I contacted Heather and was able to get a puppy from her 3 1/2 years ago. The offspring of Saucy and Reese. What someone needs to understand is that this couple is serious about their dogs and serious about their competing. Its what they do. I saw a few comments about puppy mill. Far from it. You dont invest in the facility to accommodate for the dogs the way they have if thats what you are going to do. In addition, these are AKC breeders and select dogs to that standard. You can see in the picture of my dog that she meets that perfectly.Heather was in good communication with me through the whole process. Someone mentioned their dog was much younger based on a vets observation. I saw my litter prior early and had to wait a full 8 weeks before getting her. Heather administered the shots in front of me with the stickers. Gave guidance on nutrition and food so as not to promote quick bone development, instead a slower, stronger development.This is the most intensely alert and athletic dog Ive ever seen. She never misses a sound, movement etc. around the house. She literally will watch the TV, every thing that moves. When I get together with my dog group friends, shes always the last one standing. They play, chase each other, run after balls, all of that. These are labs, goldens, shepherds etc. Shes in constant motion circling all the other dogs ... herding them. This can go on for an hour and a half. When theyre down, she still has gas in the tank after logging in multiples of the distance they have. Beautiful dog, long coat, great markings and ears. People always remark on her looks. But the BC isnt for everyone, you have to look past the looks. This one is smart, strong willed and independent. Moments of affection are to be cherished. Ive had her long enough now I can read her body language, view a situation and know exactly what she is going to do. Shes not shy about showing her emotions dont mess with me, Ive not had breakfast.Our other dog is a BC/Golden mix. Poor guy, she tells him exactly what to do all the time. Im as dialed into her as she is to me. Shes my constant shadow wherever I go. Wouldnt want it any other way. PowerHouse, perfect name for the dogs they breed. Just be sure youre up to the task of taking care of and living with a Border Collie. If not, go get a cocker spaniel.

4 years ago, I was looking for an older Border Collies, as this is was my first dog, and found this breader online. Heather was really nice and we were able to visit to meet Story which turned to best the best dog ever. She dogs have quite a few dogs, but it does not feel like a puppy mills at all. She just loves dog and are taking good care of them. All the dogs seems really happy and well behaved.As we loved our sweet girl so much, we wanted to get another one to have some company and a playmate. We got a wonderful male, Leo. Both of them are family oriented dog and absolutely wonderful. Once we are ready for another dog, we will definitely go back.

Our girl Belka came from powerhouse two years ago and she is the best purchase of my life. She is the most gorgeous dog I’ve ever seen and the most obedient dog I’ve ever had. She’s very high energy at times and sometimes she’s also very mellow, a very good temperament for a family dog whose owners like to be active. I can’t say enough nice things about her.I also looked through some of the pictures of their other dogs. Almost all of them have the textbook border collie show dog appearance with uniform patterns and beautiful long coats. Definitely a good place to buy BCs if that’s what you care about and trust me once you see them, you will.Heather has over 25 years of BC breeding experience and was very responsive during the entire process. I’ve been telling all my friends about this breeder because after meeting Belka, everyone wants a border collie.

We were excited to get a puppy from Borderhouse. After doing our research they seemed reputable and had a nice website with plenty of information. Don’t be fooled.We were told we were getting a puppy from one liter, then when I emailed she told me the name of a different female that was pregnant, finally sent pictures after I asked several times, then when we arrived on the day of pick up she gave us a completely different dog from a different liter we didn’t even know they had.We kept asking if we were getting a boy or girl up to the day (I asked 4 times) we didn’t find out until we got there.When we arrived there were A LOT of dogs on this farm, with three liters that we knew of at the time. Pretty sure this place is a puppy mill.When we got home we took him for a check up, and asked for a stool sample at our vets. It came back with roundworms, coccidia, and giardia. Almost $500 and two weeks later we have him on 2 different meds for the parasites and now had to get a probiotic and antibiotic for diarrhea he’s had since we got him.It’s has been a total nightmare and I wouldn’t suggest getting a dog from this place that “guarantees a healthy puppy”Heather’s response when we told her he had all these worms and parasites was that “it’s normal for puppies”. No it’s not, I’ve had dogs my whole life and never have any of them had this many parasites.DO NOT BUY HERE

We got our beautiful dog Leo from PowerHouse in November 2018. Hes the most amazing dog, very healthy, sweet, and extremely intelligent. Our experience with Heather was very positive, she gave us good advise, and helped us pick a puppy that would be best suited for our family.

I bought my Blue Merle BC from here when she was supposedly 10 weeks old. Went to 3 different vets who determined she was much younger than stated based on her teeth. My girl is almost 1 year now and has the sweetest temperament but has many heath issues with lots of visits to the vet for various reasons. Came home from Powerhouse with fleas, needed treatment for worms 3 times, and currently being treated for juvenile urinary incontinence. Haven’t had a dog this young with so many medical issues. Bad genes? I don’t know but can’t give more than 3 stars as I am suspicious about their breeding practices. Only gave the stars because I love my dog to pieces and despite the frequent and costly vet visits, wouldn’t trade her in.

We received a beautiful female BC. She has a kind temperament and is a very driven dog and a good friend to our other dog, a border collie mix. She is not a large dog and will sit on our lap or hop up for some love. Heather is very professional. If I get another dog, the first place I’ll look is Power House Border Collies. We looked all over the internet and found these border collies. We live in Santa Barbara and drove to pick up a girl puppy for my son. He could not be happier. She is the sweetest puppy and beyond smart. She enjoys her home just one block from the beach. The owners were nice and all the dogs are well cared for and the place is clean. I would definitely recommend getting a puppy here.Just make sure you have a lot of gas because the one gas station was out of order and there is nothing around for miles.Thank you for our happy healthy puppy Athena!!

We got our dog from Heather. Our dog is super sweet and we love him. It may take while to finish the evaluation but I think its a good thing to be responsible to the pup. May consider have another one from Power house in future.

We got our dog Roo from Powerhouse in October of 2017. She is absolutely perfect! Longer haired, medium sized (35 pounds full grown), energetic, sweet, healthy, great as a family pet. We love her to pieces and will definitely buy from powerhouse again if we want to add another crazy border collie to our family someday.

I picked up my border collie Cali Girl from Heather in December 2016. Shes healthy, gorgeous, intelligent, playful, great with our kids, and very well bred; she doesnt bark unless someone unexpected comes to the door. These dogs have traditional longer coats than they typical coyote border collie short hair, which is suitable for all weather.

So after reading the reviews, I was weary about going in. But Heather was great! Im not sure why people didnt like her. It could be because she is straight to the point and doesnt beat around the bush. She tells you everything like it is! She showed us the boys and girls (they are separated by play pen which makes it really easy. It was hard to pick one out since the whole litter had the same tone/manner/characteristics which is pretty calm. She even showed us parents of one of the litters.By the time it came to the decision as to which to pick, she was able to narrow it down for us based on how the pups interacted when we first entered the create. We had an eye on one but we noticed there was another pup that didnt come up to us at first but once he saw his litter mates come up he then proceeded to come towards us. Heather helped narrow down the choices to two...then later recommended which pup to get (we chose the one that waited to come to us vs. the one they call spot since he was a cutie! have to remember not to choose a pup by how they look but also their characteristics)..After we chose a pup, she brought him inside and gave him a bath while we sign the contact and papers. She had a copy ready for us to give and also performed the vaccinations in front of us since there have been reports from vets that she doesnt give the shots..let me tell yah I SAW IT AND SHE GAVE IT! so thats that..she also placed the stickers of the vaccines on the contract as well to show to the vet.Overall, I really liked power house border collies! They were great..didnt think of it as a puppy mill at all. She just has a ton of dogs ...I mean thats what a breeder is isnt it?...

Beware of this breeder. Likely a puppy mill. They are solely money driven and lack empathy for their clients and puppies. Bad customer service and no business ethics. Stay away.

I camp on my property a mile from this place occasionally and I hear those damn dogs all night....need to get them under control! 😠😠😠
