I live on the west side. The butcher shops close to me are closed on Mondays. This place is open. I did an online order & picked it up. I ordered steaks & chicken online. I walked around & bought a couple more things in the store. The meat was great! The service was nice & friendly. Ill be back for sure.

This wonderful butcher shop has a wonderful selection of everything youll need for your meat needs. Including very affordable raw dog food! Bruce and Justin were very helpful and happy to help us with everything we needed and were looking for.

Tillmans is absolutely amazing!!!!! Enough cannot be said about the quality of the meats, sauces, seasonings, and not the least of which, the incredible staff. Everyone who works here is polite, professional, knowledgeable, and helpful. The selection and quality of the meats is awesome. Personally I do not even bother going into this meat market if I am on a budget. In as little as 10 minutes I can spend anywhere from $200.00 to $400.00 and it is worth every single penny. I dont even bother looking at meats while in normal supermarkets any more. Nothing compares to what I get at Tillmans.

Bought chicken and produce. Cooked the chicken the next day and it tasted like rotten fish. All the produce also smelled of rotten fish. Had to throw it all away.Be aware they are giving away free food in exchange for five star ratings, so dont believe everything you read here.

I unfortunately took deer meat there and it was rancid when I got it back! I have been getting deer processed for the last 30 yrs and have never had meat given back that smells and not processed properly! I made the owner aware and he said they processed 6000 deer this past yr with no complaints...thats statistically impossible. The lies never stopped, he said he would give me 100 off next yr processing but I wanted actual edible food. He said he would give me beef and I agreed but he gave me meat 8 dollars more a pound so the 100dollard was less! I called after and an employee said it was 16.99, not 24.99He then proceeded 2 tell me I got premium meat even though I was just in there and saw no such price or anything resembling it! Please dont waste your money at this establishment because they only care about their wallets! I wish the old owners never sold...so disappointing! Now the owner is saying its baseless and I offered 2 bring the meat back and he said he couldnt resale it obviously!!!! Then proceeded 2 tell me I received 120 dollars worth of meat when I will gladly post the total price for everyone 2 see not even adding up to 100 per there prices on the meat!!! They dont deserve our local business... he over charged on the make up for ruining the animals I harvested and the is a shame....he has to answer to God for his lies not me...if anyone is a con it would be him..he doesnt care about our community.

We love Tillmans! My wife and I have been going to Tillmans for years. Our dogs are on a raw meat diet and they grind us up 30 lbs a month. Loved the fresh turkeys we picked up to smoke for Thanksgiving. Tomorrow Im grilling Alligator meat that I picked up from there.

Loving Tillmans! My 4th attempt as a successful beef brisket. Went to Tillmans, as I was determined for this to be my epic win with that ever so non-forgiving cut of meat.Gio is the man! He explained, in detail, how to perfectly smoke a Brisket. I tossed all of my Googled notes and followed his to a tee. Here is Gios instructions (adapted to a Big Green Egg). Gio cut and trimmed the Brisket. Tillmans offers a packers cut, only two of us at home, so I opted for a good flat.Seasoned with some dry rub. Then injected with two cups of Tillmans Magic Marinade. Dont be shy with this stuff... its awesome! Rubbed more dry rub on.Set up lump coal in cleaned Egg. Steady temp of 200F. Put in large Hickory chunks (no need to soak them). Put in plate setter, legs up, and a drip plan with hot water, then grate on top.Put that beautiful hunk of meat on - 200F for 10 hours. Used a Digi-Q to maintain temp. Then off to sleep.Next morning,Placed tin foil loosely over Brisket. Raised dome temp to 275F, and let the BGE do its thing for 3 hours. Removed Brisket, wrapped in tin foil then towels. Placed in cooler for an hour and a half... and...VOILA!!!Thank you Gio!

Delicious fresh steaks. We come here every time we have a party as they have great deals on fresh and frozen beef. Bruce even helped me out and held 10 lbs of ground beef for me to pick up when they typically don’t do that. Looking forward to coming again!

Terrible!!! Had to throw away more than half the meat package bec the meat was ROTTEN. I CALLED TO GET IT CORRECTED AND MY CALL WAS NEVER RETURNED. I USED TO LOVE THIS PLACE. NIW U COULDNT PAY ME TO SHOP HERE......Update: Manager Was trying to call me 🤦 had the wrong number. Super amazing guy. Replaced everything no questions asked. Everyone at the stire was amazing at fixing the problem. My apologies to everyone for my super hangry karen moment

Bought a freezer pack. They were out of whole chickens. So they gave me chicken breasts instead. They went from the store to freezer. 2 weeks later. I thawed the chicken and it smelled so foul. It was definitely spoiled. Had to throw it away. Not impressed with the amount of money I spent. About $140. Will never go back.

They have a solid history in Jacksonville for many years of great selections of meat and poultry as well as those items they prepare themselves. If you havent visited them before be sure you do soon. You will not regret it.

I drove over an hour to visit the store in search of exotic, wild meats for a paleo diet. The staff was amazingly helpful, friendly and eager to share their products. Quite knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I picked up pheasant, rabbit and venison sausage! We cant wait to try more of your delicacies!

We order our Thanksgiving turkey from Tillmans every year, and every year it is absolutely delicious. Their meats are cut to perfection, and ribs have a nickname of brontosaurus ribs in our house since they are SO huge and juicy! Dont forget to pick up some of their home made rubs while in the store too. HIGHLY recommend!!!!

My husband and I love to shop at Tillmans! We enjoy the bacon and brisket just about every week. The smoked turkey breast is also delicious. The staff is well trained and friendly. They always take good care of us!

I go out of my way to shop at Tillmans. The owner, Richard, bends over backwards for his customers. The meat is fantastic as well.The first time I ever came here, I asked for grass finished beef. They didnt carry it at the time. Richard approached me and asked me why. We had a talk about why I choose to eat grass finished. WITHIN A WEEK, Richard had a freezer full of grass finished beef.That kind of customer service cant go unnoticed. I will always go out of my way to support him just as he supported me.

The meats and products at Tillmans are awesome! We shop there every week to get the freshest cuts and smoked meats. The smoked brisket is addictive, the fresh sausages are flavorful, and the bacon is so thick that there is only 10 slices per pound. Try the freshly smoked turkey (especially when its still hot for a real treat. BTW, the sausages come in a variety of heat ranges (I love the jalapeno/cheese sausages and snack sticks, my wife likes the mild). Also try the exotic meats; the rabbit is great to smoke at home! They also sell prepared stuffed baked potatos, potato salad, baked beans and their own line of bottled sauces that are all good to complete your meals.

A small town atmosphere meat market with great meat and home style side dishes. They have a amazing selection of meats and home made sauces. The steaks are unbelievable! Their whole chickens are excellent oven roasted, with beautiful juicy white breast meat. Pork chops cannot be beat. Theyre the best I have ever had. Im going on 64. This store is priceless!

Friendly and prompt service. I remember one night I was there buying some round steak the butcher asked what I was going to do with it and I explained making beef and broccoli he then immediately asked if I would like him to slice it for me. I thought that was great, and exceptional customer service.

Tillmans has a very friendly and knowledgeable staff which helped me get started when I was making my own home sausages. I like the fact that I can go there and buy pork fat or beef fat which I can’t do it my local grocery stores. Unfortunately, we still live in a world where people treat you according to your race. . I have experience poor customer service from a worker at this facility more than I should have for a paying customer. On my last visit I was treated with disrespect after I was told by a worker that I was not allowed to pick out my meat. He wrapped the meat he wanted to give me. I’ve talked to others that have experience this treatment as well.

Tillmans has a really great selection of meats. Very high quality and great service. I got some bone in pork chops, put them on the grill on a weekday, and they were unbelievable. Juicy and great char.

Tillman’s is the best butcher shop that I have seen in years. The place is warm and friendly and the staff is equally so. Everyone is welcoming, helpful and ready to serve you. The cuts of meat are beautiful and flavorful, the pulled pork is amazing, and I love their chorizo sausage! I am going back to try more kinds. And the freshly baked items look and smell wonderful, and I am certainly going to try them next visit. The store also boasts a complement of condiments to complete your meal. Tillmans is a great place for the discerning palate!My late husband was in the meat business and he would have highly recommended Tillman’s— as I do!

Love Tillman’s! Most knowledgeable and expansive butcher in the city. It’s the only place I’ve found where I can get sausage casings for making sausage. They are a true gem!

Jacksonville staple! Ive been a patron the 20 years Ive lived in Jax. Special orders, no problem, twice baked potatoes are great, any prepared items Ive tried have been delicious. Their mustard based bbq sauce is my fave. Many specialty/exotic meats but Im not that adventurous! Must try! You wont be disappointed!

I have been going to Tillmans meat since 2017. The manager is super super nice, has always been sweet and helpful with whatever I ask or may need. They have such great deals and even during this time in the pandemic, they still have really great prices for their meat. I have been a loyal customer since 2017 and during a time in my need when I lost my job, the manager was willing to hire me on the spot. This is a place that families and people can trust. Their meat is 110% amazing, they are clean and they take pride in what they sell. If there is any issues with the meat, (never had one issue) they will exchange you the same piece you bought without any questions asked. The employees have knowledge of the meat that is sold and the seasons that are sold there as well. The Deserts are to die for. Not sure why someone would come on here and bash this place because THEIR FRIEND didnt have a good experience. If you friend had a terrible experience she should have gone up there and talk to them, and they could have fixed it for him/her and they probably would have helped you out and gave you a discount on something on your next purchase. Tillmans is a place that values their customers and takes pride in what they sell, there are other butcher shops in Jacksonville, but nothing like what Tillmans can offer.

Best melt in your mouth smoked turkey breast EVER❣️ Best pound cake EVER and I could taste the butter, OMG❣️And Ive NEVER had a pork jalapeno jerky stick but its gotta be the best EVER as well❣️ That leaves the twice baked potatoes, the smoked brisket and the mild Italian sausage to try another day. Lovely experience today❣️ I feel like Ive been on vacation to blue Ridge, Ga❣️

We have used Tillmans for years and it has always provided the best meats and even the sides have been amazing. People still talk about the Apple Pies from there. Lastly the family packs are a dream when you are trying to figure out dinner!

A hidden gem! Checked this store out yesterday and its awesome! Bought 8 ribeyes and we also got the chicken deal (picture included) and the family loved everything. Well be shopping there from now on. To the owners - please open up a store in St. Augustine! This is the best butcher store I have seen.

I purchased a bundle of meats, received it and put it in the freezer at home immediately. I discovered that after thawing the leg quarters they were spoiled ( extreme odor and discolored approximately 2 weeks after purchasing ), I called the shop and informed them. They offered to exchange it but I had thrown away the meat already and I was just letting them know so they could check on the batch and another customer wouldnt experience the same thing. After thawing my sirloin I discovered it was just like the chicken. The meat was rotten prior to freezing at the shop. I dont think Ill give them my business anymore since I literally just threw away money on spoiled meat.
