Our dog was special and we were at the end of our rope with her. She had tremendous strength, stamina and will power for a 55lb 7 month old. Program exceeded my expectations. I went into this with a 10 month old dog that was getting a little out of hand on walks and not coming when called or listening to basic commands. I did the board and Train program and the results when I picked him up were immediate. The program overall exceeded expectations as the commands are easy to follow. I also found that I learned how to better interact and maintain the training. Its been nearly a month since we completed the program and there has been no regression and many commands he is responding too without any stimulation. I was skeptical, even with all the favorable reviews, that there would be a quick turnaround. I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend the program who does not have the time or patience to dedicate to dog training, its absolutely worth the cost.*I was not paid or solicited for feedback.

We did the 3 day private lessons with our 2 year old German Shepherd and it has made such a remarkable difference with our dog! We had basic obedience skills but we needed some work with walking and respect around other dogs and people. We have achieved that and more! Terry spends the time training us to make sure we are successful with our dog. I’m AMAZED at the overall improvement in all of us! Our 6-month-old lab puppy, Blitz, needed some good ole fashion obedience skills - and we just did not have the time (or patience) to do it ourselves, so in came Terry to the rescue! We sent Blitz to stay with him for five days, and when we went to pick him up, he was a brand new puppy! He stays on place when told...he will walk with you on his leash (and even without!!!) and doesnt tug at you...he will go into his kennel when told and theres no fight trying to get him in there...he will patiently sit and wait to be told to go inside/outside instead of knocking you out of the way...these are just a handful of examples of how Blitz was incredibly trained by THE BEST DOG TRAINER! We cannot say anything but wonderful things about Terry - so if you need some guidance - big or small - call him! He is AMAZING!

Great experience with Terry training our dog Pike. It was our first family dog and a rescue, a little under a year old, with amazing results. After just a couple of lessons Pike walks off leash and listens to basic commands very well. Always so surprising to see how quickly and seemingly easily our dog could learn commands and train thanks to Terry. Also- they are very responsive to messages, communicating reminder appointments, etc. Looking forward to continuing some group classes here as well. Pike graduated today from basic obedience! Woohoo!

Terry Cook is the man! He trained our 6 month old GSD and let me tell you what our puppy is amazing now. We did the 10 day Board and Train. Amazing what 10 days can do. He uses positive reinforcement training. I would recommend everyone who needs their dog trained to go to Terry!

We brought our insanely hyperactive 10 month old standard schnoodle, Pongo, here for a 10 day board and train in November 2019. He is the most stubborn dog Ive ever met and has a very dominant personality. He likes to be in charge and he likes to act crazy all the time. My husband and I were losing our minds trying to train him and were constantly embarrassed by his behavior. I waited a few months after my dog completed a 10 day board and train here to write a review to see if things actually stuck and improved. When we first took Pongo home, he was great, but over time we really struggled to get him to listen and respect us. I called Terrys team back and told them that we were struggling and they did not hesitate to schedule one-on-one lessons with us and a trainer for no additional charge. When they say you have a lifetime guarantee, they really mean it! We even had a trainer come to our house for a lesson and work on the specific behaviors that were causing us trouble. I could tell they really wanted to help us and work on our especially difficult pup together. We learned that a great deal of the training has to come from the owners and you really have to stick with it and be firm. I am so happy we took our dog here and I know they will continue to support us and help us with any issues that arise. Everyone here is so nice and truly cares about the dogs placed in their care. I absolutely recommend Terry Cook for dog training. We just got our dog Sasha back 2 days ago from Terrys board and train program; we couldnt be happier!!! The results have truly been life-changing! Sasha was very hyper and had a severe mouthing/nipping problem, was a counter surfer, chewer, destroyer of things etc. You name it, the list went on with her behavior issues. I had my doubts if it was even possible to straighten her out. Terry Cook and his team including Matt and Bridget were excellent to work with in training our feisty yellow Labrador Retriever. We highly recommend them and they are good to their word. Our dog was still our sweet adorable puppy yet now we could walk her on a leash without her taking us for a ride, comes on command along with all the other key commands and sits at place like a perfect angel! Our dog Lucy is a different dog after her 7 day training with Terry. She is a 3.5 year old Pitbull rescue. She was so afraid of men and would not even go near them when a male friend would come to our home. She would just bark CONSTANTLY. When female friends would come over she would not stop jumping on them. We were not able to take her anywhere. When we would walk her we had to put a gentle leader, collar, and harness on her because she would pull so hard it hurt and shake her head and get out of her collars when she would see another dog . Now she is walking OFF a leash and is able to have such a better quality of life. She goes to the dog bark all the time and we are able to have company over for her and us to enjoy. Our dog Lexie completed a 10 day board and train in mid-June 2020. The facility is outstanding and the care and attention given to the dog is evident. Lexie enrolled as good dog without much discipline-she left the program eager to continue her learning and please her people. She was primarily supervised and trained by Matt who carefully and patiently reviewed the commands the dog learned while there. Matt also scheduled a follow-on visit to review our training and assist in smoothing out any questions and issues we were experiencing. All in all, we are very pleased to have sent Lexie to this experience-the surroundings, staff and training provided is simply first-rate. Our dog Checkers is a 6 year old, multiple home rescue. She is a Pitt mix. Very anxious and dog aggressive. Went after 2 dogs after a month having her and she was allegedly dog friendly. She pulled on the leash and had separation anxiety. She also would run away. We did the 10 day boarding and training. I was extremely anxious about leaving her there, the collar, and how she would do after. She is truly a changed dog. The day we picked her up, we played frisbee outside off leash in our non fenced in yard. She is less anxious and listens. We still have work, but in 10 days, they had her trained to be around other dogs without attacking. I walked her comfortably on the leash. I adopted my dog, Annie from the shelter when she was four years old. She would pull on the leash and go nuts when another dog walked by us. Since she was older I didnt think there was anything that could be done, but Terrys dog training helped Annie tremendously. She is now a pleasure to walk and doesnt get bothered by other dogs!! I dropped off my 3 year old Beagle boxer mix to terry cook for the 10 day board and train. It’s only been a few hours home and I seriously can not believe it. It was the best decision I’ve made as a dog mom. I had problem with Lola barking non stop and jumping on the kids. We just ordered pizza I made Lola goTo her place and she didn’t bark or move untilI told her. I am truly amazed. From the start everyone there was super friendly and very helpful. We were looking for some dog training for our 7 month old Pug puppy. He didnt have any major issues, but we wanted to get him a base to obey commands. We enrolled our Pug, Shiloh, in the board and training and have been very pleased with the outcome. Performing this training on our own wouldve required much more time and expertise that we didnt have. Everyone has commented on how well behaved he is. Terry and his team were wonderful.

Terry was amazing with our 1 year old mixed breed dog Remington. Before we started our private lessons with Terry, Remington was out of control...Jumping, Knocking People over, nipping, chewing things up and barking ALL THE TIME! He was very difficult to walk on the leash. He is a large dog with a lot of strength and would pull us. Remington was also terrible about counter surfing and stealing food in any way he could.Now after 3 short lessons (and our homework) Remington is much more enjoyable to be around. He listens to commands and responds very well to everyone. We cant wait to continue Remingtons learning and going to the lifetime Saturday morning classes.

Well worth doing for any dog. Susie is a star pupil and is such a wonderful dog after the training. She is doing exactly what they said she would after training; I could hardly believe it! Highly recommend.

Bar none, the single best dog trainer in central Ohio. We have a problematic, highly reactive pup (7 years old). We have attempted every type of training over the years, and thought there was no solving our pups behavioral problems. Terry Cook and his training program are amazing, though, and in three short weeks we have made exceptional progress with walking behavior and leash reactivity. We cannot sing Terrys praises enough. Our new puppy to the family was quite a terror. Introducing a puppy into a pack of older dogs, cats and people was going terribly. We needed help with our 2yr old lab/shepherd mix, Diesel, who walked us and had major socialization issues, which caused him to be agressive toward people he didnt know. After meeting with Terry we opted for the 10 day board and train program. Initially we were worried how Diesel would react to us leaving him, but Terry and his team immediately put us as ease. Their facility is awesome and we just knew we were leaving him in great hands. Matt was Diesels primary trainer and he is AMAZING! He took time to call us with updates on Diesels progress and he spent over 2 hours with us when we picked Diesel up to show us what Diesel learned and to teach us how to continue his training. We could tell he truly cared about Diesel and are so grateful to him for all the time he spent with him and for everything he taught him. Diesels change in behavior is simply unbelievable. After coming home I enjoyed a nice long walk with Diesel past cats, people, and other dogs and distractions (which is something I wasnt able to do before because he was so hard to control). One of our neighbors even noticed and commented on how well behaved he was. We couldnt be happier the results and highly recommend Terry and his team to anyone who is looking for a dog trainer.

Terry Cook promised us off leash control of our dog, a frightful AST mix that we rescued from Columbus Humane 3 months ago. Hes around 1 year old. He delivered. Today I walked our dog off leash around the neighborhood. He followed my verbal commands and did not stray from my side. 3 lessons. He is worth every penny. Give him a call and setup your training. You wont regret it!

We brought our 2 year old German Shepherd Avery to Terry for the two week board and train. She is a totally different dog now, her anxiety has really Improved, she listens, stopped chasing our cat and is a happy dog. Terry was upfront and honest about the whole process. I was a little skeptical of the training collar, but after he explained how they work, we felt much better. They also sent pictures while she was gone which made us feel so much better. The grounds were clean and nice and we will use Terry for our future boarding needs. Its nice that we can now take her to places knowing she will be a good girl! Thanks again.

Terry and the training staff were wonderful with our Max. Max jumped and mouthed my husband and me constantly and would not follow simple commands. There were times I thought we had made a mistake getting a puppy which greatly saddened me because I love my dog. I found Terry on Facebook and after reading the experiences other dog owners had, I contacted him. After two weeks at camp, Max is following commands and will stay in his place until released by verbal command. He comes when called and I enjoy walking with him. I look forward to coming home and spending time with Max. I cant thank Terry and all the staff enough!

Just want to thank everyone for a positive board and training program with Terry Cook. Loved seeing pictures of Reagan on Facebook. Tex messages and pictures from Zeke helped me feel connected while away. Everything was well explained and we will be going back for a follow up. Their facility is well maintained and beautiful. Reagan was not stressed when we picked him up. Love how he walks beside me now.

Terry is such an amazing trainer! He treats every dog as if it were his own. I could see the bond that he developed with our dog, who was in the service dog board and train program. Terry sent us videos and pictures to keep us informed about our dogs progress. We had our first lesson in public and I was amazed at how well Charlie was in the grocery store on a busy Saturday before Easter! The quality of training is like no other! The facility is beautiful and is built with all of the dogs needs in mind.

My experience with Terry and his staff far exceeded my expectations. The staff at the facility are very personable and knowledgeable about dogs and their training. The training facility is very nice, clean, and well maintained. Before our visit, my dog Sadie was largely out of control. She didn’t understand the simplest commands including “NO”. After two weeks of training at Terry’s facility, all of that has changed. She now responds to come, sit, down, off, and walk. She also responds to “place” which requires her to stay until released. While still an energetic, playful, nine month old pup, Sadie is much easier to manage. I am extremely pleased with my experience with Terry and the staff of this training facility. I am even more pleased by the results of the training. While she can’t tell me, I think Sadie is happy with the results too. I am happy to recommend Terry and all of the training staff without reservation.

Very happy with the results. Our shepherd husky mix has come a long way after only 3 lessons. We can walk her without holding the leash and she no longer has an obsession with other dogs. The best part is the lifetime support you get. Highly recommend bringing your dog for training.

We just picked up our puppy from the board and train program. I am truly impressed by the progress that Terry, Zeke, Matt and the rest of the team made with her in such a short amount of time. Night and day difference! The three most impressive take aways so far-1. They took great care of her. This place is like no other. 2. They stand by their work. Thank you, Terry! Skye has been a handful her ENTIRE life, until you. She now walks without pulling her lead and sometimes without being on a lead at all. Our puppy Mowgli is very much in the puppy phase. Very high energy, lots of play biting/nipping, stealing our toddlers toys/items off the counter, jumping, and barking. With our 2 year old at home, and my wife pregnant expecting another, we needed help fast to make sure we were able to keep everyone safe and happy. We were at our wits end as nothing we did seemed to help and we were referred to Terry. When we picked him up, his behavior was completely changed. He is essentially a brand new dog. We are so grateful for the training our puppy received with Terry! Before training, our puppy play-bit so much that it affected our life at home. Constant scratches on our arms and nothing that we could do to stop him. He got into anything and everything that he could, walks were a miserable chore, and he suffered from the worst anxiety. I was concerned about leaving my girl for so long but keeping up with Facebook posts really helped the time pass. We could not be more pleased with the difference we already see in Noel, she is much more calm and follows commands almost always on the first request. While it seems like an unconventional dog training that wouldn’t work, it was worth every penny. Also worth the hour drive to and from lessons. Not only do I feel more comfortable and trusting with my dog, but I can tell she has more confidence and trust in me as her owner. We personally did the 3 private lesson option, which I felt was a rewarding and bonding experience between me and my dog, but I don’t doubt the other training options are just as efficient.

Terry and Zeke were fantastic. We knew other families that used them and had great results. Our 8 month old puppy needed to take her training to the next level. She would pull and make walks awful. After just three lessons we now walk her every night with no leash! She listens and no more chasing her when she decided to take off. I would recommend this training to anyone with a new puppy.

Our Dalmatian was very hyper and unable to focus her energy. After completing this program she is a much better listener, and we are able to harness her energy into training and obedience. Words cannot adequately express how amazing Terry is at dog training! I recently sent my 7-month-old vizsla to his 10-day residency program and the results were extraordinary! My dog was already pretty well trained due to the work I accomplished on my own but Terry was able to raise her to another level of ability. She is truly thriving under his training program and is eager every day to follow all of her commands! She is so good now that even the distraction of other dogs at the dog park is not enough to cause her to ignore my commands if we are playing fetch or if their is a commotion at the dog park I am trying to get her away from. Terry truly delivers the title of his dog training program.Moreover, the entirety of the training process was not only safe but must have also been super enjoyable for my dog based on her reaction. She was excited from the moment I dropped her off to the moment I picked her up. Terry does a wonderful job of training the dogs to an extremely high standard without creating any emotional problems for the dogs and without the use of any of the older methods of dog training such as chock collars or prong collars.Lastly, I found Terry after checking out other dog trainers and by speaking to local dog owners and friends. After I saw the other programs in Columbus and after I saw the results Terry had on one of my friends dogs, I can positively say he is the best dog trainer in the area! His work truly speaks to his abilities! Also, his price is more than reasonable! Honestly, after the training I wish I would have done it earlier!

Terry is great at building confidence and making us learn how we can better our training experience for our fur pups. We came to him with a bull headed pittie and after 3 lessons are leaving with a well mannered obedient dog who sits and lays in place on command and walks by our side off leash. We have a rescue pitbull mix who is the most lovable and friendly dog, but his pulling and barking at other dogs while on a leash has been completely miserable. So much so that my wife couldnt walk him. After spending almost two weeks with Terry, and going over a very thorough lesson on how to continue the training, were so excited to FINALLY be able to enjoy walks with our dog! Even better, we now have control so he doesnt jump on people, saving a lot of embarrassment when visitors come to our house.

Highly recommend! We took our 10 month old puppy to Terry for the 10 day program. Prior to training, she had high anxiety, liked to chew everything (including the carpet, couches, & wooden dressers), and would not listen to basic commands. Now that she has worked with Terry, her anxiety levels have greatly decreased, she follows commands immediately, & her chewing has stopped. She honestly seems to be a completely different, much more relaxed, and overall happier pup!

We tried to train our two Rottweilers on our own, but that is just outside of our expertise so we failed. Learning about Columbus Dog Training (Terry Cook) from a friend, we recently boarded our two Rottweilers so they could be trained by Terry and his staff. The facilities are outstanding, and we had complete confidence that our boys would be safe. Moreover, with proper supervision and training methods our Rotties have learned new skills that will enable everyone in our home to live better lives. Where do we start.... My wife and I looked and looked all around the Columbus area for the best dog trainer we could find. Someone we knew would have an interest in our dogs results and not just another statistic. We were turned off by companies that assigned you a trainer you knew nothing about prior to their on-boarding only to learn their name once they knew when you wanted to have your dog boarded.After nearly 4 months of searching for the right fit we found Terry Cook. Clearly his reviews are great and the results are shown in his videos, but that doesn’t do the quality work he does with dogs justice. Our 1 year old Golden Retriever is a fun, energetic pup who was a nightmare to walk and often an embarrassment to bring around friends and family. He would pull constantly on the leash during walks and never listened to our commands.After the 10 day board and train with Terry Cook I can say our lives have completely changed for the better. It’s almost as if he somehow taught our dog English. Our pup is proud to show us all the knew commands he has learned and walks with the dog are enjoyable and relaxing. When we eat or need to answer the door we simply put our dog in his “place” and he lays there until we release him with no issues. These improvements are just a small glimpse into the drastic change we are experiencing, we couldn’t be happier with the results!!On top of that, Terry’s facility is like a Dog Resort! Terri is an amazing dog trainer who did a wonderful job with our German Shepherd. We were having a lot of challenges with our large puppy and that is when we called Terri for an in home evaluation. After just three lessons, we have a whole new dog that we can take on walks without the leash, open the door without him bolting out and we can invite friends over without him jumping and bothering them the whole time. If you need help getting your dog under control don’t call anyone other than Terri! Best money we have ever spent on our fur baby.

Terry was a lifesaver with our young Bernedoodle Shelby. She was just under 5 months old when we began training, and now at 8 months old she is a totally different dog. Most of our initial complaints were the puppy behaviors of jumping, play biting, and chewing things that didn’t belong to her. She is now very obedient, easier with our kids, and is an all around happier dog because she isn’t in constantly in trouble. The off leash walking was also a game changer! Too all of you nay-sayers out there, who say a dog cant learn solid basic obedience and public access in 20 days.... I call BULLS**T! Our dog and humans are doing amazing. OUR dog and handler are doing great maneuvering through real life situations with calmness and success! Its all about building off of the SOLID FOUNDATION Terry has taught the dog AND the humans and not having multiple family members trying to teach the foundation. That solid foundation is the building block to a successful future and you cant create that foundation if your cues are not spot on. Terry has the SKILLS with the cues! We had doubts our dog could be trained. He would go crazy when he saw people or dogs while we were walking, and would try and get out of the house when we opened the door. After a 10 day training session with Terry, those issues have been corrected. The training was worth every single dollar and would do it again in a heartbeat. His new facility is awesome and he truely enjoys his work and the results show it!

After doing a lot of research we chose Terry Cook to help us train our 11 month old English Mastiff. We just picked her up after her 5 day board and train, and we are very happy with her training. He has a beautiful property and our dog really enjoyed her time there. We will also board our dog with Terry when we go on vacation.

I brought our Great Dane puppy in an out of control dog and got him back a well mannered gentledog I was absolutely amazed at the transformation! Terry came to help us with our two dogs. One is a 90 pound pit bull and the other is a 56 pound pitt mix with jumping on guests and pulling on their walks. After three sessions they are calmer when visitors come by and we can now walk them off leash. My daughter is able to walk them next to her on leash. We would highly recommend him for anyone who is having any issues with their own pets. He was a great help to us and we couldn’t be happier with the results!

Terry single handedly gave us our girl. She was VERY aggressive, pulled hard on a leash, didn’t listen to commands, and very destructive. Now, I’m happy to say, we can walk her without a leash, no pulling, she will not go after animals while doing so. In addition, she will avoid food when told that she cannot have it. Terry Cook is the man to call! When Terry first came to our house to do the consultation, I was certain Terry would walk out on us. Hendrix is a German Shepherd/Black Lab mix and loved to jump and lick anyone who walked in the door, and it never stopped. He was so excited all the time. He even learned how to open, close and lock doors, and locked us out quite a few times. When Terry told me that Hendrix would be walking off-leash with me in three lessons, I hoped he was right, but I had doubts because I knew how stubborn my dog was. Within the first two weeks, Hendrix wasnt jumping on people. He was coming on command, sitting, and wasnt afraid of his crate anymore. Then came the test, taking him off-leash... He did it! Holy Cow!! My dog can do it! He listens, he tries new things, hes not running around like a maniac, and people can come over and not get smothered to death by Hendrixs love! Hendrix was able to do off-leash in the second lesson. I am absolutely amazed. My husband and I are forever grateful for Terry and his training. Every dog that comes into our home will be trained Terrys way. We are believers! We went from talking about possibly re-homing our dog to enjoying long walks with him. Terry can tame the wolf! I have a 2 yr old Boxer which we all know are are very high strung! I picked her up after a 5 day board and train with Terry Cook! I completely recommend Terry Cook for any type of dog training!!! He is awesome and did a fantastic job with our 7 month old lab Silas! We just got him back from the ten day board and train and he is a happy, healthy, trained, and well behaved dog! We had tried several other dog trainers with no success. Most other trainers use techniques that actually punish the dog, using negative reinforcement. If they tell you otherwise, they are most likely not telling you the whole truth. We found that out the hard way. Terry is totally different. He uses positive reinforcement and never uses the word “No”!!!(Seriously!)Terry develops a special relationship with the dogs he trains and they respect and love him. They are not trained to fear the owner/trainer. Most dogs want to please us and Terry takes full advantage of that by his style of training. He cares deeply for the dogs put under his care and is dedicated to helping the dog and the owner to have the wonderful relationship that is completely possible, but not always attainable. He is kind and considerate and is always available for help during the dogs training/stay. He even texted the day after we picked Silas up to see how he was doing. Terry took our dog Emma, pit/lab mix into his 10 day board and train, actually had her 16 days. We could not believe that this super hyper dog road in the back seat from Lancaster to Kingston with no barrier and stayed in the back seat. She’s doing very well on her commands without always using the controller. Never would have taken her on a walk before. Terry said take her every day. She isn’t off leash yet but that wasn’t our priority. Being able to get her away from the house and ride in the car and actually walk with her instead of her dragging us has finally happened. It is only her second day home and we very pleased. Main reason for taking her was animal aggression. So far she doesn’t seem as excited about other animals but taking baby steps.

My wife researches everything prior to doing anything and when we got our German Shepard pup it wasnt any different. It was apparent from all her research that Terry Cook was one of the best trainers in the central Ohio area. Our Remi was a terror from the moment we brought him home and it was clear that he was going to require a pro to make him into the great pet he was replacing. After the very first lesson Remi was a dog on the mend. Terry was very patient with our 8 month old goldendoodle that didn’t realize how big and strong he was. We felt like we couldn’t include him in a lot of family things. After a 10 day board and train with Terry he listens to simple commands and can be walked off leash. Our dog is now a huge part of all of our family activities. I would highly recommend Terry Cook. Prior to training, our Pomsky was out of control. She would jump on visitors, and constantly pull on her leash during walks. She wasnt much fun to be around, and spent a lot of time in her cage. As a result, her quality of life suffered. Our dog now comes when called, sits and stays until released, and walks off-leash! She is now a pleasure to be around and has a much better quality of life... as do we!

Before, our dog was very difficult to handle, and since he came home, we have seen immediate results! It was a great decision to have Terry train him!

Terry did a fabulous job with our GSD Nala. When Terry met Nala I wondered if he was going to be able to train her and I was nervous dropping her off but picking her up last night she’s a different dog- she’s still Nala and her playful personality is still there but now we can walk her without worrying about pulling or running off.
