This is not the Lancaster Public Library. This is an administrative office and is not open to the public. It does not provide printing, wifi, or materials circulation. This is not a library. The Lancaster Public Library is currently located on Duke Street.
Arcane, non-uniform hours and policies. ALL are closed on Sundays. VERY user unfriendly to rational, thinking adults. All about baby-sitting, book fairs and raising money. Embarrassing that a library system - of all things - is this far behind the times.
I went to Moores Memorial Library in Christiana, Pennsylvania. It was a lovely library. Very friendly staff and a nice book store.
The actual library is extremely hard to find and even worse to get to. Traffic and location make this library a nightmare to get to. I would use another library like Columbia, Mountville, Manheim or Lititz and utilize an interlibrary loan if a particular book is only at Lancaster. I will never go back to this library because of the horrible experience of navigating my way there.
Ohh..boy, Where is the actual liberary located at?
The phone system is horrible. When I dialed 0, the system thanks me and hangs up! Never did get through to a human after over an hour of effort.
The hard stance against loitering seems to run counter to the mission of the member libraries.
Very wonderful, helpful people here!
Place is narley dude
