A letter of sorts to Dr. Gottlieb, I sincerely hope you read this.Dr. Gottlieb,I’m trying to keep this brief and civil, but I know I will have a hard time with both. I began seeing you for debilitating headaches around age 12, I am currently 29.I could write a thesis long letter expressing how your actions inflicted and caused life-long trauma, both physically and mentally, that I continue to deal with today (I can include specific examples and witnesses should you request details and/or solid sources). Not only did you fail to help me, you proved counter productive and treated me as if I was less than trash.You never ordered an MRI; my ENT ordered it years later, and I was told Chiari I. You insisted on chronic migraines being the cause.After seeing Dr. Carson at Johns Hopkins and finally scheduling surgery (due to Chiari, a month before I turned 17. Dec 4, 2007), you wrote a letter to Dr. Carson. You detailed why I apparently didn’t need surgery.I had the surgery; the frequency of my headaches decreased by at least 90%, today it has proven to be 99%.I don’t want to get into the extent to which you and your actions, as well as words, negatively affected my life - and continue too. I don’t want to get into how I feel about it, or my opinion of you. Unfortunately, while many doctors have treated me poorly since, none can compare to you.I have also seen a few amazing doctors who have changed my life for the better, Dr. Carson included. They can be difficult to find.In conclusion, no one deserves the treatment I received under your care, or the life-long effects caused by it. I sincerely hope you’ve changed and positively helped others with their needs.- Samantha

He didnt waste time. He heard my concerns and told me about his own. He was very proactive and began ordering tests during the first visit. They helped to get genetic blood work pushed through my insurance, approved, so that we could find out early what we were dealing with.
