WIFI Connection is NOT Available !Or any other WiFi nearby. Macdonald has it but 5 min away, just secure websites wont connect.Overall not so bad. They have strict Christian based rules, cant stay together with your significant other in the same sleeping area( bring your own pillow ) or have visible relationships. No smoking outside only in designated smoke boxes. Or across the street. Youll get Pink Slip if caught. No eating or drinking besides water in sleeping area. Brake their rules 3 times and youre out.Three meals a day ( 20 min to get it) snacks sometimes, coffee all day ( strong, not tasty ) water bottles, ice.If they have clothes, you get them just ask. Also there is Water Mission Health Center. Even after you leave this place, you are allowed to refill meds they gave you.Case managers and life coaches are usually nice, but it doesnt mean they will help you at all or in timely manner. The 1st week there doesnt count towards your 2 months stay. After this time is up, you have to leave for 1 month but then you can came back again.Every Wednesday they play Bingo at 2pm.Prizes are limited to donations. It depends on what they got that week. You can win 2 times, third you must choose someone even if they dont play.

Housekeepers need to improve in cleaning. Thé leaders are humble. I left my pocketbook in bathroom and it was returned. Nothing was stolen

This is a community program helping members of our community facing tough times. We always need more volunteers and with current events our need is even greater. Unfortunately our local politicians only come by to help as a photo op and could not care less about the less fortunate. This is a service our community needs in everyone’s life they have all had someone they were grateful for. Be that person volunteer and help those who truly need a hand.

I have gotten food here a couple times. Some of the food is expired and mouldy especially the bread. This is serious as it could get someone severely sick or even kill someone. I have pointed it out to staff and their suggestion is to throw it out. Which isnt actually helping you if youre there for the food bank and dont have any food. Either eat the expired mouldy food and risk getting sick or go hungry. Only recommend if you have no other choice and that you thoroughly inspect the food.

The volunteer staff are warm and friendly. They are ready and eager to assist volunteers in what they need and explaining what needs to be done! I have found that talking with the residents has been a rewarding experience. The residents are always ready to greet me and always have something positive and encouraging to say. I believe that giving back to the community touches everyone like a ripple in a pond.Thank you, everyone at Water Street Mission!

I give 2 stars Because the mission does a lot of good in some ways and a lot in bad ways. Always can improve which it has in last 10 years.They do their best in the emergency shelter during winter time. People are given plenty to eat and warm place to sleep. But trying to get a shower with 40 plus people and 2 showers (8:30 pm -9:45pm) is a joke.As far as program and 30 day shelter contracts. They are trying but the results are not what even the people that work there expected. Which should be tweaked somewhat. 30 days is not enough time if your working to find suitable/affordable housing, 60-90 days more realistic. They should bring back the work program where people pay 25% housing fee,25% individuals keep, and 50 % escrow for housing grant.The same people come in every other month for years and years now without any progress. I am grateful bc they helped me out but I never stayed more than 30 days and last being 4 years ago.I wish the Mission/Council of Churches/ City/present mayor would work together for a better solution as the current program last any where from 6-24 months with single digit success rate. Lancaster is no longer a homeless friendly city like it was 10 years ago. What will happen as things continue building up in the city?The mission is technically a private homeless shelter and is directed by it board and wealthy donors to run as they wish, not what is realistic and present needs of individuals and community as a whole

The water street mission is providing amazing support to the homeless. Their medical clinic is amazing.

I meet clients here for work (county crisis intervention counselor). Very organized, they offer many services. Theres never a perfect way to implement social services of this level, but the staff here do an excellent job. They really seem to care, and thats reassuring.

I mate Jesus Christ in this place and my life was restored and transformed because of it. God is using this place as a light house for our community. I love this place because it also gives opportunity to all who wants to give back to the community. They love everyone who walks through their doors as they are. Love motivates everything that is done and said to the guest of Water Street Mission.

I had the privileged of helping them serve breakfast again here recently. The y do a great job of providing for the needs of those that find themselves in tight spots.I feel they are a very well run organization that is sharing the love of christ with many people in Lancaster.

For a backpack place to stay out of weather conditions it is a good start. However, I wouldnt bring any perishable items, it is hard to keep track of them when there is little to no vacancy.Staff seems friendly, residents are dedicated to keeping items safely secured.Thanks for my Christmas when there appeared to be no hope.Kuhns Hall was willing to barter clean laundry for a simple chore as in sweeping/cleaning or keeping areas neat and bug free.

Homeless shelter that makes you pay rent um ok its not a homeless shelter its just there for them to make money you start working 4 to 6 months of being there but have to start paying the first month and contributing so the fact the the people in the residential program have to work and do the same things that the life coaches do but instead of calling it a job its called doing your TASK

They Kicked out a woman for being 15 min late because she had a miscarage, this is a Christian based facility, Since when do they do this to people, and they close showers on weekends so the room smells after 2 days in dead heat, their food quality is very very poor. They are only christian based because of Chapel services to maintain a bed spot, i dont like this at all

Water Street Mission can best be described as the one scene from Fight Club where Tyler Durden tries to break the men before they can be let in the house. The Mission, in your 1st seven days, makes you stand outside in a line to have your name taken and put on a list to maybe get a bed at 6:15 than come back at 8:30 to see if you can actually be accommodated.Life coaches say theyll help and you can talk to them anytime, yet when you try to speak to them, they cant be bothered. Ron is a complete do-nothing, so dont waste your time trying to speak to him; hes also unnecessarily rude..The only people who are helpful are Ted who is a life coach and the trama counselor Lenny.They also play favorites... certain people get away with walking in drunk, some high, others will be thrown out for no reason whatsoever. A peck on the cheek from your significant other is essentially against their law here. And the air conditioners are full of black mold. It causes them to leak water onto the beds and floors, which are covered in garbage underneath. (Ill post photos if I can figure out how to). If it were possible to rate 0 stars, I would have. If you enjoy meeting people that clearly extort donated funds, cant be bothered to do their job and help you, and treat you like garbage telling you (hypocritically) that youre the devil and broken, this is the perfect place for you.. Enjoy your stay in hell. The American Constitution does not apply here.You might as well just sleep on the street. Youll enjoy it more.

Water Street Mission in my opinion is an unGoldy based orginization due to the fact that people recently have got thrown out and kicked out due to things they havent even done. All Water Street Mission is about is..(on a Mission to get money. Thats all they care abut and dont even give you time to help yourself.. They expect you not to work for 4 to 6 months and focus on yourself spiritualy which you can do anywhere and then when you go through the program some people has taken them almost 2 years to complete it without working...How do you expect us to work on ourselves and get a job and all that when...Oh if we stay and do residential we cant work or we get thrown out on the streets!!! Like If yall say you are A Godly Based Organization yall wouldnt freaking throw people on the streets without no job..i should know I am a christian and that sure isnt what Christianity and Christians are all about!!!

Im going to say this one time, I came here to town after leaving Georgia from an Edema attack. I needed to recover and work, I found a job but I didnt have money for rent, the same day I worked I went to the mission, I ate, and got a bed, the food is wonderful, I laid down after sitting for almost hour and half, for the bed and shower. They called out names, they gave showers, then handed me my badge that took an hour of paperwork to complete, and told me I would not get a shower and I was the last person. I had to got bed without a shower. I will never stay there again.

This place is a God send. They help anyone willing to be ready open and willing.

People no adiestrated emocional,lover or social live. The weekend it is no good maner to good language, to tescue residents. They need employer with more knowloge in social Services. And no matter what who look for help,have toó gives help. That isnt a jail, are human been like you and me.

They feed me but dont support homeless people who walk with walkers or canes !

They do great work in our community. I thank God for WSM

Went to water Street rescue mission and was told I cannot get a bed unless I bow to their God. Nothing but a religious cult.

This place does nothing to help anyone with an addiction. Its a glorified place to stay for the homeless. On a weekend they have to stay out of their rooms from the time they get up till after supper. I just think this place is useless.

They try an brake u down to build you up smh wrong not ever body here is a drug user my house just happen to burn so why Im I getting told if I dont go to anger classes I will be thrown out thats wrong.

Stressful, too much drama, no showers for women on weekends but for men, the building is closed all weekend except sleeping and lunch and dinner.

Horrible.. has black mold in sleeping areas. They will not take care of it. People being hospitalized because of it I wish I could give it zero stars!
