I called over two weeks ago seeking treatment for chronic pain. I was advised that I needed a referral and 3 months of chart notes which I had sent in that day. Some one called me last week to screen me. One of the questions was if I used marijuana. I advised them that I used CBD oil to control inflammation and nausea. She asked if I would quit if I were prescribed an opioid. I said I would doubt it but I would be willing to discuss it with a provider because I have never gotten adequate pain relief from any opioid I have ever had before, they make my skin itchy, I use CBD oil everyday and I dont even know what options are available.I called today because I had not heard back from them yet. They advised me that they would not be able to even have a consultation with me to discuss treatment options unless I was willing to commit to give up the CBD 100% and the doctor would have no discussion with me.I find this disturbing, especially during an opioid epidemic. Treatment alternatives were not even presented to me and I was turned away because I have been responsible with my medicinal care. This strikes me as irresponsible and unprofessional medicine, but I am not an expert.

My mom was referred here when she was in her late 80s. She had been an RN many years ago so she knew something about the medical world. She had horrible problems with pain from arthritis and long-term problems and she needed narcotics to manage her pain.Ultimately moms primary care doctors felt that they could not prescribe the levels of narcotic medicine that she needed, so they referred her to LWPM.My mom was not an addict. I mean she really wasnt. But she was always treated as an addict when she came here. The front desk staff was cold, although they did what they had to do. There was no sense of compassion from the front desk. I assumed they were used to a lot of addicts trying to work the system.I will say that this clinic controlled Moms pain and adjusted her dosage as needed.Mary, the ARNP in the office, was wonderful. My mom always hoped she would get Mary. Dr. Neibert was a bit different. He always wrote the RX she needed, but he was more combative. The thing that bothered me most about Dr. Naibert was on one visit he told us that he was a Trump supporter, and he believed that the social safety net should be disbanded and that we should go back to a world where churches provide the safety net.He is entitled to his opinion, but we did not share it, and we felt it was totally inappropriate for a clinical setting.I mean what do you do or say? You need the RX for your pain, so you sit there and nod. I mean FFS. And he was very often gone on safari to Africa or wherever, to kill animals. There was this really creepy feeling about going there. My mom felt it. It was like the front desk staff thought everyone was scamming, and the doctor did not seem very compassionate. The whole office felt like they had had way too much experience getting punked by addicts. My mom fell and died after a couple weeks. This had nothing to do with this clinic. She was just unstable on her feet. And when she was admitted to the hospital, I told them what her RX was, and they were kind of horrified, but I did not feel mom was over-treated. Her doctors at Overlake were kind of horrified, but they were not pain management specialists. I got so angry at them when mom was dying. She was clearly in pain and they were prescribing a fraction of what she had been on before. I kept telling the doctors that they were under prescribing and she was moaning in pain.It was not until the hospital put Mom on hospice care, and Evergreen Hospice came in that I felt she was getting the treatment she needed. When I explained her history to the nurse, he immediately upped her doses so she would not die in pain.So I give them 3 stars. I hated the front desk. Dr. Naibert made me feel uncomfortable. Mary was so kind.

After moving from Vermont to Washington, this was my first visit. From my first phone contact with them, they were fantastic! The staff went above and beyond to help me. Each staff member was professional, courteous and so helpful. I wish I knew every name but a very special thank you to Rebecca and Amy! Dr Naibert was so smart, “straight-shooting” but great about explaining things thoroughly. I encourage you to contact them if you need this kind of service. I’m so thankful I did!

Ive been a patient of Dr. Naiberts for about 3 years now and hes contributed greatly to saving my life. I suffered severe back damage from a serious car accident on I5 when I was 6 months pregnant 13 years ago (was airlifted to Harborview as my car was flipped on the freeway). I was referred to Dr. Matthews in Bellevue and for the next 10 years I was under his care....I trusted him. Then I got a call from the state. His license was being revoked for constant overprescribing and abusing his oath. I was terrified, where would I go? Who was going to gain 10 years of knowledge of my injuries and my case? Would I have to start all over again with building trust? I found Dr. Naibert and from day 1 Ive been in great hands. My very 1st appt i found out I was being OBSCENELY overprescribed (I was on 4 80mg Oxycontin and 24 30mg Oxycodone A DAY) on my own I weaned myself off all Oxycontin and with Dr. Naiberts careful guidance Ive tapered WAAAAAY down off the Oxycodone and will be completely opioid free one day very soon. Sooo amazing. These bad reviews youre seeing are from keyboard commandos and internet troll warriors who are probably doctor shoppers and were booted from Naiberts clinic, they also dont have the integrity to share their concerns with Naibert, instead they (like 80% of millennials and snowflakes today) run to their keyboards to spew lies and damage a really good doctors name. Dont come to this clinic if youre just looking for your next fix, you arent going to get past my no-nonsense, no b.s., no muss no fuss Doctor. And I feel safer just knowing that about him. He also has some of the best staff at the front desk, the sweetest gals are there to greet you every time. Very clean and organized waiting area. The walls are adorned with Naiberts amazing photography he himself took. Hes proud of his 20 year recovery story and thats one of the biggest reasons I trust him with my life.

STAY AWAY, This Dr. ? is a former addict who lost his licence and never should have been allowed to practice. The dirty office is empty except with people who look like street addicts. He will NOT listen to you and will run you down. Ignorant individual with a huge ego.

I have lifelong chronic pain and had to find a new doctor when the pain specialist I had seen for many years retired. Dr. Naibert had absolutely no compassion for my lifelong pain that had been well controlled with opiods, and seemed to take great pleasure in telling me how evil opiods are. If you have long-term chronic pain and need someone who cares that you will be in pain with little to no help from medication, STAY AWAY FROM THIS CLINIC! He has no understanding of REAL chronic pain.

Ive been a happy and relatively pain free patient for over five years. Unlike the other negative reviews, I understand pain specialist must stay on top of the demanding and ever evolving regulations. These regulations mean patients must also follow specific rules placed on them by the provider at Lake Washington Pain Management. Some of these rules may not make sense to those who refuse to adapt as required to ensure their pain management plan doesnt put their lives in danger. One drug screen showed nicotine. They were quick to question me on this fearing I had begun using tobacco products. Nicotine can negatively interact with some medications.Prior to being accepted as a patient at Lake Washington Pain Management I was being grossly over prescribed. In addition I was prescribed a deadly combination of medication. Being accepted to the Lake Washington Pain Management may have very well saved my life. In addition to weaning me off prescriptions with deadly interactions Doctor Naibert began immediately reducing the grossly over prescribed medication. It took nearly two years, but we were able to comfortably and painlessly reduce my med by 80% (***every patient, their prescriptions, and their situation is different. Do not use my experience as a template for your individual treatment plan***).Weve been so successful reducing my meds and tweaking meds/therapies, I was able to reduced meds a further 33% on my own last year. It is true, less is indeed more. Prior to Dr Naibert accepting me as a patient I would wake with horrible headaches each and every day. My previous doctor simply kept increasing the doses while adding in and trying new medications. That provider nearly killed me. There were serious signs I was overdosed. However I didnt know what or how to recognize signs of overdose. Besides I was being treated by a pain specialist....right? Wrong. I would pass out and sleep for hours any time of the day. I gained over 45 pounds eating anything with sugar and drank 12 cups of coffee a day. To be fair I have complex injuries and conditions. However that is no excuse for over dosing me and prescribing me a deadly cocktail. After switching doctors I asked the pharmacist about the deadly cocktail; she admitted she had concerns and phone the doctor multiple times over the years but was told she had no need for concern. She now knows to report deadly prescription interactions when a provider shows indifference and she feels the patient in danger. Sadly not all pharmacist have the courage to confront doctors and report potentially deadly prescriptions. As others have noted Dr. Naibert can be intense. To some his personality and opinions may be too much..... however he is now retired. Although retired he has filled in a time or two. This clinic serves the diverse public. As such patients are also diverse. Which clearly indicates this clinic does not discriminate, seek high net worth cash only patients, or operate as a pill mill. And yes, like all other pain clinics there are addicts who show up with a valid referral seeking treatment. All I can say on that is Ive never seen those who appear sketchy twice. They likely were refused opioids. This clinic is not dirty, nor a pill mill for street addicts. The gentleman who posted the false review was likely not accepted as a patient, was refused an opioid prescription, or was told he would no longer be treated because he failed a drug test.I trust Lake Washington Pain Management with my life. I honestly believe they saved my life.Give them a call if you want a provider who cares and will work with you to find the correct pain management plan tailored to your specific needs.
