I was looking for a doctor when i moved to lancaster and finally i was blessed to be guided by jesus to my doctor in this location. And let me said that i never had any issues with doctor or staff its been a blessing. And for those that said that they call for having results over the phone. Doesnt work that way by LAW. DR.MCclain God Bless You.

I hardly write reviews, but it’s time I find a new doctor. I have been so disappointed With the level of care, response, and organization at this practice! They don’t call back with lab results, I’m constantly following up with them, they “lost labs” and then after much follow up up “found them”.... just incredibly frustrated with the run around I get every time I go there!! Please look elsewhere and save yourself the frustration.

Dr. McLane could not care less about the issue you are coming in for. Most times he will just stick his head in the room and ask questions without little to no response. If you care about your health and patient doctor relationship I would stay far far away from this practice. Again, He is short and disinterested with the reason you are visiting. Very disappointing to see. Would not recommend.

I have been coming to Lancaster family practice since moving here about three years ago. The entire staff is kind and professional. I have always had Lisa who is a wonderful and knowledgeable nurse. She makes you feel comfortable and you can ask her anything. I have been seeing Dr. Wolf. He is a great doctor. He is very professional and I feel like he really cares about his patients. I would highly recommend this practice.

I have been a patient here for about 3 years. I had an appointment today with Dr. McClane. Now, I will admit, I havent been to see him in about a year. Basically, because of COVID and the thought that when you are referred to a specialist for certain issues you tend to see the specialist more than the primary care physician. The moment he walked into my room, he began fussing at me about why he hasnt seen me, whose feeling your prescriptions, when was the last time you saw your specialist??? I just said, whoa Dr. McClane, let me breath. I then said to him that Hey, I did get a BP of 130/80 which is great considering I have been wrestling with 170/120s NOT a minute of response about what seemed to be a great BP reading after wrestling for years with high BP. This was the straw that broke the camels back! When he came back, he literally cracked the door open, peeked his head in, told me that He took care of all the prescription adjustments and would like to see me in a month He CRACKED THE DOOR OPEN and told me that from half way in the hallway and then closed the door. I opened the door, went to the door of his office and told him I will be looking for a new PCP. He said fine and that was it. While I admit I was wrong for not seeing him in about a year, I thought that his whole demeanor towards me from start to finish was not necessary, nor-in my opinion-a professional way for a doctor to deal with his patient. Hope this review helps people in their decision making process with Dr. McClane

I think this a great practice. I was referred here by a friend, and would refer a friend as well. I have never had an issue getting an appointment. I always see Dr. T. Quinn and my nurse is Faith. They always make me feel comfortable. I never feel judged, which is important to me. Dr Quinn is always upfront and honest. Every referral he has sent for me has been followed up by staff. Everywhere he has referred me have been wonderful practitioners as well. I left one star out for front desk staff. Not crazy about one woman in particular; but everyone else makes up for it!

The receptionists are consistently very rude, but if you can get past them the doctors and nurses are amazing. Good Luck.

Never coming back to this office. I only went there once to understand that I need to be looking for an alternative. Ive never had worse customer service - the receptionist on the phone is very unfriendly, and when I arrived the attitude didnt change a bit. The doctor didnt ask me about a single concern about my health (and I had many, thats why people come in to see a doctor). He was basically ready to walk out of the door after seeing that everything on paper looked fine, so the doctor didnt make the effort to explore any issues I might be heaving. When you come in whether you are in good health or not you expect everyone to be aware, friendly, helpful and intuitive, at the end of the day, thats at the core of the business you are in!

December 24, 2019. I took my teenager here to get his physical for his driving permit. I figured Id kill two birds with one stone, and get his school physical done at the same time. Huge mistake! After asking questions about his grades and sleep pattern the doctor refused to sign the permit physical. He wanted my son to get a full psychological evaluation before he would approve it. I was also told by the doctor he wanted a drug test. I did not feel that was necessary. Mind you now, this is CHRISTMAS EVE, and all I wanted for my son was for him to able to get his permit over holiday break. I was told when we left the office we would get a call about the results later that afternoon. NO ONE called us back that day. I went through Christmas day doubting and questioning my own child. This doctor had me thinking my son was a danger to himself or society. He is a normal 16 year old boy.I have called the office manager several times to talk about the situation. I have asked for an other doctor in the practice to see my son. I was told by her all the doctors back each other up, and that would not happen. Last week I recieved a Bill for the drug test I never even wanted. $258...which came back NEGATIVE by the way!!!😠😠😠 I had also asked for acne meds...I got a script for $214. Crazy!!This morning I took my son to an Urgent care and got his physical. $50. Wish I would have done that first. We will be looking for a new PCP.

I developed a stye when I was traveling for work and stopped at an Urgent care. They gave me an eye cream and after about 4 weeks of it getting better and then worse I made an 8am appointment at Lancaster Family Practice to be seen. I was hoping to receive a stronger cream or maybe an oral antibiotic. My typical doctor was not in, but I couldnt tell you the name of the doctor I saw because he never introduced himself or seemed like he even wanted to help. I was given one word responses to my questions, was told an oral medication would not be helpful at all, given a script for an eye drop, and he was out within 2 minutes. I was told if this eye drop did nothing within 2 weeks I would need to see an Ophthalmologist and the stye may need to be surgically removed. I left, picked up my script at CVS, and went back to work.Around 10am (shortly after returning to work) I received a call from a receptionist at Lancaster Family Practice telling me they have an appointment for me at 11:30 at a local Ophthalmologist. I then had to explain to them what the doctor told me and I called to cancel the appointment. A- I could not make that appointment since I just got back to work and B- I did not want to pay for an extra doctor visit when I never got the chance to use the eye drop prescribed. After almost 2 weeks of the eye drops doing nothing, I made an appointment with my eye doctor who is also an optometrist to see if he could help. He gave me an oral antibiotic and steroid cream and the stye cleared up in a few days.I have only been going to this practice for about 5 years, but it has slowly been getting worse and I will be switching to a new practice. They seem like they just want to get you in an out to charge you with no actual care for their patients needs.

I have no complaints with the exception of the new front desk employees. I agree the receptionist is less than helpful. Makes you feel like you are wasting her time. If she does not know the answer she will not go out of her way to find it. Too bad this is the new face of an otherwise excellent practice.

*** Updated Review: I did call the UPMC Pinnacle customer service number provided and got to speak with a really sympathetic woman who said she would pass my complaint along. As for the health form I needed filled out, after four phone calls, one in person visit to drop it off (because email is not a reliable way to communicate with them, Im told by my favorite front desk associate), and 6 days of waiting, I had to go back to the office and stand at the front desk to make it clear I would not leave without it, and they finally got it completed. I had to get this same form filled out by 2 other practices and both of them took it from me and did it while I waited, so I think their process here was extremely unreasonable. ***My family has been going here for years and its time for us to find somewhere new - the Dr care is decent but the front desk staff has been horrible the entire time, I feel like every single call I make. I had a few questions on a heath form I needed and the woman was really beyond nasty. Even just booking an appointment I feel extremely unwanted. The last time I tried to book a well check my receptionist said Well, it will be at least 10 days if there is nothing wrong with you. I would have been fine with that time frame but she made it seem like such a hassle I hung up! I would complain but they are part of UPMC now so Im not sure theyd even care? I mean, in house they have to be able to hear whats going on on the phones. Going to the Dr is a difficult thing for some people. They least they could do is have a friendly point of first contact. If youre not already a patient, pick somewhere else.
