoy HP

Was driving and felt a weird sensation in my head (I’ve already had 1 mini-stroke so I don’t mess around) and this was the closest emergency room. It was terrible from the moment I got there. First I tried pulling up to the main ER entrance so I could run in and check in. The guy checking people in was rude and told me I couldn’t leave my car there and I had to park it on the freaking street. I could barely function and I’m shaking and numb all over and I had to move my car! Then I go back in and get checked in by a security person, not a medical professional.I waited in the ER for over half an hour without being checked on by anyone.I could be internally bleeding or stroking out for all I know and no-one has even taken my vitals.Even though it felt like I was driving under the influence, I left and went to Cedars-Sinai where I know I’ll be taken care of.Oh and Cedars got me into get an EKG not even 5 minutes after checking in.Don’t waste your very precious time at this joke of an ER.

No attending physician ever seeing her over a 3 day period4. No food for 3 days5. 82 Year old patientWhat would you do if it were YOUR relative? Thanks but no thanks your apologies are worthless like the facility that employees you

Just stay away from this Hospital. I was sandwhiched in a car accident and left in the waiting room. They said that I didnt need a x-ray cause it costs too much money I couldnt move my arm, neck and could barely walk. When I finally called my insurance I finally got an X-ray and MRI a month later to show that one of my discs of my spine is out. They denied my an x-ray and didnt bother to find out injuries that was caused by the accident. They just kept me at a waiting room. They didnt even bring my pass the ER doors. Now, Im talking about having surgery on my spine. Oh yeah. I also got a bill despite I gave them my medical insurance information. Can you just shut down if you are not going to do your jobs?

My father fell and was admitted to Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center for emergency brain surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain. The care he received was unbelievably favorable beyond our expectations. The nursing staff was excellent. Who was amazing was the neurosurgeon, JOUNG H. LEE, M.D. I have never had a doctor give me his cell phone number to call at any time, and actually answer when I did. Dr. Lee did not talk down to us with unfamiliar medical terminology. He spoke to us in plain English in a manner that we could all understand which was very comforting during a very stressful time. Not only did my father have a great outcome, the care he received from Dr. Lee was beyond my familys expectation. My father spent a total of three weeks at Hollywood Presbyterian. Although its never fun to be in a hospital, the staff and Dr. Lee made it a very favorable experience for my father and our family who visited him daily. Thank you Dr. Lee and Hollywood Presbyterian.

I have issues with both the medical care I received at this hospital and the administrations utter lack of ethics, and more than anything, its complete lack of respect for its neighbors.Lets not even talk about how this already giant hospital is trying to buy the land up around it, forcing residents out who have lived in the area for ages. I want to discuss how Hollywood Pres, a place thats supposed to make people better, is literally making those who live around it sick.As if the steady stream of ambulances on our street throughout the night werent enough, were now woken up at the crack of dawn by construction of the hospitals new parking structure. I work from home, as Im sure others do as well, and its become impossible for me to concentrate because of the noise. Its also ironic that the hospital would be erecting a garage since it has a lot with plenty of parking that none of its employees ever use. No, they park on our street -- a street with a limited amount of parking to begin with -- occupying spaces we desperately need. Cant this hospital take care of its employees? Making matters worse, the hospital has now blocked off TONS of previously open parking spots for the construction workers. Ive called the hospital to express how hard its been for those living on the street, but the hospital failed to heed my concerns and instead blocked off even more spots. So all in all, the hospital is causing its neighbors mental health issues (anxiety at never finding parking, anxiety and depression about being kicked out of our apartments and homes, and rage) and insomnia and stress (constant noise and construction in the wee hours, inability to work). Isnt it comforting to know how much this hospital cares about peoples health?I cant conclude this review without at least mentioning what horrible care I received at this hospital. I was vomiting intensely and nonstop, couldnt even stand up. A doctor saw me after 2 hours even though I arrived in an ambulance, gave me an IV, and even though I was still puking and feeling like fainting, released me without a wheelchair or checking to see whether I had a ride. I should mention that I have good insurance so that wasnt the issue. I ended up having to go to an urgent care doctor the next day who said that I was so sick I should have never been discharged. Plus this hospital is nasty from the inside -- I was seriously scared of getting staph.

I would rate this place a ZERO if I could. These nurses were very abusive and neglegant. And the staffers as well as the doctors rarely came in to see you. The last time I was there,, i was in COMA and then when I finally woke up,, they didnt even tell me why I was in the hospital to begin with. Till this day,, I dont remember why I ended up in the hospital. No one had the common decency to comfort me and tell me why I was in the hospital fighting for my life. My mom was the only one who told me that my heart stopped twice and they had to bring me back to life.. These people nearly killed me. On top of everything the nurses ignore youre every request. And when you ask them a question its like youre talking to a brick wall. And they drugged my water as well as crippling me from the waste down,, now I need a stinking wheel chair. DONT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL,, EVER!!!!!

Worst hospital ever. Nurses in recovery room after labor are so spiteful and rude. They have no hospitality. During my presence there these korean nurses were non-sympathetic towards a mothers pain and always made faces after a polite request or has been asked more than twice because of the fact that i was ignored. They dont even apologize for making me wait for something so little. (We have no access to stuff we need like gauzes medicine etc. ) Not to mention my boyfriends korean relative had picked me up and he even said that these nurses were talking negative about me after having a conversation with two korean nurses there in korean language. Take it from me you do not want to go here unless you dont care how your treated.
