Y’all, I needed help & I needed it fast. I had 2 big girl dogs that acted like a pack already. My parents had 2 dogs, a big girl and a little guy. Their female was not socialized and acted aggressive towards men & other dogs. We never attempted to put the 4 dogs together. Then, my parents both died in a very short amount of time & I suddenly had to find a way to bring these 4 together & I was so scared. The 1st 2 trainers I called wanted to try & help me via ZOOM. Hands down the best decision made for our standard poodle. Outstanding customer service, very knowledgeable and understanding to our needs. Our puppy recently stayed with Sheena for three weeks when he was six months old. He learned manners, obedience and how to walk on a leash. We took our large German Shepard, Loki, to Puptown because he had issues with aggression and zero training. It was obvious immediately that they knew what they were doing. Several weeks later he was trained and we were trained too! Fast forward 1 year later and Loki follows commands and we can have friends and family over without fear of incident. A friend that got cornered a few times by Loki before Puptown, says he can’t believe that he’s the same dog. He literally can’t wait to come over and play with Loki! I truly believe that Puptown allowed Loki’s real personality to come out by teaching us to communicate with him and vice versa. He went from being borderline dangerous to being a giant, lovable goofball. We are eternally grateful.

Gave them $2,500 and the dog is doing the same thing when I brought them my dog wont listen wont sit on command uses the bathroom in the house when I came to pick up the dog they had a e-collar on her neck to make me believe the dog was trained but as soon as I brought her home the dog did the same behavior do not take your dog to these people a waste of money is all I got 😠😡

Unless you’re in the mood to waste thousands of dollars, don’t put you dog in this program. They ask you to submit 5 goals before training as a guide for their learning; zero of the 5 I submitted were addressed. My dog was already capable of the basic commands, was potty trained, and could walk on a leash. Apart from teaching my dog to “climb” (what use is that??), my dog developed uncontrollable habits. He had a minor barking and jumping problem, after “training” it has become so obnoxious it is almost unbearable. He has never acted in this manner. Not only that, my dog completely ignores any commands all together. He no longer sits, stays or listens without being leash choked. He also developed an extreme biting issue, which was previously minor and only did it when he played. If you were thinking my dog is a less intelligent breed, he’s a 10mo sheepadoodle and learned all previous commands without treat training or shock collar.Puptown doesn’t believe in verbally communicating with you pet until week 3, which likely contributed to the issues, but wouldn’t have occurred if they would have read the submitted goals.Oh, and because the trainers were aware their program was not sufficient, the instituted shock collars the last of his 3 weeks of boarded training, without permission.At the pickup session where they go over commands, my dog was unable to do almost all of them without being shocked to the point he jumped and watered at the mouth.**Lastly, they would give him baths during the week when he was there, but never took the time to dry and/ or brush him. Because he’s clearly a fluffy breed, he was returned to me with such terrible matting the groomer accused me of neglect.To say I’m unhappy, unimpressed, and furious is the least

I cannot say enough good things about Puptown. My dog was a re-home, he was very well behaved and trained - until I was hospitalized and wasnt able to follow up with said training. Flash forward to this year my husband and I were expecting out first child and I knew our fur baby needed some reinforcement. Alot of places I had looked at wouldnt take him as hes a staffie pitbull. But they did and they were so good with him. He came back the dog we originally adopted - still timid and afraid of everything but so sweet and obedient.They were very kind and gave weekly updates (pregnant me didnt handle him being away so long, very well.) And were so patient teaching us how to follow through with him. I cannot thank you enough!!!

Best decision I ever made was to send my two dogs here. We did the three week Board and Train. My two year old Goldendoodle was becoming reactive towards other dogs and small children. I did hours of research and decided that Puptown was the place to send him. Puptown exceeded all expectations. My pup returned as the sweetest boy ever! He’s not only no longer reactive towards other dogs or kids, he also has a great recall, heel, and soo much more! We can literally bring him anywhere and he is perfectly behaved (people stop us to comment on how well behaved the pups are). He is also so much happier with the newly introduced discipline. He is such a good and confident doggo!!We also sent our little five month old Goldendoodle pup at the same time and it has been amazing having a puppy who doesn’t pull when we go for walks, stays in a sit or down when we are out in public and comes when called. It has set the foundation for a well trained dog for the rest of his life.Anytime we have questions or run into difficulties Puptown has been there to guide us. We will continue to send our dogs here for boarding when we are out of town because we don’t trust anyone like we trust Puptown. We know our dogs are being trained, loved and socialized. We also love the constants pictures and updates the send to let us know how the dogs are doing.

We decided it was time to enroll our 8 month old Basenji in progressional training and came across Puptown Houston. Anyone with a Basenji knows the breeds stubbornness so we set our hopes high, our expectations a bit lower. After 3 very long weeks, pictures, videos and updates, the day arrived to pickup Charlie. I cannot thank Puptown and the trainers enough for the work they did connecting and teaching him. It is on us to continue working with him daily, but our puppy seems more mature and well behaved (well mostly…he is still a puppy lol).

The trainers at Puptown houston are absolutely amazing! We researched all over town and decided to send our rambunctious six month old lab pit mix puppy there for four weeks of intensive training and the results were unbelievable. Tara came back not only incredibly well behaved but truly has seemed happier having well-established boundaries and rules, and most importantly she really enjoyed her time there. When we went to visit her she was having a blast and didn’t seem to miss us at all. On the day we went to take her home she did everything she could to try to hide so she didn’t have to leave! We have taken her back since for boarding and a training refresher and plan to keep doing that for the rest of her life.Since we hope to have Tara for 10 to 15 years this is an investment that is so well worth it -she is an amazingly well trained and happy dog now and everyone in the family is happier too! Whenever we take her out people comment on her good manners and can’t believe how well behaved she is. Prior to her intensive training this was a very sweet lovable dog who would regularly chew up expensive belongings, jump up on people and furniture and pull on her leash- in 4 weeks all of those behaviors are completely gone. I have a AKC black brindle Boxer named Chula. Sheena and Cass did a fantastic job with Chula( 9 months old). Chula came back and learned to heil on leash, sit, down, stay, come on command. Also they taught her not to jump on people. Now 10 months later I returned Chula for a refresher course. I missed Chula during training and Sheena sent me pictures of her during training. Sheena and Cass treat every dog like if they were their own. I highly recommend Puptown to any new dog owner. Also they have fair rates. I take my Hat off to Sheena and Cass.

Puptown is simply amazing! Theyre super knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. My baby is 5 years old, so shes not a puppy anymore but Puptown still helped her get to where she needed to be. Not only that but they made fantastic suggestions on how to not only keep her healthy but to actually improve her health.

When my husband and I brought our shepherd mix, Mac, to Puptown Houston for a three-week board and train, he was just over a year old. On walks, Mac dragged us behind him on the leash, sprinted after squirrels and bugs, and lunged at dogs. Mac listened to us if he felt like it (more like, if we had treats), and ignored us completely when we were outside. It was impossible to get his attention if he was focused on something else. Once he went into an adrenalized state of reactivity, it took an incredibly long time to bring him back to reality. We had no tools to work through difficult scenarios; we just had to drag him by the leash away from the situation. He was wary of strangers, overly protective of our apartment, and dangerously aggressive towards almost all men. We definitely needed a professional trainer’s help.The absolute best thing about a board and train with Puptown Houston is the follow-up training afterwards, which is an excellent opportunity to both learn about dog training and behavior as it applies to your dog and to fine-tune your dog’s training. Mac learned excellent obedience in his three-week board and train, but after it was over, we needed to learn how to continue working with him. He could do everything we asked of him in certain controlled situations, but once he realized he was back home with us, he thought he could go back to the way it was before. There was definitely a transitional period while we learned how to use the e-collar and while Mac realized that what he learned applied not only with the trainers, but also in familiar environments like our apartment complex. Fast-forward six months, and Mac is obedient, but has retained his goofy, sweet, energetic personality. He is happy to greet strangers in our apartment and in public, we can take him with us to bars and restaurants, and he can walk off leash in the park past distractions.Sheena and the staff at Puptown Houston will treat your dog like their own. They care about the pups they train and are committed to your dog’s success. Mac was an anxious, stubborn, reactive, and highly energetic dog, making him exceptionally difficult to train, but they did it! We are so glad we got our dog trained with Puptown Houston, and would highly recommend you do the same!

We enrolled our Golden Retriever puppy in the 3-week course when Coco was 14 weeks old. We were very happy with our experience. Coco was well looked after and we received updates on her training over the 3 weeks. When she returned she was a much more manageable puppy and would follow the key commands (sit, down, climb). Sheena is the absolute best! We sent our 10 week old GSP puppy for the Lodge and Learn program and he returned with SO much improvement. Sheena works so well with the dogs and even young pups like ours pick up so much from the training she does with them. He came back with all the basic obedience skills we had asked her to work on. She really helps them to learn everything so that when your puppy comes home you can easily continue their training and help them continue to learn. It is important to remember that if you send her a puppy you are still getting a puppy back, not a fully trained adult dog. But this program helps immensely with getting your puppy to understand what they are supposed to be doing and how to do it so that you can take over when they come home. I was able to go work on things through out his time at the lodge and learn which also helped for me to see what he was working on and what concerns I had. Sheena addressed them and showed me how to work on them with him. I would absolutely do this again for my next dog and I would absolutely recommend this program to friends. This is well worth the investment in your new family member!!

Horrible training Sheena is a quick slick talker like a Used Car salesman. She will talk you in circles and try to pressure you into training. After, reviewing a few places I choose Puptown only to find out the facility listed was a house in the woodlands that was up for sale or lease. After I spoke with Sheena and she explained he situation i felt comfortable leaving my pet. Her lack of availability to return calls or text is horrible, lacks the ability to keep parents updated on progress. The WORST of it all is when i showed up to get my beautiful pup he seemed afraid of her. I didnt realize why until after i took him to the vet, Sheena tried to up sale me on what she called vibration collar fancy wording for a shock collar even put it on my wrist at like level 5 to show the pain of it, please remember these collars go up to 100. You can clearly see from the pictures once they cut his fur back she definitely had it higher that 5 on him and I was never asked about or informed SHOCK collars would be used on my puppy. When i refused to by a collar to torture my puppy she insisted i get a Pinch collar when i went to the vet they where mortified by how tightly she had fit his collar and added 3 prong about 1/4 inch in length a piece. I strongly suggest if you love your pets that you find a better training facility who are equipped to train with positive reinforcements. She trains her dogs for defensive and bite work not to be loving obedient members of the family, unless your wiling to have them walk around with a Shock box on their throat all day. My pup spent 10 days with PUPTOWN and I got two updates that i had to call and call for....

Excellent trainers. I have a fairly large dog (Bolt) who is loveable, but he would jump up on myself, my daughters and visitors. Bolt has a lot of energy and he can be a bit wild. While I did try to teach him some basic obedience on my own, he would not always listen and I felt like I never had his attention. He was easily distracted by his surroundings. After dropping Bolt off for 2 weeks of training I felt like I was picking up a different dog. Bolts down, stay and come commands were much more responsive. The command I liked the best was his down and stay command for an extended length of time without being distracted and breaking the command. I was very pleased with the training Bolt received in the short amount of time he was left with Ashley and Sheena. For Obedience Training I highly recommend Ashley and Sheena at Puptown.

Recently I just got a german Shepard pup and I went here based off of some friends recommendations, and it was a wonderful experience. My dog, Jasper, is a very obedient and wonderful companion. He understands all of my commands and always has a smile on his face. Im very pleased that I went here to get my pup trained, it was well worth it.

Puptowns new location is in an easy to find location. The property and facility are well kept and welcoming. I you are considering sending your dog to obedience school this is the place to do it. Very friendly staff and my dog was excited to be apart of their training sessions.

Horrible facility do not take your dog here. They use complete compulsion methods and abuse dogs. My dog was terrified for his life when i got him back. The owner is a slick talker and master manipulator do let her fool you like she did me. Please do not take your dog here.

I sent my rescue GSD to one of Puptown’s Lodge and Learn program for some basic command training (in German) last year. When I got Rambo back, he was a totally different dog. No more pulling on the leash and a lot more social with other dogs. Sheena even worked with him on off-leash obedience. I said I would NEVER walk a GSD off leash. The first time I actually tried it was on a trip to Galveston on the beach. He stayed right by my side the whole time. Since then, I have done a lot more off-leash walking with him.The follow up sessions after the Lodge and Learn program are great for reinforcing what he was taught. That was about a year ago. I called Sheena last week because Rambo has started getting territorial around my apartment complex. She came to my apartment and worked with him in his own environment and in just one day, I have already seen positive results with the advice she gave. I highly recommend Puptown for you dog training needs!

We rescued a 9 month old golden doodle ... We asked ourselves.... Did we make the biggest mistake of our lives? Understand my husband and I are empty nesters, we have Barclay our 5 year old doodle who is a perfect fit for our relatively peaceful life.... Enter Oliver...omg sweetest bright energetic doodle who has never had any training. We found Puptown Houston/Sheena through a neighbor who Sheena had trained her doodle -Flash forward... We were new to Houston when we found Sheena with Puptown Houston... I have a 130 lb Giant Alaskan Malamute named Koda who is very stubborn and is an escape artist who can get out of pretty much anything you put him in.. who also loves to howl and keep us up all night and annoy our neighbors. So Koda was a real piece of work and we needed all the help we can get with someone who was patient with my giant baby. Sheena was very loving and he did need extra time compared to others dogs but once he came home he was a changed dog, Koda was disciplined, calm and stopped howling.. if Sheena was able to help me with Koda who I never thought anyone could help get me results this quickly.. I would highly recommend Puptown Houston to anyone and everyone.

Our experience with this facility was very disappointing. We board and trained our working line dog here to have them train her basic commands and break some very bad behaviors. She stayed 3 weeks and she did not know any commands and had all the same bad behaviors. She had also lost a significant amount of weight which she did not need to lose. She also came home with a very bad food aggression problem that she did not have when she went there. We were given a shock collar and told to shock her anytime she did something wrong. I can not believe we paid so much money for absolutely nothing. I wish we had saved our money and trained her ourselves.

Sheena was amazing with our fluff monster, Nitro. We enrolled him in the Lodge and Learn program when he was around 6 months old. I really appreciated Sheenas patience and communication throughout the process. He has been home with us for a little less than a week, but we can already see a major difference in how he listens to us and behaves at home. Its made world of difference in our happiness and relationship with Nitro.

Our Boxer puppy is currently enrolled in Puptown Houstons 14 day training. We researched and looked for a training facility that we would trust to care for and train our precious Sophie Diana and Puptown Houston has and continue to exceed our expectations.

Sheena told me she would have my dog trained in 2 weeks, after a week she said she needed a few more days to proof his training. She ended up keeping him for over a month and when I got him back he was underweight, untrained and looked terrified. She charged us close to 2 grand and our dog was not trained at all, she just told us we needed to use a prong collar and e collar in order to make him listen and he looked absolutely terrified of her and completely shut down when she put the equipment on him. She lied to us and manipulated us, within days after getting him back we realized he wasn’t eating and appeared to be sick. Me and my husband took him into the vet and he had worms and Parvo!!!! Please don’t send your dog here! I read all the great reviews and Sheena was great at lying and convincing us that she was taking good care of our dog but she is a wonderful liar and a horrible person. I would never board my dog with her let alone let her train him ever again. Sheena the owner of PupTown Houston is a complete fraud and liar, this business should be shut down!

Sheena is the absolute best dog trainer Ive ever had the chance to work with. The team at puptown went above and beyond everything I could ask for!!!!

While the training is great, we let the trainers know that our German shepherd gets giardia very eaisly and to not allow him to drink from one of the many lakes on their location, when he came back from his training, he was infected with it. We were told that they do not cover any vet bills even if something happened while in their care, so that sucked (while no where on any contract did it say they do not cover that). I do recommend them for the training though, while it is expensive the ability to do offer free refresher courses for the life of the animal, sheena trained our puppy and shes very good with teaching owners how to take over where she left off. We may take him back for more training, but not likely over night sessions.

Paid thousands, brought the dog home and stayed consistent with what she was supposedly “taught”. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of things she learned for thousands of dollars. We were only shown a few things she could do in about 15-20 mins time when we picked her up after over a month of training. They should have set aside atleast an hour or more of demonstration to be shown the training of what she was supposedly taught and how to carry it out at our home My dog was constantly running freely on the property, swimming in the pond and pool (like a dog vacation) every time they called to ask about her progress I was told she was playing or swimming. they taught her to be food/treat motivated when obeying which is the complete wrong way to train a dog. They shouldn’t expect anything for being obedient. The trainer wore a treat bag on her waist which is NOT IDEAL bc no one is going to want wear a treat bag at home with their dog for the rest of that dogs life just for them to obey you. We are now having to spend more money to take her somewhere else to be properly trained. I really wanted to leave good feedback on this company but unfortunately our experience was less than what we paid for it’s more of a dog vacation on a plot of land. Please don’t take your dogs to a place that uses food motivation for training bc it is not going to work when the dog is back home.i also should add it seemed very unorganized. They took my dog to the vet while she stayed with them and never gave me the vaccination records from her visit, until I called for them. they had to search for her stuff the day we took her home and had to have me remind them of all the things she came with. Oh and they train the dogs with a shock collar- also NOT a good long term training tool.

I have a 4 year old chinook mix that would run the neighborhood if a door was open, he would even break my fence when he was outside! I have been through everything with this dog from bottle feeding to almost loosing him from an intestinal blockage. I was afraid for him getting hit by a car after I had learned that him and my naughty beagle had miraculously made it across louetta and champions forest. I knew something had to be done! I had met Sheena when I started working at my current place of employment and told her my concerns with my baby! I told her what I wanted out of him, and with him being all kinds of working breeds what I wanted him to learn! I enrolled my baby in doggy boot camp and was able to see his progress! When Sheena told me that my baby could come home after only 2 WEEKS, I said theres no way she could have trained him that fast! Sheena took the time to show me what he had learned and even let me take the reigns (she was there to coach me through it all!)! After having him home only a couple of days I was able to let my baby outside in the front yard with me without him running away!!! Thank you so much Sheena for letting me fall in love with my naughty bottle baby all over again!!!! I have already recommended her to all of my friends that ask me how Boomer became so behaved!!!!

We got her around 2 months and she was amazing but progressively got aggressive towards dogs and humans to the point where we couldnt even take her on walks or out front. If a dog was across the street she would try to get away from us to attack it. The vet office members were scared of her, my neighbors didnt want to come over, she would pull so hard on leashes I would bruise. She was fine with family but other than that she was horrible. Dont get me wrong, we loved her but were slowly giving up hope on having a good dog. In comes Sheena with Puptown. We met her at a Home and Garden Show in The Woodland. We boarded Heidi with her for 2 weeks for her training. When we got there to board, Heidi didnt try to attack her which was AMAZING! Sheena gave us updates on Heidi almost every day, taught her AMAZING commands that you literally have to say free to get her out of and specified the training for what Heidi needed. Most places have a cookie-cutter method of training, not Sheena. She views every dog as an individual and trains them in a specific way. Sheena took her to do a show in the Woodlands a week into training and invited us to see her progress, when we walked around the corner and saw her sitting there on her perch, no leash, tons of people and dogs walking by, petting her, kissing her, etc, we literally couldn’t even move we were in such shock. For the past 6 months we have been told by numerous trainers that she will not be a dog that is meant to be around other people and dogs and here she was getting kisses from KIDS on the face! Just amazing. It was on that day that she asked us if we wanted to continue training in English or train her in German or French too. We chose French and now Heidi is bilingual in English and French for her commands. You can give her commands in a mix of English and French and she will listen to them. Anyways, we went to go get her and Sheena told us we were going to a dog park, yes, A DOG PARK… Sheena had taken her multiple times throughout training but we just didn’t believe it. As we were walking through the gates at the dog park my heart was in my throat. We let her off the leash and off she ran, playing around with other dogs, sharing toys and kisses, it was unbelievable. After being told SO MANY times that our dog will not be able to go to dog parks and then to see her just being a puppy and playing was such a great feeling. Thank you Sheena!!!!!

I can not say enough about how AWESOME Sheena is when it comes to training your dog. We have a Cane Corso and she is the best. I love her climb command. Several times I have had a contractor or someone come in and they had no ideal she was even there. One guy asked me if she was real because she had been so still and quiet. I can have a house full of kids running around and if I put her in a down command or climb she never leaves that command. I never knew how great it is to have a well behaved dog. Shenzi walks so well on her leash heeling perfectly. If you are having any issue with your dog or need any kind of training. I highly recommend Sheena. I took Shenzi in to be groomed at a pet store and everyone in there was complimenting on how well behaved she is. The owner wanted to know who my trainer was so she could send some of her clients to her. No matter where we go I always get compliments on her behavior. Puptown did a great job in training our dog, and provided retraining at our home and through boarding, when we took 2 trips after his initial training with them.I would highly recommend them for the training they provide - top notch. Just keep your expectations lower when boarding with them for retraining.I also give them great credit for replacing the training collar we received from them when it failed on us - I did not expect them to replace the collar, and this was an appreciated surprise.I would strongly recommend ironing out the logistical arrangements with them, and get a clear understanding of the drop off and pickup expectations.Unfortunately our recent boarding experience was not completely satisfactory for us because of logistics - there was confusion at dropoff (they had offered dropoff/pickup at a nearby vet, but apparently are discontinuing that option) which delayed our dropoff, and the vet lost our dogs bordetella shot record (which we had performed there just a couple of months before). On pickup, there was again confusion where we had to travel to their (normal) training site for pickup and not the nearby vet as we had expected (with notification only after we arrived at the vet), which was difficult to find using GPS. Apparently they also did not receive the food we packed for our dog from the vet. And they lost our retractable leash, which was just the icing on the cake for this boarding.
