They will not let me thru the guard gate because I have an older VA identification card. I cant get in to get a new card with my old card. Need new card to get in. Its a catch 22.

I think they do a great job. They always respond to my phone calls and email inquiries and the Dr always spends time with me and does a great job. Its true they dont offer everything, but I find it a little absurd to think they could or should. Youre receiving free health care, and the VA tries their best with limited funds and resources. I am a service connected post 9-11 veteran who did the hardest of jobs and was injured doing so, and have gone to the VA since I was 23, I had no other choice as my issues were great enough no other insurance was an option. All of my friends and acquaintances who were truly hurt in the line of duty seldom have issues or complaints.I am grateful for the VA and their care. People should learn to be less quick to complain. My experience is always great and always has been, sure things arent always perfect, but I have interacted with family and friends in private practice and I can sure tell you they dont have it better.Youre living in the Florida Keys, so I am guessing thats by choice, be grateful a clinic is here at all, let alone this one which is pretty darn good. I am polite and have a good attitude, perhaps that plays a role in their being the same?Great place, super clean, awesome staff, we are all very lucky to have them. Keep up the good work!

I Ran out of eliquis so i asked the Key West VA clinic to assist me in getting a small supply to get me home. There response was no you have to see your primary. I said there is a 30 day prescription in the system. They still refused to help me. I then called the VA hospital in Miami they also said see your primary. What is wrong with these people. As a traveling veteran Im shocked

I am a 100% disabled veteran. While on vacation in Key West my knee became swollen to the point I could not sleep or walk (only hobble). At 8 am I arrived at the VA outpatient clinic. Upon entering a gentleman ask how can I help you. I informed him I would like to see a Dr. about my knee condition. He asked my last name and last four. He appeared to pull up my information on the computer. Afterwards he informed me that the Dr that provided for walk-ins transferred to Miami so they had no one to see me. Asked if I had Tri-card and informed me that I should go to Advanced Emergency Care in Key West and use my insurance. 6/12/2019

Absolutely the worse VA location Ive been to. Ive seen the administration staff sit down doing nothing while the phones were ringing off the hook and patients were waiting to be seen. They never answer the phone and they never return a call. The medical staff is on point but the problem is that you simply cant get to them. The VA administration needs to clean house here. Every administrative person should be fired and replaced immediately!

It is impossible to contact the Clinic by phone. The administrative staff is not interested in answering calls, only in maybe replying to your voice mail message. The administrative staff is slow in making appointments and in processing referrals. You, the Patient, will have to follow up on everything. Unfortunately, this means having to visit the clinic to make sure all is well as the administrative staff does not answer the phone and may take days to reply to your voice mail. The nurses are very professional, though one has a listening problem caused most likely by constantly talking over Patient. The doctors are excellent. The waiting room is always a mess.

My husband has multiple, chronic health issues, requiring constant monitoring. We have NEVER had anything but excellent care from this clinic, starting with the clerks as you enter the complex.Dr. Bond is diligent, kind and patient with both my husband and myself. He hand writes all changes in medications and explains why they are being added or withdrawn AND follows up through the Nurse and Pharmacist. Our trips to Miami V.A. for specialized treatment, and hospitalizations, have always gone smoothly, thanks to our KW Clinic setting everything up for us.It has been almost 4 yrs since we moved to Key West, we have had numerous hospitalizations, and endless followups...still ongoing, but this I know, my husband would NOT be alive today, were it not for the care provided by the Key West V.A. Clinic and the Miami V.A. Hospital.May I respectfully suggest to those of you who demean this clinic, that you LEARN how to correctly access the care available for you. There is a protocol in place to serve the needs of ALL patients. Arriving here in a crises is NOT in your best interests, and WILL probably result in you being advised to go to the nearest emergency room or to Miami.

The issue with being a female Veteran is that you will always be treated like an inconvienance by the VA and your fellow Veterans. I have had several instances of discrimination here starting with being refused a walk in or any appointment by a former desk staff member. I am a pain contract Veteran as well as being on several medications that going off these medication without a step down process is actually dangerous, all of which I advised the desk staff and was still told I had to wait 3 months to have a appointment. I had seriouse issues having lost my pain medication, synthroid, antidepressant, seizure medication and nerve meds. I finally dragged myself through the 3 months show up for my appointment and am told I can not check in yet because I need to wait for a Russian guy she is flirting with that was one of the if you hook us up with translation services and info on areas and locals gossip we will let you come to US and give you Veteran status foriegn assistance guys to fill out paperwork to be part of the Key West outpatient clinic. cause widdle Russian guy twisted his ankle. I havent had any of my medications in 3 months and am Special disabled from his conversations across the office he isnt service connected so by VA regulation would be low man on totum pole as far as priority while I only would have 100%ers above me but after being refused for 3 months a stand by/walk in nurses appointment so I can get my meds I now get to witness this disgusting disply while being refused the ability to even sign in for my appointment. I was called to ask if I wanted to come early for an appointment as a doctor was needing to leave early. I get there within 5 mins of the call. I can not sit as part of my disability and when I am flared up even on my pain meds it is almost impossible to control the pain on bad days. This was an Aweful day!Front desk girl (no longer there) checks me in and so I am standing by for 30 mins and am actually crying because of how much pain I am in and I hear her doing her flirt thing with a guy that has just come in (it has been about half an hour ). and she is telling him that he is going to get to be bumped ahead of me because she called two of us to fill in these newly opened slots but rather than go by who came first or even realizing that they have seen for 2 years at this point the pain having to stand around waiting for appointments increases my pain exponentialy and the guy behind me is not in pain at all. But HE comes 30 mins after me and getas to be given the 8 slot and I wasgiven the 8:30 which ended up being almost 10:30. I had the Psychology department tell me after multiple months that if I wanted to actually talk about my rape by a active duty doctor that I need to go in an in- patient program. These morons know that I am a single parent so instead of getting a MILITARY SEXUAL TRAUMA counselor they want me to put my kid in foster care and go to an inpatient psych ward. Welcome to the VA where Occaums Razor is never going to happen. There were times when I had started to trust this office but then the true colors shine again and I see they are like all VAs with staff willing and enjoying mocking patients. If you are a female Veteran you are going to keep getting treated like crap by psychology so just dont. even bother we really need a VET CENTER down here but I doubt they will ever do that. I do give it 3 stars as there are enough competant staff that if you can get an appointment you will recive proper care. The issue it going to be a few typical VA staff that are out to play the motrin fixes everything game. Part of my MST PTSD is dealing with new VAs and new doctors. Sadly we have a new idiot pain enforcer instead of pain management doctor. VA didnt want to work with a doctor that actually CARED if patients were in pain and wanted to try to get meds and other options adjusted to optimize Pain MANAGEMENT. So now we have another one of the you have to beg for actual care while being talked down too and mocked. And it will be a fight to use your choice.
