Dr.Lucier is wonderful. However the two technicians at the Howell location are a joke. They don’t know what the hell they’re doing and they have no business working there. The one older lead tech(Julie) just walks around complaining and the other tech just simply doesn’t know what she’s doing.

The service at L.O. was great. Dr. Eston and the rest of the staff were very professional and helpful. The computer aided check-in process was easy to use. The staff made sure the rooms and equipment were sanitized before the next patient was served.I highly recommend this office.

Everyone that I had contact with in this office was WONDERFUL! Such kind and caring people, from the gal at the reception desk, the people who did several different vision tests, the doctor, and the very patient woman who helped me find just the right frames for my new glasses. I have been going to another office in Howell for many years, and had several bad experiences there. My husband also has had enough of them, and he will certainly be coming here, when he is ready for his next eye exam. Every procedure was explained to me, and all my questions answered. It was so refreshing to be helped by such a professional and knowledgeable staff.

Very good care BUT every appointment takes 2 or 3 hours. Update: I originally gave them 3 stars because the long appointment times, but since Covid, Ive had to visit twice and each time went a lot quicker. The doctor has always been great. I just really hated the super long appointments.

This was a first time appointment because my mother had a good experience. I desperately needed new glasses ASAP..Very pleased with the examination doctor, Erica Lucier who was thorough and answered my questions.I have always Immediately picked frames after an exam. When I entered that area, a young girl began barking orders, take my purse off the table, not on the chair - on the corner (dirty)floor. Not to touch anything, to keep my mask on. She told my 85 year old mother, standing 8 feet away with a mask on, to go wait in the car(On a90 degree day). She barked “Whitt do you want” I replied that I needed to look to see what they offered. She complained that she had to clean them if I tried them on. I thought they were ALWAYS cleaned after a customer put them on their face, but I remained compliant. I showed her a few frames of my own that I brought to give an idea as to what I liked.. She told me I should go home and think about it..but I wanted to look around to see what they had to offer..She mentioned five times during that brief visit that she had to clean them, making me feel guilty. I said I needed to try them on first. She said I needed to go home to go online and come back. I pointed to a few pair and asked to try them on. I tried my best to explain that I NEED glasses today! Feeling pressured to leave I asked how much a frame was and if she could write down the details of two pair I was interested in. She said my total bill would be over $800 but to go somewhere else because it would be cheaper. I felt pressured to leave, even though no one else was waiting. She only wrote the numbers for one pair because she said she put the other pair away.Clearly she did not want me there. Disappointed and confused, I went home. The day had started so nicely because I was expecting to get new glasses. I had been ordered what to do the second I entered and treated with extreme rudeness. This is the day after and I have driven to and called eyeglass businesses trying to figure how to get my prescription filled. This is unfair business, I waited 3 months for LO Eye Care Howell to open! It’s so unnecessary for me to be upset and I still need to order eyeglasses.

I recently visited this office as a new patient. Im giving two stars- one for the kind reception staff and one for the friendly tech who did an exam before I saw the doctor.I saw Dr. Eston and had a disappointing experience. She right away chalked the reason for my visit up to vanity and encouraged me to think less about my looks. I dont think the doctor even knew my name- she didnt ask me any questions about the reason for my visit, so this assumption felt inappropriate. She made a few other surprising comments and I left after maybe 5 minutes. I waited an hour to see her to have a hurried, dismissive (even insulting) visit, which wasnt at all what I was hoping for.

Wow, so I was reading the reviews for the Howell Eye Center and felt compelled to respond with my own experience with the staff their. Ive been going to the Howell location of Lansing Ophthalmology for about 30 years (back when it was on Byron Road) and Ive always had great experiences there. Ive once tried to schedule an appointment late in the year and it got pushed into January which means I missed my opportunity to get it covered under my current year of insurance coverage but Im not sure what office staff can do when they are booked. The staff has always been professional and courteous and the doctors there are top notch. My whole family goes here for treatment and while its a bit of a drive for us now we are all confident that with the care we receive being excellent.

We never made it to the actual appointment because the insurance they take is limited. My husband and i have different optical insurance. For mine, we discovered before the appointment that they only take certain networks, so I cancelled and went elsewhere. A little annoying since I have a major carrier, but we understood. For my husband, we were told over the phone they take his insurance and double checked the exceptions list on their website to make sure there were none. When he went to the actual appointment we were told that only doctors at other locations take it. We will take our business elsewhere locally.

My husband and I have both been going to LOC in Howell for years. I speak very highly of Dr. Eston. She has done caterac surgery on both of us and I had a special lens put in. Shes a marvelous doctor and were very blessed to have her in our area. The staff has been very professional, we have Medicare advantage and have never had a problem.

The Howell Branch of Lansing Opthamology has a very rude and uncaring staff. The doctors are fine, but the receptionist in particular is VERY rude. She called to cancel appointments for my entire family less than two hours before the appointments. Due to weather they were closing early. Absolutely NO CARE WHATSOEVER for the inconvenience and additional cost to us (as insurance resets to 0 on Jan 1). Absolutely NO CONSIDERATION for trying to work us in later in the week. I was basically told this was my fault for waiting until the end of the year to schedule the appts and accused of having an adult temper tantrum when I started to push back on this BS. I would AVOID the Howell branch at all costs.

People who work there are rude. They put you on hold or continue to transfer you until you get sent to voice mail. I finally scheduled an appointment, 3 1/2 weeks in advance, only for them to cancel it. It has been very frustrating trying to work with them. Finally chose another facility.
