I would not recommend going to this place as I had a very bad experience. I have been going there for the last 4 years. While this year the location became out of network which I didnt realize nor the customer service who checks the insurance information did not notify us. With all that I ended up paying a very high bill and manager could offer anything in addition to help. They charge a lot for lab work, you need to be extra careful as if everything is covered. The doctors/nurse will not get back to you if you have lab work done, the results will be posted and you will not be contacted even when there is additional testing needs to be done or you should be seen by a doctor. I truly will not recommend this location to anyone.

I would highly recommend this primary care facility and their physical therapy unit upstairs.Dr. Tina Ardon is very knowledgeable, professional, kind, caring, understanding, doesn’t rush you, and great at what she does. I’m happy to have found such an amazing doctor. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well. They also have a Lab and X-ray unit in the building which makes things very easy and quick to get done all in one stop.Tava Buck is an amazing physical therapist as well. Very knowledgeable and attentive. She’s even recommended alternative healing methods outside of her practice that better fit my needs and budget. I would highly recommend her as well.

This doctor office is so professional and the warm and caring service you receive is like no other place. Dr Filmalter is very professional, kind, caring and knows her Sports Medicine. Also Dr Waugh excellent physician. Edsel Bittencourt is a top notch physical therapist would recommend to all in need of therapy. Sometime the wait might be long but it’s worth it but anytime I have an emergency or illness they make openings available. Been with Mayo for many, many years and I have not been disappointed with there services. Totally recommend this facility and any department part of Mayo Clinic. #1 and Best Hospital in Florida. Thank you.

Do not trust Mayo Oncology. Dr. Tan and his team did my mother a huge disservice and essentially ignored her during treatment for Melanoma causing her decline and death 4 months later. They sold her a 92K treatment at 75 years old that they knew would kill her.Severe side effects were not explained in detail and monitoring of the patient is done 100% through an app on your phone. Her heath continued to decline from lack of monitoring and was then denied another treatment to strop progression of immunotherapy and all the terrible side effects and was told insurance declined but to just wait and mayo will try and recode in attempt to get it covered. We offered to pay OUT OF POCKET for the treatment and were told no by Mayo and pushed off the radar. In the meantime my mothers colon burst and then, wouldnt you know, they had to perform an emergency irreversible ileostomy at the tune of thousand of more dollars. Mayo is not the be-all end-all of hospitals. The lack of patient care is astounding and disgusting. They are coffin chasers and only look out for themselves. RUN from this place if you have cancer.

Overall I like this place. You will have a wait past your scheduled appointment time. You will have some times where you have to call them to get scripts refilled that the pharmacy has already sent multiple requests for. And you will have to check for yourself the results of tests and then figure out what to do/ask them for a referral, etc. Know this and set your expectations accordingly. That being said, I’ve had all of these issues at every doctor I’ve seen in the past 11 years. I think it’s one of those, too many patients to doctors ratio, but that is the same almost everywhere. My GP is very pleasant and works with me to keep everything going as smoothly as he can. He doesnt give me long winded speeches about things that I know/are obvious or judge. He gets straight to it and I appreciate that. So again, I think it’s an ok place to go.

Dr. Crick is a phenomenal, compassionate, and humble doctor. I have only seen Dr. Filmalter once, but she, too, is incredible. Edsel Bittencourt is also an incredible physical therapist with so much knowledge. Most of all, they are very kind and actually care about their patients.

Was told they were accepting new patients. Called set everything up but they were booked up until the middle of my vacation which is as far as their calendar went. I was advised to call back in two weeks when the calendar would be open past my vacation time. I did and was now told now I had to go on a waiting list and would be called when they had openings. Who handles their health care like this? I wanted to start using Mayo because I had heard great reviews about how they treat people and make health care convenient. being pushed off a month and then told you have to go on a waiting list is not treating people right nor is it convenient.

Top notch service on all counts, from the schedulers to the nurses and doctors. Its actually a pleasure to finally have a medical provider that treats you with respect and works very hard to meet your schedule and make sure youre accommodated...been a long time.

Just got off the phone with this clinic. Very disappointed at the poor office management. My fiancé and I have had an appointment scheduled for May with Dr. Crick since late February. After waiting for months, they recently reached out to my fiancé and told him the doctor would not be in that day and the appointment had to be rescheduled. I called today to reschedule and the receptionist told me the system didn’t show that my fiancé ever had an appointment and he would have to be put on a waitlist because they are no longer accepting patients. Unless you enjoy waiting for months to see a doctor and then have your appointment suddenly canceled by office staff (who will then deny fault and imply that you are lying), stay away from this office. Not what I expected from a Mayo Clinic establishment.

The nurse practitioners at this office are truly terrible and should not be in the health care industry. I was given a prescription for an MRI here. I shopped around for an MRI facility to use (other than Mayo) because I have found in the past that I can save hundreds of dollars on medical tests by not using Mayo. I found that I can have the same test done at Baptist for half the price. I phoned my insurance company and they told me that it really didnt matter where I had the test as far as they were concerned: both Mayo and Baptist were in-network providers under my plan.I phoned Baptist and explained to them that I wanted to have an MRI done there, but that my doctor was a Mayo doctor. They told me that it wasnt a problem and that all I needed to do was get an authorization... specifically a change location authorization from Mayo. They explained that once they had that, we could proceed with scheduling the test.I then phoned the nurse practitioner at Mayo to tell them what Baptist needed. She seemed very bothered by my call and told me to call medical billing to get it. This didnt make any sense, but I did. Mayo Medical Billing told me that the nurse was wrong and that she should be able to provide me with the authorization. Naturally, I phoned the nurse back to tell her and she said the medical billing department wasnt telling the truth and that there was nothing she could do to help me.I have never experienced anything quite like this from a medical facility and I have worked with a lot of them over many years. Needless to say, I will be looking for another doctor very soon so that I do not have to deal with this Gateway Primary Care office ever again.I wanted to update this review to state that an office manager at Mayo Primary Care did contact me (after several weeks of back and forth) and confirmed that they could not help me. She explained that Mayo will only cooperate with patients and their insurance if they use Mayo testing facilities. It is their policy. I have learned that this policy is exclusive to Mayo and other hospitals and doctors offices in the region will provide authorizations to other testing facilities to help their patients receive care. I am currently in the process of switching my healthcare providers to Baptist.

Pathetic!! YOU WILL GET BIG BILLS - BEWARE BEFORE YOU VISIT. My insurance has a 100% coverage for annual physical exam ... and it was a surprise that after your visit you receive a big bill - even if you clearly tell them do only the tests that are covered they wont take a responsibility, and then they fight back on this ridiculously! VERY BAD SERVICE AND HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE - no one has time to fight for the bills you get after visiting them. BTW just want to mention that I went to a different place last year and just paid $20 for copay - with same insurance and benefits.. I dont know why but I went to them this year and received a $300 dollar bill - isnt that crazy! it drives me NUTS!! so if you dont care about getting the bills feel free to visit them. I have been warned different colleagues at work about their service and attitude - I am now regretting I should have listened to them. I am in process of finding a new health care provider at this moment - WILL NOT BE GOING TO THEM

Nadene Reese was the rudest most disrespectful nurse/lab tech Ive ever met. In the short 5 minutes I spent with her, she made it obvious how much she either hated her job or people in general. Why someone would continue working in a job they so obviously hate is baffling. But how such a prestigious establishment such as Mayo hasnt noticed this is even more concerning.

Mayo clinic is seemly high tech and has abundant medical resources. The doctors at this location are hit or miss (Dr. Monnier, my former PCP, is a good guy). The clinics phone and office NPs are not so great. I called in one time to request an urgent prescription refill (spoke with an NP). She advised she would check with the doctor and get back to me (this was not a refill for acne medication or a painkiller. It was for an asthma inhaler, which Mayo had filled in the past). After never receiving a call back (I ended up going to a Carespot) I started getting calls from my pharmacy three days later telling me the script was filled. Now, this was not a case were the NP didnt want to fill the script and asked me to go to the ER- she just acted like I was inconveniencing her and apparently this was not a high priority for them. The other item I have an issue with is Mayos tendency, in general, to order MANY (this happened to me several times) expensive tests for the most minute of issues. Most of the time I would decline, but I did go in to see a specialist and have several tests done to confirm whether I had asthma or not. Several thousand dollars later (Mayos billing is ridiculous. They are the best and they charge you accordingly) I had a two minute visit with a specialist advising me that I had a sodium deficiency and needed to eat more salt. How much more salt? The doctor didnt know. Not that your sodium intake is a big deal or anything. I was just told to eat more. When? Just more. What kind? More. Very disappointing. Finally, if you have a billing issue or insurance doesnt cover something they are supposed to, expect to pay the bill. Mayo will not help you with those kinds of issues. I spend months fighting one of those tests with my insurance and Mayos response after they advised that single test was covered, and it turns out it was not, was Oops. Now pay up or off to collections you go.Mayo did provide me with one accommodation, in that I could make a small monthly payment while dealing with my insurance and they advised I would not be turned over to collections. After six months of fighting with my insurance, I gave up. I had made this monthly payment to Mayo EVERY month. I called Mayo to see if maybe they could give me a price break on the bill. The CSR or whatever they are called, who was perhaps one of the most unpleasant individuals I have ever spoken to, advised that not only would they not do anything about the bill, but that they had just turned my account over to collections.I paid the bill with collections off immediately and have learned a ten thousand dollar lesson- dont go to Mayo clinic unless you are dying from some rare form of cancer. I was actually warned by several others about these issues before becoming one of their patients and I didnt listen because its MAYO. I was wrong- Dont make my mistake.
