If I could rate this hospital with negative numbers it would still be too generous. I have never seen such disregard to sick people who come to the ER for care. Instead of having children separate from adults to ensure no exposure to illness and adult situations that have occurred here in the three hours waiting to have a infant checked. There is no urgency to get people out due to Covid and no urgency to have them checked although it is obvious some people need immediate assistance. This area (Jackson) needs another hospital system in the area, its a shame that this is the only option.

I think my last review was taken down. So I’ll say it louder for the people in back. This place is a joke. Everyone has excuses for being short staffed etc, but the way patients are treated in emergency care is a joke. 2 experiences in the last year. Both horrid and not just because of Covid. Long wait times, snotty staff and horrid care. Calling yourselves medical professionals is a stretch.

Just not good. Care is horrible, have had like 2 nurses who are nice. They discriminate so much based on who you are rather than what is wrong. They lack care and empathy for those going through very scary moments.

Please avoid at all costs. Go the extra distance to find another hospital/emergency room. Putting aside the fact that the nurses are extremely rude and condescending, the doctors were negligent in treating my hypoglycemia. I am a type one diabetic with complications that often make my glucose levels crash all of a sudden, due to fluctuating insulin sensitivity. After being treated at the emergency room I ended up worse than when I entered, fearing for my life. The doctor tried giving me insulin when I was explaining that I had been crashing several hours prior. When I refused to take insulin they asked me to leave the emergency room. My glucose levels were temporarily elevated because I had drank a lot of sugar before coming to the emergency room (in fear of passing out). However, after I was asked to leave the ER, my glucose levels continued to crash again. As I walked away from the hospital I got dizzy, fell, and severely injured myself. I ended up calling another ambulance to take me to another hospital. I could have died. It is clear from the reviews that I am not the only one who has had terrible experiences here. The doctors and nurses are either undertrained or inexperienced. I do not usually write reviews but I am writing this in the hopes of possibly saving someone’s life. I am in the process of pressing charges against the doctors and nurses who treated me and for that reason I will not disclose my name publicly until the case is in motion (I made this email specifically to warn others about this emergency room).

Only thing I can say is at least my friend’s ok and that in the end is what matters. The first nurse was lovely but every single staff we spoke to after was condescending and rude. Was told my friend was being put out for several hours to be monitored and told to go home, then got a call about an hour later saying she’s ready to go and if we don’t pick her up she’ll be put to wait in the lobby. They rolled her out in a wheelchair barely conscious and put her in the backseat with no discharge or care instructions for us. She was unable to lift her own head or speak full coherent sentences. Then was told on the phone when I called to ask why she was released that “she just needs to be taken care of”. If you have another option go somewhere else.

I have always loved this ER this last trip was the same as always. If you actually have a real life threatening problem you get right in if you go with boo boo toe and are expecting to be seen right away you will be disappointed because this is an ER not a clinic

Overall the nurses and doctors were very nice and helpful. However, I took my son who is about to turn 2 in twice this week. He has a consistent fever and they told me to take him back if it persisted after two days. At our last visit we saw the doctors and nurses and proceeded to wait about an hour for the covid/flu test. The nurse, I believe nurse Gabe came in with another nurse and opened the swabs. The sample is taken from his nostrils. She put the swabs into one nostril and mentioned how the swabs seemed thick and proceeded to put one in each nostril. About 10 minutes after we left I get a phone call that the nurse used strep throat swabs instead of covid/flu swabs in my sons nose, that I could go back so they could repeat the exam. Although this nurse was nice and apologized my heart was broken. An apology is not sufficient. My son has been feeling terrible for three days and I’m just trying to get down to the root of the problem and this nurse mistakenly grabbed the wrong swab because the packaging is similar!?!? I don’t think so. He is a baby, she needs to make sure she double checks what she is grabbing. And I even asked if the swab was for covid and flu and she said yes!! I’m mind blown. The hospital might need to remind their staff to double check before they start passing out the wrong items or maybe train them a bit more. So if you’re planning on going to the ER make sure you have them read aloud what swab they are putting up your nose.

Awful place. Staff is incredibly rude and just wants to give you tons of medication. Doctors do not listen. Find somewhere else to go.

I have had the misfortune to have been a patient in the ER twice in 2018, but the fortune to have been in the Henry Ford Allegiance Jackson Hospital ER both times. I have been impressed and comforted by their professionalism, attention to detail, level of emergency medical expertise, and caring attitude - the doctors and nurses, and support staff. Being in ER is usually a stressful experience for patients as well as family and friends of the patients. This ER team, for me, has made the experiences as stress free and comfortable as possible. The ER is modern, clean,, and is setup in a way to give maximum privacy. I had a choice in which ER in my area to be transported to, but after the first experience in the Henry Ford ER in Jackson, I would not choose a different hospital if given the choice.

The cosmetic changes to the hospital are great, but the care is very hit or miss. You definitely have to make sure what every test is and the results, what medicine they are giving you, etc... Ive never had that problem at other hospitals.

In the past, I would have given a zero star review but last night was better than I could have hoped for. Service was extremely prompt, all the staff were very friendly and caring and I was checked on several times while I was there. Within the first half hour I had been registered, triaged, seen a doctor, got an xray, some pain medicine and crutches. This morning I realised I needed a wheel chair for my broken leg and I called there and they helped me arrange it. I hope this isnt a fluke and that the is the new amd improved HFA! Thanks to everyone that helped me.
