I will forever be greatful for Dr. Hendon working her knowledge of meds to help me three all the years of high blood pressure due to a dying kidney. Four years into it tells me the kidney had to be removed. A whole week after kidneywas removed Ive got a new lease in life. Forever greatful

She is an excellent specialist, she cares about you as a whole not just a body part. She spends the time needed to get to the root of your condition. Her warm, friendly bedside manner is a huge relief. She doesn’t dismiss your questions. She’s a physician that you can talk to. I highly recommend her for your kidney and hypertension issues.

Dr. Hendon was my mothers specialist. She had wonderful bedside manner. She truly cared for my mother. Her warm smile always made the office and hospital visits pleasant. She explained things in a way we could understand and she always had time for questions. Her educational background is also impressive. I liked her office staff as well. Every time I called for an appointment or had a concern, I was treated with respect.

I thought I was in good hands when my former PCP sent me to Dr. Hendon after 5 months of uncontrollable blood pressure. She got on the ball with testing, and then just stopped. She kept me on a blood pressure medication for 5 months that made my symptoms worse. I kind of had to argue with her that she take me off the medication. It was making me tachycardiac upwards of 145. I kept asking for my heart to be tested. I was told I was young (in my 30s) and my heart was fine. Turns out, it wasnt, and hadnt been this whole time. I never had hypertension. I have takotsubo cardiomyopathy, and if I hadnt gone to the ER last week, I hate to think how much longer I could have had. I was in the hospital for 6 days, after they discovered the takotsubo cardiomyopathy. They spent time finding the right combination of medications and made sure I was actually ok before releasing me. Im going to heal and be fine in 90 days to 6 months. And my left ventricle is at 30% but it will heal and get stronger. Dont settle for a doctor who doesnt continue testing, especially when no blood pressure medication they tried ever worked. It would go up instead of down. Now my numbers are perfection and Im so thankful to the staff at Parkwest and Dr. Rahman for saving my life. Seek second and third opinions. Be your own advocate. Dont just settle when you were healthy and active prior to all of this. And if the doctor wont do the work and your life is sheer agony, move on. I am, and I couldnt be happier.
