I would give this zero stars if I could. What a bunch of dopes. I showed up for a 8 am Saturday appointment to have a diabetic eye exam. Even though they had my insurance information in advance they told me they couldnt confirm my coverage. They said that I needed to pay $189 up front in order to have my exam. Ive been wearing glasses for 40 years and never encountered such B... S...!I know companies sales have been impacted by the pandemic. It seems to me that customer service and support is out the window and the goal is to squeeze every penny out of each and every customer. No excuse for incompetence or trying to support the consumer.If you go here make sure they tell you upfront what the cost will be. I feel they should be paying me for the Saturday morning that I waisted because they are again... Dopes.

I went in to get a spare pair of glasses and was treated as a valued person. Danyelle was concerned about how my glasses were fitting and wanted to adjust them until she was satisfied with them. She showed me some of the most popular and current frames under $80 and then applied discounts for which I qualified. I will always come back for my frames and the service to RxOptical! I’ll also tell everyone I know about them! Keep up the great service!

I came in for a spare pair of glasses to hold me over until my insurance would let me get a new pair. Danielle took care of me and was so patient showing me reasonably priced frames. She not only helped me get a good fit, but she adjusted my old pair of glasses until they fit better than they ever had. Danielle takes her job seriously and is so very good at it. She has my business from now on. Excellent job!

This office is wonderful. The Doctor is professional and extremely nice. The staff are helpful, kind and courteous. Quality customer service. I highly recommend.

Updated review as of 03/19/19:Management was quick to reach out to help, and Jessica was extremely friendly and helpful, offering a suitable replacement for the frames that had been broken and putting a rush on the order to the lab. Definitely a must for us, since working without an updated prescription on his glasses was frustrating and painful. The new frames and lenses are just what we need, and I appreciated Jessica’s utmost professionalism and friendliness in helping us and ensuring that proper communication would be upheld in the future. Thank you, Jessica!——My husband needs new glasses because he’s been getting headaches, and he got an appointment to confirm that his prescription has changed. After, we provided them with an older pair of glasses so they could use the frames and put in new lenses. We were told it would take a week. Well, my husband stopped by after a week, and was told that not only did they NOT prepare his glasses with the new lenses, they broke the frames we gave them! The most baffling part is they did this, and didn’t even bother to call and let us know till we walked back in! Absolutely unprofessional, especially considering how much they charged.

I was not happy with my experience at RX optical. The customer service is terrible. I felt I was being pushed through and they did not care for my needs. my name and address was spelt wrong on my receipt which made it difficult to claim my rebate. And the website to claim my rebate was so difficult to use. There was absolutely nothing pleasant about my experience at RX optical. The music that was playing was so loud they could not hear what I was saying so i had to shout at the desk person. Turn down or shut that music off!! I will never return to RX optical.

Staff treated me great. About the only place I find now that does a great job of adjusting my glasses.

Have been going to this location for 5+ years have never had any problems until this year, the staff seem to be totally scrambled. Felt pushed to buy sunglasses and other things even after continuously saying no. Went to pick up my glasses a month after ordering them just to find out the lady never even sent it in. Which baffled me because I left there just like I have every other time and never once was under the impression she wouldnt order them. Dont know whats going on with this place but it just isnt the same anymore. Very frustrating

I give this location the highest recommendation to anyone who needs a high quality customer service experience. Heres why...Ive had horrible experiences with different providers in Jackson and decided to give RxOptical a try. I was hesitant at first due to the stigma of dealing with franchises or chain offices. This is typically due to high turnover in employees leading to lower quality customer service and products. RxOptical on West Ave definitely broke me of this stigma (specifically for their office).For the first time in a long time I had explanations of how and why my eyesight is changing and what to expect as I get older. This is in contrast to Here is your prescription. Deal with it. and having glasses that dont work how I need them to work.The entire experience was excellent from beginning to end. The Doctor who examined my eyes let me know that I now need bifocals, explained to me why, how they work, etc. Well, that makes sense why my last set of glasses didnt work as expected.Now comes the tedious task of picking out my frames. I have zero sense of style when it comes to this task. Usually my wife comes with me to find frames that dont make me look dorkier than I already do (since she is the one who has to see me wearing them). She wasnt able to come with me this time, so the specialist working in the front helped me pick out a couple sets of frames.Once I settled on the frames, she ensured they were sized correctly and took the extra time to explain how progressive lenses work, what to expect, adjustment times, what to do, and what not to do.Unfortunately, my new glasses dont allow me to remember the names of the folks I worked with at the RxOptical office. So, I do apologize for that. Be assured though, every visit Ive had since then has been the same high quality level as my first one.

The staff was friendly. However the doctor was very pushy, impolite and I kept having to ask questions more then once to get the information I needed. Lots of huffing, puffing and impatience from her. They did get the job done however. Though I will stay with Rx Optical in the future I will try the E. Mich Ave location in the future.

Dr and staff very friendly and relaxed, took my whole family very pleased. Have been using them for more than three years.

I can never get an appointment. I called on July 22nd and was told to call back on August 1st that they do not book appointments for August in advance.
