The number one - most important thing you can do when you decide to have a dental or medical procedure is to choose the best practitioner. Dr Shawn Keller is a rockstar at the top of his profession.For over a year, I researched practitioners in Western Washington. I saw two top docs in Seattle, one in Everett and one in Bellevue. I felt like a number. A couple of them rolled their eyes when I asked questions and another seemed overwhelmed by my case and one actually said “my favorite patients are the ones who hate their smiles because no matter what I do for them it’s an improvement.”Fifth time’s a charm! When I saw Dr Keller for my consultation I was greeted warmly while all Covid protocols were carefully followed. Pictures and a ct scan were taken! It was the most thorough process. Armed with my research and questions I was ready for Dr Keller. As I referred to my list of questions; Dr Keller sat down with me and said “It makes my job much easier when a patient takes the time to research and formulate questions!” He showed me exactly where my needs were as he pointed them out on my scan. He explained each procedure in great detail including photos and videos. He laid out options for me with the number one item being that I had an infection in an old root canal that had failed. He insisted that we take care of that first and that anything else could wait.For the failed root canal he prescribed an implant so we moved forward with that which was nearly pain free. With the use of stem cell therapy it healed unbelievably fast and I had my crown within 8 weeks!I had some old metal fillings and porcelain crowns that had metal underneath them that I wanted to get rid of. All of my dental work had been done many years ago and after decades of clinching I was literally crushing my teeth, cracking them and causing bone loss and TMJ. I knew I needed an improved bite and I was worried about what could be happening under the metal that X-rays can’t penetrate.Dr Keller uses all metal free restorations. He explained and showed me that X-rays can actually penetrate the porcelain he uses as though it were enamel so it would be much easier to detect any future issues under a crown.From my consultation through the entire process the team at Smiles by Design were warm, professional, caring and so supportive. All of my questions and concerns were answered with care and backed up by amazing results. They educated me every step of the way. I highly recommend Smiles by Design if you have any dental or neuromuscular/TMJ issues. Dr. Keller and his entire staff are all so welcoming and radiate positive energy; its hard not smile when youre in their office! About 16 years ago I had dental bonding put on my top front four teeth, and over the years it started chipping away. I knew I would eventually get veneers and finally made the decision to go for it this year. I did a ton of research before deciding on Smiles by Design, and am so thankful that I did! I had been experiencing headaches on my left side and ringing in my ears for years, and it turns out it was due to TMJ issues. By using their bite scanner, Smiles by Design was able to show me how my jaw was misaligned. I was given a lower orthotic which helped by lower jaw reposition itself and reduce my TMJ symptoms. Originally I intended to only get four upper veneers and that was it. However I am so happy I was able to receive TMJ treatment as well! After learning about bite alignment, I decided to get veneers on all of my upper teeth instead of only four. I cannot say thank you enough to Smiles by Design! I love my pretty teeth :D

Buckle up – I have some good news to share:I want to use this review to really explain how Smiles by Design – the entire team – has taken incredible care of me. I have an extensive health history with gastroparesis and comorbidities for over 12 years, and my journey to needing a plan of care for my eroded and broken teeth was at its end point. I desperately needed a plan that would be addressed urgently, appropriately, and also provide longevity in my oral health. With Dr. Keller, for the very first time I have found a dentist where I am excited for appts, my anxiety is non-existent, and there is no fear of judgment, and I have a full understanding of his comprehensive process.From the very first consult Vera was able to answer all my questions regarding my treatment plan options, the costs and timelines associated with each (all of which were big sources of anxiety for me). During my second consult I met with Dr. Keller and his energy and excitement was insane in all the positive ways. He answered every question patiently and with the data to back up why he does what he does and how he does it. With a treatment plan established I was able to dictate which additional treatments I would or would not be able to pursue due to financial constraints and again I was reassured that my entire process would still be perfected, regardless. He presented me with every option and gave me the autonomy to decide what I could afford and with which I felt comfortable, again without an ounce of judgment. My gut finally felt like I was making the right decision – I found my guy.When you meet his team you meet his family. Jackie will get your entire mouth numb better than anyone else this side of the Mississippi. She laid out a solid plan of care for me at home to maintain and improve my gum health. But put on your adult pants because she cares immensely and will hold you accountable for your home routine. Jozelle did all the bite treatments with me and was a huge emotional support for me from start to finish. When you call Susie panicky about money she calmly brings you back down to earth. Anna will come in as a close second for your biggest supporter, only slightly behind Dr. Keller himself.Dr. Keller is an artist and a perfectionist. When we were done with my temporary crowns (prior to my permanent porcelain) there were small changes that needed to be made, and he took an additional 30 minutes to an hour to rebuild, reshape, redo whatever needed to be done so they were perfect both aesthetically and with my bite pattern. Throughout the process he was also an incredible teacher to his staff. He asked them to see what he was doing/seeing and confirming they understood the how’s and why’s. It was lovely to be a part of their learning process, and to see a practitioner care about educating and building up his staff at every possible moment.I can smile again. I can laugh again. So many friends from various stages of my life are messaging me to say they’ve missed this smile, that it looks incredible and natural, that they can hear my laugh through pictures. It goes far beyond being able to eat certain foods (like fried chicken) again without fear of my teeth breaking. Dr. Keller and his team have restored a joy in me that hasn’t had a chance to come through. I have genuine artwork in my mouth and I couldn’t hide it if I tried.

To start with I cant give a 10, a 4.9 does not do justice, I waited a while to post here as i wanted to make sure im as detailed as the staff and the state of the art beautiful facility Dr. Shawn and his staff are, I started my journey to a new me roughly 2 years ago I went to another facility and had a consultation, like anyone should do, then i discovered Dr. Shawn Keller and his fantastic staff and facilities and never looked back,on my original consultation in the old facility which was very up to date also, when I first met Dr. Shawn and his staff, from starting the first process like most I did not like going to the dentist, until then, from the most up to date and beautiful facility which feels more like home to the most modern and top of the line equipment and the first class staff and most highly trained i have ever dealt with from Stephanie, Jessica, Lilly Rouissa, and a couple of the other staff i dont know their name Im sorry, and to the most important, the lab staff that absolutely does miracles with the process of making and matching the product to perfection, you dont see Dr. Shawn a lot as hes busy with consulting and and changing patients lives everyday, the most compassionate professional detailed artist in his trade I admire him and his whole staff as I know how hard they work and worked to achieve I believe the best dentistry in the state, I personally didnt care about the cost as I knew this was the place for me to have work done, when you have a detailed specialty has this one tells you the trust experience and confidence DR. My name is Gail Miller. I want to share my story with you. I grew up with poor dental care which created a fear of dentists. Throughout my years, I have had so many fillings, extractions, broken bridges, crowns, and root canals I was finally ready for a change. I was in constant pain with my mouth. From my first phone call till I walked out of the door when I was done I was greeted and met with some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. I was super nervous. I had been planning this step of my life for a long time. I had a same day new smile procedure done. I am from out of state and all had to be planned around when I flew in. Lee was my pt coordinator. Jessica did all my records. Stephanie was with me in surgery day every step of the way and Susie answered all my phone calls. I came to Dr. Keller with not a whole lot of financial options, but I was in desperate need of dental work. I have had all of my teeth replaced with two bridges consisting of 4 implants per bridge. All work was performed by Dr. Keller, Smiles by Design. At first I was a little skeptical, but my apprehensions were quickly overcome by the professional staff and the answering of all my questions and concerns. Included with the same day smile guarantee, Dr. Keller has an excellent follow up program, fine tuning the implants so they look as natural as possible. I eat just about everything I want including nuts, apples, steak and even coconut. There are a few days after surgery where I was a little uncomfortable and diet was reduced to soups and smoothies, but I did lose 7 lbs of unnecessary weight. All in all I couldnt be happier with my new set of teeth. I even travelled over 300 miles to get to Dr. Kellers office. It was well worth the trip.

Smiles by Design with Dr. Shawn Keller and the whole Team changed my life. I suffered from TMJD symptoms due to my bite imbalance and missing teeth, it caused me chipping and wearing down of my front teeth. I experienced headaches and jaw popping and it made it so uncomfortable to eat and chew food it also affected my self confidence because I don’t want to smile as much. I did bite treatment with neuromuscular work up to correct my bite first using an orthotic and once we got rid of my headaches, he duplicated the proper bite alignment with permanent solution. In my case, he restore my worn down teeth with a new beautiful porcelain veneers. The whole experience was exceptional and I would say very advance. The whole team are very friendly and skilled. They explained the results and gave me all my options. I had TMJ that had been becoming increasingly painful. Dr. Shawn Keller is very knowledgeable and caring. Ive been a devoted client of Dr. Keller and Smiles by Design for almost 10 years! To state it plainly, genetics and early substance abuse contributed to a challenging oral health environment!
