I’ve been here a million times between my two kids but last week was my most notable experience. From the greeter at urgent care to the security guard, the patient access rep and nursing staff… everyone was so great to my little guy and myself. My boy was really ill and projectile vomited all over himself and the area we were sitting in. I didn’t need to ask for help, everyone including security came and helped me. I know that some people expect that treatment but I don’t. I truly appreciated the care we received.

We were told we would be billed in patient at this facility since they take Aetna and we have Aetna and they still billed out patient price $1500 for a quick sonogram. The lady at the front desk also told us at check in that the bill would only be $100 or $200. This place constantly charges out patient pricing even for in network insurance and before hand lies to you about how you will be billed and how much and when you call in they refuse to make any changes. I will never use this facility ever again.

My 10 year-old son has a diagnosis of Tourettes Syndrome. He typically sees Jayme Karagrice once a year to evaluate how things are going in preparation for the start of the new school year. We saw Jayme and the team at CMH Northland this week. I wish that I could give more than 5 stars! From our very first experience with Marilyn, to Kristen, our nurse, our sweet boy was loved, spoken to, engaged and cared for. Jayme spends the necessary time to get to know her patients and provides ample resources for their success. I am grateful for the experience. Thank you, Jayme, you have no idea what these small intentional moments mean in the lives of those you serve. Kudos.

The current staff at this location are calm, friendly, and helpful. The woman at the front desk was perfectly polite and warm to me on the phone and that transferred over when I met her in person.. I really needed that. They got my child in and out but didnt lack in quality anywhere, all staff were exceptional in their positions, and I left confident in my knowledge of after care. I highly recommend this location.

Front office staff completely messed up our insurance info and nobody would fix it. Tried contacting them with no response, tried updating via the site with no response and so now we just had to pay the bill that should have been covered. They didn’t even deduct the copay from the total bill so it’s all a mess and someone obviously messed up. How could they manage to have us pay a copay in office but then not bill insurance? Makes ZERO sense!Save yourself the frustration and go to the Broadway location or better yet find another doctor outside of CM all together.

I will have to say this is one of the best places I have ever been for Urgent Care. As soon as you walk in the security officer directs you to where you need to be. Great customer service! We have a little while away because we were walking but once we got to the back TRACY GEIER WAS THE BEST NURSE EVER, she said youll probably be done with about 30 minutes. This little lady was moving around handling business talking getting stuff done two steps ahead of the game. Hopefully we dont have to go back but I dont know if you can request your favorite nurse but we will request Tracy! 1/6/20

Let me kick it off by saying the care my child received was just fine. My son has had PT, a hearing test and a eye exam here, with no issues. The staff was fine and I felt good about the care we received. My issue is with billing. Just today, I received a bill from CM for my childs eye exam, FROM AUGUST! Two years ago, my child received PT from Oct. thru Dec. I total of 4 visits. Again, I did not get billed for any of said visits until February. I know it takes a little time for insurance claims to be processed but I feel as this is extreme. My theory is this. CM, no matter when you received services, waits to process claims and payments to see how frequently you come in. So either you A) go to your appointment, perhaps pay a co-pay and think the insurance company paid the rest, then receive a bill in the mail, months down the road or B) receive services regularly, rack up for 3, 4, 5 office visits and get billed for them all at the same time, months down the road. Ridiculous! My question is this, why cant I be billed for appointments within a week or two of said appointments? Its bad enough that CM is the only childrens hospital in the area, ( a racket) The cost of medical is extreme for anyone and most folks live on a budget (i.e. have to plan ahead for costs). I find the whole situation absurd. Therefore, I will avoid taking my child to CM as much as possible. If we have a situation, well just go to the ER. At least there, their is transparency.

Lets start off with the nurse, she was rude and too good for the patients. The doctor came in and she started her report to him but we had to keep correcting her which just showed she was never listening. The doctor did not seem too worried about timeliness with our daughter. Mind you she is not even 2 yet. She had been throwing up for 2 days and went 8 hours no pee diaper. They did give her zofran which helped but no after treatment to help her. Next morning throwing up again. I dont like seeing my daughter sick, so this is very irritating that they showed no real care.

We went to this urgent care last week for our daughters double ear infection. They gave us the wrong dosage for her drops and we were out 5 days into the 10 days she was supposed to be on them. My husband called with concern to their nurse line and they said theyd call us back in 20 minutes. 56 minutes later I called as we hadnt recieved a call from a nurse. I was concerned as our daughter has had many issues with ear infections in the past and has had to have tubes put in. I expressed my concern for her and that she had already gone over a day without drops, and the lady on the line said we had 5 people in front of us still and they will get to us when they get to us. Instead of saying that she was very sorry it was taking so long or anything like that. I myself spend all day talking to people about medical concerns and understand the level of care and concern you need to have for people. Whoever is handling the nurse hotline and taking messages for them needs to take a class in customer service because instead of being kind and reassuring, she was rude and pessimistic and even though she was probably being honest there are probably many other ways to go about talking to a concerned parent in this situation.

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had in a medical setting. I took my 8 month old daughter in on Friday because our Pediatrician told us to go in if her fever continued to go up. Everything started out well with the check-in process and the person who took her vitals was very friendly. They took her temp under her arm and it was 101. I was then told by the nurse and the PA that 101 is not considered a fever. I found that odd because 101 is the threshold in which our daycare sends children home. My daughter had been sweating and very warm to the touch. I asked the PA if 101 wasnt a fever then how could we explain her being so warm to the touch. The PA had the audacity to tell me, Well, it is getting hotter outside. Not only is that comment demeaning, but it implies I dont know the difference of when my child is ill or has just been outside and is sweating. By that point I could see she wasnt going to be helpful but against my better judgement I continued to ask questions. I asked what the best way to take my daughters temp would be in order to best monitor her fever at home. She stated that before the age of 1, rectal is the most accurate. Thats funny, because her temperature was taken under her arm when we arrived. This told me that they were not taking us seriously from the beginning. We will certainly not be coming back here for any medical reason, and this interaction now has me questioning our relationship with our pediatrician as they are affiliated with Childrens Mercy. Im sorry my daughters temperature didnt qualify for her to be treated as a real patient.

The male nurse who saw us was extremely rude and completely refused to answer any questions. Every single time I’ve taken my kids here I’ve been disappointed. This is the second time I’ve taken a child there and we won’t ever return. They don’t actually treat patients or even care about children. They lose us in the system (which we brought this to their attention that his initials had disappeared). They tell us to not worry that just means we’re next. Well, we were not. Ended up being the last appt. Started this process at 6:30 pm and didn’t leave until 9:45 pm. Did not test for or mention flu. Had a nurse do a rapid strep test even though he had didn’t present with classic strep symptoms. They didn’t even check for swollen glands which is standard with a strep diagnosis. I feel like we were slighted due to their mistake and desire to get out of there as it was nearly 2 hrs after close. A very expensive, frustrating experience to say the least. We’ll be going elsewhere tomorrow. That’s time and money, at my child’s expense, that we’ll never get back. Shame on you children’s mercy!

We visited this location for the first time on Christmas Eve to get a dislocated elbow reduced and we had a great experience. We easily made an appointment online and then headed out since it was a bit of a drive. When we checked in the computer said it was a 35-minute wait for those without appointments, which I thought to be very reasonable for a holiday. There was plenty in the lobby to keep my 3 yr old occupied and everything was very clean. We waited about 5 minutes before being called back to triage, and just another 5 minutes for the doctor to see us. All in all we waited, were evaluated, and were treated and out of there in an hour. Everyone was friendly and patient with my supremely uncooperative toddler and got her all fixed up as quickly and as minimally invasive as possible. This isnt the closet location to home but it may be worth the drive next time.

We have already been here once. Taken their advice which didnt work and they had told us if it worsens to come back. So we did since she has been running a 102 fever as an 11 month old. Yesterday My four year old had been running a high fever with chills and temp was 103-104 for the past four days with no cold symptoms, just a fever and headache. I had my husband take her in while I stayed home with my other children. I gave her ibuprofen an hour before she went in so it caused her temp to drop but my husband explained what was going on and that the fever comes right back after it wears off . The lady didn’t seem to concerned and assured him she just has a cold virus ,mind you she has no cold symptoms. my husband asked to run a flu test and came back negative . Strep came back negative as well she checked her out and sent her on her way and told us to continue ibuprofen and fluids and she’s be fine . She went to bed last night with another fever and chills woke up even more miserable so today since it was Monday we could get her into her regular doctor and all it took was her doctor to check her ears to discover my daughter has a horrible ear infection and the inside of her ear was so bad they dont understand how it was missed or looked past . Please take more time on your patients don’t rush and listen to the parents rather than assuring them it’s just a cold . I’m mind boggled on how they missed an ear infection something that her doctor checked right away and immediately found the problem .

My family was back in Kansas City from Canada for a death in the family, and my daughter came down with a fever on the plane to KC. After two days her fever only got higher, and this clinic was not only one of the few open past 5pm on a weekend, but they also do direct billing with my travel insurance company. It was also a bonus that they happened to be 10 minutes from my moms house. When we arrived, it seemed like there might be a long wait, but the very friendly woman at registration saw us after only a couple of minutes. She was very patient while entering all of our out-of country info.We were taken to a room by Nurse Clara, who was great at making my daughter feel at ease while checking vitals. We then moved to our official room, and Nurse Lisa took care of us from there. Lisa was extremely warm, friendly and helpful. Then Dr. Cita took over. She was absolutely amazing! Ive never seen a doctor so friendly and playful with a child patient. My daughter is extremely difficult with medical professionals due to a traumatic emergency room experience back home in Canada a couple of months ago, so she really gave the staff a hard time while running tests for flu and strep. The staff was very knowledgeable and understanding of my daughters distrust, and they did everything they could to run the tests quickly and effectively. Dr. Cita was knowledgeable and approachable, friendly, and she patiently answered ALL of my questions. Ill admit it: I asked Dr. Cita if she could move to Toronto. I feel no shame for this.We left there with a prescription for my babys strep throat and fluffy stuffed bunny that the staff gave to her so she will have good memories of a visit to the doctor, for once.I am not usually moved to right reviews for medical clinics or hospitals, but I believe the staff here have each found their calling. Horrible. My daughter gets blood drawn frequently so we go there strictly for lab work. Her doctor is actually downtown but the north clinic is closer to us. Weve been four times in the last couple of months. The first time they forgot about us and we waited 45 minutes. The next two times were uneventful other than the woman who draws blood (Tina) is not friendly or happy and doesnt smile. Not the kind of person you would think would be working with children. We went back Monday and after waiting 20 minutes were told that one of the lab techs had gone home sick and there were four people ahead of us. They only offered this information after I asked instead of telling me as soon as I checked in so that I could make the decision whether or not to stay. After another 30 minutes they called us back and told us there were two people ahead of us. One of whom was a family that had come in after us, had apparently already seen the doctor and was now waiting for lab work. As we were walking out, I counted 6 employees hanging out at the work area. I find it hard to believe that none of those people could have been helping draw blood. I asked to speak to the person in charge and was told that Scott was gone for the day. No one has called to apologize for the negative experience. This is not someplace I would go for personalized care. It is very inefficiently managed. We went to Childrens Mercy downtown yesterday and were in and out of the lab in 10 minutes.

Yes, endocrinology is a specialist, and my insurance Co pay for a specialist is 50 dollars. Childrens Mercy is charging for a specialty outpatient hospital visit, so basically I am paying for a hospital visit 4 times a year not a clinic office visit. I am now resolved to driving 3 hours one way to go to his previous clinic which I can afford. A tank of gas is 40 dollars. The nurses and other staff members have been professional and are always kind to my kids and I when we visit urgent care. The wait times are very inconvenient however. I can never escape this place in less than 3 hours it seems like. I typically always check in online to save my spot and we still experience a long wait time.

Many times I have taken my children into the urgent care, I wait hours to be told my child had a virus or a cold and then end up at my kids pediatrician the next day hearing my kids have bronchitis and this time RSV. This place doesn’t give the care they should to kids who need it.
