Dr. Mackey is extremely knowledgeable and a no nonsense doctor. I appreciate that. She gave me the facts on my skin lesions and my options. When my appointment was over I immediately text my son and told him he needs to see her. I highly recommend Dr. Mackey. The staff was extremely courteous and caring.

Can I give negative stars??? The staff at this office are extremely rude. When bringing concerns to their attention they are patronizing, they do not listen, and have awful customer service. I scheduled an appointment 3 months in advance, they never confirmed the appointment with me and then send me a letter when I did not make the appointment charging me $60. The letter stated that they confirmed with me and then when I called the lady said that they “attempted” to confirm with me, there is a difference. The letter also said that they told me their $60 cancellation policy which they did not. When I brought this up to their billing department the lady said , “well that’s all hearsay”. 1 month after sending me the bill they sent it to collections...I would have rescheduled the appointment but after a $60 bill there is no way I would do that. Now after having a dose of how they treat their patients looks like it was better this way. I have worked at doctors offices before, if you treat people right that does way more than whatever this was.

Dr Mackey has pictures of her greyhounds on the ceiling in an exam room. Great doctor. She got my acne to stop harassing me.

I recently had my first appointment with Dr. Mackey. I must admit I was a bit skeptical after reading the reviews. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the staff was, including Dr. Mackey. I was a bit anxious and nervous and I was very appreciative of their care and making me feel at ease.

I will never recommend this office to anyone. First and foremost, when I received care here, the receptionist was extremely rude and immediately condescending. Second, Dr. Mackey actually declined to give me further care because she felt I was an “irresponsible” patient (one of the nurses actually left me a voicemail stating this) for not answering my phone on a few occasions which in turn caused them to cancel my prescription. I was hurt, confused and felt completely disrespected when everything went down. Don’t go here. Save yourself the frustration!

I am not sure why I didnt read these reviews before going to this doctor. Scheduled my new patient appointment 3 months ago, only to have a rushed appointment and then be told I cant ever be seen there again. My first impressions entering the office, receptionist didnt look up once or even say hi. After a few minutes of me standing right in front of her, she finally said Ill be right with you. After my appointment I called asking a question about a prescription. When I got a call back on 3/4, the woman Kayla, left me a message about an insurance misunderstanding, that my follow up appointment was canceled and I cant ever be seen there again hardly referencing my prescription question, or explaining what she was talking. She stated my insurance (Capital Blue Cross) would not pay for my appointment because of my secondary (Access), which has NEVER happened to me before.Dr. Mackey called me on 3/5 to try and remedy the situation, which I appreciate saying they were going to look into it further because they did not know about the HIPP program, and called my case worker.Come today, 3/8, someone called me, conveniently without saying their name, and told me about an over the counter prescription and that they would like to se me again in X amount of weeks. I had to ask if everything was figured out with my insurance, since they were obviously trying to avoid that conversation, and they proceeded to tell me yes. No apology, no nothing. When I asked who I was speaking to, they responded “you didn’t speak with me”, then I repeated myself and they said “Kayla” who was the initial person to give me a hard time about this whole situation. The staff at the establishment is a JOKE, and thats being polite.Since I cant respond to them-No where in my review did I say that your office didnt care, and I stated that I appreciate what Dr. Mackey did. However its a common theme that this business turns it around on the patient when they find themselves with a negative experience. While yes, I did not present my Access card, in the 3 years that Ive had this insurance, I havent had to, to doctors that dont accept it. At no time did I ask for Dr Mackeys office to accept it, I was using my PRIMARY Capital Blue Cross the entire time. Its not my job to keep you up to date on recent insurance changes, that is your establishments job, and because you didnt, why is it so hard to own up to the error? Having the woman who was rude and gave me the hardest time about the situation AND denied having ever talked to me was ridiculous. Why would I follow through with a Doctors office that made me feel like dirt about the insurance that I have? That was RUDE and wrote me off completely about a situation they didnt understand? Cancelled my appointment without even trying to figure the situation out first?

I am honestly not a person to fill out reviews but after seeing all of the negative ones, I felt the need to complete one. I have never had a negative experience at Dr. Mackeys office. I am 34 and have already had a basel cell and melanoma whom were handled by other doctors when I lived out of the area, and fox chase cancer center in Philadelphia. Yes, the woman who works at the front desk is more straight forward, as is Dr. Mackey but I have never experienced any rude behavior. I appreciate their ability to be straight forward and efficient because you know what comes with that, short waits in the waiting area and in the exam room. There is nothing more frustrating to me then waiting a long time then to only wait forever again in the exam room. A 30 minute appointment turning into an hour and a half of your time is super frustrating. I appreciate that Im in quick for a body scan, Dr Mackey is thorough and friendly in the process (as is her assistant who is always sweet and gives my daughter a sticker or two) and then Im done. My family and I will continue to go to Dr. Mackeys office gladly for years to come!

I was a new patient, scheduled for an annual body scan. Let me start off with saying that the staff was very friendly and helpful. My disappointment is with the service provided by the Dr Mackey. It was not a good experience. The attitude was impersonal, some what arrogant, and condescending. The visit was brief and rushed. She asked me if I had any question as she is walking out the door. Hmm. I will not recommend this practice.

Dr. Mackey has been awesome working with my son. With a full schedule, they were able to get us in at an earlier time and the follow up visits have been easy to schedule and be seen. Office staff has been more than pleasant to work with.

Long term patient never in my life treated so poorly by a doctor and her assistant on my last visit. My husband and I felt like it was on the level of verbal abuse. Left message next day to understand what really happen trying to give them the benefit of the doubt of a bad day. No response. Will no longer be a patient with Dr. Mackey and can not recommend them to anyone. And Yes I referred 7 patients to them in the past.

I went to this office for treatment of squamous cell carcinoma on my lower leg. I was not happy nothing was explained to me about test results or the scraping procedure needed done. I was not given any notice to how painful it would be, or could be afterwards. I decided to pick another dermatologist to see for exams and follow up treatment. It has been almost a year since Ive been to this office, and all of the sudden they charged my card $60. For what! I havent been there in almost a year!

Dr. Mackey is a great doctor who listens and provides great care. During my first appointment she diagnosed my issue and got me started on a medication that changed my life for the better. Her medical assistants that Ive communicated with (Kathy, Ann, and Leann) are always so kind and helpful, especially when I run into problems getting a prescription I need filled (which happens a lot).

I had went to another dermatologist 3 months ago with a concern about a new mole that had formed a red ring around it. I was told its nothing to worry about along with other moles. I knew something was wrong and contacted my family doctor who put me in contact with Dr Mackey. Long story short the mole that was nothing to worry about is Basil Cell Carcinoma. I had my first appointment 1/11 she took the biopsy, called me 5 days later and have a follow up 1/22 to have more tissue removed to make sure everything is gone.I cannot say enough about Dr Mackey and her staff for for there genuine care and compassion.

They almost never answer the phone. It goes to voice mail and then you have to play phone tag. I have been a patient for years and my insurance pays the whole charge. Now they want a credit card on file or pay bill upfront an they will reimburse you when insurance pays. (I REFUSED AND WALKED OUT, THEY SAID I WOULD BE BILLED A NO SHOW CHARGE). I practiced Dentistry for 45 years and I never treated a patient with such disrespect. It appears money is more important than offering patients respect. Every body is being treated as a dead beat.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Mackey since she started her practice, decades ago. We have always been very happy with her work and the treatment we received. I am VERY surprised by the negative reviews here. Ignore them and get yourself to her office. Youre be glad you did. She is an excellent practitioner!

We should have read the reviews about this office before scheduling an appointment. The office personel were extremely rude and disrespectful to both my wife and I and when we asked to speak to an office manager, they lied about having one, placed us on multiple holds. When I said I would come to the office if I had to in order to resolve the matter, I was told I was threatening them and that the police would be called. In all our years of working with medical professionals this has to be one of the most unprofessional places we have ever encountered. They threatened us charging us a no show when we were calling to deal with a misunderstanding of the office closure due to a holiday. We were new patients and they treated us like we were solicitors calling them. I would steer clear of this dermatology office.

The lady K**** who answered the phone was very rude and didnt like that I was asking questions about appt times etc..... basically told me she was refusing to schedule see me all because I was asking questions and couldnt make a certain time. She refused to put the Dr. on phone and hung up on me. that last on phone needs more training.

I went to my doctor in the second week in April 2018. I called susquehanna family multiple times since they had referred me to DR. Mackey. The 3rd time I called they said they had no luck getting ahold of her and I had to call myself. So on May 10th I called and spoke to the receptionist who said she was not sure why I didnt get a phone call back and she did have messages from my doctors office. She promised to investigate and that she would call me back on May 11th. It is now May 21rst and still no phone call. I heard this was a great place to go to and I have 2 insurance cards so Im thinking they either cant handle the amount of patients they have or the staff is lacking upstairs. Its sad if she is indeed great but Im starting to wonder with all the bad reviews I read as well. Moving on to a reliable office.
