Dr. Sexton came highly recommended from my allergist regarding surgery for deviated septum and chronic sinusitis issues. He worked on me for over 1 hour so I was told in post-op. Post-surgery was fairly uncomfortable for 3 days due to nose packings but so worth it. Wish I had this done 20yrs ago. Id give Dr. Sexton 10 stars if I could.

Dr Sexton treated me horribly. Because he did not have the most updated test results that showed MASSIVE lymph node clusters some as big as 18 mm he said I was A JOKE and if he sent me to his biopsy guy he would laugh at him.Less than a month later I was in surgery with a wonderful caring and compassionate Dr who took the time to make sure he had all of my most current test. I ended up have a cluster of blood vessels about 2. In.(each 1/4 in. Or larger) removed.Thank God I left Dr. Saxton and moved on to an EXTREMELY INTELLIGENT ENT Dr. that cared. He took the time to listen and made sure he had all the most current test results.I wish we could give 0 starts he doesnt even deserve 1.

I’ve been seeing Dr Sexton for 23 years. I have had two surgeries with him. When I changed jobs and he was no longer on my insurance I saw another great ENT Dr Leslie Baker. I’m shocked to see the negative reviews about him. I’ve had top notch care from him.

Dr. Sexton, ENT Consultants of East Tennessee has been thorough, seeking answers and solutions to my hearing loss issues. He takes time to listen and explain.

My husband had a massive nosebleed. Dr. Sexton’s office had us come in immediately. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. Dr. Sexton cauterized his nose and stopped the bleeding. He gave us clear instructions on what to do. He never rushed and was very helpful. We saw him 2 more times the same week. My husband received great care! We were very pleased with everything!

Dr. Sexton is an amazing caring person. He knows you by sight and asks about your family. Ive had a lot of ENTs in my life and hes the best one by far.

My husband had sinus surgery from him. He had complications, including chest pain, and was sent to the ER. Five hours later, the ER still had not seen him and he was having trouble breathing. He called the after hours line and wanted to speak to a doctor on call. The woman who answered refused and HUNG UP on him. Scary stuff, when you’ve just had surgery and the responsible doctor’s office says your symptoms are troublesome enough that you need to go to the ER, but then refuses to speak with you. I’d think before you plan to have surgery with Dr. Sexton’s office... if something goes wrong, you’re on your own.

Hands down, the worst ear, nose and throat doctor I have ever had an appointment with. He removed ear wax roughly with a sharp instrument and the shooting pains that resulted are even worse today. He ignored my questions about Ménières disease...completely. I had concerns about my cochlear implant causing severe pain on the side of my head. He not only had no advice, but never even looked and basically ignored the question. The nurse (if thats what she is) took me to the exam room and told me to sit down. Whatever notes she wrote down for the doctor were inaccurate. Both she and the doctor were rude. To be honest, Im surprised this man is qualified to be an M.D., let alone a specialist.I would never even consider returning to this practice.

Everyone was very nice and Dr Sexton was clear and helpful through the process. He stopped in many times before and after my surgery to see how I was doing.

Dr. Sexton treated my friend in the EMERGENCY room. I highlight that bc as a medical student I know the law. He refused the lifesaving treatment she asked for to instead do a procedure that literally tortured her. And I say that bc having never gotten the procedure done himself, he deluded himself into thinking it was painless. Versus the other procedure she would have been put under anesthesia. When she did not want to initially agree to his plan, and he did mocked and laughed at her (I really wish I was making this up because it astounds me that I’ll have to be around doctors with egos the size of Texas), he stated that if her airway were to close, he and his colleagues would not treat her (i.e. they would let her die).Back to the part about emergency, he clearly stated that he would not perform life saving treatment on a patient. In the United States, this is illegal for a doctor to do. Disgusting human trash. Seriously. He used all of this to coerce her into doing what he wanted so that she wouldn’t die. Instead of being a good person and trying to either meet her in the middle or trying to NICELY convince her that his treatment was the best plan (which in this case either procedure was efficacious). He broke the Hippocratic oath and I know for sure that patients need to stay away from someone who coerces their patients, mocks them, and belittles them while blatantly stating that they don’t care about the life of a single mother. You disgust me Sexton. I hope med schools start rejecting people like you. And I hope state medical boards start taking away your licenses.

Dr. Sexton at Fort Sanders office was quick to try to persuade me to get sinus surgery after seeing a mass in a digital x-ray. I went to an ENT in New Jersey while visiting family and they said the mass was just mucous after taking a CT scan, and that it would drain on its own and surgery was completely unnecessary. Turns out the ENT in New Jersey was RIGHT, so if I had listened to Sexton I would have had an unnecessary surgery and maybe even complications. Makes you wonder, you know? Never going back to Sexton.
