Just terrible. I had an appointment scheduled two months ago only to receive a call the day of the appointment cancelling because the computers were down. I was told to just reschedule and that, although the soonest appointment was two months away, someone would call to fit me in sooner. Of course no one called. I received a call today (the day before my appointment) saying my appointment was being cancelled because it wasnt confirmed. I asked, confirmed by who? and was told, I dont know, either the doctor isnt available or you didnt confirm it. (I completed the admissions forms TWICE, so that is not the problem.) I asked when it can be scheduled for, and, of course, the soonest appointment is another month away. What a joke. Do not bother with his place. I wish I saw the other terrible reviews before I wasted my time.

Walked in for my appointment. No one was at the front desk. Stood there for a while before another worker went and found two people to come out and help the line that formed in the front of the store. What acted like the manager was rude and pushy. He said the Dr. went on lunch during my appointment time. Him and employee had a conversation while I stood there continuing to wait, to then inform me I could come back on another day. I have two special needs children I had to find care for today so I was able to go-to my eye exam. I will not waste my time again to go here. Everyone else working at the desks off to the side seemed kind and friendly.

Four phone calls this morning to the store and no answer, despite being on hold for over 20 minutes for one of the calls.My husband went this morning for his exam and was told afterwards if he doesn’t choose a pair of frames from them within 48 hours, he looses his benefit from our insurance provider. How incredibly asinine does that sound coming from a salesman there? We have NEVER been told that before from any eye doctor… including my current one who I have the SAME coverage with… incredibly frustrating! Now I’ll have to make the 40 minute drive BACK to the store to clarify this.

This doctors office has canceled on me almost EVERY appointment I have made since first seeing them. They have an excuse every appointment the doctor had a Medical Emergency and they need to cancel. I HIGHLY suggest finding a different provide, as clearly they have no time for their patients. DISGRACE.

I have used this company for years for me and my family. Over the past two years they have steadily declined in customer service and decent employees. I have called 20 times today at two separate locations and was unable to reach an actual person even once. I was hung up on seven times when attempting to connect to an agent. The last time I was at an appointment with my daughter the employee was rude, unprofessional, and not helpful whatsoever. I didn’t want to write the company off because of one bad employee, so I was attempting to schedule another appointment. I absolutely will never spend my money at this company again.

If I could give them a zero I would, call made appointments over a month and half ago when I arrive today for my husband and son eye exams I was told that my husband was not in the system and my son was bumped because confirmation was not done, I didn’t receive no confirmation request either way , big waists of time . When I called customer service they said they couldn’t fine either one in the system. Don’t waist your time scheduling an appointment with them , specially the one in Lancaster near park city mall .

The wait was long, but there were a lot of people waiting. The staff seemed to move everything along at a steady pace. Ms. Lopez was extremely helpful and helped us save a bit of money on our glasses purchase. She was personable and very knowledgeable. Overall a pretty good experience!

The staff was pleasant and a pleasure to deal with from the minute I walked through the door. The doctor answered all my questions and was also a pleasure to deal with. This was my first time dealing with Visionworks so I was not sure what to expect, needless to say I was very pleased with my decision to start using Visionworks and going to this particular location! If you are in need of an eye exam, new glasses, or contacts don’t hesitate to give this location a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

This place is a joke. So much for glasses in an hour; Now it’s two weeks. Oh and don’t bother making an appointment; they still make you wait hours. No social distancing at ALL. Lines out the door. I asked them what the point in making an appointment was if I still have to wait in a long line. Their answer was that they were trying to limit how many people are here because of covid. It’s not working. I feel like they are herding elephants. The amount of people in here is appalling. Who manages this place? They need a real manager. They are failing at life.

I’ve been going to Vision Works for about 4 years. My experiences have always been great with Chris & Jessica. However this time was a disaster. I’m assuming this you g lady was the manager by how she spoke to the people working. The day was February 5th around 1:30pm. She was very rude to them. Especially Jessica. When we were done with our exam, we retreated to the lobby area to look for frames. Chris (whom always takes care of us) attempted to help us and she rudely said “she (me) can wait, you all need to go on lunch. I got the floor”.) There were roughly 6-7 people waiting at the time and Chris mentioned that and said he could wait for lunch and and she loudly demanded he and the remaining staff (besides Jessica) go to lunch. As we sat waiting, this manager who’s name starts with a V (Hispanic young lady) began to talk loudly with a customer about her personal business. Detailing how she’s a few weeks pregnant and literally talked about this for 15-20 minutes extremely loud to the point all of us waiting sat uncomfortably as she just yapped and yapped. I personally just lost a baby and grew very uncomfortable listing to this unprofessional conversation. Jessica (who could see how uncomfortable I was after now 45 minutes going by since our exam and the manager girl still sitting and conversing with this same customer) saw that we already picked frames and asked if I wanted her to start processing insurance and get us taken care of so we could leave. I immediately took her offer and this manager seemed to be annoyed that she was helping us. Jessica asked a simple question and she replied very snippy and continued to have this negative aura/energy the remainder of my time there. I’ve never witness such unprofessionalism with Vision Works before and have also never seen this girl before. Everyone seemed to apologize for the behavior of her without verbally stating so, just saying “I’m so sorry” Chris, tall black fellow, Jessica and another younger gentleman working in the back. They are always pleasant and all smiles every time we come in. Something need to be done about this woman. She’s not a good fit for the company. I also have a 30 minute recording of her talking about this personal business. I did not record her face, just her voice. We’ll be finding somewhere else to go for our exams and glasses.

Service in store is pretty good, but given current circumstances - Id rather not go into the physical store and unfortunately they never seem to answer their phones.By contrast the Visionworks on Lincoln Hwy answered me almost immediately. Turns out their systems arent connected though so thats inconvenient if youre deciding between the two stores and youd like quick phone service Id go for the one on Lincoln Hwy.

When you enter the store, you will not be greeted. No one cares that you’re standing there. If you ever get to come to the desk no one really exchanges much information with you, you should just assume they’re doing something important. When you’re actually able to start trying on glasses, THEN they turn on the sales person customer service. If this is your only option, bring all of your patience. If you have a choice to go anywhere else, do that.

I own a construction company and charge 75 dollars an hour so I think I will send them a bill for my time that I had to sit and wait.

Last week I picked up my first pair of glasses no problem. I received the text saying that they were ready and I went and picked them up without a single problem. This time I went and the receptionist Victoria told me that I needed to schedule an appointment with for them and I told her about how last week I picked them up without an appointment and asked if they changed and she replies “yes last week literally” I do not appreciate the disrespect or the tone I was given. Made an appointment online.a week ago. I’m an OTR driver so I had to take the day of and make sure I was in the area, which means I also am losing tomorrow work. I’ve been having headaches for a few weeks. So I get a voicemail on the day of the appointment saying that time slot was already booked and I have to reschedule. If that was the case you would’ve caught it before the day of the appointment. Keep trying to call and like the other reviews no answer. The service in this store apparently is the worst.

This place is falling apart. I have been going here for several years and have seen it being run to the ground. If I could give a lower score I would. After seeing the doc I sat in the waiting room for over an hour waiting for service to get my glasses. I never was seen had to walk out. I will unfortunately be taking my services elsewhere.

I cant thank Eric enough for being such a wonderful patient advocate. During my initial appointment, I met with a doctor who was completely dismissive and didnt provide any solutions for my eye issues. I had mentioned my experience to Eric, and he helped me immensely by scheduling a new appointment with Dr. Chris Rugaber who took the time to actually address my concerns and provide next steps to resolve the issue. I am so appreciative of Eric for making sure I received thorough care, and I cant recommend him and Dr. Chris enough!

So vision works can blow up my phone and mailbox with reminders I’m over due for an eye exam. Yet they can’t answer their phone. Oh and they’re website is horrible and apparently appointments are all booked out for the next 3 months?? Yeah I don’t quite believe that. It’s not just me either, every recent review I’ve read is the same issue. So if you’re thinking of getting an exam here please look elsewhere.

Gentleman named Eric who adjusted my glasses messed up the lenses. He was dismissive and unhelpful. Unprofessional attitude and not friendly. Almost in a rush even though there aren’t many customers. “Crazed” them? The next gentleman who helped me replaced the whole pair of glasses at no cost and apologized. This whole ordeal was just for an adjustment to make them tighter on my face so they don’t slide down... I appreciate the second man who helped me. Very friendly and honest. Husbands appt was rescheduled three times to even get in for his first appt. Two more times he was rescheduled again because they didn’t make it an appt for glasses and contacts even though it was made online with that selection and each time he was rescheduled (for a date and time THEY chose each time) they would say that it was for glasses AND contacts, and now has been rescheduled two more times just to fit the contacts they already have waiting there for him. Each time they keep saying the doctor is not available, but THEY are the ones that picked the day and time, so why would you give someone an appt for a day and time the doctor was not available over and over again. When I called to discuss this final reschedule with someone over the phone all they kept saying was “I don’t control the doctors schedule” and “I don’t know what you want me to say”. So how/why did someone from there schedule him at those days/times if the doctor is not there??? I then get asked if I would like to speak to a manager, in which I said yes, and was then promptly hung up on. So thanks SO MUCH Visionworks! Your customer service is superb!!!! If I could give you zero stars, I would. Be sure to avoid this location if you at all care about your own time and schedule because you will be screwed around over and over again with them rescheduling you once you already show up for your appt without calling to let you know to not bother to come in because the doctor isn’t available once again.

Absolutely horrible costumer service .Brought 2 pair of glass from this location and was promised both pair by 8/31/20. One pair was ready by then , and the other one I have not idea if they lost the other pair or if they are just delayed . But this location refuses to pick or their phones , Than, when they finally do they either hang up or never get back to you . I have been calling to the last 2 days , just for an update and have been on the phone both time for , one hour and 19 mins. Absolutely unreasonable. 3 appointments cancelled! I’ve been trying to get my eyes checked and this vision works has been going out of its way to be unethical with business practices. They said they called and cancelled appointments; however there were no missed calls or voicemails on my phone. The employees need to be retrained on giving any amount of customer service; they kicked me out of the store because they didn’t call me to cancel my appointment. This store and business is horrible for any consumer and don’t go around saying “COVID changed how people do business”. Vision works was screwing people before COVID they have been doing it during COVID and they’ll do it after COVID. Do your best to stay away from Visionworks if you want competent eye care.

I had gone in for a replacement pair of glasses. I ended up doing an exam .. 1 week later.. glasses came in and I was seeing double and 2 colors.. went back.. redone.. 2nd pair 1 week later..glasses came in... everything was blurry.. And sent her packing doctor never came out to speak to us. No one there has any idea whats going on. Can not reach an actual person to talk to in store. The general customer service line isn’t any different. I’ve had pleasant experiences at my appointments, besides one visit where the key holder overslept and customers as well as employees stood around for 40 minutes waiting for the doors to open. The major issue is how am I to do business with a company that ignores the ringing phone?

Took my daughter in for just glasses. They mistakenly thought she needed an exam. My husband said no she had her exam yesterday. He also had the prescription with him. The doctor started asking him multiple questions and started putting the specialist that we take our daughter to down saying that we dont need them. Yes we do her eye crosses. Worst experience! Bad customer service and business operations!We came in Friday night around 7:00 pm. There was only one technician and one customer. She greeted us nicely and said she would be with us shortly. During the 40 minutes waiting, four groups of customers walked in. One left while waiting for twenty minutes. Finally she was done with the customer she served, but she quickly walked into another group of customer who were checking the glasses. When she went over to the counter, I kindly asked when our turn was. Another lady in the front desk checked our prescription and said it was not acceptable because it is not the same format with the prescription of their store. I asked if we could pick up the glasses tonight since we had been waiting for almost one hour. She said yes, but we had to wait till the technician was done with two other groups of customers who had entered after us because they did not keep record of who walked in first as she said. We left immediately and went to another store nearby, and waited for less than ten minutes. By the way, another store accepted our prescription with no any problem.

They are always so busy, you have to wait forever and the woman at the reception desk is not really very nice. It took weeks the last time I ordered glasses. I just tried to call to ask a question and I waited 20 minutes and still no one answered the phone even though the recording repeatedly told me that my call was very important to them! I have been coming here for many years. I’ll be the first to admit my prescription is not simple and I’m a complicated contact lens fit but I have found perfection.The front desk girl Jessica is always so sweet and pleasant and helpful. I always ask for the one manager denisha she has been amazing from the start. Working with the doctors and myself to get things correct from the beginning. Despite what one of her colleagues had said about her in the past- I know someone who truly cares about their job and their patients when I see it. Never once made me feel like a pain and is always happy to help talk to me. I keep returning for her and I have referred people just for her. If you’re in the mode for glasses then Chris is your man. I have worked with him before at a previous optical place and he has always been nothing short of amazing. Love this place for them!

Ive called almost everyday for the last week or 2 to see if my glasses came in because I dont want to drive there and waste my time. I dont see why they cant have a person there to answer phones. Ive relocated and need to get my information faxed to another Visionworks. Ive tried to contact them several times, three different days this week, no one picks up. I even called the 1-800 number to get some help and request assistance in getting the fax and STILL no one picks up. I wait on hold music for several minutes before I give up, no matter which option I choose it is the same, even for the emergency line.

I had been planning to order a new pair of glasses online and I had my prescription done at visionworks a few months back, right before the pandemic hit. I was having trouble reaching anyone through email or phone and couldn’t navigate my way around the website to obtain my prescription. Today is the first day of “green phase” so I figured I’d just go to the store and it shouldn’t be too hard to print out for me. I walk in, and a tall black man that is working there tells me to please wait a moment. As of right now he’s polite. He finishes helping the customer he was with and comes up to me. He then asks if I’m here to pick up a pair of glasses. I start explaining the troubles I was having contacting the store and navigating my way through the website and that I would just like a copy of my prescription. He stares at me and goes “that’s it, a prescription?” His tone had changed and I felt he replied in a very condescending manner. I tell him yes, that’s all I need. He says nothing, turns and grabs what looks like a purple handgun(it was a thermometer but I had never seen one like that) and points it about an inch away from my face and takes my temperature without my consent or even a warning. I understand there are certain policies in place that must be followed now, but I felt it was a violation of my space, and you shouldn’t stick weird objects in people’s faces without so much as a warning. There’s people out there who might’ve felt threatened by that. I still feel it was a violation and am considering going back to the store and telling him how disrespectful and rude he was. I hope the next time I visit visionworks, I’m treated like a valued customer or it might be my last appointment there. I’d give zero stars if I could.

Worst eye Dr. Ive ever been to!! Staff is extremely rude and unprofessional including the Dr. There is a fat older white lady I believe her name was Karen and she was my first unpleasant encounter coming in the door. And even the Dr was terrible so rushed and made you feel like your a burden on his time and talked rudely to his patients bc of that. The only nice one in the place was Brian. I got an appt to try different contacts and they fit fine and really liked them so I called them and ordered them to be shipped to my house and when I received them they were the original brand that bothered my eyes!!!! I went in for an eye exam today and was very pleased with the service and customer service from both the doctor and the other help at this location. They have quite a number of frames to choose from. The place was crowded and seem to be doing very good business. The doctor was very friendly and had me in and out in no time. I highly recommend making an appointment. Ask for Venecia Lopez. We came in with a pair of glasses from another store. The screw had fallen apart that holds on the arm. The woman who helped us was very courteous. Not only did she put s new screw on but she also straightened and tighten the sides plus cleaned them. Then she told us it was for free. Next time we’ll get our glasses there!

I read the reviews and I was skeptical. But bad news always travels faster than good right? The young girl with dark hair who I can’t remember her name who helped us out was so sweet. Nice. The phone kept ringing but she focused on us and our questions. The dr Wright was a complete jerk. He’s arrogant and definitely needs to learn how to speak to someone. Poor bedside manor. One of the managers helped us with my daughters contacts and she explained all the options the doctor had not went over all the pricing and helped us make an informed decision since she would be new to contacts. She then called and actually was the one who taught my daughter to use them. Had her laughing and confident she could do this and happy when we left. I wish I could remember her name. She was an assistant manager. She also helped fix my daughters back up glasses until her new ones would come and pointed us in the right direction with a gentleman to help us. She told him what we were doing and he helped my daughter select glasses and gave my son candy while we waited. I guess sometimes it’s the way you make your experience. I have nothing but good things to say about them! Will return for those 3 people!!

I walk in and the optometrist immediately tells me he has 15 years of experience. Okay? What are you getting at? It was like he had something to prove. Ordered contacts in February. It took three weeks for my trial pair to get there. I try them out and suffer from eye strain, headaches and feel as if Im constantly having to put in eye drops to clear up my sight. So I go back and he changes the prescription. Another couple of weeks before I get the trial pair. I try them out. Even worse than the previous ones. I go back again and set up an appointment to check them again. I go to the appointment but leave in less than 5 minutes because I didnt have the trial pair with me. No one told me I needed to bring them and I didnt think it was necessary since the past two pairs werent right. I assumed I needed a whole new test done. They order THE SAME TRIAL PAIR again just so I can try them on and tell them yet again that they arent right. That was last month (May) and Im still waiting for a call back. Its nearly the end of June.

This was my first time here, I decided to give it a shot since its closer to my home than my regular place I go to. The staff here is incredibly unprofessional. Mumbling about one another, complaining people leave early, and more. They take FOREVER even when you have an appointment. They ask you to show up 15 minutes early and the store isnt even open. The woman who did my eye exam was professional and nice. The woman who helped me pick glasses and place my order was also very nice. This place is a very long long process, though. I had to wait even though I had an appt. Then when going to pick up my glasses at first they couldnt find them although I got a text the day before stating they were in and ready. They do not have licensed professionals checking the fit of your glasses just random people which I also had to sit and wait for and then hear them complain that no one else (coworkers) came to help me.. I am glad to have that all over and done with. Although I notice I put my glasses on and I should have gotten anti glare and I can see the reflection behind me in my glasses somehow? Probably going to have to make another trip over there. I would never go here again. I give 2 stars ONLY for the two women who helped me my initial day in.

Staff was pleasant to work with, however “Dr.” Tyler Wright was horrible. He rushed me through the exam because he wanted to get to lunch. I ended up with the wrong prescription which was too strong. I definitely will not go back to this location and do not recommend anybody using this so called doctor.

I’ll admit I was a little worried about going to this VisionWorks location after reading the reviews but thankfully most are unfounded. I was greeted as I walked in the door, seated and was having my consultation with an eye care specialist in less than 5 minutes. Unfortunately after talking with the specialist I found out that my frames were not repairable however after I explained the situation she was able to find me a new pair that fit my lens for less than I expected. I was in and out from start to finish less than 20mins. Thanks again Lindsay..

Very unprofessional. Made an online appointment for earlier this week for a contact exam. Received a call the day before the appointment saying that the appointment time was long enough for a contact eye exam (even though that was what I picked online). The exam was rescheduled to today and I completed the online questionnaire that asked for my insurance information. I drove over an hour to get here today and arrived at my appointment today 15 minutes early (to fill out info I had already entered online) only to find out that this location doesn’t accept my insurance even though their locations in wyomissig, Lincoln highway and Hershey do. I don’t understand why I was only informed 15 minutes before the appointment that only this location doesn’t take my insurance when they had it for a week.

Worst experience I’ve ever had. I had to go back to try and get my prescription adjusted twice and I still can’t wear my glasses. On top of that even with an appointment be prepared to wait hours. The whole process was mechanical and not personable. I’ll never come here again. Even for a pick up expect to wait a long time. The only positive is front office staff is friendly but the process and services leaves much room for improvement.

Our doctor Dr. Wright was very rude and condescending. If you schedule an appointment for this location - Id request a different doctor. Ill change my review/star rating after we try another doctor. Everything else was fine - the rest of the staff was nice - except for Dr. Wright. I thought maybe he was just having a bad day, but there were numerous comments made throughout the visit.

Exceptional service! Very quick and helpful! Venecia assisted me after my vision test and helped me pick out amazing frames! She is very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of products for the lenses and is not pushy at all! For a kid that doesn’t take selfies and is self conscious about what he looks like in public she personally made me feel awesome!! 10/10 I will be back as long as vision works keeps hiring amazing employees like Venecia! I have been a patient for a long time and never had issues. Lyndsay is always helpful! Recently I scheduled an appointment and got the confirmation via email only to arrive and be told I had no appointment. On that particular day the front staff was not at all helpful and did not seem to be concerned about the mistake. I walked out pretty frustrated. About a week later I broke my frames and took them in to get replaced. Venecia offered to get another frame. Its been a bit of a confusing situation and she has taken steps to rectify the situation. Both Venecia and Lyndsay are always very professional, knowledge, and always helpful.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. I decided to try another Optician with more glasses selection for my son to choose from. It was a complete waste of time and my insurance payment. Dr. didnt care to take the time to make sure he could see properly. My son left with an improper Rx way too high for his eyes and they failed to notice my sons astigmatism. Went back to our old place and ended up GLADLY paying out of pocket for a proper eye exam with a Dr. who took the time to make sure my son has the right glasses. At vision works my son wasnt a person who needed to see better, but he was just another number.

Terrible experience. I came in tonight to order contacts and brought my prescription. The tech took one look at the prescription and said these arent for contacts they are for glasses. I insisted that they were my contact prescription and it was all i had. She looked again and said no not for contacts. I said im telling you, this is my contact prescription. The first page was glasses, the second page was contacts. This is all i have. She looked again and said no. Not for contacts. She said if i wanted to schedule an exam i could but i would have to pay out of pocket. I said nevermind and left with my prescription. Before i left she called me Miss Jessica, which is very insulting and condesending. When i got to my car i looked at my prescription and it said very CLEARLY contact prescription and listed the brand. How did she not see that?! Guess i will try the other visionworks. Maybe I will have better luck.
