I’m sure dr thein is great, however i never even got the chance to see her due to the office staff. the person i spoke to on the phone to schedule my appointment was amazing, friendly, and welcoming. however the person i emailed with regarding my intake forms was the exact opposite. they were short with me after i pointed out that i had already sent the paperwork, despite me sending it again just to avoiding being difficult. i cancelled my appointment after interacting with them. however i just recieved a text confirming my appointment. the appointment is cancelled, and the text showed it being scheduled for 4 hours after we discussed on the phone. this was wildly discouraging and i will have to find a doctor’s office that is more organized and welcoming.

Ive been seeing Dr. Thein for about a year now, and Im very satisfied with her practice. Id seen my previous psychiatrist for 4 years, but had to find a new one when my insurance changed. I was very nervous about switching doctors, but I knew Dr. Thein was a good fit and great doctor after meeting her.She is direct and gets straight to the point. She does an excellent job of explaining what medications she is prescribing, what side effects you may experience and how concerned you should be about them. I also LOVE that she doesnt double book time slots. When I arrive, shes ready within 5 minutes!

Dr. Thein has been a huge help!! Ive been to other psychiatrists before her and she is the best by far. When she first sees you she explains your diagnosis and how it effects your brain. She then explains what certain medications do and why it could or could not be beneficial. She listens and takes very good note of what you say. I have been very sensitive to all my medication in the past and Dr. Thein finally got me to a comfortable point. At first she can seem standoff ish but she just tries to be as professional as possible, so give her a chance to warm up a bit. Overall shes very good at her job!!

I began seeing Dr. Thein two years ago at the recommendation of my psychologist. I was impressed with her professionalism and how she got to the heart of my problem. As such, I have had excellent progress and finally understand what I really have going on. At the follow-ups, she asks questions that prove to me that she is considering all the aspects of medication therapy in relation to my psychological and physiological parameters. And she is the first psychiatrist I have been to who does her own follow-ups. At other clinics I was pushed off to a nurse practitioner, so I am very happy with Dr. Thein.

I have been going to Dr Thein for MANY years and have had great results. She is direct, can be stern and has a perceived lack of bedside manner but she asks the right questions, does the right things and is willing to do whatever is required to get you better. Shes more than willing to change up RXs if the current ones are not working. If you follow her plan, you WILL get better. Yes, it can take some time but be patient. If youre not willing to do what she recommends, go elsewhere.

I went to see Yee Yee Thein in December and I’m glad I didn’t go back. She asked me a bunch of questions but seem she didn’t listen to anything I had to say unless it was simply answering her question. In end she said she didn’t know what was wrong with me and asked what did I want her to do for me and since I don’t have her degree or education on the subject and I’m paying to see her, what was I suppose to say. After I told her I was here for that reason she simple said she didn’t know what was wrong with me it what my psychologist said didn’t seem right which basically made feel like I was going back to square one on finding what was going on with me. If you can afford to go to someone else, please do so.

I agree with the previous reviewer. Dr. Thein is a serious medical practitioner. Consultations with her should be supported by therapy elsewhere. She does not prescribe medications lightly and takes into consideration the patients entire context. I have seen her now for two years, as a result of chronic pain that sent me into a downward spiral of anxiety and depression. What I like about Dr. Thein is that she educates her patients on what happens to the brain during depression & anxiety; there is no shame or judgment in her approach. Rather, she gives you medical tools that will help you achieve a calm, clear mental state where you can take responsibility for your own mental health and well being. I feel more in control of my life as a result of seeing Dr. Thein, and for that, Im very grateful. Her no-nonsense approach comes from a real desire to help.

Dr. Thein has been a trusted and knowledgeable partner in my quest to overcome my depression after the death of my mother. When her first course of treatment didnt work as expected, she was quick to change direction to a treatment that better fit my physiology. During my subsequent visits she does little tweeks here and there according to the changes in my life. I think those who give Dr. Thein a poor review do not understand her purpose. She is not a therapist. She is a medical doctor and her role is to prescribe your medication. She listens carefully to your symptoms and prescribes what she thinks will best help you overcome your illness. She is extremely professional and will take good care of you!

I sit somewhere in between all of these reviews. Dr. Thein is not mean, cruel or rude, she is simply blunt and straightforward. She doesn’t do or say things to get on your bad side. Some people are just too sensitive and are looking for someone to treat them as a child. I also believe that she can do better than what she presents. Sometimes you can’t diagnose someone based off of the results of a survey. I feel like she is disconnected from her patients (at least with me) in an emotional way. She is educated and knowledgeable in her career but she has to figure out a way to connect with her patients. I’ve had ADHD since I was a kid but I never received treatment for it and for some reason dr. Thein continues to prescribe me antidepressants/anxiety medication. I’ve wasted over 500 dollars and have spent a total of 50 minuets in her office. Each time I see her she doesn’t remember who I am and often asks me the same questions as before. I will be visiting her office once more and if she tries to prescribe me another antidepressant I will be switching doctors. I’m not depressed in the least bit and my anxiety is very minimal. I see some people are pleased with their treatment of depression and anxiety but it seems like this is the only thing she actually treats.

Very awkward visit every time. Spent less than 5 minutes each visit. She only seemed to care if the medication she gave me was doing anything. Not personable feeling.

My husband has been seeing her for a few months and he feels worse now than when he started seeing her. He’s never in there for more than 5-10 minutes and she is extremely disconnected from my one experience going with him. She doesn’t treat him as an individual. I would not recommend her to anyone!

Ms. Thien was more concerned with pushing drugs than getting to know me as a patient. She seemed bored and annoyed by my mere presence. She was entirely uninterested in my situation. The appointment took 20 minutes which seems like a rather short amount of time to spend with someone before prescribing psychoactive medication.I would avoid her at all costs. Find a doctor that actually cares instead.

This is absolutely the worst doctors office there is in the entire metroplex. Kim needs to be fired. She is very rude, unreasonable, and never has a straight up answer to any question. I missed two appointments as I am a full time student and new mom, they want at least $100 before they can see me I asked Kim if I could make payments she laughed and gave me a bs # to call. I NEVER signed anything stating a missed appointment would result in $100 fee. Onto of this the doctor blocked my refill with the pharmacy knowing I struggle with chronic anxiety and depression and knowing Im financially unable to pay as it is. Dr. Thein will spend 5 mins with you and ask you over and over again if you are suicidal and feeling like killing today like how inappropriate is that I struggle with anxiety Im not a murder. Shes in the wrong field. STAY AWAY!

Stopped going here because the front desk woman tried to charge me for not coming to the visit. Id tried to call, but couldnt get through. Apparently I was supposed to know about an inline for canceling appointments. This on top of the weird and rude front desk woman and the aloof and unconcerned doctor. Do not recommend.

If I could I would write this review one thousand times over so no one would ever have to waste their time on this insensitive money-grabbing troll of woman. She is incompetent and does not care about you as a person. Youll never spend more than 5 minutes in her office she just wants you in and out the door as fast as possible. All she sees you as is a paycheck. Not only does she not deserve to practice psychiatry, she does not deserve to be in any profession where she has contact with any other human.

She refuses to listen, has an egotistical attitude, sent me into a panick attack mode and continued to behave poorly towards me instead of helping, flat out BYtold me to my face she wouldnt do anything but prescribe drugs, told me I was childish for having suicidal thoughts, gave me a test to fill out and told me just answer the questions without reading them, she acted annoyed and aggravated by having to do her job (which ahe refused to do). She is NOT helpful. She is emotionally triggering and refuses to do her job. If you have anxiety and/or depression DO NOT SEE HER!!! I wish I could give her 0 stars
