My regular eye doc referred me to Retina Vitreous since my retina was about to detach..( I thought my poor vision was due to a cataract). I went to their website to check out specialists for my condition. I chose Dr Emmanuel Chang. One of the best decisions I have made in my 72 years. Made an appointment for the Katy office ( he’s there on Tuesdays). The reception, Alex, was so professional and friendly. Also, so is Cynthia…Erica did my eye exam and drops. Then went to SWEET Natalie for the photos. Waited a very few minutes to see Dr Chang. He was spot on in my diagnosis. Laid out a plan for a future surgery, told me the success chances and asked if I had any questions. ( if surgery was not a success, I could possibly go blind in that left eye). I am so glad I put my trust and belief in him. This was Oct 2020. Came through surgery with flying colors. My right eye developed ‘spots and spider webs’, my terms. We were on drops for a few months.. Still had vision like I was looking trough a mesh screen. Had to use a magnifying glass to see out of that right eye. Surgery in April.. You won’t believe. The miracle worker, Dr Chang, changed my visual life. Now, I can read the expiration date on my pill bottles with NO glasses. In short, not very short, he gave me my visual life back. He is too humble to take credit, but Dr. Chang is my hero. And they have the best staff at the surgery center on Gramercy. Grill, the the reception, the Host, the Greeter….is the most positive, gracious human being have ever met. I am so grateful for Retina Vitreous, Dr Chang, Alex, Cynthia, Natalie, Grill and the entire staff.

I am only able to see because of Dr. Khawly and his great staff. I was very lucky that my first doctor referred me to see him. He was not deterred when he examined me and took me on as a patient. I cannot thank them enough for giving me my sight back. Thank you Dr. Khawly and staff!

I have received two injections in my eye over the last 5 weeks from Dr Chang. There has been great improvement to clear the blood in my eye with absolutely no pain or discomfort. For those concerned about receiving the injections, fear not, a normal shot in the arm has a lot more feeling than the injections by Dr Chang! Dr. Holz is great. Before seeing him, I saw another Ophthalmologist who did not diagnose me correctly. Dr. Hold diagnosed me correctly, treated me correctly and I got better. He knows what he is doing. He is also a very nice guy.Im a physician, I taught Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine for 30 years, so I have evaluated a lot of doctors over the years. Dr. Hholz is one of the best.

Dr. Holz was able to diagnose my issue quickly and correctly. The exam and follow up exams all went well, and he and the staff there were all very nice, very professional. I would definitely recommend Retina and Vitreous of Texas to anyone who is having trouble with their eyes.

Dr. Khawly has been my eye doctor for many years. After bad experiencecs with another specialust i was referred to Dr Khawly. The amout of time he has been treating me speaks for itself. Since about 1999. He has greatly restored my vision. I see him every 3 months. I trust his care and his staff.

Our journey with Coat’s Disease has been, in Dr. Chang’s words, “a marathon...not a sprint”. I will never forget our first visit to RETINA & VITREOUS OF TEXAS, in November 2019. After confirming the diagnosis in Amarillo, our ophthalmologist sent us to RVT, to see Dr. Emmanuel Chang, where we were faced with the sobering realization of the urgency and seriousness of Coat’s Disease. Not only was our 10 year old son mostly blind in his left eye, but at stage 4, the possibility of losing his eye became a grim reality. Dr. Chang was honest and informative, and always took time to answer our questions. Although only 10 years old, our son was always addressed as the patient and given the opportunity to speak for himself. Over the course of 14 months, 3 surgeries and 2 laser treatments in the office, he has recovered remarkably well, with his eye intact and and significant restoration of his peripheral vision.What words can possibly do justice to a physician and staff that has saved your child’s eye and his sight? I can only express our heartfelt gratitude for everything they have done for us. Every appointment (even through the COVID pandemic) has been met with courtesy and professionalism, expertise and efficiency, and most importantly, compassion and caring for patients and family. I firmly believe that God performs miracles and I know He led us to RVT and to Dr. Chang and his wonderful staff. We are grateful for our journey and for the positive outcome. Dr. Khawly is an expert in the field of retina and eye care and especially diabetic retinopathy. He’s the only doctor that I’ll trust with my vision. I was referred to him at Retina & Vitreous of Texas in January 2016 and have been a patient since then. He’s shows extreme and attentive care and always looks for ways to improve my vision. When he says that he can get more vision out of my eyes, believe it he will.

I cannot put into words my appreciation for Dr Eric Holz and his staff. Dr Holz has treated me with injections and monitored my retina issues for several years. He cares about his patients. I have been a patient of Dr Khawly’s since 2002. I have had 3 procedures on each of my eyes for torn and detached retinas including major eye surgeries. And I have 20/20 vision in each eye today thanks to Dr Khawly!His staff is wonderful and very good at all they do.

For a year and half i suffered with blurred vision in one eye caused by a translucent floater. My primary optometrist never advised me of a procedure to remove it; only when i went to a second optometrist for another opinion did i learn of RVT and Dr Khawly.Now i see better than ever. Just got chewed out by the receptionist when I showed up 5 minutes early for an appointment. Received multiple texts confirming the appointment , including this morning before I drove 40 minutes to get here. Apparently my voice mail was full so they could not tell me they had to cancel. The receptionist was very upset that my voicemail was full. Did not offer to rebook. Did not apologize for the inaccurate confirmation/reminder texts.

I had an appointment for laser treatment and didn’t inform me anything regarding the cost and It was around 3000.00 $. Front desk staff attitude towards us was so negative. Please do not consult with Dr Immanuel Chang. We asked whether we can meet and discuss regarding the procedure and medications with Dr but before giving a chance started doing all other diagnostic tests which was done 2 weeks ago in Pearland office and billed a copay and charged all procedure fees to insurance as well. Too interested in running their business rather than taking care of patient’s in a humanitarian way.

When we made an appointment for 2:00 and its 3:30 and we are still waiting to see the eye doctor..... Im not impressed. 😠Need to get a better herd handler because thats what we are made to feel like.

Dr. Tzu and team have a well run operation. They are timely, efficient and most importantly informative. They saw us on an emergency basis. They described in great detail the process and procedure which put our minds at ease. I can highly recommend this group.

My wifes vision became severely degraded about 2 weeks ago. We got her an appointment with Dr Tzu and expected to have to wait another week to have her eye repaired. Dr Tzu was able to perform the procedure during the same visit to help her. He and his team were amazing, friendly, and helped her deal with the anxiety of having someone work on your eye. If you have eye issues, go to them! I wouldnt recommend anyone else in the area for retina issues.

I went to Dr Chang for my cataract surgery. He did a great job and completely removed my cataract with complete 20/20 vision restoration. Highly recommend!

I had detached my retina in five place from a bad car accident in 1982.I was supposed to take as much as three surgerys but was done in one and has remained perfect for those 35 years. I was seeing yellow and white lights behind me when I was driving. One of the tell tale signs that something is very wrong. The also took care of my aunt for many years who was diabetic. Excellent care, state of the art equipment, great personable doctors and staff. I would highly recommend them!

This place is great! I had blood clotting in my left eye and had trouble seeing from that eye. Dr Chang took great care of me and knew exactly what had to be done. Because of him, I can now see from my left eye again!

First time here. The staff is not welcoming. None of them greeted me when I walk in and they all look like they hated their jobs. Forgot her name but one of the medical assistant, Lady with red head was very rude. When she did my eye test, she was very aggresive and kept on sighing the whole time like she was mad so I ask her if she was okay because i felt very awkward at that point. Another lady who did my test keep telling me to look a certain way in the machine and followed her instructions but once again she seem very irritated being there. At this point, I wanted to leave here but luckily the doctor Chang was nice. They really need to evaluate and audit the staff like the front desk people and medical assistants because they alll seem rude! !

My experience began 01-06-2016, my Doctor is Dr. Tzu - just simply outstanding. On 01-06-2016, when my wife and I walked in and to the reception desk - we were made to feel very welcome. Then upon being called back to my bed and start the prep for my surgery - again made to feel very welcomed and my wife as well (never being treated as the third party), which she was always acknowledged. My nurse that walked up and during the entire process - just simply WOW!!! - If you choose this group youve made the right choice. And without seeming partial, again my Doctor is amazing. This the best place for Eye Problems !!!!

Awful. One of the worst health care experiences of my life. His assistants were rude. And, the second assistant who came to see me, suddenly got in my face and yelled at me! She was so inappropriate and hostile, I actually feared for my physical safety. I have been a patient of retina and vitreous of texas for years. This doctor was even recommended to me by another doctor there at the clinic. I have multiple eye diseases that are both complicated and rare. I am totally blind in one eye. I left there flabbergasted and scared. To top it off, Dr. Holtz didnt even want to speak to me. Someone needs to figure out what is going on in his practice before someone is hurt one, either physically, emotionally or all of the the above. I wouldnt recommend this man if your life depended on it. His assistants are crazed. And, he has to have major problems himself, to allow his assistants to treat patients this way. And, basically run his practice into the ground.
