Dr. Urrea is the consummate professional. Three years ago he did cataract surgery on my left eye and several weeks ago I had cataract surgery on my right eye. He is kind, patient, soft spoken, caring and professional. His staff is always pleasant, professional and kind as well. Jessica, the surgery coordinator is wonderful: accommodating, patient and professional. This is a very very busy office so patience is needed because sometimes youll wait ten minutes and other times youll wait a bit longer but thats only because Dr. Urrea takes his time with you to make sure all your questions and concerns are addressed.

10/10 recommend . Staff was amazing ! I brought in my 8 year old to be seen and pick out his first pair of glasses. Front desk was great . We were helped by Brenda and she was AMAZING ! I loved that she explained every single thing she was doing / testing for to my son (it helped him be more relaxed and at ease during the process) . We were also seen by Ifrah Sheesfarooqui O.D. and we were very pleased with her services and professionalism. They made our visit a breeze . MY ONLY COMPLAINT : the “glasses store” . the person working there was rude, and was not helpful at all . She did not look like she wanted to help anyone . Other than that , all other staff was amazing .

Yes, Optometrist are hands up nice and easy to approach with any question. Staff is horrible in the Optical Department. Very uncaring, they take forever to call you and give you ample time to choose frames from like a very minimal selection of frames.I was willing to pay for a frame my daughter wanted, but the staff told me I have to choose only from that small section in order for her insurance to cover everything, really? I look them up at VSP website and it clearly stated they have a wide selections and they are premier program lie.Indeed, I reached out to them already.

I have been a patience of Dr Urea since 2005 he is awesome and the nurses too, but the front desk and optical deparment are so rude it seems they dont want to be working there they do not know that we the patients are an important part for this business. I have been reading the reviews and I TOTALLY AGREE WITH ALL THE NEGATIVE ONES SOMEONE CALLED IT ZOO AND THAT PERSON WAS RIGHT!!! SOMEONE IS REPLYING ON THE COMMENTS WELL IF YOU DO T WANT A POOR REVUEW DO SOMETHING TO IMPROVE THE FRONT DEST SERVICE.

My mother suffers from lupus. She literally just goes to see the doctor (once a year)because of the medication she takes for her condition. The medication weekends the immune system and her eyes which is the reason I booked her appointment to be the first one in the morning (so I thought). 40 minutes after dropping her off she still wasnt called. If we werent in a pandemic I wouldnt have a problem with these doctors overbooking their practice. In times like these you would think that some type of safety measures would be taken to get every patient in at the time of their appointment. Instead they overbook their day and it becomes a zoo outdoors instead of indoors. This shouldnt be happening in the first place and especially not with Californiad safety measures.

I havent been to too many eye doctors but this one has been the best so far. I went with my mom to get her eyes checked and immediately felt comfortable. The establishment was new and clean. Something you wouldnt expect to be like in East L.A. I thought it was going to be a hole in the wall clinica but it wasnt. Staff was immediately attentive and checked you in fast. The waiting time can be long or it can be quick. It all depends.I liked it so much that I made an appointment for myself, which was given for the very next day.Not too many frame selections but I found what was suitable and my glasses only took 2 weeks and thats with ordering 2 pairs, one being sunglasses.I personally would recommend it. I told my girlfriend and she has an appt. tomorrow. Win Win so far!

No real social distancing due to overcrowded waiting areas, very long waiting to see the doctor, these people have no notion as to how appointments work, their idea of proper procedure is to see you an hour or more after your appointment time, they have a real problem with overbooking all patients during this pandemic, a lot of greed. The doctors are ok but the administration is not, and this creates a high exposure to covid.

I have been bringing my family to Dr. Urrea for years now. The service has always been wonderful. Yes, sometimes there is a wait. However, I rather wait to see a good Doctor that is thorough and will take his time to see his patients.I brought my mom in today to see Dr. Urrea she has cataracts and Dr. Urrea recommended surgery he explained everything involving the surgery in great detail,my mother and I felt confident with his recommendations and I know she is in good hands with Dr. Urrea. My mom has an HMO insurance and requires an authorization. I simply make sure to have it prior to her appointment; it’s simple you just need to KNOW how your insurance works!I read the negative reviews that does not describe this office at all. They are very professional and the office is very nice and clean. I highly recommend Soledad Eye Surgeons.

I came to Dr. Paul Urrea for eye surgery (anesthesia and sutures). The staff worked me in because I did not have an appointment. I think Dr. Urrea gave up his lunch hour to be sure to get to me in a timely fashion, especially since I was not on the schedule. The facility is state of the art and very comfortable with television for kids to watch cartoons as they wait. Both the staff and Dr. Urrea treated me with the the utmost respect and kindness. As I waited, I noticed that patients were from all backgrounds and walks of life -- some were destitute; I had the opportunity to observe how the front office personnel treated each patient with such kindness regardless of their ability to pay. Each one was treated so gently and patiently and with the same high level of respect. Following my treatment, I remarked to the director and I learned that providing expert services to those who otherwise would not have access is one of the medical groups key missions. And I learned that the doctors donate services to ensure the poor receive the same level of care, although they never let on. I certainly witnessed that happening during my visit. Superior skill, superior service and superior charity to all.

First, I wld like to remind that this is an ophthalmologist clinic dealing with someone’s EYES! I went as a NEW patient. I’m 62 yrs old but never mind my age. When I approached the counter, the staff didn’t greet, but began with whatever she needs to obtain and act like a robot. I told her I’m a new parent and she started asking questions one after another but didn’t give me a chance to answer. She asked for the authorization ltr, IDs, etc. When I stumbled, she demanded that I stand aside until I’m ready. She was very demanding/defensive. Are we in a busy marketplace??? Is this a military station??? As a daughter of a father who’s a retired heart surgeon, this is NOT acceptable. I moved on. There were quite a few patients behind me at the early in the morning but this doesn’t allow them to act so UNPROFESSIONAL, unethical & inhuman!!!Train your staff professionally & humanly!!!

I love it here its clean and I know it takes long so the eye doctor will see you it has good service and nice eye nurses that will check your eye first with the letters then I had to wait to go to the actual eye test then after when I was to go to the eye glasses and get only specific glasses and because of my insurance I have to get authorization from my primary doctor for to go. I love the service and even though I have to wait , they had TVs and they were play on mickey mouse shows. Live near there

Never ever take your children to this s**t hole. Dr. Pesheva is hands down the worst doctor. The wait time is horrendous and by the time you finally get through to actually see someone you are yelled at, talked down to, and your concerns will never be addressed. You can ask her all the questions you want but you sure as hell wont get any answers. Ive never had a pleasant experience here. If you have small children please do not take them here. No bedside manner at all. No respect. No help. They are useless. Dont waste your time. And do not subject your children to that torture. I honestly wish I had read these reviews and actually listened to them. All of the bad reviews are 100% correct. I kept telling myself it would get better and it only got worse. I hope this place gets rid of Dr Pesheva. She has no business dealing with children. Seriously if you read this please take it seriously. I never write reviews but for this lady I will make an exception. DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILDREN THROUGH THIS!

Horrible service my mom had an appointment on 2/1/18 @ 9am. The time passed and my mom kept going up to the receptionist to ask what time they where going to see her and they didnt give her an explanation. The last time she went up it was about 1 pm mind you my mom is diabetic and had not eaten. The receptionist told her that Dr. was not able to see her. My mom had an appointment why wouldnt they call and reschedule her appointment. My mom takes 2 buses to get to her appointment. Their should have not been any excuse not to see her if she had an appointment. I hope someone in the office does read this either way I will be making a formal complaint. You should treat all your patients the same as others with the upmost respect.

Dr urrea left me unchecked for 2 yrs back in 2010.he knew my family history of glaucoma and his busy front desk was a mess at that time .cut to 2012 now had glaucoma untreated for 2 yrs damage to optic nerves all because they left me unchecked despite my constant calling.needless to say I left .also the optometrist at the time was a little odd female telling my son the hair in his eyes was damaging his sight and to stop tilting his head,in a rude manner.sadly some doctors are good at the start and just stop caring or managing their front desk well.i can never get back what I lost.this was back when he was on Atlantic blvd.Im reading reviews and thats exactly what happened with me too busy ,unorganized, no call backs before you know it my eyes are already damaged.Dont wait 2 yrs hoping to get checked that short time will damage your eyes.i shouldve taken charge and saw someone else but I trusted they wouldnt leave me hanging if I needed help.there are many good opthos thatll get you in dont feel you gotta wait for him just because he speaks Spanish which is rare in mp area.

I would recommend Dr. Urrea 100%, he is extremely professional, VERY knowledgeable and took his time to explain everything he was doing. The quality of care is worth the wait and the drive. I brought my son to get a skin tag removed from his eye. I was more than happy to pay for the service rather than to have my son get butchered by another dr my insurance sent me to. Dr. Urrea has taken care of all my family members and I do not trust any other dr with my family’s needs. I am beyond grateful for the new experience my son had . His staff is also very friendly and professional we are always treated well. I would not go to any other dr again!

The worst experience ever!! If your taking your baby here for an appointment dont waste your time.. first they made me dilate my daughters eyes which caused a fever twice and sensitivity to light 7-14 days and the next day for the visit after dilation which was her appointment they told me if they can take a picture for her file, and call me up 10 min later to tell me I have to reschedule her appointment because they couldnt take me in.. whatever besides all of that she ended up seeing the DR which was VERY rude obviously made it clear she has never delt with a toddler before because when my daughter will cry because she was scared she would roll her eyes rudely say my daughter is sick and has a fever when she was not sick at all just scared and made me go out to the waiting room and had the lady tell me I will be called last for my baby to get seen ... after being there an hour early and tooken in 3 hrs later ... YEAH RIGHT I was not about to see my baby get put in a wrap to tie her down when she couldnt handle her crying and was annoyed of it .. I wouldnt even put a star for this review awful place.

My daughter has been coming here for the last past 3 year . All the doctors are very helpful even the receptionist. The reason iI gave it 2 stars was the lady with the short hair in the optometry is so rudeee!!!!!!! she always has an attitude. Every time we go shes always upset. Cant even ask a question without her having a short and rude response . Seriously get rid of her . There alot more people out there that would love an oppurtunity to work in a wonderful place like that .

I have been taking my niece to this MD for 2+ years now. My niece has physical and mental disability. Every time I go there, on average, I waited about 1 hr (this is with an appointment) before getting called to enter another waiting area, which is inside the examination area. In the examination area I wait about another 15-25mins before seeing the doctor, which is ok because there is an assistant doing the pre-work; some simple eye exam and eye drops. On my experience, Ive seen both MDs, and typically its for 10mins (the rest of the eye test, assessment and plan). This office is over crowded, there are people waiting outside in the hallway. This office is over crowded not because it is a great place, but because they take all patients and all insurance. There was one time where my appointment time was incorrectly written on my appointment card, it was either a 8 or 9. I did go in a day late and they said that I mis-read the appointment and didnt even bother to apologize for their mistake (I even asked a couple of strangers in the office and most said it was a 9). Instead of calling me to notify that I missed the appointment time, the receptionist told me that they were going to send me a postcard to notify me. What use is that? That means that it would have been a week late and I would still have to call in to reschedule, which is another issue.Since they are always full of patients and overbooked. If you need to see MD immediately, dont bother because if you dont have an appointment, you are going to wait about 2-3hrs. You are better off looking for a urgent care place. Most of the time, the only available appointment is about 2-3 weeks later. I called in twice to make an appointment for an operation (not eye exam) and each time I was on hold for 20mins (I am not lying). The 1st time, the receptionist said that Norma is on another call (is she too busy talking to her boy friend or what?). The 2nd time, they said that she stepped out of the office (shouldnt they tell me that in the first place so I dont have to be on hold). At the end of each call, I had to leave a message for that person (Norma) to call back. It already been 4 days and no one has called me back. Very mad.I have seen both Dr Perez and Urrea. They are both good. They explanations are good, but maybe I do have some medical background. If you have to go, the best time is to show up is at 8am and wait outside the office door. Once the door is open (about ~830am), rush inside and sign-in, believe me there will be people waiting behind you.The only reason why I am going to this place is because my family doctors says that this office is the only one he knows of and takes all insurances. I am currently looking for another place.
