Prairie Eye & LASIK Center in Jacksonville, IL seems to have made some drastic changes in operations, and NOT for the better. My visit was in June, 2020. While masks were mandatory, the examination room I entered was visibly dirty. It had obviously not been sanitized after the last patient. I mentioned it to the person performing parts of my eye exam. She wiped things down. She was nice, but seemed frustrated. I came to Prairie Eye because I was having blurred vision in my left eye. Dr. William Yang examined me and said I needed cataract surgery without offering a lot of information with regard to my particular vision problems. He was nice enough, but I left feeling like Prairie Eye & LASIK Center Is more concerned with their bottom line (patient in; patient out). I realize that is the case with all healthcare these days, but I felt very little personal connection. I’m comparing this to a visit I had about 3 years ago at the same place by a young, female clinician who was extremely helpful with explaining exactly what was happening with my eyes, the tiny cataracts that were developing, etc. Dr. Yang, on the other hand, would not commit to telling me much at all. I did not make appointment for surgery because I felt I’ll at ease. That’s not to say I may decide to have surgery with them in the future. Prefer to have a second opinion.

Can’t get a glasses prescription if my life depended on it! I was there a month ago and Computers were down! still can’t get my script mailed to me!

Doctor was rude and full of himself and wouldn’t listen to any of my concerns. Office staff was nice.
