I had an appointment as a new patient for a routine pap smear. A couple weeks later I received a bill from Path Group for several hundred dollars, which seemed odd because my insurance should cover all preventative care. Plus, I work at, and am insured by Fairfield Medical Center, so I couldnt figure out why I was responsible for lab fees. When I called the office and spoke to billing, I was told that they dont send specimens to Fairfield, they use their own lab, and that when I signed the consent to treat, it was stated in that document. (Fine print). I was told that I HAVE TO ASK EVERY TIME IM THERE to have my specimens sent to Fairfield. This office is using a lab that theyre contracted with as opposed to the one your insurance requires, and it is the patients responsibility to tell them where you want things sent. Ive been a nurse for 20 years and that is very shady practice, in my opinion. I wont be back. Even if they offered to refund my money, I STILL would not return to this office after my conversation with the condescending female in billing.
Thanks for caring about me. The surgery was successful and I am cancer free.
I have been a client since 17 years old. Recently I discovered some bad health news. I went in for my annual and my CNP was being shadowed but had them do all the work and didnt come into the room when I was already being looked at. Then I ask for some of the medication just in case I need it but she told me to just call when I did. I left with a bunch of questions. Then today I go because, surprise, I need the medication. I call and call and call and get the busy tone every time so I go over there. But since I dont have an appointment a nurse comes out into the waiting room handing me a card telling me to call for an appointment!! I told her I just needed to talk to her privately but she wouldnt let me back and so I had to explain what I had and that I needed medication for it, right away. But I had to explain this IN THE WAITING ROOM in front of other customers who had no right to hear what I said. I will not be going back.
