I had an accidental fall and broke my jaw. The hospital referred me to Dr. Lee. His team got me in quickly for a consultation and made room to schedule me for surgery (accommodating my schedule for care). Dr. Lee was incredible. His assistant Val was amazing. Actually, everyone there has been fantastic. Easy to work with, professional and kind. Unlike many other doctors, I’ve never had to wait… follow up has been great and easy. I highly recommend their practice.

Dr. Lee is my hero, and the entire LACOMS team is just the most caring group of people. I broke my jaw (in three places) in an e-scooter accident and was feeling very anxious about whether I would ever get back to normal ... Dr. Lee and the entire group took tons of time with me, explaining the challenges and the steps toward recovery and helped me feel as comfortable as possible. My surgery was complex, and Dr. Lee provided near real-time communication and the information I needed to feel comfortable all along the way. I still have a few months to go, but he remains focused on making sure my bite is right and I have full and normal use of my jaw moving forward. I could not recommend them more. 10 stars.

Was trying to get wisdom teeth removal here and had pretty bad customer service experience. never got to the surgery itself, probably for the best. my appointment dates kept getting moved. the office often wouldnt respond to my questions/requests, and when they did they sounded annoyed when I asked about insurance and payment options, kept transferring my calls back and forth and never getting back. in the documents that they make you sign before the surgery they state that you must bring money upfront, Ive never seen anything like that in any other health care office, this seemed like a scam. the endpoint was that theyve rescheduled my surgery appointment for another week, and I already had everything arranged to be done on the date I had it scheduled originally - more than a month in advance!!! my journey with them started in early July, its October now and we never even got to the surgery. So far nothing has been done other than frustrating phone calls/ emails and a 2 minute conversation with the doctor so called consultation worth $300. stay away from this place, there are plenty of decent doctors in LA a lot more transparent operations, faster services and fair costs.

Dr Lee and Dr. Walline provided the most outstanding care one can imagine, I was so nervous about having three wisdom teeth removed at once but Dr. Lee performed an amazing job! my surgery was early in the morning and by 2:00pm I was up, ready to go for a small walk, and have a snack. My swelling, and pain was minimal almost none existent. My fiance and our family was so shocked how well I healed and how quickly. The care, service, and consideration cannot be compared; whenever oral surgery comes up I tell everybody, if you can go to LACOMS you absolutely must go!

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with doctor Lee. Doctor Lee as a member of the trauma team at Cedars Siani treated me after a severe fall which broke several bones in my face. I found his manner very comforting and reassuring both in the hospital as well as in follow up visits to his office. I feel very fortunate to have been treated by Doctor Lee.

Lovely staff, very straight forward and easy going. They took away the fear and anxiety I had from wisdom teeth extractions by walking me through the steps of the surgery and continuously checking on my recovery process after the procedure. The procedure was impressively quick and painless.

I had a fantastic experience at LACOMS. Dr.Lee and Atalle were kind, professional, and purposeful. Patty, the receptionist was outstanding as well. My procedure was complete in less than an hour and the cost was much much less than other oral surgeons. I highly recommend.

This staff is friendly, but this entire office could really stand to take a course on what is and is not appropriate to say to transgender people in a healthcare setting. It’s really not that difficult to do so. The consultation i booked was primarily to remove a tooth that was damaged in a hate crime in a bathroom, and this experience, though I’m sure the nurse meant well, brought up those painful memories in a way I wasn’t expecting and prepared for. Not a LGBTQ friendly office.Edit: The reason this office has perfect 5 star reviews is because the doctors call when a negative review is written to try and guilt the patient into taking it down. Mine consisted of a halfhearted apology with a promise that the nurse in question will get “talked to” without any further suggestion of training for the staff to prevent an incident like this happening in the future, and the rest of the conversation was like talking to a robot that could only repeat “negative reviews hurt our practice”. Don’t go to this place-imagine how many people did take down their negative experiences as a direct result of this post-review phone call. There’s something really rotten about a doctors office that tries to keep its patients from exposing what happens within. Don’t they make horror movies with that exact premise? Stay away.

I dont know how much the oral surgeon pay for a lot 5 stars reviews. But the receiption is very bad. The lady doesnt even know how to say you are welcome.

Horrible customer service. Front Desk staff are very unattentive. I had a few questions over the phone about insurance and costs of wisdom teeth removal and staff member was completely flippant. I am not sure if it was just a bad day for the office. But overall horrible customer service. Despite seeing the amazing reviews I will not be a patient here seeing how rude the staff are.

Dr. Walline was kind and professional. He answered my questions clearly and his staff was always available to discuss any of my concerns. My surgery went as smoothly as it possibly could and the results are exactly what I hoped for. After 10 years of putting off surgery I have no regrets doing it with the LACOMS team.

We felt completely secure and informed at every step of the way, in discussing, and then agreeing to the oral surgery, removing my son’s four wisdom teeth. Everyone was professional and answered all of my concerns thoroughly. They followed up after the surgery and the doctor was available and ready to help with any discomfort and follow up needs after the surgery. They treated my son with humor and respect, and listened carefully to his questions and responded to all of them. I was kept apprised of his condition throughout the surgery. I recently had my wisdom teeth (all 4, impacted) removed by Dr. Sonnischen and I’m very happy with how the entire process went. It was a little pricier than I expected but it makes sense based on their location in LA, and the quality of care from the front desk staff, nurses/assistants and doctor were flawless through every step of the process. They prepare you well, send you home with great supplies (like an ice pack head wrap!) and even follow up with you via phone multiple times after your surgery. Dr Sonnischen even gave me her personal line and told me to text or call with any concerns, which made me feel a lot more secure in my recovery. I’m very glad I chose to have this procedure done at LACOMS.

The staff was really nice and welcoming. Alex helped me out and made me feel as comfortable as possible. Another employee named Roxy went above and beyond to exceed my expectations. She genuinely embodies the qualities every good employee should have. If I could give her 10 stars I would. I never have a problem with coming to LACOMS because they truly make me love it here.

My 14-year old daughter was in a bicycle accident on Memorial weekend. It was a serious accident that left her jaw broken in 3 places. Dr. Kupferman met us within an hour of our calling him, and she had surgery the very next day, on a Sunday. In a very caring & professional way, he was able to explain to us everything that he was doing. Not only did Dr. Kupferman do a fantastic job, but all of the recommendations for subsequent procedures have been spot-on. We are incredibly grateful for Dr. K, as our daughter has made a full recovery and is doing perfectly now. She looks and feels great, and I do not know where we would be without his expertise.

I consulted with Dr. Walline on a recent trip from Canada to meet with some of the best maxillofacial surgeons in North America. Of the three I consulted with, Dr. Walline by far impressed me the most.My impression of Dr. Walline is that his chief motivation is to provide the best possible outcome for his patients, and this is amply evidenced by the overwhelmingly positive experiences of his past patients, several of whom Ive spoken with directly. When the goals of the surgeon and the goals of the patient perfectly align, you can feel confident that youre making the right choice.Unlike the other surgeons I met with, Dr. Walline was confident in his abilities but not at all arrogant. A surgeon who doesnt appreciate his limitations is a potential recipe for disaster, and I am confident that Dr. Walline is not that kind of surgeon.One of my favourite parts of our consultation was our discussion about how his practice has evolved over time. He explained how with increased experience and emerging scientific evidence he has continuously evolved his techniques and approaches. A surgeon who understands that he cant possibly know everything and continually works to learn more and implement more into his practice to improve patient outcomes is the exact kind of surgeon I am looking for. Dr. Walline is that kind of surgeon.Having said that, I do not feel that Dr. Walline is the type of surgeon to push the envelope with frankly ego-based approaches to achieving maximal or radical results that can leave patients with life altering complications and the need for revision surgery down the road. The patient experience, and not bragging rights or an interesting case study are what motivates Dr. Walline. Too many surgeons are focused on their own desires with little regard for their patients true needs.I was also impressed with the degree of technology employed in his practice, including and especially the use of imaging technology to protect the hypoglossal nerve during maxillomandibular advancement.For the type of surgery I am considering, there are a multitude of important factors to consider. Dr. Walline thoroughly touched on all of these aspects. Function, facial aesthetics, potential complications and more were all extensively discussed. I did not feel at all rushed, even though I knew of the significant constraint on his time. I was given a tempered and reasoned opinion, one that I can confidently base these important decisions on going forward. For that I am very grateful, and my consultation alone with Dr. Walline made my international trip during the COVID-19 pandemic worthwhile.

I was treated for osteomyelitis at Cedars Sinai. Dr Lee was amazing as he explained to me that I needed part of my jaw removed. He put in a titanium plate to strengthen my jaw. He made sure all my questions were answered and that I was feeling ok. They really care about their patients and it definitely shows. Kelsey worked with me on cost so that I dont experience a financial hardship. If youre looking for a oral maxillofacial surgeon, I would definitely suggest you try Dr. Lee.

LACOMS provided an excellent all-around experience, 5/5 in all categories of care.First off, their ability to assist in scheduling was a breeze over the phone as they took the time to list available times for an initial intake and for the surgery I needed. They were patient and flexible, working to accommodate me as best as possible. I inevitably had to reschedule my surgery due to work and thus it was explained that if I decided to make this change, the doctor who would be performing my surgery was different than the doctor that I met with for my intake. I understood as this was a matter of surgery schedules for each doctor.Second, upon my first arrival, the office was very Covid-conscious and check-in was still smooth. After the temperature check and basic questionnaire, there were a few forms to complete and ID verification. Shortly after, I was able to meet with my LACOMS Coordinator KELSEY ALLEN. Kelsey was extremely hospitable, respectful, and prepared to answer the many questions I had. In addition, Kelsey was able to provide an in-depth analysis of my dental insurance and the cost breakdown for my surgery as it related to total cost, insurance coverage, and out-of-pocket cost. Kelsey Allen was also very responsive and helpful in my follow-up after surgery and was able to get the appropriate documentation for the sick leave I took from work afterward.Third, the facility is in an excellent location with parking available, though they do NOT validate! The tools and technology utilized by LACOMS is high quality and reassuring as a client.Fourth, my surgery was performed by Dr. Brittany Sonnichsen with great comfort flawless care. Sonnichsen provided thorough instructions for how the procedure would take place, what would happen immediately after, and how my after-care is to be spent. Sonnichsen was also very helpful with questions I had following the surgery as it related to limitations. Dr. Sonnichsen is amazing and I have no qualms about scheduling with her or anyone else within LACOMS for future oral surgeries.This practice is excellent and all that I look for in the care of my dental health. I had double jaw surgery here in August. Primary surgeon was Dr. Benjamin W. Walline. From the introductory phase through now (recovery), the end results look great and I dont feel like I even had surgery as the only real discomfort I had was not being able to eat foods I enjoy, like fried chicken and steak.I understand that every person may experience the process a little different, but I think my experience was too perfect. The process was so efficient and the results effective, I would do it again and again. In other words, I was in good hands.

I broke my manadable in two different places front and back. The attending physician at Torrance Memorial EMT couldnt find anyone available within my network capable of doing the procedure. She was able to reach out beyond my HMO network and find Dr. Lee and his team. From the first day they consulted with me until after the surgery all I say is that they a skilled team of professionals and were able to puts my shattered jaw back into perfect alignment. I began my OMF Surgery journey with Dr. Grauer in Santa Monica who referred me to Dr. Relle (LACOMS). I cant thank him enough for the wonderful work he did for my jaw. I still have a few months left of orthodontics work but will update with photos once complete. His staff was kind, understanding, and at my side to help me the whole way through. Dr. Relle has incredible bedside manner and is truly a pleasure during his appointments. He always takes the time to answer questions and will try to fix/answer things as soon as you ask for them. Many times Id ask a question at the end of the appointment and hed take the time to research or investigate something just in that moment, instead of punting things off to his staff or to a later visit (which Ive experienced from other clinicians). I highly recommend Dr. Relle for anyone considering Oral Maxillofacial surgery.

From start to finish, our experience at LACOMS was wonderful and flawless. Insurance options were explained clearly, making the appointment for surgery was easy. Anesthesiologist called the night before to make sure we were all set and allowed me to ask any last questions, which I appreciated. Day of surgery was great — my daughter felt prepared and had no nerves whatsoever, and even woke up smiling. :) Her recovery has been easy and we were grateful Dr Lee checked up on us by text the evening of the surgery.

Came in for a consultation to get my wisdoms removed and then came back the following week for the surgery. I was a little nervous going into it but the experience was a breeze! I waited 10 years from the first recommendation by my dentist to pull out all 4 of my wisdom teeth. Now Im well into my 40s, a male. Why now, during a pandemic? Good question. Call it laziness, call it fear, maybe I needed to get it over with this year. My dentist and her team recommended two oral surgeons for the task, but I was nudged towards Dr. Brittany L. Sonnichsen by one member of the team due to her gentle approach and that I wouldnt regret it. I knew that in the end it would not matter - the pain would come. I opted to go under and deal with the results. The results, to my surprise, on a daily basis, was a whole lot of NOTHING - no swelling, no pain. Im not even sure I needed the prescribed ibuprofen. Dr. Brittany L. Sonnichsen credited me as being a good healer but no doubt she played a HUGE part of all that nothingness I was able to enjoy post-surgery. A huge thank you to Dr. Sonnichsen and her supporting cast in the surgery room and in the office. Could not have gone any smoother.

Val, one of the nurses, was extremely kind and accommodating in getting me settled in for my wisdom tooth surgery. She was calming and approachable. Dr. Lee, the surgeon, was informative and professional. He was also very efficient and the process was seamless. All of the nursing staff were also super welcoming and put my worries at ease. I would recommend this center to anyone wanting to get their wisdom teeth removed. No issues, no hassle, super friendly staff, and top notch surgeons. If I ever need a facial surgery again, this is the place I will return to!

Between the two of them, the covered every base and question we had which made us completely comfortable with our decision to move forward with the procedure. What a great team!!

It’s been 7 days since my surgery and I have no more pain, I can already eat, and my swelling has gone down. Dr. Jay Lee took out my wisdom tooth. I have never had a more pleasant experience with a doctor and his office in LA ever before. His office has a billing department that will go through with you what the anticipated costs are and were regularly available before, during and after the surgery. They were very supportive throughout the whole process and would check in on me to make sure my recovery was going okay. My dental journey has been extremely difficult, and I have had to deal with many traumatic experiences and unfriendly staff. Going here has been one of the best decisions Ive made. It was a very personal and peaceful experience. The staff is extremely generous, and I was in shock when they remembered me, after only going there once before, and for not being able to return for over a year to continue my plan due to some personal financial issues. Jacquie is the most amazing person, and she doesnt make it feel like you are just a number. She sat with me, and with no rush she had open ears and the most caring personality. She is so funny and genuine I almost forgot I was at a Drs office. She is a big reason I did not give up on my dental journey. As for Dr. Walline he has the most welcoming presence, and made me feel very comfortable. He has great communication and is really friendly and professional. You can tell he is very passionate about what he does, and made me feel very confident. I was so happy to have this amazing experience. This place is fantastic, and I highly recommend this office for anyone looking to have an all around great experience with a such a great staff!

Dr. Lee and Val were great. I broke my jaw and from the first ER visit and surgery, through the wired jaw shut process, to the removal, they were great and friendly. Explained everything very thoroughly and made sure I felt comfortable. Despite a horrible accident, they made the entire process extremely easy and bearable. Highly recommend both of them and the entire LACOMS team.

Best decision EVER! Dr. Walline took care of me and fixed my bite perfectly! I had the upper and lower jaw done and I am not gonna lie the healing was hard and I had to be patient with the process. Dr. Walline calmed my anxiety and was there for me throughout the procedure. My surgery was in November of 2011 so this review is long overdue! I cannot say enough great things about this practice and their skills. Just the BEST! Thank you guys for all you do!

I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Lee in September 2019. Dr. Lee was very friendly, personable, and professional throughout the experience. In terms of the administrative experience with phone calls, setting appointments, and other logistics, I was helped primarily by Kelsey. Kelsey was extremely thorough, diligent, and flexible when it came to working with my insurance. I couldn’t recommend their team more. My experience was great!

Dr. Relle is a surgical genius. He is one of the most caring, compassionate, and kind doctors. He cares about his patients and recommends the best option even if it means he’ll earn less money. He seriously is an angel. In addition, that man is a genius! I can’t say that enough. He knew exactly what to do with me and has been there for me every step of the way during the year before my surgery and all the way to now. He goes absolutely above and beyond.Also, the staff is just incredible. One of the nurses, Fajah, is yet another reason to come here! She made me feel so comfortable and welcome and helped calm my fears before my jaw surgery. She always has a smile on her face and is just so loving! She also always makes sure I’m comfortable and happy at my appointments. Seriously, she goes above and beyond and I’m so grateful there are medical professionals like her.

The staff is very accomodating and very professional. The facilities are very clean. The Dr. Who performed my surgery was Dr. Lee and he is very professional in terms of his profession and even explains to you in details the pros and cons. Your penny is worth it.

My daughter (13) had to have her lower wisdom teeth out as they were impacted on her 12 year molars. She and I were both anxious but were put to ease immediately after talking to Dr. Lee and his very friendly staff. The day of the procedure was as easy as it could go and the recovery was better than both my daughter and I expected. If/when my son or daughter need other wisdom teeth out, Dr. Lee will be the first phone call.

Dr. Sonnichsen and her staff took a thorough, measured and thoughtful approach to ensure I was well taken care of from start to finish. I was referred by Dr. William Wong and was so glad I came here after years of procrastination. The thought of 4 extractions seemed daunting at first, but felt reassured that I was in good hands following my consultation. I believe my surgery was performed with flawless execution because my post-op recovery went amazing. I had minor swelling only about 24 hours post-op, and did not have to use painkillers. I was legit surprised when Dr. S followed up with me the evening of my surgery to check on me! Ive never experienced this high regard towards patient care so I was happy about that. I’ve consulted with 3 other oral surgeon for my supernumerary impacted tooth which was very near the nerve and it was only Dr. Lee who made me feel comfortable to pursue with the extraction. When I was younger I had my bottom wisdom teeth extracted and it was horrible experience, but luckily this time I had Dr Lee doing the top wisdom teeth. He answered any concerns I had making me feel comfortable and safe. His staff was awesome, also reassuring me throughout my experience. Didn’t even feel him take out my teeth. I healed great would definitely recommend my family and friends here.

I had all four of my wisdom teeth removed, and I had cleared my whole calendar for the week to prepare for recovery. Truth is, I probably could have gone back the day after, because even taking no medication other than ibuprofen, I was experiencing no pain at all. The scheduling and procedure itself was also very quick -- the total time from my initial consultation to my teeth being out was barely a few weeks.Bottom line is -- if you need your wisdom teeth out, this center will get it done fast and right.

LACOMS has the BEST surgeons. This is the place to get any type of extractions, implants or even jaw surgery.
