Tried to set up a new patient appointment here about 2 weeks ago now and never heard from anyone after I submitted my forms. I called here twice, basically got the run around. Guess they pick and choose who they treat here, which is their prerogative but highly disappointed.

I was using Whitesburg Family however they’re billing is outdated and it’s aggravating to be unable to book a Dr visit when your in so much pain all because you have a $65 bill in collections from a shot/meds received in 2019 that you didnt even know about nor receive any statements for. I get ALL my other Doctors bill and even receive my husbands bills from this place and pay those, why wouldnt I pay mine? IF YOU DONT WANT A HIT ON OUR CREDIT, DO NOT GO HERE!!! They will not ever call you about a bill/past due bill. They ONLY “send statements”. I am currently searching for a family Doctor who actually cares about their patients health, time, and money.

My family and I have been going to see Dr. Ghanta for about eight years with no problems. I would state that she and her staff are wonderful and responsive. Her present office manager, Heather, did an outstanding job recently unraving a series of problems with my wifes insurance company, her mail order pharmacy, and several other complications. Heather actually worked on it for several days and worked until all the problems were solved. She went above and beyond.

I saw Dr. Ghanta for a couple of years, and I will never set foot in her office again. I was willing to overlook the few negative experiences Id had, but I will NEVER forgive what she said to me the last time I saw her.I lost my dad recently, and my last appointment was the day after his funeral. I broke down crying why while she was going over the results of my recent bloodwork. When I explained why I was crying, she offered me antidepressants. When I declined, she tried to write me a prescription for a sleep aid. At that point, I snapped at her that I didnt want to take any more medications. She said, and I quote, Rachel, I know youre sad now, but you need to move on. Again, this was less than 24 hours after Id buried my dad.Who does that?

I will be looking for another herbal practitioner/ family medicine office. Although they made a good first impression, it is very difficult to get information from the doctor/ nurse. I’ve tried calling multiple times about results from lab work and although I missed their first call, I immediate called them back and they did not answer. I have been trying to get in contact with them for 3 weeks (includes leaving a message with the nurse multiple times as that is who you are allowed to talk with) about the treatment of my thyroid condition. Hopefully when I ask for my records next week, they will act professionally.

The review system requires a rating - the 1 star does NOT reflect the Drs quality of service, but that of the receptionist. According to the receptionist at Whitesburg Family Medicine, you are required to fill out new patient forms for the doctor to review (which Im told is a 2 week process) to determine whether I would be accepted as a patient. Once I got past her condescending and horrific diatribe of how this process is used by all medical offices and that some doctors dont want to deal with certain diseases I explained that Im from out-of-state, sustained a concussion last week and the ER wants me to follow up with a GP this week. Even more horrific and reprehensible is that this appears to be the process for most GP offices in Huntsville, AL. So if youre from out of state, injured and need a new a GP - good luck.

I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but Dr. Ghanta is the worst physician I have ever had the displeasure of visiting, and people need to know about it.I was immediately put off by the fact that you need to fill out the intake paperwork ahead of time, and then the practice will get back to you if you qualify to be a patient: something I had never experienced before or since, and took about five weeks, even though I had a pressing issue (needed a refill on medications). After waiting about five weeks for my initial establishing care visit, Dr. Ghanta saw that I wasn’t taking birth control, and tried to force it on me, even though I expressed *many* times that I had tried almost everything on the market, and they all severely impact my mental health for the worse. I felt that she never really took me seriously because of my refusal to take birth control, even though I had legitimate reasons not to and also use other methods of contraception.I was having issues with my anti-depressants, and hoping for some new options. Dr. Ghanta did not listen to my history of medications I’d tried, and prescribed me a medication I’d reacted adversely to in the past despite my strong objections. When I told her that didn’t work, she essentially threw up her hands and said she couldn’t help. I understand specialists are required in some situations, but it is her job as a doctor to at least help her patients through until they get through the often lengthy waiting lists to see a specialist. She is totally unwilling to do that.Dr. Ghanta is maybe fine for people with no chronic issues who just need to pop in a few times a year. But if you have any sort of chronic illness: AVOID.

I have been a patient here for over 6 years. The proactive approach that this team has taken has saved my life as well as that of my mother in law.Even doctors and their offices should be afforded a mistake from time to time. The staff here in my 6+ years has never been rude. If they are so horrible to deserve one star and such criticism, what kept you going back for 3 years? It seems to me that youre one to quickly criticize a single visit for which you didnt like the results of, but for 3 years of at least decent service, they werent worth a mention.Since becoming patients for this wonderful practice, I have got the direction and treatment to cure a brain tumor, my mother in law has been cleared of leukemia, and my father (who had several strokes before moving to Huntsville) has been stroke free and had a sustained blood pressure for the first time in decades.Dont let one person who remained silent until having one single bad experience in 3 years suggest you go elsewhere. This practice is maticulous and does their best to diagnose problems rather than symptoms, and in my experience has been very successful at doing so.The guy who posted a poor rating of one star and complained about them over a single visit over a 3 year span is obviously one who thinks, if I dont have anything bad to say, I wont say anything at all.If youre looking for an office that cares, this is your medical team. If you call first thing in the morning, my experience has been, you can always get a same day appointment. My first appointment was same day, and every one since (other than follow-up appointments) had been the same. Hands down, fantastic office who will always do their very best to care for their patients. All that said, there is one downside to this office. They are opened fewer hours than I work every week. While I give them 5 stars all the way, I also highly suggest that they extend their business hours. Such a good doctors office should not limit their availability to patients so much, they are simply too good for that.

Billing takes 6 months to bill you, but they tell you that you are 120+ days overdue. The office staff is rude. There is never any availability for same day appointments, it was a week wait to get an appointment to be seen for a sinus infection. The doctors don’t listen to you, I told them a steroid shot and antibiotics normally fix what I had. I was told that I PROBABLY had a viral infection without any medical evidence to support it and was told to take OTC medication. After a few days, I went to another clinic that listened to my history and I was feeling better that same day with a steroid shot and antibiotic and stayed feeling well afterwards. Wrote the doctor with concerns about his staff and his billing being behind and all I got was a certified letter saying that I was being dropped from his practice after being a patient for 3 years. All this practice cares about is getting your money and doesn’t care about your wellbeing. They overbook their patients so there are no same day appointments for people that are sick and need to be seen. The staff is VERY rude and uninformed.

Ive been with Dr McMillion now a couple of years. My wife was with him before that a couple of years. Before than I only dealt with an endocrinologist and a cardiologist for the issues I had. By going to WFM I saved a lot of money on copays and got, what I consider, BETTER care than I had previously. I recently read the 1-star review....I cant speak for his situation, but I can tell you Ive never had that happen to me, nor my wife. I will agree with the other review about the hours...I, too, wish they had longer hours, but I can understand why they do not. I hope people do not read that 1-star review and base their opinions solely on that one isolated incident. When I wasnt able to see Dr McMillion, I got in to see Dr Haley over a Christmas break. Same service, same care. No difference. I dont know Dr. Ghanta, but I know her husband as he performed an emergency gall bladder removal on me...so Im sure shes just as capable and competent as he is and Id have no problems seeing her either.

Dr. Ghanta is awesome, as is her staff. She is patient and is has a good bedside manner. I dont feel rushed when Im there. Also, her staff is really friendly. Blue Cross Blue Shield was holding up a medication that Dr. Ghanta prescribed to me and Summer stayed with it and had to fax documents four times to get insurance to pay. Im very pleased that Dr. Ghanta is my primary.
