Just finished my first visit to Bayou City Smiles and couldn’t be happier! It was squeaky clean, organized and the staff was warm and welcoming. The cleaning was performed by Richard Duong. His gentle technique and excellent sense of humor made the whole experience tolerable and fun. My teeth are squeaky clean and ready for prime time! Definitely coming back in 6 months and I might even floss every day like I promised.

My periodontist referred me to Dr. Corrals dentistry (Bayou City Smiles) years ago, and she is one of the nicest, most competent dentists Ive ever met. She takes care of me and my daughter. The staff is so helpful and caring.This last visit, we met Christian, who was wonderful! He has a great personality and was so good at putting my daughter at ease!

On a Friday after close of business, I had a significant issue with my dental implant - my crown was falling off and my gums infected. I left a message and sent an email, knowing this was the only team that could successfully figure out how to remedy the situation.The scheduling was so fast - they were able to fit me in at 1030 Monday morning. What a relief! Once I got to the office, I was greeted by a familiar faces and was immediately x-rayed and set up for a speedy appointment. My pain was absolutely acknowledged - I saw people literally hustling around the office to get things prepared.The implant design is very rare (it was installed when I was in Boston). So rare that during the first-go-round, Dr. Corral called the manufacturer after checking around in the dental community - no one knows about this type of implant. And I mean no one. Well, she does now - poor thing! In brief, in order to secure a crown to the implant, she has to use a literal mallet and bang the crown onto the implant. Not a particularly innovative design... One in which I am positive no one enjoys the experience.Getting going, we joked about how much time weve spent and how crazy this whole experience has been - which is TRUE! X-rays reassured that the implant itself was not infected - thank GOODNESS. Dr. Corral and team quickly numbed up the very painful area, confirmed I was comfortable with the numbness and the procedure ahead, and proceeded to mallet that bad boy back on! Dr. Corral is so polite - apologizing for the procedure, even though she had no choice in the matter.After the reattachment, the pain started radiating up my top jaw into my nose and face. I hate to admit it but I started crying - I didnt remember it hurting this much. Thankfully, the dental hygienist working with Dr. Corral reapplied the topical numbing treatment and I was quickly sent home with antibiotic and pain management RXs.At the end of my appointment - there was no bill to settle. I was sent home with well wishes and very earnest concern. I felt taken care of and knew the pain would subside and things would be back to normal soon... Literally 24 hours later it was like nothing had happened. Normal was back :) My smile was back.I know reading this saga Im sure you are like - WHY DOCUMENT THIS?! Because the team is AMAZING. This was not the first time this implant has given me problems. There have been a handful of emergency trips over the last few years, all of which the BCS team has cared for and cured with grace and patience.Truly, I am in awe of Dr. Corrals memory, skill, and empathy. So, to her - thank you thank you thank you.I am constantly comforted, calmed, and reassured by the talent and friendly demeanor of the entire office. So, to the staff of BCS - thank you thank you thank you.

My dentist retired and I was overdo for a dental check up, but was really worried about Covid-19. I did go for a check up/cleaning and could not be happier with all the staff at Bayou City Smiles.They have excellent protocols to protect patients and staff. I was seen by Chriszelda and Dr. Peoples and they were both very professional and thorough in explanations. Don’t wait. If you need a dentist, you will be very comfortable in this beautiful clinic l, convenient location and great staff.

Tu, the Hygienist was amazing. He took the time to educate me on oral hygiene. My teeth felt super clean afterwards. Dr.Peoples was great as well. Very friendly , professional staff. My new favorite dental office. I 100% recommend!! :)

I used Bayou City Smiles ( BCS) for a little over 3 years. I was recommended BCS by a friend. The purpose of this review is to help people decide whether or not to use BCS.Bottom line, I quit using these guys because I had a bad experience with both dentists. I simply do not trust that these people have my best interest at heart. I gave BCS 1 star for this reason. However, that does NOT mean they are NOT good at what they do. These guys are great at filling cavities, and they appear to be very nice people. I had over 7 fillings during my 3 years at BCS. The problem is, these people prioritize profits over your heath and well-being. Here is my recommendation.....You should 100% use BCS if:*You only need routine cleanings and a couple fillingsYou should choose another dental office if:*You need extensive dental work (4 or more fillings)I hope this helps!

Not only was everyone there exceptionally kind, they were very safe and secure. Honestly, they have better Covid safety measures than anywhere Ive been. I had a canker sore cauterized, which was so painful but they made the process as enjoyable as they could and I appreciated it. Hope to make them my regular dentist!

Bayou City Smiles is a special place. Truly.Dr. Corral is an amazing dentist and a special human being. She has a wonderful bedside manner and really knows her stuff. Im not an easy patient and Id probably some say I am one of her worst just because I am so scared of the dentist and my teeth are hyper sensitive. However, she and her staff - Alyssa and Deborah especially - have such a pleasant, welcoming, and warm attitude about them that puts me at ease. Dr. Corral walks you through everything that she is doing on your teeth while she is doing it. Those crazy scary drilling sounds you here that makes you think you are going to die? She explains what its doing and is constantly checking on you. Afraid of tooth sensitivity to certain procedures? She makes sure you are completely comfortable and numb before touching your teeth.I have had a few emergencies that I needed to go in for, especially after chipping veneers and tooth sensitivity, and Dr. Corral, like the amazing dentist she is, immediately fixed the problem (and took me in last minute!). Her staff, when I have come in completely freaking out because I have an international flight the next day and my chipped veneer is causing me so much pain, is so caring and somehow fits me into Dr. Corrals busy schedule.I found Dr. Corral through my wife who knew I was putting off going to the dentist solely because I was so scared. She came home and told me that Dr. Corral is amazing and really takes her time to make her patients feel comfortable. My wife, who I hate to admit, is almost always right and she couldnt be more on point with her review and glowing recommendation of Dr. Corral.She has a patient in me for life. I feel at ease going to her office. She is a true professional and her entire team is really great. Super nice people who know what they are doing. Their pricing is extremely reasonable and I have never had an issue there.I could not recommend Dr. Corral, Alyssa, Deborah, and her entire team of lovely people any more than I could. Sometimes words dont do a review justice so youll just have to check them out for yourself. You wont regret it!

Do not go to Bayou City Smiles! They did a root canal on the WRONG tooth!! I had a lot of sensitivity to hot and cold on a molar they previously treated. After calling them, they immediately scheduled a root canal. This was my first root canal and I have really bad dentist anxiety, so I chose to be sedated. After waking up from the sedative I remember the doctor saying, This is the second root canal Ive done in the dark. Not sure why the lights were off and why he choose to do that in the dark to begin with. Right after the root canal, I noticed that I was still extremely sensitive, and it hurt to even drink water (same as before the root canal). I called the dentist and they had me come in. I had photos from the previously treated molar that was affecting me and causing me the pain, the molar that I told them numerous times was injured (the one that actually needed the root canal). I also had a photo of the X-ray pre root canal and nothing in the X-ray showed an abscess or that either tooth really needed a root canal but due to the sensitivity I was feeling and the dentists recommendation, it was agreed that a root canal was the best option. I also had a photo of the X-ray post root canal. That X-ray clearly showed that the root canal was performed on a perfectly healthy tooth and NOT the one that I was complaining about. After speaking with the dentist about my frustration, he kept saying that while I was SEDATED, I pointed at the tooth that he performed the root canal on and not the one that was actually bothering me (right next to it). At this same visit, he did a cold sensitivity test and in fact still has terrible pain on the infected tooth. I asked him if he completed this test before he started the root canal and he said NO. He said the only test he completed was checking my bite to see if it hurt when I bit down. Please note, I never complained about pain when biting, only complained about sensitivity to hot and cold. I was sedated when he did the bite check and he tried to tell me that I told him it was hurting when biting and that I pointed at the wrong tooth. He told me that he noticed the tooth he did the root canal on had a fracture inside the tooth (but wouldnt show me the X-ray that showed this) and that if he didnt do the root canal on that tooth and I were to bite on something hard that I COULD POSSIBLY crack that tooth and it COULD POSSIBLY cause pain. So basically, he did a root canal based on hypotheticals instead of asking the patient or completing any sensitivity tests. No due diligence was done here. This root canal was done completely in the DARK, figuratively and literally. They didnt offer to refund my money or even pay for the root canal that I actually needed. They wouldnt even give me a report of what was completed unless I paid them $125! I asked for a receipt of what I paid for which they provided, but then asked for it back because the description on one of the charges was incorrect so they gave me the revised receipt however they REFUSED to give me the original receipt, saying it needed to be destroyed. I even told them they could add wording on the original receipt that stated the invoice was incorrect, but they wouldnt even do that. This was absolute negligence and due diligence was not completed as it should have been.

Kate is amazing! This is the first time my teeth do not hurt AFTER a cleaning. Kate has these magic hands that clean throughly and yet softly. Definitely recommending the team @ bayou city smiles to everyone.

First tooth extraction.I was scared but Marcus explained the procedure step by step and I was amazed & suprised. The next day I woke up with NO PAIN. WOWIf you are looking for a dentist in the Houston area I strongly suggest you try Bayou City Smiles. The staff is friendly and all the dentist are highly skilled. They really help you to put your mind at ease and thats helpful if you are a big chicken about going to the dentist like me.

Dr. Reyes is AMAZING!! He did an excellent job with a root canal for tooth #20. He also has a wonderful personality that makes you feel relax and comfortable. He is also extremely funny so it gives you a safe feeling. He is the best in his work. He explained every step while he was working with my tooth and answered all my questions. I’ve been a patient of Bayou City Smiles and Dr. Guzman since May of 2010 and couldn’t see myself going anyplace else. Nine years later they aren’t just my dentist, they are truly family with every bi-annual appointment becoming an exciting reunion to catching up. The staff has grown and others have moved on over the years; however, the kind, friendly, and professional atmosphere have remained consistent. The staff and the Dr. have been-instrumental in ensuring I reach my oral health goals either through referrals or treatment plans. Speaking of referrals, Dr. Guzman himself has gone the extra mile to ensure as his patient; I receive the same level of friendliness and professionalism I would expect from his own office

My dental examination at Bayou City Smiles was by far the most thorough exam I have ever had. They took X-rays and photos of every single tooth, as well as detailed measurements. After the cleaning was finished, Dr. Corral examined my teeth and showed me the photos of each one. She took the time to explain in detail what was going on with each tooth and how best to prevent wear on the enamel. Great dentist, no complaints.

I have been coming to Bayou City Smiles for the better part of almost 10 years. I had not had regular dental care before that for almost 20 years. I was ashamed and afraid to go to the dentist after all that time. I am SO glad a colleague encouraged me to see Dr DeGuzman and his incredible hygienists! No shame, total support, incredible care! Very clear about what needed to be done, why, when, any options, and how much insurance will cover etc. Always warm and positive, and really excellent care. I have referred many friends who are now regulars too. My mouth has been totally rehabilitated - and this makes me feel both healthy and really good about myself. I have years of experience to say: I cannot imagine a better dental experience. I am so blessed to have found Bayou City Smiles.

My husband and I have been going to BCS for a few years now and weve been to a lot of dentists over the years, and BCS is the best so far. My husband has had two crowns made IN OFFICE while he underwent a root-canal, allowing him to complete the whole process in ONE visit. They always provide exceptional service and care and are happy to discuss and address everything from minor cosmetic dentistry to root canals. All of the hygienists are nice and professional and Dr. Guzman and Dr. Corral are top notch. Finally, and most importantly, the offices, exam areas and equipment are all very clean and the chairs are super comfortable. Highly recommend using them!

I recently had several resin fillings placed by Dr. Corral over three visits to address some flossing cavities & older fillings that had developed cavities underneath them over the years. This was my second opinion for these issues & thankfully they could fix my cavities with fillings, instead of needing to root canals/crowns as was suggested by my previous dentist.I found the office & equipment to be very clean, organized, & modern, the staff was very friendly, professional & took time to explain or address any questions. I was always seen promptly on arrival. The treatments themselves were nearly painless, completed quickly, with very good cosmetic results. Highly recommend.

Dr. Marcus de Guzman is the best dentist. He demonstrates compassion and professionalism. He takes his time to explain everything and always ensures that I am comfortable. I no longer require sedatives or anxiolytics for my dentophobia. He is that good.

Ive been coming for years and both doctors provide excellent care as well as all the staff!!! Theyre also so friendly with my children which means so much to me. I get cleanings done with my two year old on my lap and the whole office just provides such a loving and relaxing atmosphere. My 6 year old also got his filling done here and Dr. DeGuzman is excellent and communicative with him!

When I had to change my appointment due to car issues they were incredibly accommodating and kind, adding me to a wait list for times and days that worked for me. And when I arrived they were exceedingly patient with me as I hadn’t updated my insurance information. The entire staff is always professional, helpful, and kind. The best dentist in Houston! Excellent doctors and staff plus a very convenient location. Have been going here since I moved to Houston back in 2012 and had only good experiences

Love Dr. DeGuzman and I’ve gone here for 8 years give or take (even after moving away from the area). However, post-Covid-19 quarantine, I showed up for my cleaning appointment and I was informed that I was going to be charged $15 extra for office PPE (personal protection equipment). I can only assume this means equipment for them and additional cleaning precautions. If this is the new policy I suggest the office send out a notice along with the other texts and emails reminders they send out. I was told if I didn’t agree, and I did vocalize my discontent with this fee, I could cancel my appointment. Although I didn’t agree, considering I had already driven 25 miles for my appointment I went along with it.I don’t know how many people the office sees on an average day but using simple math 20-30 people per day at $15 per person that’s $300-450 a day for office cleaning and staff protection gear. That’s sounds excessive, and I highly doubt it costs that much each day to supply gear and clean. I also had to sign a waiver acknowledging I could be exposed to and contract the virus during my visit. I would normally understand this waiver given the times; however, given the cost the clients are paying this seems to negate any confidence I have about entering in a clean, sterile, and safe environment. Just to be clear, I do believe the office was clean and safe, Im simply pointing out the oxymoron of this extra fee and the legal waiver is creating.Moral of the story, I think its time for me to find a new office.Update:After this post and likely other client complaints, I did receive an email from the office that the PPE fee has changed from $15 to $5 and that would be receiving a refund for the difference.

Went in today thinking that I was not going to be able to get my deep cleaning all done today but they made sure I was go to go! Chriszelda was absolutley amazing the whole entire time (x-rays, and deep cleaning)! She kept me calm (dentist visit was freaking me out, also why I hadnt been in forever) and she also made sure to let me know everything she was doing or about to do. Absolutely amazing office with a phenomenal team. Really glad I made the decision in setting up an appointment here!

I went to the same dentist my entire life back in NY where I am from and switching to Dr. De Guzman has been absolutely seamless. Hes a professional in every sense of the word and would recommend him to anybody in the Houston area. They have the newest technology (which they use to teach you about your teach) and the staff has been great every time I have been there.

Today was my very first time visiting Bayou City Smiles and I am very pleased. I live right across the street and decided I would check it out so I can just walk there. The front desk was attentive and sweet, but my tech Jennifer was awesome! She was super nice and didnt b.s. her way into my mouth. (that sounds really weird, but its true) I usually get the nitrous with my visits but i didnt let them know in advance so I dealt without it today. I havent been to the dentist in over a year so it sucked, but everyone was super awesome and made me feel really comfortable. The doctor was also a babe and well versed. Everyone knows what they are talking about there and thats important to me. See you in August!

This is the most professional, modern, clean, and organized dentist office that I have ever been to. I had been using a dentist in north Houston that was close to work, but when I broke my front tooth out doing something totally badass I had to look for the best dentist in Houston to fix my money-maker. After extensive research and recommendations from friends I settled on Dr.Guzman at Bayou City Smiles. I absolutely made the right choice. Dr.Guzman fixed my tooth flawlessly, painlessly, and very quickly. After that I decided to make him my dentist. Every visit is well scheduled, the staff takes good care of me, and the office is very, very professional. One of the things I like best is that they do not push procedures on me that I wouldnt even know if I really need or not. Dr.Guzman even has a high def camera to show you your own teeth when he is describing what procedures he is proposing.I cannot recommend this place enough. You only have one set of teeth, let the best and most qualified people take care of them!

I definitely would and have recommended this dental office. I had not been to the dentist in several years due to dentist anxiety, but from my first appointment to my last (with fillings and a root canal in between) my anxiety is gone. Every staff member I have encountered is courteous and professional. They took care to not only address my dental needs but truly make my experience there comfortable and pleasant. BCS office is beautiful and clean, they use the latest equipment, and even have a very cool machine that etches custom crowns in minutes (I was fascinated). I have always hated going to the dentist because they would always work on my teeth without explaining anything, and without taking into consideration my tooth sensitivity. I’m so glad I found this place because they are very friendly and take care of me all the time. The staff there is always helpful, and both Dr. Corral and Dr. de Guzman are the best. Chrizelda the hygienist is amazing and an expert at making patients feel relaxed. My parents and boyfriend also go here and Dr. Corral has been taking care of them as well. I highly recommend this place to everyone, they are the best at what they do!

I have moved a few times in the past few years and finally settled on a dentist close to my office. Since day one, Dr. de Guzman and his staff have done nothing short of wow me on how courteous, detailed, and professional they all are. Ive had terrible experiences in the past at places like castle dental Etc. To the point that I absolutely hated going to the dentist, mostly out of fear... And Im a guy thats covered in scars and tattoos. I dealt with continuous pain daily over this terror. It took going to these guys and seeing how incredibly professional and thorough they were with taking care of my crazy deep tooth pain. I spent too much time reading online about root canals Etc total horror stories that sketched me out even more. I couldnt take it anymore and went in, and Im so glad I did. Dr Nori Kamaya is an artist, hes careful about your comfort the whole way through and the specialists are awesome. If youre like me, stop thinking about it, these guys are awesome!! Everyone is there to help you and it was for once completely painless to the tooth and the wallet. Just do it! Your long term pain isnt worth it. Nori followed up with me multiple times just to make sure I was still comfortable, Ive never had such a good experience on something Thats terrorized me that I look forward to going to the dentist now.

I was recommend to go to Bayou City Smiles for the first time last month by a coworker. Walking in, the place was very nice the people seemed great. The dental hygienist was sweet and asked specific questions while taking a ton of xrays of my teeth. The dentist looked at the xrays, then came in to talk about the findings and clean my teeth. He began going through each xray with me and showing me stuff that I had no idea what he was talking about and the next thing I knew he told me I had SEVEN cavities that needed to be filled ASAP.I was in complete shock! I am someone who goes to the dentist every six months for cleanings and I have NEVER had a true cavity. I realize that a new cavity can form in a matter of 6 months…but SEVEN!! NO WAY!! I told the dentist this was a shock to me since I have no pain, rarely eat/drink sweets and keep up with my teeth all the time, he seemed to not care one bit. I asked him which ones needed to be done first and he couldn’t tell me, he just said they all need to be done within the next week. After 2 hours of sitting in the office and getting nowhere, I just wanted my teeth cleaned so I could leave and get a second opinion but before that I had to get my estimate…they handed me a $1000 estimate (after my insurance) for 7 fillings and a mouth guard!! No thanks.Yesterday I went to consult with a different dentist that I had my xrays sent to, he looked through them and looked at my teeth. He could not find half of the findings they “found” at Bayou City Smile and told me the ones he could see did not need to be done yet.Guess I will keep my $1000 and NEVER go back to Bayou City Smile!
