The best medical practice we’ve been to in years! They are so attentive and thorough, truly listen to all your questions and concerns, and all of the staff are so kind and polite. Highly recommend them!

I give this place 1 star because zero is not an option. Not that the doctors are bad or incompentant, but because of their business practices. I went and had my physical and they called me and said that the Doctor want to discuss the results of my physical. I said ok because I naturally assume discussing the results of my physical would be coded as part of the physical. Nope, they coded it as a office visit, so I had to pay out of pocket. After multiple attempts to get this resolved. The office manager told me they had no obligation to inform me that discussing the results of my physical is not considered as part of / or coded differently from a physical. So this cost me an extra $230.00. by my calculations Video chat for 9 min. 230/9= 25.55 per min * 60 = $1533 per hour. Point is if you go here make them tell you up front all the cost are. Do not you discuss anything outside what the specific reason for the visit is, without knowing if there are additional charges and what the charges are. If they run labs, make them tell you the cost before performing any task. This is not too much to ask, dont you know the the cost of everything else before having the work performed. You dont give anyone else a blank check so why would you give this doctors office a blank check. They will not like it but these are legitimate and reasonable request. Bottom line, watch your wallet when you are here, because if you dont they will pick your pocket!

I have been disappointed in the routines and practice the majority of times I have attended. Yesterday I waited an hour for my virtual visit to begin (after requesting an in office visit in the first place.) Only to be asked to come in anyway, to then have the provider cancel my apportionment due to “office manager policy.”I sourced care elsewhere and had better luck resolving my issue with in an hour than this location did in an entire work day.Honestly, if you have ties to another atrium family practice I would recommended you attend that location.

Horrible time resolving a billing issues from June. No one return calls.

Highly recommend & have been coming to Lake Park 15 years with Dr Chen as my Dr. He is honest, smart & does what he can to help with my many conditions (some of which are rare). He listens & tries to come up with other things that can help besides medications If medications are what is necessary he evaluates what is best plus what will interact well with other meds taking. He has a great staff. I recommended my brother to go to Lake Park family recently.

I have been with the office for a lot. Its time to change a location.For the recent couple of years waiting for NP extended from 30 mins up to 1 hour.Its ok for ED, but not for the scheduled appointment.Needless to say thats a torture to have a food day ago and waisting your PTO hours.

If you want to visit a Dr./Nurse Practitioner who cares more about her paycheck and her schedule than listening to you and caring about your well being then you should see Marleen Traywick. I would not recommend her. I find it odd that she has a career. How little does a person think of themselves that they would accept this low low standard of health care service?

I couldnt be happier.I was in search for a new primary care provider for my family and I. Im done with places where we go to get health care and they treat us just like one more on the line.I saw the NP DeLeslie.I was so welcomed from the sweet girl that was at the door doing the Covid screening as Angela at the front office, Sandy, the assistant and Deslelie the FNP.My first impression was above my expectations.DesLeslie and her assistant listened me with no rush , answered all my questions. I feel so confortable and now I definitely can say I have a family care provider and makes me feel secure case if I need any health care, I will be well assisted.Keep doing the great job!

Dr Chen, his PAs, nurses, (especially Kathleen), receptionists & lab staff are all the best. We are *so* happy to be able to go here. They are very thorough, concise and listen patiently to what I have to say. I have some complicated, ongoing problems and Dr Chen has worked me through all of them. Highly recommend!

The people at this place were so nice and professional. You can nit-pick anything, but I don’t have any problem with Lake Park Family Practice.

There are much better places for healthcare than this facility. On 1/29 I had severe stomach pain and googled for information. I was surprised to find a listing that said it could be a symptom of Covid. I had no fever. I went to an Atrium facility nearby they did not think it Covid related, but had concern over my gallbladder due to the location of the pain. It was suggested I go to the ER. Once at the ER I was told they were going to run and MRI. I could not afford the tests at this time so I went home. I immediately, received an email from Atrium asking me to schedule an appointment for 2/1. After waiting 40 minutes I was asked to leave simply because I asked about the link to Covid at the ER. I did not and still do not have a fever. I was asked to leave for googling and asking a question about symptoms not even listed in the standard Covid Questionnaire?? They asked me to set up a virtual visit for my Gallbladder?? How the hell does that work? I am new to Atrium so I will not judge this facility as a whole. Like about half of you reading this I have been unemployed and at home since last February. Unlike the other half I have never considered it a hoax. Ive been at home and always wear an N95 when I leave. They should have read my hospital notes it they had concern and they should have listened when I spoke.

I see NP Marleen Traywick at Lake Park Family Practice, for several years now. I love that she speaks with me directly and respectfully, listens carefully to concerns, answers my questions with clarity and is not irritated by numerous questions about treatment options, etc. I am received warmly, as though I am the first patient of the day, no matter the time.

We see Dr. Chen, we always have wonderful experience, he is always on time and he listen us carefully and provide us right guidance on our annual physical and other health questions and blood work results.

I went in for a check up and got my flu shot and shingles shots. I received great care at Lake Park Family practice.

1 Star is being nice. My family and I have been going here for over a year. We loved it when we first started...NOT ANYMORE! I have waited AT LEAST 30 minutes past my appointment time for EVERY single appointment I’ve had, after being told to be there 15 minutes early. Well today I had an appointment at 4:45pm. I drove from Cornelius to Indian Trail. I knew I was running late and kept in constant contact with them from 4:15pm on. At 5pm I was 1 traffic light away from the office and I was told there was no more availability for me. I have had to leave appointments without being seen because I waited so long to see someone. My son was misdiagnosed once when he had Mono. I have NOTHING good to say about this practice at all. If you want a caring and understanding doctors office...THIS IS NOT THE PLACE!

I do not recommend anyone going to this location. You have to wait on the doctors for an hour in the waiting room every time you have an appointment. When you call in for a prescription they take days to call you back and then dont even prescribe you the medication even if it is something simple. The customer service on the phone is horrible and your information is not confidential. They discuss your charts with other people in the office.

I have been going to this practice for several years now and I have never had a single issue. Their staff is kind and supportive, the nurses, physicians, and docorts are all great. They are all so great I dont have to ask for one or the other because they all communicate very well and all give the absolute best care they possibly can you will not be disappointed.

My wife took both of my kids to this doctor. She told me they ran no test and said that both my kids just had colds. Last night my daughter was still feeling horrible even worse. So she took them back to another doctors office and was told that my daughter has the flu and a ear infection. The doctor at this practice did not do their job and my wife had to go somewhere else to get my kids the proper care. DONT RECOMMEND AT ALL!!!!!

Unethical business practice. Watch your check book. Youll get billed for things you did not even realize you where visiting the the doctor for. Never bring up anything that is not related to your visit and every time they ask you a question ask the if youll be billed additionally for said question. While taking my son in for a check up I asked who I should call about getting a vasectomy, didnt think much of it until I got a 450$ bill in the mail for nurse to say Matthews Urology. Early in the year my wife got a cold and they refused to see her and we ended up spending over 3000$ at the E.R. And a 1$ for a z-pack (antibiotics), which is all she needed in the first place. This is only a fraction of the horrendous treatment received from them. UNETHICAL AND IMMORAL BUSINESSES PRACTICE. If you choose to go bring your lawyer along with you. Im calling mine.

I love going to Lake Park Family Practice. Dawn Hale is great. After a few visits, I completely trust the information she gives me, and she makes the visit enjoyable. Staff is prompt in everything I need, and Ive never had to sit for an extended period in the waiting room.

This place is awful. Always long wait times. Today I sat in the waiting room for 45 minutes only to overhear the nurses say to each other that Marleen was running 1 hour behind. No update provided to me. I eventually had to leave so I could get back to work.

I thought it was a great little practice. The Carolinas Health System is a great advantage- I had my lab results through email the very next day including a note from the doctor explaining them.I have only been there once, but so far it has been a great experience.

Very nice people but they misdiagnosed me and my husband and gave us the wrong treatments. Had to come back to get the correct treatments. They were also going to give my son three vaccine shots that he did not need because the front desk gave them the wrong chart. Stopped using them and moved to another clinic. Shame because I liked them but I cant chance the health of my family with these types of awful mistakes.

I had pulled up Lake Parks info to call them and noticed the low score for reviews. I am beyond confused. I have gone to Lake Park for around 10 years and absolutely love them. Dawn Hale is who I see and she has never been anything but helpful and given great care. There have been times where I’ve had to wait (nothing unreasonable) or they may not have been able to fit me in that day but isn’t that kind of to be expected for a busy practice? The front desk staff has always been very friendly and kind. Also all the nurses or medical assistant (not sure the correct name) I have encountered have been nothing but wonderful! Dawn always remembers things going on in my life and ask me how I am, along with how my family is doing. They are always accomedidating to my intense fear of needles or really being at the doctors in general haha. I understand everyone has their own story but I wanted to post this review so people who see this know that some people have nothing short of a great experience with this practice and Dawn.

The exam rooms seem dirty, and the staff distracted and judgmental. They dont listen to parents. My kids deserve better, so do yours.

I’ve been going to this clinic for about 2 years, at first it was a ok, but ALWAYS a long wait. But then, on my most recent visits I went with my daughter for a cough, the providers misdiagnosed her 3 times, I finally went to a Different practice where she was diagnosed with pneumonia!! How do you miss that in a toddler???!!!??!! Thank goodness, I trusted my gut.

This office has gone way above and beyond in helping my family with their medical needs. I would strongly recommend this office to anyone. Excellent care and compassion has been shown by the entire practice.

My family and i have been patients here for over five years. Weve watched the bed side manner decrease over the past year, for the exception of Mrs. Forsyth. The providers no longer enter with a smile or are empathetic. Now the visits are rushed, referred out, and you truly feel like just a number. Callbacks do not always happen and test results not always given. You can no longer reach someone in the office and your call is sent to a call center. (Nice people though?) If you have a serious health issue, prepare to ask for the debunking of your concerns. It took another doctor from a family visit to find what the couldnt for over 2 years. Its just too much.I gave a three due to friendliness of staff, wait times, and ease of appointments. Also for the past I guess. Its time I find a new provider for my family. I still wish the people at the practice nothing but the best.

Unfortunately after 3 years of using LPFP, my family and I have no alternative but to switch practices. Dr. Douglas Chen is a very nice doctor, but the practice as a whole has not met our needs. My Wife has had 3 appointments in which she has shown up for, only to wait for over 45 minutes after checking in, to turn around and leave. Patients have families, families have needs, and its sad that after having a patient leave work on the dot to go to a scheduled appointment and have our baby sitter work extra, that she cannot even be seen in a reasonable time frame, let alone at all. Im truly disappointed in their service and treatment of my Wife. You bill when patients no show, but what do you do for patients who you neglect appointment times...?

As an OCD nurse, I do not impress easily or often when it comes to my healthcare, but my experience here was outstanding from start to finish, and with every person I encountered from the receptionist to the NP I saw. They got me in for a new patient consult - in the evening - in a day. The office was clean and orderly and I was called back as soon as I sat down. I have a very complex medical history and the NP Dawn sat with me for over an hour and was unbelievably thorough. My labwork was done the same day and in-house, and everything problem I came in with was addressed. The medical assistant Allison was very kind and put me at ease. I could not give a higher recommendation!

If you call the office directly the staff is efficient and friendly and organized. I have had good experiences with all of the Doctors and Assistants

Heads up. My wife went in for a annual physical. Marlene Traywick asked her about her asthma that she checked “yes” for on pre existing conditions. She answered the questions asked of her and when the bill came it was an extra $314 because they discussed asthma. Great business practice.

Ive been a patient at Lake Park for 13 years and, aside from frequent communication problems between them and my pharmacy, I have been happy... until now.I was laid off from my job in May and lost my insurance. I cant afford COBRA or ACA so I am uninsured. When I contacted the doctor to say that I was no longer insured and needed to know how much an office visit would cost they said they couldnt tell me. I was told I would need to make a $50.00 co-pay and then they would bill me for the rest.They said they couldnt give me a price because they didnt know what the doctor was going to do. It seems to me that I should have the right to know how much I am paying for something before they do it and then charge me. I see this as part of our broken healthcare system. Its bad enough I am now being fined for not having insurance, but I cant even shop around or tell a doctor, no, I cant afford that test right now.I havent receive my bill yet. I could be for $50.00. It could be for $50,000! Apparently they can decide to charge me whatever they want, and there is nothing I can do about it because I signed the promise to pay document when I started there.Im going to have to shop around and see if there is a doctor who can be above board in their pricing.

If you have anything seriously wrong with you do not go here. They know nothing. I recommend you use an internist for your family care physician. They are more qualified as doctors. I will be leaving Lake park family after being seen by Ragina Forthsight for about 3 years. I have had Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia for 25 years. I have been severely weak for about a year. I am unable to live a normal life. I am now loosing the ability to walk or stand for more then 3 to 4 hours a day. I have severe pain in my legs. Ragina never once recommended that I see a specialist. She just threw her hands up in the air and said there is nothing we can do. I finally asked to see different specialist. I went to see Ragina to get a form filled out in order to get a home care giver to come into my home. Ragina went on and on for 15 minutes insisting that I have a full psycological exam done. In other words it is in my head. She said that I have had all these test done and they have found nothing wrong. Well I havent even finished with all of the testing because I havent even seen all the specialist yet. Also, when she does a physical she barely examines your breast. She just pushes on them a couple of times without feeling for lumps. I feel that Ragina just has basic knowledge that most doctors have. She knows nothing about rare diseases so therefor they dont exist. She is just a PA so she just knows the basics. I need a doctor with much more training and knows where to send me to find out what is making me so ill. Well after posting this post a month ago I had another issue with Ragina Forthsight. I was planning on leaving the practice as soon as I changed doctors with my insurance company. About a month ago I was referred to an allergist by Ragina. The allergist in Charlotte referred me to Duke allergist in Durham because they are more knowledgeable then here in Charlotte. Duke requested a phone call from Ragina Forthsight or they would not schedule an appointment for me. She refused to call them so I could not make an appointment. She is a very mean and nasty person. I also found out what was causing my legs to be so weak, with no help from Ragina who told me it was in my head. I had changed my diet to fruits, vegetables and organic meats, eggs and fish. I never put salt on my food and had stopped going out to eat. I literally had no salt for 3 months. I found out online that your body needs salt in order for your nerves and muscles to work properly. I can stand on my legs now. I also found out why I am so weak. My antidepresant was not working properly for about 2 years. I also went off all medication when I went on the diet to try and heal my body from all the pain I am in from the Fibro. I cannot function without an antidepresant. People with fribro do not produce seratonin on their own. I figured out on my own what is wrong with me.

I personally love Dawn Hale. She has consistently diagnosed me properly, when the ER and Urgent Care did not. She has been pleasent, caring and attentive everytime I have been in. We will have to go to IL

I have been a patient of Dr. Douglas Chen since he first opened I was his 2nd patient.I would never go to any other doctor.If you want a caring,concerned and very good doctor I would advise you to get Dr.Chen as your doctor.Hes the best.For all the people that have to wait to see the doctor should relize he is that good and may even have a emergency so go complain to some other doctor where you have to wait awhile too!

I gave 4 stars because of the wait times. Honestly, they need more Drs I think. There is ALWAYS a wait, and lets face it, if they want us there 15 mins early, we want to be seen somewhat near our appt time also. But, the rest of the review will be very good. I have seen Regina, Dawn, Dr. Chen and daughter sees Marlene. I have had no issues with any of them. I see Regina the most, and Regina always listens patiently, I have never had an issue with them referring me to a specialist, actually they have been happy to when needed without me asking! Everyone please understand some of these things are beyond their control as they are rules of CHS NOT the Dr;s themselves. The billing policies, the 6 month visits for certain drugs before they will re-prescibe. Not everything is done or decided by them, in fact, MANY of the same things that frustrate me have been done exactly the same at other practices I have been to.I am NOT saying Lake Park is perfect, but it is a mixture of responsibility.

Do not go here. They are crooks. I get a bill a year later saying I owe money for my first visit because the doctor wanted to charge me for speaking to him about something. When all I went for was my first physical which my insurance covers. They cant be trusted. Does not make sense to get the bill a year later and they cant explain it.

If you want to come here dont see Dawn Hale. Not only will she not listen to you but if you have any problems dont expect her bedside manor to be professional or caring on the phone. She got your money, not her problem anymore attitude.

Very nice tucked away Drs office. Very professional and has a personal touch. Mrs. Regina Forsyth is a great healthcare provider. I have found my new Drs office.

Dawn Hale is the best, ask for her she is very good at what she does.

Dr. Traywick is the Doctor to see here. Shes awesome.
