Dr Porras was great- He explained all about what the surgery I needed entailed. He was very clear, that if I didnt do the flossing and 3 mos visits that surgery would be for nothing. I needed to hear this. He is very straight forward and I like that :) His office staff is amazing as well. Very kind and helpful . I will look forward to being his patient.

Dr Porras and his team have been keeping my gums healthy and strong for almost 5 years. After initially visiting Dr Porras with several periodontal issues he and his team stabilIzed my gums, which have been healthy and strong since. He and his team are very caring and thorough. His treatments and cleaning are spot on. I highly recommend Dr Porras for your periodontal needs and Clara for cleanings.

This was one the best dental experiences ever. Dr. Porras is very personable and professional. I love the fact that he is very hands-on throughout the entire procedure including the phlebotomy work. Very thorough.

Dr Porras and his team are tremendous. I’m very happy with my time here. I went in for some advanced gum recession and he and his team performed wonderfully. The cleaning is also probably the best I’ve had. Definitely 5/5 stars.

Since visiting here in October, I have received less than quality treatment for the surgery for periodontal disease. They even forgot to put bandages in my mouth after my 1st surgery and I bled profusely when I arrived home. BTW...do NOT SIGN all their documents especially the one for teeth extraction because they will pull teeth they deem that you dont need even if its not an issue. I have been experiencing extreme molar pain since November 2020. I called March 2021 due to an overwhelming pain on upper molar next to an extraction and their response was basically what would you like for us to do about it?. All because I was concerned about there has been NO resolution to my issue since I left there. The receptionist/office manager was very unprofessional and seemed to be more inclined to gas light me (accusations regarding my attitude and tone...whos the BULLY now?) than be helpful to someone in severe pain. She claimed that she tried to help me but by hanging up on a patient (me) is clearly indication of her very poor management and decision making. I have not experienced anything like this before but I will seek another periodontist to take care of my situation. I would strongly advise that you do the same.FOLLOW UP...the only reason I came to Dr Porras was due to my previous periodontist (to whom I was going to since 2015 and LOVED going there) unfortunately had stopped accepting the insurance provider which is common amongst private medical practices. Hence ANOTHER BOGUS LIE from the receptionist/manager who claimed I didnt like my previous periodontist #discredited. BTW...I have made appointment to RETURN to my previous periodontist next week!And NO...I signed the extraction release because it was recommended by their office to do so. Goes to show the unexcusable behavior and bold lies she goes to in an attempt to protect herself from. Alleged bullying is just a deflecting tactic popular nowadays to label a person for whom you disagree with. The receptionist/manager showed little to no patience when the conversation wasnt going her way and was called out on her diverting the main issue. Please stay away from this practice.

I was very nervous to get a spot removed on the inside of my cheek, but all the staff was very caring and made me feel at ease. Dr. Porras told me step by step what he was going to do. I never felt anything and went home with no issues. I highly recommend him.

Just had my first appointment with Dr. Porras regarding an assessment made by my general dentist that I wanted to get a second opinion on. I am beyond glad that I found him! Dr. Porras has a really friendly and calming nature to him. And it is clear that he knows his stuff; he was able to assess me and make me feel comfortable (which is not the norm as far as dentist visits go). Julie, one of the office personnel, was also super knowledgeable and informative! They both made me feel at ease about my dental situation and throughly explained everything to me so I walked away feeling like I had a good handle on next steps. Friendly and professional staff greeted me. The office manager Julie was all smiles and seemed to be running the office in a professional but upbeat manner. As to the services, technician Clara was equally friendly and gave me the best teeth cleaning I ever had! Dr. Porras was friendly and unassuming. Seemed to really know his stuff. I got a very honest opinion and did not feel that I was being “sold” a service that I really did not need. BTW, I saw an M.D. the day before my appointment with Dr. Porras, that other Dr. was perhaps the worst I’d been to. Dr. Porras the best. Highly recommended!

I am so relieved and grateful my Prostodonist referred my to Dr Porras.The moment I walked into his office I felt comfortable with Julie.Dr Porras took the time to explain every detail of my treatment plan to get my gums healthy again for my dental implants.He answered every question were I could understand.He is so very caring and so knowledgeable with his treatment I needed.I had a little surgery to remove the infection ,I only took one pain tablet that evening and never needed another tablet.Dr Porras called me the next morning to see how I was feeling which no other dentist has ever called after my dental procedure..His office staff are just like family now.I am going to finally have the beautiful smile I have always wanted.

I have been to Dr. Porras over the years for implants and he is a great surgeon and I have had very good experiences each time. Also my son once went to him for some work and was told it was unnecessary which told me how honest he is. The staff is fantastic and in a weird way it’s always fun to go there. I highly recommend him for any periodontal work.

Texas Periodontal Associates and by far the best dental proffetionals in this particular field of Dentistry I have had the pleasure of experiencing. I have not seen an oral professionals for over 15 years bc of traumtising past experiences with oral Doctors. Dr. Porras and staff completely changed my view and comfort. The staff and doctor are amazing. Very courteous and polite. The doctor was kind and respectful of his staff . The doctor explained all procedures in laymans terms. The consultant was knowledgeable and reassuring. They are going out of there way to make sure my insurance covers what it should. I am very impressed.

Quite honestly, I didnt know how good Dr. Porras was until I moved away and tried other dentists. It seems very few are familiar with the all-in-four procedure. In fact they seem a bit awed by it. One dentist said it was state of the art, which I did not realize. Im now back with Dr. Porras for proper care of his work. its worth the drive.

I came to this dentist because I heard so many good review about it, but i was wrong. I had the worst experience here. I needed to get surgery and decided to come here for it because I thought they were professionals and would be able to do this with no difficulty. When it was time for me to go back to my appointment, in order to get ready fro the surgery I needed to get sedated so that I wouldnt feel anything during the process of the surgery. Something went wring along the line because I woke up halfway through the procedure, and hear the staff, specially the head dentist complain about how he couldnt do it, and because I was half awake they kept treating me roughly in order to try a second attempt which didnt make sense because i was slowly waking up form the sedation. I had to tell them to just stop the entire thing because I didnt fell safe anymore, I wasnt supposed to wake up in the middle of the surgery, and listening to the head dentist say he didnt want to continue because he didnt feel like he could do it. They definitely did not act like professionals and they kept making up excuses about their failure at their surgery and skills.They did not give me enough medication to keep me asleep for the duration of the surgery. I would not trust this place for more serious dental procedures, they are not prepared as they should be if this is a certified place.

Ive had general dentists compliment the work done here as being impressive. Esp if you have a difficult case, if Dr Porras cant do it, it cant be done. They use sand blasting for cleanings which Ive never seen at other places.

I had a serious issue pop up and Dr. Porras and his staff were very adept at getting me in and getting things taken care of. I had to have a bone graft done and Dr. Porras was so good to explain everything in terms that I understood. Dr. Porras and staff are all very professional yet make the patient feel very comfortable. I would recommend to anyone.

I was greeted by two lovely girls and my paperwork was waiting on me so I quickly filled it out. I wasn’t in the waiting room long at all before the hygentist called me back. The hygentist made me feel comfortable and told me everything she was going to be doing. She made sure I was okay throughout the cleaning and was very gentle. I would recommend anyone here!

Dr Porras was very profesional and friendly as was his staff. My appointment started on time and I didn’t have to wait. The technology is very advanced. Overall I was very pleased with the service I received, highly recommended.

I will give zero stars if I could because this is the worst place Ive been too. First of all the doctor is very rude and not knowledgeable. He doesnt know how to make feel welcome and doesnt explain anything. I was getting crown lengthening done, he didnt even say hi to me during the procedure let alone making me feel welcomed. Doctors supposed to talk to you and take care of you, but he doesnt know anything about that, and that was the reason I was so nervous and couldnt be sedated, and end up paying $600 extra for general anesthesia. Also I had a follow up appointment but found out that my mom diagnosed with cancer so I couldnt make it, and they send me a $35 bill for not showing up. what a joke. Stay as far away as you can from this place.

This is the most unprofessional and worst periodontal I have ever been too. I have never been afraid of anything dental related, but after paying approximately $500 and waking up during my “sedation”, I have anxiety when it comes to things like this. I even gave them another chance, and they made things worst. I came for a graft but after the sedation went wrong, I woke up after being told I was going to be asleep and later told it was just for relaxing, I was screwed over again because my card was charged again without my consent. Even after I was told I was going to be charged at the end. The front desk staff, are rude, they do not let you speak and talk over you. They call in inconvenient times after multiple times of me telling them to call my parents since I am a minor. To top it off, they did not do their job right so I had to get an anesthesiologist and he called me the night before my surgery for information about me because Texas Periodontal hadn’t made him aware of my case. This place in its totality is just not a good place to go. By the way, I did not get anything done. ANYTHING. My gum recession is still at its max, and they will not refund me after they said they would. Stay away from this place.
