This credit union is mediocre at best: their website constantly has issues, their systems are slow to update and communication is less that seller. I plan to find a new credit union as soon as possible.

Cant even get an email address correct. And charges you significant fees to pay your loan unless you have a checking account with them. Use any other bank is my recommendation.

The absolute worst experience I have ever had dealing with a bank ever! I have financed 3 vehicles here but the last one was miss handled so bad it costed me 100 points on my credit score. Maurice McShepard was my loan consultant and never finished my paper work properly resulting my loan going to collections! They are too busy going on 2 week vacations and trying to do everything by email. All not wanting to help you in person anymore that results in halfway doing their job. All they can say it was our mistake but you can dispute it with the credit bureaus. I definitely should have went to my other bank once I seen Elizabeth not there anymore (lesson learned). I won’t be back after this loan is done, I promise that.Update: They did reach out to help work through the issues.

I had worried about setting up a business account for weeks and when I got Jin, I asked why had I stressed so horribly. Her enthusiasm, assurance and follow up made it very easy to do business! Mr. cabanas has no follow through. I called and spoke with him a few months ago about sending me a form to cancel my payment protection. I had to call back a month later to request it again because he never sent it. Fast forward to now I called to change my loan from my eccu account to an external bank account. Logically this has two steps: stop the payment from coming from the internal account and make it come from the external account. When we first spoke he said he was going to send me the form to add my external bank account. It wasn’t until I mentioned it that he also sent the document to cancel my internal bank account payment. If I wouldn’t have spoken up, I would have been setting myself up to still get charged internally when my direct deposit never goes there, and potentially also externally. That would lead either to me being double charged or having to pay an overdraft fee. Alas, he sent the forms for both. This was January 26th and my payment comes out on the 16th. It’s February 11th and I had to call to make them actually process the forms. If I wouldn’t have called, Mr. Cabanas would’ve failed to follow through for a SECOND time (completely different issue) and the payment would’ve overdrafted my eccu account because of his negligence. This is peoples money we’re talking about here. It shouldn’t be that every time I call I have to follow up in order for you to do what you say you’re going to do. Do better ECCU!

Applied for a 5k debt consolidation loan to quickly pay remaining small misc accounts on credit report. Denied for that but the rep wanted to offer me an auto loan for less of a finance rate than what Chase offered. I have an exceptional record with Chase but was interested in moving my accounts over to a credit union. Oh! I get it, Energy Capital only cares about THEIR interests. Big debt is big money. My request for small money or to open an account is little gain. I denied their auto loan offer since the reasoning is I cant be trusted with a 5k loan but I can be trusted with a auto loan over 10k. Senseless.

Have you aver just wonder what will happen if the people at this precise bank do not have a job especially the way to treat loyal customers I’ve been a customer for the past four years yesterday went into Just for to get few questions answer,I have Never been so mad in my life like yesterday I was looking in to a new account for my kids and the Teller was you got a leave we are about to close ,up this moment I am so disappointed with the customer service relationship that I have decided to withdraw my savings and close all my account and just move somewhere else where my money is appreciated and I am valuable as a customer.

I called with concerns about my account and the fact the bank does not have a deposit option on their ATM machines for after hours. Kristina was very patient, informative and understanding. She helped me with my account and stated she would sent to her leadership my concerns. After speaking with her she sent me a follow up email and called to ensure me my concerns were addressed. When you call customer service at many companies, you find some representatives to be less than enthusiastic to help you with your request. Energy Capitals customer service personnel were quite the opposite! What a breath of fresh air! My situation required me to call in two separate times to set up access to my online account. Both of the individuals I spoke to, Serena Henry and Adolfo Cabanas, were truly amazing. Each of them were professional, courteous and patient. They both possessed tremendous attitudes which made the experience quite enjoyable. Having been a service business owner in Houston for over 37 years, I know what it takes to hire and train people like Serena and Adolfo. They are the main reasons why Energy Capital Credit Union will grow and prosper in the future! Keep up the good work!

If there was a 0 star rating, Id rate them that in a heartbeat. The staff misinforms their customers all for a sale. Also, if you ever talk to Randy, he is arrogant and disrespectful. He truly give Energy Capital a bad reputation. Energy Capital, the people you hire represent your company and it isnt being represented in a good way. Just recently got a new truck and was very impressed with the customer service my wife and I received. They quickly sent me on my way with what they call a premier check so I could go to the dealership after the credit unions business hours. The warranties they offer are great and for an good price too.When I called to get my account number the customer service rep was very helpful at getting me all the information I needed to set up my payments online. I will also note that the rewards system on debit card transactions are awesome too. Not many banks offer rewards for debit purchases. I highly recommend this credit union to friends and family and will use them for future purchases or loans I will need.

Lot of Fake Reviews on this Site-Heres a Real OneShady and disorganized!! Its a nightmare trying to contact them for anything or to go to the branch. This is a BAD, BAD credit union.One time I asked for electronic pay stubs. I received an attachment through email that was jumbled and difficult to read.Called over the phone in advance asking if they could close out an account on a Saturday. Mentioned it was possible. When I arrived on a Saturday, the manager wasnt there. She didnt bother to come to work that day and told none of the workers at the branch. No one had the capability to close out my account, and they didnt tell me this until after the fact. They told me to come back during the week when a manager was present. Wasted my time that day and this whole incident took over 30 minutes.

Of the many, many, many cars Ive purchased, this by far was the BEST experience Ive ever had working with ECCU and Jessika Cherry. I found her and the CU through a referral that has done repeated business with Jessika. She made it so easy, had FANTASTIC consistent and constant communication and even stayed an hour late to help me buy my car and work with the difficult dealership to ensure I was able to leave w/ the car that evening. Corynn went above and behind to ensure that our auto loan package included everything we wanted with the best possible interest rate. She was honest and straightforward with us the whole time, and it wasn’t a short amount of time either. That was in no way due to the wonderful ladies at Energy Capital Credit Union, the dealership was to blame on that. But, Corynn didn’t let that stop her from helping us get the best deal. We will never go through a dealership for financing another vehicle again. Capitol Credit Union has found themselves some lifelong customers.

Im a new customer to this Credit Union. I opened my account online and went in tou local branch to make a deposit and pick up my debit card. The Branch manager and the teller were so helpful. Needless to say I wasnt informed that the check I was depositing was gonna have a 14 day hold. Im a foster mother and the check was from the state to purchase items for the babies as is the holidays are approaching fast and they need personal items. I spoke with a gentleman and he tells me his manager is saying there is nothing she can do. Had I known upon making the deposit I wouldnt have access to the fund for 14 days I wouldnt have even bothered with making the deposit. If youre looking for a Credit Union dont even waste your time dealing with this one.

The dealership I went to try to charge me a 10% interest rate because they said i was new car buyer. They also told me no one would give me a better rate, when I applied here they gave me a 3% rate, everything was hassle free and I felt like my representative Corynn Rhodes was there for me 24/7 when I needed something. My mother is attempting to close my fathers account who is deceased. This is her third trip because she did not receive all of the information she needed nor timely follow-up from the staff. Even after submitting all of the appropriate paperwork there is an unacceptably long wait time for them to be processed. I would not care to continue patronizing this bank, efficiency, expediency, and customer care are not their strong points.

This is my 3rd time that I have used Energy Capital to refinance a vehicle. It has absolutely been fantastic dealing with them. The process has been both quick and easy. The rates are very competitive to other credit unions also. I would definitely recommend looking into there services for financing or refinancing a vehicle or for any other business that you may be looking for. Corynn was fast, knowledgeable and definitely had my best interests in mind. She had me pre-approved for a motorcycle loan in less than 30 minutes, gave me sound advice on my first new motorcycle loan, which I took and then made a better and frankly happier purchase then I was going to when I walk in. When I decided on the motorcycle I wanted she handled all the paperwork for me and dealt with the dealer, all on a very busy Friday. Which let me walk out the door on a Friday do enjoy my new motorcycle for the weekend, awesome. Im happy with my motorcycle, the loan payments and interest rate. This is my second loan with energy capital and Ive had no problems with fees or making payments in the past 5 years. Their grace period Is bigger than most, which is helpful because Im out of town a lot. Theyve been so much easier to work with then my other big name bank.

I’ve banked with this Credit Union for years. I’ve never had a bad experience and most recently decided to purchase a new car. Not only did the Bank Manager assist me in finding a preferred dealership, he also took the time to explain the process and gave me tips on preparing for dealing with the salesman. Once the deal was made I knew I wanted to finance with the Credit Union and their rates were 1/2 as much as the dealership rates. I worked with Corynn Rhodes and couldn’t have had a better experience. I didnt even have to go into the bank. She handled all the transactions electronically which meant more time for me to enjoy my new vehicle! Thanks Energy Capital Credit Union!

The teller is nice... But can someone explain to me why it is I cant withdrawal my own money. This bank is like 20-25 minutes from my house. I go into the bank to withdrawal my money and they said they cant.. Excuse me! Why not? Thats my money and I am entitled to withdrawal it and how much of it I want when I want. Although Ive had great experiences with all employees my favorite is Maria Rosas. She was the first person I dealt with and she is super helpful and friendly while being very professional. While the location is a bit hard to get to due to all the construction, my husbands experience here was very pleasant. He was very impressed with the assistance Ms. Rieks and Ms. Cranston provided. We were looking into product information regarding a safety deposit box which will require us opening an account with Energy Capital. As Energy Capital is quite a bit closer to our home and the account benefits are better then my current credit union, well be transferring our accounts over soon.

Horrible horrible horrible customer service. All staff always have an attitude. Even when going inside, horrible, eye rolling attitude! Every time! I just sat in the lane waiting 20 mins for a withdrawal! When I pressed the call button to see what the hold up was, the lady (3rd teller) responded with... I just got back from lunch I don’t know what you’re talking about. I said really cause I had to ask for a withdrawal slip first. Then had asked for a balance check prior to telling not the 1st but 2nd teller I was making a withdrawal. I will not ever go to this bank again! EVER!!!!!

Do NOT bank here! Sure the interest rates look compelling but theyll charge you fee on top of fee on top of fee and it will make that 6% interest rate more like 11-13%. Its a scam! Theyll also take days and days to apply your payment to your account so that the interest is accrued for those days! Theyre stealing peoples money!

I wanted to acknowledge one of your employees at the 290 location. Im not yet a member but I was curious about your current CD rates. I was unable to get through over the phone so I decided to visit a branch. I came in around lunch time & I noticed 2 people on the teller line. One person appeared to be in training & the other observing. I stated that I was somewhat rate shopping & that I wanted to speak to someone about what you guys currently offer. The observer introduced herself as Gerasia and she welcomed me into her office to discuss my concerns. Im all about getting the best bang for my buck, so I was definitely willing to listen to what she had to say. The conversation easily transitioned into talk about your latest checking product (which really peaked my interest). I loved that she wasnt pushy nor did she overwhelm me with information; we simply discussed how the products would benefit me and my needs. I also liked how she took time out to speak with me regardless of membership. I havent made a decision just yet, but my conversation with Gerasia truly put things into perspective. I apologize for the lengthy review but you guys truly have a gem on your hands! Gerasia, thank you again & I look forward to speaking with you again soon!

I absolutely adore ECCU due to their low rates and their awesome level of customer service being second to none!!! I got a personal loan with ECCU 3years ago and Liz was able to process it and initiate the fund transfer the same day (not counting the usual 2 to 3 days for my checking account to make the funds available). Last month, my car suddenly stopped working so I needed a car urgently. I again reached out to Liz on Monday and she was able to process a used auto loan with a 4.2% APR when the dealer was offering me a 7% APR. Liz again completed this auto loan the same day, and I was able to walk out with a car the same day that I reached out to Liz. Thank you for your excellent service ECCU and Liz!! :)

This has been the worse banking experience EVER!!!!! I can not seem to grasp why it is so hard for me to get my own damn money or even talk to an actual person on the phone. Going in to one of the Houston locations was an overall ok experience because the teller was nice even though she couldnt answer any of my questions!!

Terrible customer service. They ask you to email documents to a shared email account and every time I have done that, my documents are either lost or do not get actioned. If you call customer service, you will spend a minimum of 15 minutes on hold. Their website is difficult to use as well.

Worst cheating credit union ever!DO NO USE THESE PEOPLE...Been here over 9 years, had a credit card with them for over 5.They changed the payment system and it killed my automated payments.took me 4 months to get it straightened out and in the mean time they sent it to collections.Then they left the account active on their side so when I finally got the automated payments cleared up it paid it made it current.I got a notice of lawsuit a month after it was made current, then when I contacted the bank about it they went oh, it shouldnt have been active, contact the lawfirm and they turned the account off.Now they just ignore my calls or questions. NEVER NEVER EVER go here. SCAM

Worst Customer Service EVER!!!!!I financed a vehicle thru this credit union early April 2018 and it is now June 28 2018. I have been driving on expired temporary plates for 3 months now. I have called several times and talked to many different agents (Kristine) more than once to follow up but I have never gotten a return call or any update from any agent. I can hear them laughing in the back while on the phone It seems like no one cares. They keep saying the the DMV or county but it does not take this long to get plates.

I am a retired ExxonMobil employee and have had my ECCU account for an extremely long time. I was having difficulty setting up my On-Line Banking Account on my Mobil Phone. I went into the Branch Office and Ms Maria Rosas assisted me. She was very persistent and contacted the Help Desk. In addition , the manager , Eric, made suggestions also. We completed the On-Line Banking process and I am sincerely greatful to Ms Maria Rosas for her knowledge, effort and patience!

Worst credit union do not use. Customer service stinks. The management is not management. They should know by looking at the horrible reviews! I now have more to add.. today I sent my contractor in the branch with a check that I had written him: because he was Hispanic before they would cash the check they asked him the following questions:What work he did for meWhat was his ss#What was driver licenses numberI guess you can immigration to their duties now... woe energy capital wow!!!! I have no more use for this place and I will be filing every complaint I can find on this credit union... do us a favor EnergyCapital don’t open your spring branch WE DONT WANT YOU LAZY SORRY business practices in our area of town.... JUST WOW!!!

0 stars if I could!! WHY is it soooo hard to make a payment?!!? When I first started my auto loan, they didnt even have online payment system set up yet- in the year 2016. And calling on to pay over the phone?! Be ready to waste 30 minutes of your time. Today- I keep getting hung up on from the waiting line.
