I was someone who had only thought of having an FUE surgery in passing. I was interested in having it done, but, I was a bit intimidated of the process of finding a quality doctor. After someone close to me recommended Dr. Bushwach, I figured I would give it a shot--particularly after seeing his stellar google reviews. I am really glad I made the choice to give it a try. Dr. Bushwach and his staff pulled the procedure off seamlessly--even during the height of covid. I was able to drive home afterward (I live almost 3 hours away) without issue. The recovery went as described. Now, just over six months later I am really pleased with the results. Basically back to where I was 10 years ago.

I waited until about 8 months out to post. Have to see the results, and this process can take up to a year. Well at 8 months I am impressed. Since the changes are so subtle to your own eye it is always a minor change. Well when I saw my before photo and compared to my own photo, change was not subtle at all. WOW!! Is all I can say.First if you are thinking about doing, do it. Its a huge difference, I went back and forth with yes or no for about 5 years, then someone said hey you are bald shave your head. I researched for a long time and found the best in the business local here in JOCO, KS. His price cannot be beat, and overheads low, but procedure is TOP KNOCTCH.. You can basically get two here for one in California. And YES I will do a second procedure, because the first is so great, so might as well go from having hair to perfect hair.Where he saves is administrative so he is able to give you the best of the best. The medical professional that harvests is the best in the business and travels to KC, I always suggest David. His nurse on staff is always available to call, for that matter Dr. Buchwach is always available. If I am not mistaken he called and checked up me from San Diego on vacation. Thats amazing in itself. His staff is all around excellent. I felt comfortable during the whole process, more like I was with friends and not doing what some would call a procedure. Trust me this process takes all day, its nice to have some folks to talk with.This helps because it is kind of embarrassing to losing your hair and they make you feel very at ease, and comforting.Make no bones about it the procedure is mildly invasive, and Dr. B and his staff are there for the whole thing, and do not rush and make you feel comfortable. They even suggest some amazing netflix shows I havent previously watched. Dr. B is a legend in the KC metro, so if you come from out of state DO IT.Normally wouldnt post this as my names attached but who couldnt be impressed with these results, so not only did I post but here are my before and my 8 month photo. I had my FUE procedure done 7 months ago. When I began thinking about having the process done, my hope was to just minimize my balding look. I got my procedure done in June of 2018 (18 years old, just graduated high school). During that time I had lost a substantial amount of my hairline and I was very insecure about how my hair looked and it honestly had a really big impact on my self esteem, more than I would have liked to admit at that time. My parents were very concerned because they saw how much I was trying to hide my hair or how I would always fidget with it because I was so self-conscious. My mom found Dr. Buchwach and when we went in for the FUE transplant consultation, I was pleasantly surprised how Dr. Buchwach made me feel listened to and respected and could tell he really did care about my situation and wanted to help in any way he could. He assured me that if anything went wrong then he would take care of it. And I distinctively remember feeling relieved and hopeful about my hair for the first time and I was fricking excited for the procedure! I was very nervous the morning before the procedure but the reassurance and confidence presented by Dr. Buchwach and his team helped me decatastrophize the situation and they also gave me some Valium which helped too. The procedure was about 9 hours but I was able to watch movies, take breaks, and have some fun small talk with the staff (a small part of my reluctance to do the procedure initially was because I was dreading the wait but even if it would have taken 24 hours I would go back and do it again in a heart beat). Taking care of your head after the procedure is a breeze and even though there many times I thought I had bumped my head too hard and it would mess up everything, i was able to call Dr. Buchwach and he reassured me it would be okay. If youre worried about being able to hide the procedure, you shouldnt because it is literally as easy as wearing a hat. There was visible hair growth for the first year after the procedure and after that I think it got much thicker. So all in all, I think it took about a year and a half after the procedure for all of my new hair to grow in and thicken and still looks amazing to this day and I am so thankful I had the procedure done even though I had my doubts initially. Hes the effing bomb, not just in KC but in the world (quite literally--look him up) and I am forever grateful.

It took me 15 years and several visits to Dr. Buchwach to make the decision to finally get my hair transplant surgery done. Im surprised he didnt tell me to quit bothering him, but instead was very patient with me while I made my decision to do it. No pressure whatsoever. Dr. Buchwach wants his patients to be excited about this surgery and the outcome. To say the least, Im very happy with my results. I feel a great sense of relief since having the surgery done. Dr. Buchwach is a gem and very caring and understanding of a womans hair loss situation, but he is also straight forward about what he can and can not do. The surgery itself isnt a party, but it wasnt as bad as I was expecting it to be. In fact, I think I dozed off a couple times during the implant process. There is a little maintenance to the recovery process, but nothing out of the ordinary. I cant say I agree that one can return to work the next day after surgery, but I guess it depends on the extent of ones surgery. Dr. Buchwachs office staff is kind and caring as well. His nurse has been with him for years so that says something. His office is unassuming and welcoming. Probably the only downside to my experience is in a perfect world, I would like my hair to be as thick as it was in my teens. Dr. Buchwach had said I probably shouldnt expect that, but the thickness is so much better than it was and all my feelings of embarrassment are gone. Im not afraid for the wind to blow through my hair anymore. I just wish Dr. Buchwach and his team performed eye lifts and tummy tucks. Dr. Buchwach is truly a hidden gem! I had a procedure 15 years ago with a larger, more heavily marketed company. There is no comparison to the personal attention Dr. Buchwach gives to each of his clients and their specific case. He offered his recommendations on my situation but he also incorporated my own input on things like treating the temporal peak areas. But you also have to consider not everyone wants their pictures shown afterwards so that’s not always the best way to tell who is best. I liked Dr. Buchwach’s knowledge and many years of experience, his price, how close he was to home and the area he’s located in, and his confidence. I got the vibe that he would do the best work, and I was right. I also liked how he gave me his cell phone number so I could literally call or text him with any concerns at any time, which I did. Even if the waiting area was full, I was always rushed back and given precedence over others with hardly any wait. He listened carefully to my concerns and what I wanted, and most importantly he did a great job. The results are perfect just like he said they would be. It was a great experience from start to finish, the post care time and instructions were exactly as he told me they would be, and they helped guide me through all of that. I went to Bosley first for a consultation: Their website indicates that the cost for a FUE procedure can be from $4K - 10K.... So imagine my surprise when they quoted me over $13K for 1,800 follicles!... As a small business owner myself, I know that people dont appreciate those kinds of surprises!!!!!....Enter Dr. Buchwach....I called his office a few days later,... Dr Buchwach returned my call himself in the same hour I had left a message!!!!! I knew then that I had found my hair guy! He didnt pressure me; he didnt try and sell me extra stuff I didnt need..... A complete inverse from my experience with Bosley.I scheduled with Dr BuchwachThe procedure was mostly pain-free... His team is top notch! They were kind, knowledgeable, and entirely focused on me! I am an RN and she is the RN I want to be when I grow up!The techs, Mario and Brianna, placed my 2865 follicles steadily, gently, quietly and were quick to make sure I was comfortable throughout the procedure and whenever I needed a break.In short, this office is the best around. I have been an RN for over 40 years and worked with many surgeons and in some doctors offices. You will not find a better place for your hair replacement. Wish I had known about them decades ago. Ladies, (and guys) dont wait any longer. It is fun watching for the first growth to appear!(Also, Mrs. Buchwach is supportive of patients, I was served a delicious Friendship Bread she made. Yum! It will be one year next week since my hair transplant from Dr. Buchwach and team. Its amazing how better i feel and look since then. Let me start off by saying i was completely nervous and anxious about doing this, I had 2nd and 3rd thoughts about not doing it, however after visiting Dr buchwach prior to the surgery my fears were eliminated and i felt very confident in going forward with it. And thankfully looking back it has been one of the best decisions of my life!! Everything from the day of the surgery to post surgery everything has been great.. There was very little discomfort during surgery and after. I was back to work in 3 days after. My new hair started to grow within 2 months and had a full head of hair after 4 months and it continued to get thicker and fuller. I was told i might need 2 surgeries for the look i was trying to achieve, but after just one surgery i am totally thrilled with my results. I want to say thank you to Dr buchwach and team for restoring my confidence again.

I am posting this review 3 days after my hair transplant surgery.Have heard the expression; Midwest people are the salt of the earth? This is Dr. Kenneth Buchwach. Dr. Buchwach answered the phone ( first ring) on a Saturday and spoke to me for 45 minutes about the different types of procedures. He spoke matter of fact and never tried to sales talk me, rather, he wanted to see me first. While we were on the phone, he told me to grab the hair on the back of my head and see if its tight or it wiggles. I told him that it wiggled and he said I might be a good candidate for the strip technique. Right away I got a good feeling about Dr. Buchwach. He does both FUT and FUE so you get an honest evaluation of each technique.I flew out to Kansas from California. I met Dr. Buchwach and Sandy ( 30 year plus nurse & friend ) who knows probably just as much as Dr. Buchwach, and felt totally comfortable as if I was in my own home. They bring you into their home and talk to you face to face. He will let you know if you are a good candidate or not; its as simple as that. His prices are posted on his website. Yes, he is less expensive than most, but each case is different and he wants to you to get the most coverage for the best result. That is his goal. This is one on one attention and they treat you with dignity and respect.He confirmed that I was a good candidate for the strip technique and a date was set for the following week.The procedure lasted all day. He was very detailed, and meticulous, measuring from the top of my head to the bridge of my nose, then to the top sides of my head, ensuring that I have Symmetry. He is an Artist and will create a custom hairline that is perfect for your face. I felt extremely comfortable in his hands.The second part of the day was transplanting to the pre-determined recipient site by Dr. Buchwach. The wonderful surgical team of Brianna and Xeng transplanted each and every one of my 2199 hair grafts with patience and care. They never rushed to get the job done by 5, rather they did the job right. Dr. Buchwach even gave me some of his wifes home baked bread and it was delicious.You will get complete detailed and thorough instructions to take home. Follow the instructions! Be patient, all will go well!The following day, a strong gust of Kansas wind blew my car door right onto my head. Dr. Buchwach told me to come right back so he could take a look. He told me I was fine and just be patient, the results will be well worth the wait.I highly recommend Dr. Buchwach and his team. You are getting a true professional and personal experience from beginning to end. I will post my results once my hair begins to grow and then 6 months, 12 months and so on.You know that feeling you get in your gut about people you meet in life? Im writing a review with the information I wanted when I began researching this procedure years ago. For those who dont care for detail I will save you some reading--ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. DO IT. If you are seriously considering this then Dr Buchwach is the guy and his facility is the place. For those who want to know why I say this I will share my experience: Over two years ago at age 50 I was watching TV late at night and one of those Bosley infomercials came on. I always had a full head of hair and I while I was not a model I was in a profession where looks made a difference. The next morning, even though embarrassed by my vanity, I made an appointment at Bosley in St. Louis. The appointment went well--The people were nice and overall professional. It was a sales job but at some level I wanted to be sold. I told them I wanted to talk it over with my wife but pretty much planned on doing it, to the point where I scheduled an appointment. That night the reality that I was going through with it set in. On a whim and as a way to perhaps gain confidence I started researching and reviewing Bosley and the procedure itself. Somehow, and thankfully, I stumbled on Dr. Buchwachs website. I noticed that his cost were roughly ONE THIRD of Bosleys. (Its not cheap so a third of the cost equates to thousands) I sent an email and immediately received a response from Dr. Buchwach himself. He was out of the country and would call in a day or so when he returned. That alone impressed me. He called as promised and I can tell you it was much more informative speaking to the actual doctor than a salesman at a satellite St Louis office working on commission. After more on line research I scheduled the procedure. I drove to Kansas City the night before the procedure and met with Dr. Buchwach that evening. He showed me his facility, beautiful by the way, and patiently answered all questions and concerns. I had already received VERY detailed instructions from his staff, all of whom were incredibly nice and professional, but I was nervous! Early the next morning I arrived for the procedure. It wasnt pleasant but it wasnt painful. I was fairly numb but make no mistakes, it IS a detailed procedure and you are worked on. Basically you watch TV or listen to music while you lie there and let the Doctor and his staff go to work. Hours later I was on my feet and heading out. They made sure I was very clear on the post procedure instructions, both verbally and in writing. If there is a negative I will say my hair looked much thinner than I thought it would for the immediate months following, but I was told that would be the case. For a while I wore a baseball cap and eventually used Topix, a colored powder you sprinkle on your hair to hide thinness. (Had a wedding) I dont recall exactly how long it took but eventually the hair did grow. My bald yarmulke (if youre Jewish you know) filled in. And at Dr. Buchwachs suggestion he worked on the front--THAT really made a difference. My daughters (I told them I was using rogaine but did not mention the procedure) now say, boy daddy that foam stuff works! You dont have that big bald spot anymore! It has been slightly over two years and I enjoy my full head of hair. Vanity or not it makes a difference. Whether I had questions before, immediately following or even a few years later, Dr. Buchwach ALWAYS responded promptly and patiently. (A good thing if youre neurotic like me) The bottom line is he and his staff and facility are the real deal. They do what they say theyll do in a professional + affordable way, and most importantly it works. If there is anyone who really wants further information and to speak with someone who has been down this road, you can contact their office and leave your information.
