Ive been searching ever so long for a transfer switch solution to run my portable generator in preparation for hurricane season. Unable to acquire generlink and Ez-connect  products due to supply issues. I was recommended a similar and affordable solution. Triston and Daniel were phenomenal in their installation. True professional and great electrician. Was carefully explained in detail how to use the interlock switch. They even took the time to satisfy and curiosity teaching me about electricity and what goes on inside a electrical panel. Awesome!!Highly Recommend!!💯

I had a 220V power line run from the panel in the garage to a disconnect on the side of the house and then a few days later to a hot tub in a covered porch( the hot tub wasnt delivered yet). I used this company for the amount of quality reviews and the estimated cost. Overall the job was in line with the cost. The whole staff was friendly and on time. The two workers who came out to actually hook up the hot tub stayed over time to get the job done. Thanks for that. They had to have someone from the shop deliver the appropriate materials. The reason for the 3 stars is for some of the quality issues I have. The first issue is with the caulking around the conduit coming out of the soffit. Not very good. Then they did not caulk around the conduit going through the porch wall. The first crew was trying to put the disconnect in the porch area. Thankfully that was resolved and put outside. They also didnt seem concerned about all the dirt they were tracking inside the porch area even though I had put out old sheets for them to walk on. This is a minor concern but the porch floor was recently painted. The second crew had a helper who scuffed the floor up pretty good with his boots as he struggled to replace the hot tub panels. He installed them incorrectly and I pointed that out and that it was affecting the proper installation of the front panel and corner pieces. This led to more frustration so I told them that I would finish that part of the job because it was starting to get late. They also ran the power cable through the panel on the tub when I asked them to run it through the pan per the hot tub instructions. I was told that was not possible when in fact it was. I am satisfied with the job and might use them again. My experience with this company definitely doesnt reflect the number of 5 star reviews posted here but that of an average job.Edit on 4Feb21. After posting this review I was contacted by the service manager to fix the repairs on this job including a new panel on the hot tub. The willingness to fix the mistake at such a big expense without me contacting them shows the commitment this company is prepared to make in correcting an average job. Thats the reason for raising the review from 3 stars to 4 stars. I will update this again when the panel is received and the repairs are final.Final edit on 12Mar2021. The final repair was just completed. True to their word a new panel was installed and rewired through the pan. Clean, professional, and accommodating. Thanks to the crew who made this right.

Our main circuit breaker for our home went out at about 11pm on a Friday night, it would not reset and we were totally without power. Knowing we were heading into the weekend and it might be difficult to get an electrician here quickly, I started dialing every electrician listed in our area that advertised they were available 24/7. American Electrical Contracting was the ONLY company that answered the phone and got me scheduled immediately...no leaving a message and not being sure if you would ever hear back like the other guys. American Electrical kept me on the line, contacted the on call electrician and had me scheduled for asap. Troy Howell, the on call electrician, called my cell phone a few minutes later and said he was on his way. He arrived in about 30 minutes, replaced the main breaker and checked over a few other items. All power now restored without a lot of wait and worry. The other guys say they are always on call but its really true with American Electrical. Troy was incredibly responsive, professional and friendly. He got everything fixed quickly. Our family appreciates your exceptional service.

Caleb, our technician, came out to do the yearly maintenance service on our whole house generator. He was professional and very efficient changing the oil, filters and spark plugs so that the system will be like new for the hurricane system. We really appreciated his attention to detail.

The two guys that came out to update our cloth wiring were amazing. They worked nonstop the entire time and were amazing accommodating our two dogs. Exceptional from start to finish. We made an appointment a week ahead, and they showed up on time on the agreed date and time. They were already ahead of many contractors at this point.Kyle O and his helper Jesse H were both professional, careful in my home, and exceptionally talented with the work they did.They installed three ceiling fans in a newly installed roof over my back porch. This was a more involved than I thought it would be, as they had to access my crawl-space attic to make and then verify connections, repurpose a switch that was not in use, move lights that needed to be move, and more.Toward the end I asked where the boxes from the fans were, and Kyle said he was going to ask to make sure, but that he had already loaded them on the truck to haul them away. I was very pleased.It took about as long as they said it would take, and it cost about what they said it would cost.I even through a couple of curve balls and asked them to do a little extra work. They charged me for it, of course, but the did what I asked and did a great job.I highly recommend Kyle and Jesse and American Electrical. I will definitely be calling them for my electrical needs in the future.

Superb service maintaining old generator and installing new larger one. Ethan did an excellent job maintaining the old unit. Aaron provided us with a very competitive quote for the new 22Kw generator and installation followed soon thereafter. Dwayne and his crew got the installation done in one day very expertly. We had a lightning struck that fried some electrical outlets among other things. Dorian Immell was our tech, and already being on the job for 12 hours and an unscheduled emergency call, kept us informed of his arrival time. Chris and Brock came to my house to install a Tesla electrical charger and they were FANTASTIC. Extremely professional and very friendly! I couldnt be more pleased with the results of the jobs performed at my home. I called American electric on a Friday after calling another company, who said they were booked out 2 weeks. When I called American they said they were booked out for more than 2 weeks. I explained that I was concerned (afraid) about my light fixture and after speaking to a supervisor, was told they would send someone on Tuesday. Sure enough, Tuesday came, and so did Daniel and Ricky. They were pleasant, respectful and considerate. We have the original fixtures from the late 1940s. These guys are awesome! We had an emergency come up because of a pool contractor that didn’t do their job. These guys came out immediately and fixed the issue for us. They even installed an extra outlet for us at no charge. And their pricing was great as well. I cannot recommend them enough. These guys really care, which is rare in today’s world.

Caleb and Randy performed annual service on my 20 Kw generator this week. They did and excellent job.

Misstep all the way. I have used this company many times over the years but never experienced what I did this time. I was very clear of what I needed and it was not delivered. I received a call from the SERVICE MANAGER that in the first part of the conversation was ok then he became very condescending. I still do not have what I ask for or paid for. Was looking to have them install a whole home generator in the near future but now I am hesitant. I didnt want and apology or a refund, just what I told them I needed from the beginning.

Update 4/9/21: After talking with Ken V. (Supervisor) last week, was able to get the job finished. Great service completed by Kyle O. and Robert F.BE WARNED. Non-responsive and unprofessional. I am still in disbelief because I’d used them several years ago and had a good experience. This time around, not good at all. Started a job for me, everything was fine. Turns out they couldn’t finish on same day because didn’t have right supplies and too late to go back to warehouse. Was to follow up with me to finish. They never did. After a couple of weeks when I didn’t hear anything, I called and left a message on the after hours system. Still never received a response. After another week, I called again and actually talked with someone who sent me to the manager/supervisor voicemail. Haven’t heard anything, and frankly at this point I will just hire someone else to finish. Bad business. Not sure if there are internal changes there or what, but definitely not what I expected from them.

I would like to commend Mike Shmuckle for being an a amazing project manager an running a professional team. The work quality was top notch, the team work quickly and efficiently while showing the deepest respect to our residents. I have used this company on two occasions..both times the Techs arrived as scheduled and did their work in a very professional manner. On the first visit one of the techs fell through the ceiling in the garage destroying a panel of drywall. Fortunately he wasnt injured. They immediately called their office and reported the incident and I was told by the techs that I would hear from someone to come out and repair the damaged ceiling.Ive yet to hear from anyone from American unless I call. And Ive called approximately 7 times and each time they assure me that Ill hear from a drywall company to fix it..The same techs showed up on the second occasion to do another install(5 weeks later) and were very embarrassed that the ceiling wasnt fixed as of yet! Its now been 6 weeks since this happened and Im still waiting on a phone call to get my ceiling fixed..American is very good at what they do(electrical work) but not very good at taking care of a problem that they cause!

I used American Electrical Contracting for installing a new Generac standby home generator system for my home. The experience was 5-Star from start to finish. Beginning with Michael in sales to Veronica in the office, the 4 install technicians, and finally to Ethan on the final start-up phase! My wife and I could not be happier. Every person was very professional and explained every detail within the process. They were all super knowledgeable, friendly and extremely skilled. We could not be happier with the installation and the continued service we will receive with our new generator system. We reviewed numerous customer reviews on the many companies in Jacksonville that offer a whole home generator system, and American Electrical had the most consistently high ratings than any other company and I now I see why... they are simple the BEST!

Great expertise, attention to detail, and customer serviceKudos to Lynnell and and Kaleb, who went above and beyond the call of duty in helping us earlier this week with the electrical requirements for a new treadmill. They are extremely knowledgeable and customer-friendly.The electrical requirements for the treadmill were not clear from the treadmill company’s website or user manual. Lynnell took it upon himself to do Internet research, call the treadmill company support line (no answer), and do further research. He and Kaleb spent time exploring the possibility of installing a dedicated electrical circuit for the treadmill but recommended that we not try that route given the configuration of our house and limited attic access.Lynnell and Kaleb also helped us with a number of electrical repairs, including installing several LED canister lights, reseating a number of existing cannisters that had become dislodged due to hammering from construction upstairs, and replacing some problematic electrical outlets. They noticed that the color of the existing outlets is almond rather than white and took the time to have the correct color parts delivered while they were at our house.When we arranged for a service call, we were upset to learn that the company electrician we always asked for in the past has taken a new job. Thanks goodness for Lynnell, who has been with the company for 10 years, and Kaleb!! They are our new go-to electricians.

Mike and Joe were on-time, professional, and thorough in their evaluation of our electrical needs, and they also offered helpful advice on future work that we could complete ourselves, and without their service. I was very pleased with the quality of their work and would definitely call on American Electrical Contracting again should the need arise.

American Electrical Contracting is, in one word, terrific. Jay did the start up on my generator and was very knowledgeable and explained everything. He called prior to his arrival to let me know when he was near. Zach, Cody, and Skyler did the installation and were excellent as well; super efficient, on time, polite, and cleaned up after all the work. Veronica in the office is outstanding; always calling back promptly if she was busy when I called. Mike came out for the initial estimate and was superb as well. Everyone I encountered and/or worked with was top notch at American Electrical Contracting and I would highly recommend them.

Scott and Noah came out that same day to figure out why my residential well pump wasnt running and why I didnt have any running water in my home. Both Scott and Noah were professional, friendly and did an outstanding job. They installed a new outlet, running it through the attic, for my water softener system that wasnt working. They also repaired and installed a new outlet for my well because it was fried. When they were done, they thoroughly explained the repairs they did and why. They fixed all the electrical issues with my well pump and my water softener system. Thanks to Scott and Noah, I have running water in my home again. Thank you guys!
