I cant say enough about the incredible care and professionalism I experienced here. On my very first visit, my wife remarked to the doctor how efficient and friendly everyone had been. He responded that they had fired their way to happiness.By far their most incredible asset is Ava, the receptionist. Every morning, for 5 weeks, she never failed to have a huge smile and and start a friendly conversation. Twice I showed-up with my granddaughter Madison, and Ava and Angel took time from their busy schedule to watch and entertain her, to the point that Madison now wants to go back and visit.Once, when the equipment broke down, the staff just took it in stride and knew exactly what to do to reschedule us patients and make-up the treatment time. It was apparent that everyone was well trained and cared about their patients and their workplace.This same spirit of excellence carried through to today, my last radiation treatment. I wish all doctor offices functioned as competently as Dr Terks.Thank you guys for everything youve done!!

I just completed the 9-week program of radiation treatment for prostate cancer today, April 12, 2019. The doctors, therapists, and all staff personnel were courteous, professional, and most welcoming. I felt part of a family in my care and relationships there. I enjoyed chatting with other patients while waiting for my own appointment, too... a most enjoyable experience and completely pain free for me. I cannot recommend Terk Oncology highly enough... certainly 5 stars!

Everyone cooperates here; the front office, Ava and Stewart, the radiation techs, Kara, Holly, Melanie, Erin, Angel, Jerome, Jason, David and Lindsey. And even the doctors just sort of hover in the background appearing only as needed. As a patient, you get to select the music in the treatment room. I went mostly with heavy metal from the 70s on the basis that rock and roll and gamma rays work together. Oh, did I mention that my PSA went to 1.1 from 7.5 after treatment?

The whole staff were fantastic through my 45 treatments. They all treated me like a person whom they cared about, not just another number. Loud shout outs to the tech staff: David, Angel, Jerome, Holly, Kara, Lindsey, and Jason (the ones I saw). And 99% of the time I was greeted by smiling Katie as I signed in each evening.

Thank you Dr. Terk and Special thanks to Lindsey, David, Jason, Jerome, Angel, Melanie, Erin, Holly and Kara. The process is pretty straight forward! Just show up on your scheduled appointment every day for 10 minutes and its done!They are very accurate on keeping appointments on time. Never did I have to wait too long. I had a nine week, five days a week radiation program. Everyone at the center, from front office to the therapy staff were friendly and helpful at all times. In person or on the phone, I never felt like I was just another patient. When you treat as many people as they do at one time, I believe that’s the highest compliment.

The doctors are great here and really know their stuff. The everyday radiation treatments are done by the techs. They are the absolute best! They are extremely professional, supportive and treat everyone with the utmost friendliness and courtesy.

Everyone in the organization I dealt with was caring, professional, competent and extremely helpful in providing the treatments for my prostate cancer. Dr. Terk explained the treatment options and helped me decide on an effective treatment plan customized for me. I experienced minimal side effects during my treatments and didnt miss any family, educational or outside activities during my 3 months of treatment.Ava immediately puts you at ease when you enter the facility. Jean was always available to answer any questions I had. The radiation therapists, Lindsey, Angel, Jerome, Kara, Erin, Jason, David and Holly, were all terrific.Who ever would have thought, that when I was done with my treatments, I would be disappointed that my daily interactions with all of them had come to an end.

If you are reading reviews related to Terk Oncology, you probably suspect you may have prostate cancer or have had it confirmed.Either is scary.I was diagnosed with early stage prostate cancer by my urologist in late 2018 and spent a considerable amount of time researching various options.My urologist immediately suggested surgery and wanted to schedule it immediately. If this seems familiar to you, I strongly suggest you talk to people that have had this type of surgery.Numerous posts on this website outline in detail the process to include what to expect from treatments. I can attest that the level of service was exceptional from the time I had my initial consultation to my final treatment. Their professionalism is unmatched in what is a very personal process. Most of the interaction is with the treatment staff which exhibited tremendous compassion. Once a week you will be required to meet with a doctor. Both Dr. Terk and Dr. Cesaretti have a great bedside manner and these visits were uneventful.In summary, I would strongly suggest you not rush into any treatment option until you have done your research. Should you elect a non-surgical approach, I highly recommend this practice.

This center for prostate cancer was outstanding including the front office people to the technicians and the physicians. They were all very professional, knowledgeable, precise in the procedures, and patient oriented. This rx was extended to patients family members as well . Although my the circumstances that brought me to this center was not the most delightful, my experience was outstanding and over and above what one would expect. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Terk Oncology Center to anyone.

I learned that I had prostate cancer in October of 2017 following a biopsy done by my Urologist. It was not progressive, so we spent the the first year just watching. In October of 2018, it had progressed a little, so my Urologist referred me to Terk. Before the first visit, I had done some research and had decided the treatment I would choose. After meeting with Dr. Terk, I was please to find out that I didnt need the advanced treatment that I had chosen, and would simply need external radiation. During the 9 weeks of radiation, I was treated with the utmost respect and given the greatest care anyone could want. From the pleasant greeting each morning from Ava, through the actual treatment administered by the professional staff I could not have been treated better. This is the place to go if you have prostate cancer!

Recently I was a patient at The Terk’s Oncology Center who went through radiation seed implants and five weeks of radiation treatments for my prostate cancer. The entire process of being told that you have prostate cancer through the months of testing and treatments is a very scary, often uncomfortable ordeal. The doctors, clinical staff and the radiation technicians at Terk’s made the journey a very pleasant one. From the first day I walked into the center to the last day of radiation treatments, the entire staff was always professional, polite, courteous and friendly. They really showed that they “cared” for all the men going through this difficult, personal process. Always a friendly greeting and smile from everyone you encounteredn in the building. I once asked the doctor if he gave his staff “friendly pills” since I never encountered anyone with a frown on their face or in a sour mood during any of my visits. The staff at Terk’s Oncology certainly gets my sincere thanks for making my visits at the center truly bearable, enjoyable, stress free appointments. I will miss seeing all the people since I now consider them friends but will never think of a “balloon” in quite the same way as I once did. Thanks Again for all the friendly, caring personal support you provided me during my cancer treatments. You are all a fantastic team of professionals whom made my prostate cancer ordeal extremely doable.

First let me say that the only reason that I’m giving Terk Oncology five stars, is because I can’t give them ten. The professionalism of the entire team, and the quality of care from the front of the house to the back is top notch and second to none. If they gave out awards for Radiation Therapists and staff the way they do for doctors, you wouldn’t be able to see the walls in the entire place. Doctors Terk and Cesaretti have put together an amazing team that they can be extremely proud of.Now, I’m not going to go too deep into the weeds as to my own story, as it’s pretty much the same as others. I went with the VMAT process. I had minimal side effects, had my treatments in the morning, and went to work second shift every day during treatment. But I will tell you a few things about the treatment process that I feel you need to know up front if you’re going to get your care from Terk Oncology. Which I highly recommend you do.If you need to get the Depot shot prior to treatment, do it ASAP. You have to wait six weeks for the Depot shot to shut down your testosterone which is feeding the cancer, before you can have your CT and MRI scans. If you’re doing the VMAT or IGRT treatment, make an appointment with your Urologist to have the Fiducial markers put in during this six-week period if you can. After the CT and MRI scans, it takes two weeks for the team to put your treatment schedule together before you start your treatments. The treatment is a forty-eight-day process. Forty-five-days of treatments, and three days of what I call picture days. So, where a nice shirt and comb your hair. The daily treatment process is painless, and only takes ten minutes. There is however one part that is a bit uncomfortable, (The balloon). But suck it up butter cup. Your fighting cancer. Put your big boy pants on and deal with it. These people are saving your life. The entire team and your prostate cancer brothers are there for your support.So, as I stated above. I can’t recommend Terk Oncology high enough, and I sincerely hope that you will choose them for your prostate cancer treatment. Doctors Terk and Cesaretti are the best in the nation, and the rest of the team is right up there with them. Now go out there and kick prostate cancer’s butt. And welcome to the brotherhood of prostate cancer survivors.

Hi, I’m Jerry Potson, and this was my last day of treatment at Terk Oncology. The first day I walked into the facility I was greeted with “Welcome to the Family” and the atmosphere felt that way every time I walked in. Dr. Terk and Dr. Cesaretti are fantastic and I know why they are rated #1 in the country. I saw them regularly and they both were encouraging and answered all my questions. But what also makes the facility so special are the nurses, technicians, and that lively office staff. Oh, and I can’t forget the snacks and the beautiful flowers. No one wants to hear the word “cancer” but I’m so glad I was referred to the Terk Oncology, rated #1 in the country.

After a diagnosis of prostate cancer, my urologist referred me to Terk Oncology for treatment. For most of us, a cancer diagnosis can be a frightening experience. However, the caring doctors, nurses, operational personnel, and administrative staff all are focused on making the necessary procedures as comfortable as possible for each patient. Every day, upon arrival at the facility check-in desk I was pleasantly greeted by name. And, unlike most medical facilities where parking is a challenge and excessively long waits are the norm, the parking is available just steps from the front door and the Terk team is punctual and stays as close as possible to your scheduled time.In my case, the short, daily treatment procedure with the VMAT equipment was administered by the operational staff with care for my comfort. And, at the end of the daily treatment, I reentered the reception room where a refrigerator full of soft drinks and several trays of snack treats were waiting.If your doctor identifies prostate cancer and recommends Terk Oncology for treatment, please know that I recommend the Terk team and their procedures highly and without reservation.

A diagnosis of prostate cancer even with all the information about treatments and specialists and facilities given to you at the time of confirmation of prostate cancer is a life changing moment especially when you get to digest the info and come to the realization that you are the patient that all this discussion revolves around. Fortunately we in the north east Florida area have available to us a modern state of the art facility directed by two radiation oncologists both of whom are world class leaders in the treatment of prostate cancer, Dr. Mitchell Terk and Dr. Jamie Cesaretti. Their stand alone office and radiation center is conveniently situated in Jacksonville Florida and offers ample parking, a great reception staff that acknowledges and welcomes you each day of your treatments, and a professional knowledgeable caring staff of Radiation Therapists that you will get to know and appreciate over the duration of your treatments.The Radiation Oncologists along with the Medical Physicists and Dosemitrists do all the calculations to set your radiation fractions and length of actual exposure based on the stage of your cancer and results of CT scans and MRI reports, but the people you will get to know and do all the daily hands on work are the Radiation Therapists. These people take excellent care of you by answering all the questions you have, by explaining what the Linear Accelerator does,by informing you of any and all tasks they perform preparing you for your daily radiation and the process of completing their portion of finishing the formal section of your radiation dose and allowing you the privacy to tend to your task of finishing up what needs to be done. If I could I would give the Therapists 10 gold stars for the manner in which they treat you with respect and sincerity and the way they maintain your dignity with the discretion and privacy that they always work diligently to quietly and efficiently present to you.In summary, to Terk Oncology I suggest 5 Gold Stars for all they did for myself and my wife in alleviating all our apprehensions and unknowns in our walk from diagnosis to completion of the 9 weeks radiation, along which we have been introduced to a staff of exceptional personnel who have allowed us to become not just patients but members of their team, all of us working towards the goal of giving back to me the precious gift of good health.Sincerly, John and Judy Haley

My time line began in Jan. 2018 with discovery and biopsy’s, from Dr. Douglas Swartz, McKiver clinic. Then sent over to Terk oncology for the VMAT treatments. Completed treatment on Sept. 29, 2018.Both Dr. Swartz and Dr.Terk represent the Leading Technology available on the First Coast.
