Dr. Ashcraft is by far the best Optometrist myself and family have ever had the honor to work with. He has always been so kind, patient and helpful to our child, who has a variety of needs. Wonderful and friendly customer service! Great COVID safety protocol: hand-washing and sanitizer for customers and staff, products are disinfected after each use, as well as the (very extensive) technical equipment. Thorough check-up with intensive care and individual time for each customer. Dr. Ashcraft specializes in computer vision problems, which was exactly what I needed after shifting to remote work last year. He is also fluent in German.

Dr. Ashcraft was great! He was very easy to talk to and very informative! Many times I have felt pressured to wear glasses or increase my prescription by doctors even after I had laser eye surgery done. I did not feel like that at all with this doctor! He just made me aware of what was important for my eye health post laser surgery. I highly recommend this doctor!They also informed me that my vision insurance (which I’ve had for 2-3 years) covers up to $120 for non prescription sunglasses. I was never given this information from previous eye doctors!

Out in California for work and had an infection in my eye from wearing my contacts to long. Googled eye doctor and this place was this closest. Must have been my lucky day because I’ve never had such good service especially to walk straight in from the street with no recommendations or anything. They got me a prescription and eye was feeling better in no time. Then again when I was running low on contact before an international flight I was able to stop by there, do a quick exam and get contacts for backup on my trip. The best thing to happen to me while I was on that second trip was the LASIK recommendation he gave. I thought there was no way I would be able to afford LASIK in LA where all the superstars went, but to my surprise it was affordable, and I’m still seeing great today which is about a year and a half later. I may use this place as an excuse to come back and visit LA once a year when I leave to go back to my home state. Highly Recommend.Thanks for everything guys.Jonas.

I’ve been to multiple eye doctors since I was little, never have I had such a positive experience as I’ve had with family eye care. Not only are they very proficient in what they do, they’re professional and compassionate and just overall good people. I enjoyed my time with them and it was the most seamless experience I’ve ever had in a doctors office. They were the only eye doctor in the area who could figure out my out of state insurance, and they did so quickly and without issue, when every other office didn’t even try.

I would like to share my story to patients and parents of young children. If your child seems to struggle with reading or writing in any way, please take them to an eye professional to have their eyes fully examined and look for eye convergence issues (tracking). Dr. Ashcraft would be my selection.I am a graduate of UCLA. I struggle all through school just to make the grades I achieved. You could label me as a hard working person. I never read a complete book in high school or college. I learned how to achieve the grades by using my own strategies. I never realized that I had an eye convergence issue until I was around 50 years old. With the help of Dr. Ashcraft, I was prescribed prisims for my glasses. With this added to my glasses the world openned up for me. Now I can actually read an entire email with out losing focus due to eye muscle weakness. I am forever grateful. Please rule this out before you ask for special education for your child.Dr. Ashcraft and his staff are very kind and patient. His team is just and friendly and helpful too, and they also were dead set on getting me the best deal possible. I am so glad I found Dr. Ashcraft and will not be going back to a chain any time soon. My numerous encounters with Dr. Ashcraft and his optometry team can best be described by me with one word and thats GRATITUDE. Ive lived with extreme nearsightedness most of my life (58yrs). Every time i was in Dr. Ashcrafts practice the vision care I received was professional, attentive and tailored specifically for my vision needs. Ill stand behind my claim of the care I received based on the following events. Over a very short period of time, earlier this year, (YES...COVID19 was here) my eyes SUDDENLY developed cataracts and my vision tanked. Without Dr. Ashcrafts dedication to me as his patient, Im certain my vision health would be awful. Of course Dr. Ashcrafts immediate diagnosis was crucial to my vision health, along with Dr. Ashcrafts commitment to having the BEST prescription lenses issued to me, thus insuring I had my vision corrected to an optimal level of sight; which was not an easy task. Then Dr. Ashcraft referred me to an highly-regarded opthamologist in LA for the surgery, but I had to refugee my way from LA to Albuquerque to afford cataract surgery. Im absolutely convinced that Dr. Ashcraft contributed to MY MIRACLE. I went from 20/400 in my right eye and 20/200 in my left eye to being GLASSES-FREE!!!MY VISION MIRACLE was born under the wonderful care I received from Dr. Ashcraft and his staff.NOW I CAN SEE...!!!DR. This was by far the most complete and thorough eye examination Ive ever had. Dr. Ashcraft explained everything and address every concern I had. Everyone there is really friendly and helpful. They explained what my insurance would cover and even threw in some discounts. Will definitely come back again.

I was looking for a new eye doctor and I saw them on yelp, then on google so I called in to schedule a appointment with family eye care and the receptionist was so pleasant over the phone, when I arrived I was greeted by everyone that worked in the office, My eye exam went so smooth, they didnt make me feel like I was being rushed to do anything, they asked me questions, made me feel so comfortable, especially when the time came for me to pick out my glasses, they were so helpful, and they broke down every price, so I knew exactly what I would be paying for, I will definitely go back again, Ive found my new eye doctor

I am in my late 30s and have been wearing contacts since I was 10 years old. My vision was always so bad that glasses were not an option due the strong prescription. After many years of going back and forth, this year I finally made the decision to get LASIK. The process was very easy. You first need to see if you’re a good candidate and then meet with the doctor and schedule an appointment. I originally thought this process would take months, but it was actually pretty quick! Within a few weeks - (would have been shorter if I was braver) - I got LASIK and am so happy with the results.Dr. Ashcraft answered all of questions and concerns. The actual surgery was very quick and not as scary as I thought it was going to be. I did experience a lot more pain than other patients, but once that subsided a few weeks after my surgery, my vision is perfect. I can even see further than people who have had perfect vision all their lives. There are tons of follow ups so I felt reassured that my eyes were being checked. I even got extra appointments because I experienced so much pain.Even though I was one of the 3% who experiences a lot of pain, I would no doubt do this again. I would also recommend this to anyone who was interested in LASIK.

I first started seeing the Ashcrafts for my vision care back in 1990. For most of that time I had been working with Dr. Harold Ashcraft and he always took his time during exams to make sure I got the best possible prescription for my vision.As time past, my vision changed and he always took time to make sure I understood what was happening to my vision as I aged, and then would go on to explain all the options available and what the results would be.This is an example of the kind of personal care that Dr. Ashcraft always practiced. A year ago (Fall of 2018), I moved out of the Los Angeles area and now live too far away to continue seeing Dr. Ashcraft. Since that time, I developed cataracts in one of my eyes and I am going to have cataract surgery. Needing some reassurance about the procedure and to discuss the options available to me, I called Dr. Ashcraft to get his opinion. Not only did he immediately take my call, we spent some time talking about cataract surgery and he answered a number of questions that I had. The amazing thing about this, is that he called me back the next day to further explain all the options in front of me, as well as giving me a better understanding of my vision and what the different options would give me in terms of expected vision post surgery.As I mentioned, I have been very happy with the vision care, as well as personal interest that Dr. Ashcraft has given me all the years that I saw him.

I am 25 years old and have been visiting Dr. Ashcraft since I was a teenager. Dr. Ashcraft has always been extremely helpful and makes everything having to do with eyewear easy to understand. I have been using Family Eyecare since 1980.Dr. Ashcraft has created a great environment which just makes me extremely comfortable from the moment I walk in the door. The staff are friendly and efficient and Dr. Harold has the knowledge and experience to help you understand everything.I went from glasses to contacts to Lasik through this office and have no reservations about referring people to him.I drive in from La Habra for my appointments, usually over an hour each way but in my opinion worth the drive.
