What a phenomenal experience today! I was greeted and helped out as soon as I entered this establishment. I got my eye exam rather quickly- within the first 15 mins of arriving. I say this because my last visit here was not all that great.Felt good about the Dr that examined me and Brian was exceptional in helping me figure out what frames to choose and helped me determine the best option based on my insurance. Left feeling awesome- can’t wait to get my new reading glasses, as I think they’re gonna look really great in my professional environment. All in all this was a wonderful visit!!!! Thank you!!!

Very pleasant staff. They acknowledged me when I walked in the store immediately. They took my information and asked me to browse their glasses on the wall. While I was looking Quinn came over and assisted me.We went to the table and discussed the glasses I picked out. I then proceeded to complete my purchase.Quinn was very helpful.

Cohens is amazing. Starting with the front desk young lady Kaitlin who helped me figure out my insurance information. Then the lovely MiKayla who took pics of my eyes and said they were awesome. The dr gave me a thorough examination and sent me out to Adam who helped me pick 2 super bomb pairs of glasses. I love them both so much I have a hard time picking between the 2 each day. I was told that my glasses should be in about a week and a half. I called to find out if they were in and they took my name and phone number and never got back to me. This happened several times, until I insisted that they go look while I was on the phone. Then I was informed they have a paper system so it takes at least 45 minutes for them to find my records so they will have to call me back. All I wanted was a status update of when to expect my glasses. I finally got someone to call me back who said my frames were stuck in customs (whatever that means) and that It would be another week. It’s now a week later and I’m getting the same run around. Apparently, the person who answers the phone is not allowed to look up the status of my glasses or they will be fired. They have to give my information to a technician, who never calls back. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. Who doesn’t keep their records on a computer and why does it take 45 mins to find my paper records?

I visited this location back in February and had such a great experience I decided to take my best friend today just for an eye exam. She was so pleased with everything from the start. She ended up getting her glasses while there. Dr.Durrante did a fantastic job as well as Jake who helped her with her glasses. We will definitely be back.

I have visited countless opticals and finally a doctor (Doctor Waller) that took time to explain to me what is going on with kindness and care and give me the right eye prescription. Prices are best in town too. Ms. Amy and the girls welcomed me and took time to inform me of prices and choices with the best outcome for me. I highly recommend it. Will always go back. The Assistant Manager Anthony & Associate Jake fixed my “bent out of shape” glasses that my two year old thought was one of her slinky’s 🙈 they immediately took and repaired my glasses and did not let me leave until I felt they were comfortable on my face again! Cohence Optical is the best optical to go to in Port St Lucie. Their staff from front to back are nice people and will work in your best interest, pricing is also great theyll work with you and make any suggestions that will add to your glasses fit and fashion. My appointment at Cohens Optical in Jensen Beach Mall was fantastic. I was greeted immediately and the staff were very pleasant. Throughout the entire exam process each step was explained to me in detail for my understanding. Since this was a new prescription I was able to try several pairs until I found the perfect one. Let us start first with the optometrist Dr. Soldinger. The best in my so many years of experience in the matter. He engaged both me and my wife and explained while thoroughly testing. The exam and the prescription was followed with the technician specially chosen to fit us.Both, again were amazed to see how detailed and precise, our amazing guru was. Romero with an amazing permanent smile kept on reiterating his measurements to make sure that we get fitted for the right frames.Amazing! Just between the doc, fitting and finalizing the pricing, Romero assisted us not only in showing us the special deals but as we wanted to refit our Cartier frames, he made sure that the lab would uphold the highest levels of lenses design for the frames;- and what a deal. This is the first time I’ve ever left a review for a store in my life.I had a 1:15 appointment to get a new prescription for my contacts. I ended up leaving around 3.The store was crowded, and little to no communication between staff and patients made the waiting room feel angry and tense. Many complaints were thrown out into the air while I was waiting.The nurses that finally helped me were very kind. However, the doctor raised a lot of red flags for me.First of all, a (already used, worn down, ink faded) eye dropper was used on me by the doctor quite forcibly. The dropper touched the INSIDE OF MY EYELIDS after my eyes were tested for glaucoma. I had not seen the doctor wash his hands either, and he moved too quickly for me to ask what he was doing or what the drops were.5 minutes later, I’m trying on my new contacts and I can’t feel my eyes. The nurse tells me they were numbing drops. Oh.I walk out after spending $170 on a box of contacts, an eye exam, and waiting for 1.5 hours.Never coming back here again.UncomfortableUnsanitaryLong waitUnhappy patientsDoctor was rough and rude

I guess my husband & I came on a bad (Saturday) day? Very chaotic & unprofessional. These front counter ladies (5 or 6 of them) looked as though they were confused. And in our opinion not dressed very professionally.We promptly left so I cannot review the Doctor or service. Cohens optical lost my glasses in for repair. I have contacted Cohens several times in the last 6 weeks. I was told a manager would return my call, this never happened. The last time I called about a week ago Katlin advised me Ramereo found the container with the parts in it but no glasses, he was supposed to return my call the next day, that never happened

Dr Durante asked me how did I hear about Cohens and he was blown away by my answer. I told him that I first visited Cohens in 1988 and he said that was the first year that they were open and my last visit was Oct 2012. He then said, I looked a lot different back then! I said, we both did...were talking 32yrs ago(24yrs old then) now Im sporting a chin with black and white hairs with 6 kids and 10 grands! I love this place! Very courteous and informative staff tempered with professionalism! The young man Mario was very helpful with my selection of glasses as well. The absolutely worst place on the Treasure Coast to get glasses.I ordered new frames about a month-and-a-half ago. Every time I called no one knew what was going on. And then I started getting the excuse that the frame tech wasnt in and they would have that person call back, which they never did. And then I would call and started getting the excuse that they were on back order. Never an offer to do something for me, just the same line as if it was the first time I called. I finally demanded a refund. No apologies, no effort to make this customer feel as though my business is appreciated. It obviously isnt.

Please dont waste your money here. Dr. Durante has got to be the most unprofessional doctor Ive ever met he is always groaning and when you talk to him he always responds rudely! I was being super polite, but judging from another review it may appears i was being prejudiced by Dr. Durante due to my ethnicity as well. The rest of the staff seems ok compared to Dr. Durante but they arent the most polite. They also charged more than the upfront price by more than triple.

Have went to Cohen several times over past 5 years. Wife and I have had eye exams and bought glasses 4 or 5 times and found Dr. D and staff to be very pleasant. Unfortunately the last two times I had exam and ordered glasses there were problems when I picked up glasses. First time they were sent back because apparently the prescription was not what the doctor had written and I had to wait another 2 weeks to get correct glasses. This time I was told they would be ready in 7-10 days and after 15 days I called and they were done. Again wrong prescription and glasses were useless. Will not go back.

Purchased glasses here a few years ago, customer service has declined since. Sit on hold for 10 minutes when I call to then have an employee refuse to take the time to look up an old record for me and suggest I leave a number for a call back at some time in the future.

Cohens is busy but completely worth the wait. I have never had a dr pay so much attention to my eye ,very thorough. The technicians and everyone outside of the drs room were very pleasant . At different point 5 different people came up to me and my son to make sure we were doing ok. 3 of them offered him lollipops which he was so excited. They told me more than 2 weeks to get my glasses,but I received a call that they were finished in exactly a week. I will continue to come here from now on

Update 1:45PM. This office responded to my review faster than it took me to complete my appointment. Nice try. But this was my SECOND time waiting almost an hour to complete a scheduled appointment. If this office is helping that many people, and emergencies do occur, perhaps they should get off Google review and manage their staff time better. 1:20. Rude, abrasive, demeaning. Do NOT waste your time here. Dr. Durante has lost his mind, and I was not impressed with junior, either. They are overbooked. Appointment at 12pm, it is now 12:43pm. And I am here because the prescription is wrong. Sad. This was a good business, not now. Slipshod. The receptionists are unflappable, !! (“70 year olds do not take good pictures”. A direct quote to me. Lololololololol. I need glasses, I have emerging cataracts but 3 months ago my photos required mild sharpening. With their new prescription I have to use Lightroom clarity AND sharpening on every picture.). 🤦‍♀️

If you would like a nice, trashy feel , with assistants smelling like smoke, no social distancing, packed with people and when its time to check out, they say your insurance is invalid after they talked to the Insurance company and received an authorization number, then this is the place for you.Lets not talk about the rudeness of the employees too, which their management supports and defends.Apparently the copay from insurance is just not enough for them and they need the extra money by saying your VSP insurance invalid (which it is not) have to pay more.At least the Doctor is good

I have been a patient for over 30 years. I’ve been okay with Dr. Durante’s extremely rude attitude as his staff tends to do quality work. However, I was incredibly shocked to see at least five employees, including some “doctors”, not wearing masks during a pandemic.I really wish I could go back 30 years and help put someone else’s kids through college. Although some staff does good work, the overall atmosphere in this place is not friendly at all. Avoid at all costs, unless you prefer to be treated like a customer instead of a patient.

Joel helped me fix my glasses after I got into a car accident and my glasses frames became loose and would fall off my face. I didn’t realize how easy they would be to fix or I would have done it a lot sooner. He was a lot of help and it didn’t take long at all. He got it done before I went into my eye appointment!

I have been going to Cohen Optical for years and never have had one complaint. They project great customer service and always have great quality product. Combined the two which totals an awesome experience. I will not be looking anywhere else for eye care. I highly recommend Cohen.

I came in to Cohen’s looking for new frames as my eye doctor did not have frames I liked. I came here as my insurance let me know that they were an in-network provider. When I was there, they did not want to work with me and my insurance. I was informed by my insurance provider that they just had to call it in to get an authorization. The employees of Cohen’s said that they do not do that. I ended up going to Optical World, also in the mall, where they did call my insurance, got an authorization in less than 5 minutes, and got me going with much more professionalism.

I was pleased to find such a large selection of pretty frames. I walked out with two pair for my different moods and fashion. Thanks Dr. Durante!
