We visited the Garden Club during their open house. We were greeted by multiple friendly and knowledgeable people. The venue is pretty and the plans for future enhancements to the garden area will be a great benefit.

Wonderful venue, worth the price. Ive been a groomsman, Ive had friends married off, Ive been to fashion shows, and birthday parties. Again, worth every penny.Inspired by the gardens of Europe, Ninah May Holden Cummer gathered a group of 17 friends in her Riverside home on March 25, 1922, to organize a garden club to create a more beautiful city. This group ultimately was to become the Garden Club of Jacksonville.When founding members created the club, they envisioned a small organization to further their garden research and to enhance city spaces. Because they did not have a clubhouse they met in individual member’s homes and this necessarily limited enrollment. However, the new club was such a success that within a few months over 100 women asked to join and the idea of garden circles was initiated. Each circle continues to have approximately 20 members who meet monthly from October to May, and they meet at the headquarters building and in neighborhoods all over the greater Jacksonville area.The Garden Club of Jacksonville was one of the four clubs founding the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs (FFGC) on April 24, 1924. During the early years the Garden Club focused on civic projects and city planning especially the creation and revitalization of city parks. The Garden Club was instrumental in preserving many of the city’s ancient live oak trees and even replaced many sycamore trees with live oaks in an effort to “Save the Trees and Make Jacksonville an Evergreen City.” The Garden Club, along with philanthropist Jessie Ball duPont helped rescue the historic Treaty Oak, a landmark well worth saving for the benefit and enjoyment of the public. It is located in what is now the Jessie Ball duPont Park on Prudential Drive.

We went for an Orchid show here and we didnt know what to expect, since it was our first time attending anything like it. However, it was exactly what I imagined. We walked in, up the few stairs, past the huge, beautiful white columns on the porch, and we were greeted by such welcoming and friendly faces. The interior is similar to a ball room, and I imagine a party or a wedding here would be incredible. The room is lined with huge windows, letting in lots of natural light so we could see the hundreds of orchids that were there. It was like the whole room had been tie dyed, there were so many colors and different types. In the back, there is a fountain and a small yard, which held a place you could get something to eat and some booths selling art. And, it was free!

Excellent Club! Its a breath of fresh air to walk into the room and feel so welcomed. The knowledge these members hold extends farther than any textbook. Its a pleasure to be a part of this group.

Such a beautiful location and venue for a wedding, or any sort of party with a lovely setting

Situated on the St Johns river just upstream from downtown, the Garden Club of Jacksonville provides an excellent event venue for medium to large parties or meetings. Gorgeous view of the river, old school charm, ample spaces both inside and outside, and convenient access from I-95 make it quite desirable for social or business functions. Simply attending an event at the Garden Club makes the day!

Wonderful free class on mushrooms and growing them. People very knowledgeable and friendly.

Innovative venue, professional staff, extremely clean environment, strong sanitation practices, convenient services for vendors, large floorplans, great rental options. Relatively expensive but the square footage, conveniences and hospitality justify the price.

Me and they kids went here on Saturday and learned some cool stuff. They were able to make a small garden as well. This is a great place to take children to learn and do hands on crafts. One lady was very pushy but they other ladies were really sweet and welcoming. They explained their club to me and how to sign up. I would definitely so stop by and visit.

Great venue to have an event. It is spacious, has a full kitchen and has a nice picture taking area in the courtyard with the water in the background. We had a wedding reception there and everyone had a great time. If you are the host, you best be sure to clean up the venue after your event to avoid getting charge extra or losing your deposit. The workers they have on hand are very patient and helpful.

Me and my wife got married here in September of last year and we couldnt have had a better experience. Judy and the entire staff made everything easy for us so we could focus on other things. Anytime we had a question Judy was able to help us out. The location is beautiful and we loved the entire experience.

This is a great club to join. The members are friendly and helpful with the beginners. They also have fun things do at the meetings and also field trips.

Wonderful area that offers an amazing venue to be rented. I was not the renter but the whole thing was beautiful. Fantastic decor with easy access to out side. Beautiful stage and wonderful lighting gives way to an amazing event to be hosted. The catering done by the kitchen was wonderful and the staff was amazing and helpful as well.

I wish I could put NO STARS! I went here this past Saturday for a wedding and it was EXTREMELY HOT! It was so hot that people were going to their car turning on the Ac or just standing outside. I have never been So hot and uncomfortable. I had to leave early.

Was here for a birthday party a few months back and offers the perfect setting for any even. Great atmosphere and visually appealing, makes for the best pictures.

We stop by it’s a beautiful place I recommend it.

Very Beautiful this time of year. Enjoyed my visit.

The Garden Club is a wonderful venue. The main hall is spacious and beautiful. The location is right next to the river and the garden in the back is also quite lovely. There is a large kitchen area for caterers to setup, and lots of parking.However there is a dark side to the Garden Club. The head maintenance man is unagreeable, he is rude and angry. Even after I was told, I had permission to use their audio system. He attacked me for touching it. This has happened to me twice there. Im really unhappy with the way I was treated. The head maintenance mans way of handling things was to say I dont care what the front office told you and I run this place and no one is aloud in there. So if you decide to use the Garden Club. Bring your own audio equipment, theres isnt all that good anyway.

We went to a wedding here a few weeks back, such a beautiful venue! Loved the chandeliers in the ballroom and big open windows.

Was here for the yearly orchid show! next year yall might want to do it outside Id it will be so crowded again! i only bought 2 orchids this year coz i got tired of fighting to get to a booth. put it outside so there is more room, i wish i could have bought more, but theres always next year!
