We were referred to your office by our sons pediatrician for a routine basic eye exam. No complications, no special concerns - just an exam with dilation to establish a prescription for glasses. So we were SHOCKED to receive a bill for almost $600 for a visit that would cost $200 to $300 anywhere else. I wish we had known beforehand because these charges are completely ridiculous. The same doctor tried to refer us to Nemours for an x-ray, and I thank God we didnt end up needing it, because I can only imagine what the Nemours mark-up would have been on that! I will be speaking with his pediatrician about why he continues to refer patients to Nemours for routine care, because its unaffordable and completely unnecessary.
