Communication with this office is horrific. They have no problem sending an overwhelming amount of useless emails & appointment reminders but if you have a question/issue good luck getting a timely response.I paid for a type of in-house “insurance” for myself and my son for almost a year. There were no problems with my son’s coverage. When I tried to schedule myself the “covered” routine cleaning, I was told my insurance plan was completely useless. I left a message for the office manager to call me to discuss. One week later when I took my son for a procedure I once again left a message for the office manager to call.Today…9 days after the SECOND request…the office manager, Maria, called to let me know there is nothing they will do to remedy my situation. She advised that I am a perio patient & they will not perform routine cleanings. When talking she used the words horrible and terrible to describe the conditions of my teeth. Extremely unprofessional!!! She also stated that they usually review patients and make sure they have the right coverage which was clearly NOT done in my case. At this point, I had made up my mind to end our relationship. I didn’t ask for my money back but was expecting them to maybe apply the roughly $300 I had paid to the CORRECT insurance plan moving forward. Maria made it clear that nothing would be done for me and basically insinuated that I’m an idiot for not knowing that once you are a perio patient you can’t go back. News to me 😂Anyway, this really sucks for my son because he absolutely loves Dr. Shobe & so do I. I really hate that the support staff and “insurance” issues are affecting his practice.

Very upset with this office after they canceled my childs appointment today without notice. I had just called the week prior to make the appointment. I had confirmed via email the day before. Arrived a few minutes before her appointment to be told it was canceled due to non confirmation and another child needing the appointment for an emergency. Yet I received an appointment reminder at 6am before we arrived. They said they had called multiple times to confirm but my husband who was working didnt get the voice-mail until after the office was closed so he didnt call them back. This wasnt just a routine cleaning it was a time sensitive procedure that doesnt need to be put off. I made the appointment just the week before and confirmed via email the day before to be told by office staff that I had just confirmed a few minutes prior. That was not the case considering I was driving to the appointment. I dont understand how there would have been an emergency with another child if her appointment was first thing, 8am, how would they even have time to fit someone in that spot. If they had scheduled someone the day prior they should have called and left a voice mail letting me know instead of me driving all the way to the office. When my child had an urgent need like a broken space and metal just hanging in her mouth I was told she couldnt be seen for 3 days due to not having any open appointments. We have been taking my child here for years. Never had this sort of issue until today. This will be last time we come here.

Clean, professional, and friendly. What more do you want? My whole family goes here, and its always a first class experience. Dr. Ward has some seriously gentle hands. Id probably ask him out to dinner if I werent married. My wife asked: How did it go? I told her: Terrible. Hes so rough. Life lessons right here. Never tell your wife how great your dentist is, eh.In all seriousness though, the whole place is top notch. From the front office to the docs, everybody is always all smiles.

Never thought Id say, Im looking forward to my next dental appointment. But I actually am since its at Southern Dental Associates in Lewisville. The hygienists and office staff that work with Dr. Carter Ward are simply phenomenal. So friendly and helpful. They always do their best to make sure Im comfortable and well informed about what procedure theyre performing and any new equipment they may be using. From the time I walk in the door to the time I leave with my next appointment reminder in hand, I feel like I just had a cherished visit with old friends.

My kids have been using this practice for several years and they have been amazing with them. Even my special needs child remains calm. I however only recently began using them for myself. I have an incredible phobia of going to the dentist. Its embarrassing but I went 20yrs without dental care due to my fears. I had a medical issue arise that can affect my teeth so I had no choice but to start care. I explained my fears to the receptionist and she immediately said Dr.Liner would be the best for me as he is so gentle and patient with people like me. And he really is. Since it had been so long, I needed a 4hr deep root cleaning and one tooth pulled. He made sure I was comfortable and the hygenist frequently made sure I wasnt feeling anything. It took a few visits to get everything corrected but I have no hesitation going to the dentist now. Im actually starting the process of Invisalign and Im so glad they now offer it because I will not go to another practice. The whole staff has been so accommodating and up front with estimates. Sometimes the estimate is wrong and I owe more, but thats what an estimate is. Its not a firm price. Its an estimate of remaining charges after insurance is filed. I wish I could remember the names of everyone I have dealt with but Dr.Shobe, Dr. Liner, Niki, and Sharon are the ones I speak with most frequently but the staff as a whole is great. Dont bother going anywhere else. You wont find better medicine or customer service at another practice

Up front Danielle and Niki and everyone are great people. The Dentists that worked with me Dr. Huck and Carter Wood and Dina are perfectionists and extremely good. Just call here they can do the best.

Never take you child here ! My 12 year old daughter had 2 teeth pulled to make room for braces. We ask if she did need anything more than Tylenol or Advil afterwards would they call in something for. Told us yes no problem. Well after about a hour the numbing wore off and she was crying in terrible pain. Call southern dental associates of Lewisville just to get something to get her thru the night. We we told no ! Doctor said she was joking around in office after procedure. I guess so you Moron her face was numb. Anyway I had to go thru my family doctor to get pain meds so she would suffer all nite. I will never have my kids at this place again.

Most people dislike going to the Dentist...I LOVE going to Southern Dental Associates!!! Deb Ruebel is the absolute BEST! I live in Charlotte and still drive to Lewisville just to see her! I’ve been with her for well over a decade. I especially appreciate Niki at the front desk too! They always make my day better and I enjoy every visit!

One office for pediatric and adult dental needs.+ Friendly, kind and efficient office staff+ SO CLEAN.+ top-grade dental care with latest technology and material advancements - we never have cavities and I swear it’s the regular dental visits!+ ARCADE (!!!) while my kids wait, only downside is the wait time is so short, my kids wish they could play longer!+ pediatric dentist Dr. Shobe is wonderful, my kids adore him, he explains everything so well and is encouraging and so positive. Excellent dentist, best my kids have ever had!+ dental hygienists are sweet, gentle and top notch! They make even my youngest, anxious child feel comfortable.+ kids office also has videos for kids to watch during cleaning, fun toys, etc.+ also are able to fit in multiple kids in one visit (I have four kids, this is SO wonderful!)My husband and I also see Dr. Ward on the adult side of the office. I was concerned about having this work done because of its location, right in front. Past experience, this area is always very painful until the numbness kicks in. Beverly assured me that it would not be bad, and she was right. The new topical numbing agent worked so well, I never felt any of the shots given. Also, the work went very smooth, no issues at all. Dr. Ward did an excellent job! Beverly assisted, and she did an excellent job! I have to mention Nikki, who always explains the insurance, and works with me on anything I need. All of the folks at SD are great to work with, and I know will be there if I need them. Look forward to seeing you all again soon!

I had my first visit here today and Ashley made me feel very welcome and was extremely helpful in answering all of the questions I had. I was given a tour of the entire building and will be setting up appointments for my wife and 4 year old daughter who I think will both love the office and be satisfied as well. Dr. Ashton was also very helpful and I am satisfied that I have found the right dentist.

Dr. Ward and Dr. Shobe are the absolute best for you (Ward) and your kids (Shobe). They are both very kind and caring and put your needs above their profits. Of course, this leads to you wanting to go back over and over, so they make their profit anyway and we all win! When my family moved out of the area then moved back, one of the motivating reasons to come back to this area was the great care we always received from Dr. Ward!

Dr. Ward and the whole staff are awesome. I have had some horrible experiences over the years at the hands of dentists. I only wish I had found a dentist like Dr Ward years ago and I would have a mouth full of my own teeth. To say my level of anxiety was very high was an understatement. Had 5 extractions yesterday and one filling. Dr Ward and his assistant was excellent in keeping me informed of every step. Do not hesitate to use Southern Dental. You will not be disappointed.

This is the dental office you are looking for. Dr. Ward is excellent and Beverly will ensure your dentals needs are met to your satisfaction. They put the patient first and make sure you are comfortable before proceeding. They talk during the procedure putting you at ease. You also know what your expense will be ahead of time. Nikki is excellent with explaining insurance and expected payment.

I hate going to the dentist, it always gives me high anxiety. But SDA made it as relaxing as it possibly could’ve been. All the staff is so friendly and Dr Ward was so gentle and seemed to really care about my comfort. Can’t recommend them enough.

I drove an hour to this location because I read all of the great reviews. I was looking for a great pediatric dentist for my 3 children. I could not have been more pleased with my first visit. The pediatric dentist here is phenomenal, and so was the dental hygienist!! We will definitely be coming back here!

Just wanted to say that all my experiences with Southern Dental Team in Lewisville have been nothing short of an exceptional service You are always welcomed with a smile and followed up with a top Professional Service. My Dentist is Dr Ward and he is not only an exceptional Dentist but I also consider him a friend. Why would anyone want to go anywhere else...!! They get my highest recommendations.

The lack of communication in this office is astounding. We confirm an appointment and show up and the office canceled it without notification, stating because the insurance information was not up to date, which I had with me to update. And then made us wait another week to reschedule the appointment they canceled. Then when my sons grandmother brought him, after I made sure she was on file to bring him, they informed us she wasn’t on the file and the last office assistant just put a note on the file. So then have to stop my day to wait on a fax to fill out and send back just so my son can get a cleaning. Needless to say, we are changing dental offices as not one person at the office even offered an apology for the miscommunication. Even after speaking to the manager Debbie. A simple apology would have made the world of difference, but instead I felt as if I was an inconvenience for them because I was frustrated. Hopefully others will see this and not waist their time with this office. It’s not worth the headache it comes with.

Although we have been coming here a short time, I already love it! From the minute you walk into the door, to the minute you leave, everyone is professional and friendly. Its clean and tidy. I love how I can go back there with my daughter. All the Pediatric tables have TV monitors / videos to help occupy the children. The dental hygienists are super nice and always have a smile and kind word. Dr. Shobe gladly answers my questions without making me feel rushed. So pleased to have found this place. Not only is it great for kids, but the whole family. Highly recommend!

My daughter has been a patient since she was a little more than one year old. Dr. Shobe is very friendly and welcoming (as is his whole staff) and never tries to push for unnecessary work. These guys are amazing! Very kid friendly, and just friendly in general. Our appointments always land right before payday but they work with me and as soon as pay day hits I pay them. My oldest was terrified of going to see a dentist but he absolutely loves it there and so does my toddler. Very fun, Super awesome!

Dr. Ashton always makes me feel comfortable. And that is very important to me as going to the dentist is my least favorite thing. I would rather go to the doctor than to the dentist. Sorry, but true. Dr. Ashton is my favorite dentist of all time. 😄. And Amber was great too. She finished me up since Dr. Ashton was busy with a consultation. Amber was sweet telling me “Good Job” after each tap tap tap.

Rather than embarrass me an associate came out and told me privately and then offered for me to have my cleaning and examination by someone who was available to see me. The hygienist was excellent. My regular hygienist came by to say, hello. The dentist was thorough and very friendly. Spirits are positive and bright in this practice. From the most afraid of dentist patient to the case that requires serious surgery I would recommend this practice.

My husband laughs that Im still the one bending over backward to correct Dr. Wards mistake.The response We dont have any availability today. Dr. Ward just got back from vacation.I explain the situation. Perhaps they dont realize the mistakes they made previously and the expectation I was set. Maybe Dr. Ward could shorten lunch? After all, I would do that for my own clients to make a situation right.The response No. That wont work.I applaud the work-life balance, but what a joke!!NEEDLESS TO SAY, I WILL NOT GO BACK. Stellar first visit to SDA. They saw me on a moments notice and they took care of all the things I needed done for next months hip surgery. Southern Dental Associates provides expert dental services. The staff are professional, efficient, competent and friendly, Sondra does an excellent job with my dental cleaning and Dr. Liner is tops!

Both myself and my son have received services here. Everyone I have dealt with here has been very nice and friendly. They work with my young son to keep him distracted during check ups, and have tvs over each chair to help keep him entertained while they work. I has made the dentist a fun experience for him so far. I would highly recommend this practice, especially for kids.

They made my husband miss work by confirming his appt, just to deny him a regular cleaning for a past due balance of $130. The balance was for 3 cleanings that should have been covered by my insurance and a filling that was greater then the amount I was told to pay, which I did. If they knew they were going to deny service they should have not confirmed it or let him know over the phone he needed to pay the balance upon arrival. Once arriving today they should have made an arrangement with him to come back and pay it since he left his wallet at home but instead they were unprofessional and rude while he was there and said they would not see him until it was paid. We could have paid them over the phone when he got home but after seeing a breakdown of the balance due i am questioning if they didnt over charge my insurance company. Cleanings are covered once every six months so how/why do I have a balance for a cleaning?

All went excellent! The ability to corral a 5 yr old long enough to clean teeth is a huge accomplishment.

Friendly dental team that makes me love coming to the dentist!

I chipped a piece off of the inside of my bottom front tooth. It was previously fixed by another dentist but the filling broke off. Dr. Ashton came in and gave me 2 options; refill or grind the rough edges to make the tooth smooth. I went with the simpler grind option and now I have a smooth tooth and no filling to fall out again. Great solution and execution by a great team!! Oh, and Ashley, I was just kidding about fixing my own tooth at home with my Dremel grinder...HA!!! Ill bring all my dental repairs to you guys!!!

We have been to this practice since they opened and always loved Dr. Amy. Todays visit 11/27/18 I was not real impressed new dentist worked on my daughter pulling teeth and she never even introduced herself. I was a little put out by this and felt unprofessional. Love Dr. Shobe

We owe a small balance to this office, that my wife believes she has already taken care of. They contacted me to confirm my appt for this morning. When I arrived I was informed they would not see me for my cleaning because of the balance owed. I did not have my wallet on me and they refused my cleaning, which was covered by insurance. They could have told me this over the phone and not made me miss work just to deny service. Very unprofessional, my family will never return. We will pay you the 137 and switch to a more professional dentist office.Sorry to have inconviencined you all this morning.

My dental journey has not been easy in the last few months and everyone at SDA has been so nice and supportive, even when I was in pain and feeling like this journey would not end how I envisioned it. I have never had anyone in the medical profession be as supportive as this team, never in my life. I recommend SDA 100%.

I have had dental anxiety since I was a teenager. I must say, I’ve never found a better dental practice than SDA! Every person I’ve dealt with has made me feel so comfortable and so at ease. They truly do treat you like family! Niki always greets me with a smile and an offer of coffee....she knows the way to my heart! Mariah explains every step of what’s being done and her calming manner is wonderful!! And Dr. Ward....what can I say? He’s upfront, honest and extremely wonderful at what he does! We switched dentists a while back to Southern Dental at Lewisville and my son sat through his exam wonderfully with Dr. Chad. When it came time to have his cavity filled, Dr. Chad and his assistant were amazing. They were patient and caring with my son and they treated him like he was their only patient for the day. They talked him through every step they were going to take so nothing would come as an alarm or surprise. My son sat through the procedure like a champ, and he didnt feel any pain and quietly watched the movie playing for him like nothing was going on. My son has had some recent traumatic dental experiences with a different dentist in town. Since my son needed to have a cavity filled but has had past scarring experiences, I was very worried and nervous at how he would even handle it, or if he would sit through it. I am so happy I finally found a compassionate family dentist who takes the time and cares for their patients instead of an office that feels like a turnstile practice. I highly recommend Southern Dental Associates at Lewisville.

Very irritated with the business. After one missed appointment that I called an hour prior to cancel I was sent a letter saying that my five year old daughter could no longer be seen there. A year later after I (still to this day) receive emails & text messages asking me to re-schedule. Even though I have called & asked to not be on their list several times. A possible more annoying factor is that the last time I called to request the termination of the emails & texts the lady seemed to want to argue of the reasoning I was not allowed to make further appointments. Even after I stated the reason I had called was simply to be taken off the email & text message list.

Awesome staff and Doctors!

My daughter had an appointment with Dr. Liner for conscious sedation dental procedure on 3/18. We received a call the night prior saying that her grandmother had a stroke and they called the family in. Her grandmother died the next day. We tried to call the office telephone number listed online but there was no way to leave a message. I sent an e-mail explaining what had happened but evidently no one got it until much later. My daughter missed her appt due to her grandmothers death and we called to reschedule was told that she would have to pay another downpayment before they would see her again. We were informed that we had not given 48 hours notice of cancellation. How do you know 48 hrs ahead that her grandmother would have a stroke. We received no sympathy from this office just a demand for more money for a procedure that she didnt even receive!

Both of my kids come here. An they just love everyone that works here .. I love them all
