Dr. Akhter has been my sons doctor for 17 years and we think hes great!! Dr. Akhter is very professional, yet personal. My son never had problems or fears with his visits. When I had my second son last year, I chose a different doctor based on my sisters recommendation (she had 3 kidsunder the age of 3), my husband and I both went in with the new baby and after we left we quickly realized we wanted Dr. Akhter back! He and his nurses are very friendly and we enjoy seeing them, even in their new location!

I love the new location, dr athker has been my kids doctor for years now hes a great doctor I never have trouble scheduling a appointment immediately! His staff are very pleasant and friendly.

Dr Syed Akhtar is a great pediatrician in Knoxville. My 3 nephews are his patients. We had difficult issues with kids many times and he successfully treated them. He is a great and caring person yet the best pediatrician in town you can trust. Highly recommended!

My girls and I love Dr. Akhter. He and his staff are the best. The office and exam rooms are always clean. Dr. Akhter is very thorough with his exams and is extremely patient with his patients, our youngest is a bit active and a little spoiled. We’ve always had wonderful experiences with Dr. Akhter and would recommend him to anyone looking for a pediatrician.

I love this office.. when my daughter had her first check up after she was born, he immediately caught her dehydration, addressed it and sent us to Children’s.. if it wasn’t for him I may not have my beautiful baby today since I was unaware I didn’t produce enough milk.. he always does whatever he needs to do my baby feels comfortable and is smiling by the end of the apt

I have never left a bad review in my life, but Dr. Syed Akhter prompted me. He was the referred pediatrician of the hospital I gave birth at, and had to meet with us before we could be discharged. He stopped by for maybe 30 seconds and didnt even look at my newborn. Granite he did perform tests on her in the nursery, but I expected more then a hi bye. We had to go see him a few days after giving birth, and the experience was less then one star. He acted as if he had somewhere else to be the entire time he was examining my little baby girl. My husband and I were well put together and came prepared with questions. He did not even ask if we had any questions before trying to slip out the door! Then while answering my questions he explained nothing. I was prepared with follow up questions and wanted further explanation as this is our first child. To top it all off, when my husband was swaddling our newborn in preparation to leave, he stated, be careful with the baby, be careful with the baby. I could not believe he had the nerve to say that! Especially because Zack is quite proficient at swaddling. I guess that was the only advice he wanted to send us home with. Overall, I was extremely disappointed in this Dr, and would only warn others looking for a pediatrician not to pick him. With the exception of Janica, all the other staff we interacted with were as equally dismissive.

Funny, good with kids. Efficient without making patients feel rushed. Seperate waiting room for sick children.

Horrible location and parking at UT. The staff was great and very friendly. Place is clean and quick in and out. LOCATION IS HORRIBLE. IF you can even find a parking spot in nearest parking garage you have a good mile walk to get to your doctor. They actually expect new moms to do this? Plus lets hope you dont have to do blood work because then they will send you to the middle of the huge hospital to try and find it! They dont even offer to pay the $3 back you have to pay for parking EVERY time you go. Stay far away from the UT location its not worth it.

I really like the dr but i dont like the parking and some of his nurses could look cleaner and more professional..

Dr.Akhter has taken exceptional care of our youngest Makady and Makiah since Makadys first month she is now 6. He and his very kind staff are both professional and wise, listening to our concerns when illness appears.I Happily recommend Dr. Akhter to any parents or care givers needing a great Pediatrician for their child.
