The cornerstone program saved my sons life. I was a bit confused about how the program worked at first but once I got involved with my son our life’s changed. Having a child in need was what we had. It was out of our control and needed professional help. Cornerstone welcomed our family and helped us get our family back. I highly recommend this program.My son believes in the program so much he is a counselor now for Cornerstone. He is there to help the teens and parents. He understands what your teen is going through since he walked in their shoes.If you do not know how to handle your situation with addiction or mental health give this program a try.I am forever grateful

I had a niece who had some substance abuse issues and Cornerstone was our familys saving grace.She had seen a few other counselors elsewhere, which just didnt work out for her. Cornerstone Team Counseling was an incredible program that helped my daughter and I. The staff was extremely knowledgeable and understood what we were going through. They helped us to understand the struggles of addiction and I learned how to set boundaries in a healthy manner. This 12 Step program helped to springboard me into a healthy way for me to find my own peace and serenity. Cornerstone was a gift that arose from a stressful and scary time in our family. The counselors are fantastic and very committed to the kids.An important part of the program is the parent group (think Al Anon). It is so important to have the support of other parents living through a similar experience. A teenager in a recovery program is not something you can talk candidly with just anyone. The growth and self-discovery are hard to describe and yet so important to the dynamics of the entire family. What started as pain and fear turned into joy and gratitude.

Cornerstone is by far the most effective program that I know of within the Houston market. I had the privilege of attending cornerstone as a teen while struggling with my own self destructive behaviors. What this program has done for not only myself but my family cannot be put in to words. The lessons I learned in this program have allowed me to stay sober as well as be a strong leader within my life and my own family. Very simply, Cornerstone was the only hope I had for my two younger kids after the death of my second child to an overdose. The program provided a place for me to grieve and when I was ready, the staff provided my family with the counseling that was needed to heal. I learned tools with which to regain my self esteem as a parent and how to set healthy boundaries for my household. The kids participated in the IOP program and learned that they were responsible for their choices. They learned new coping skills and were able to maintain lasting sobriety. We both had our own peer groups to lean on for support. We also learned to have fun. Not only with our peers but with each other. This is a life changing program.

Imagine going through a divorce and watching your son spiral out of control shortly after. That was my experience. Finding Cornerstone was a blessing. After trying other recovery groups for a few years and not getting the results we so desperately wanted, we turned to Cornerstone. With the help of counselors and families experiencing what we experienced, we gained many tools to cope. My son continues to struggle but I have learned to live letting go and owning what I mean which was finally achieved. Finding support helped me to not feel so alone in the struggle. You are not alone either. Many families continue to contribute their time and energy to the wonderful program. Eternally grateful!

This program had a huge impact on the person I am today. We brought our son home from Florida with the stark realization that he had a drug problem and we couldn’t control it. He went to a very nice in patient facility with absolutely no change. A coworker suggested Cornerstone Recovery. Our son started attending social activities w Cornerstone and made friends who were seeking sobriety. He had ups and downs including a near fatal overdose. He made the decision at the recommendation of Kirk Campbell to attend the Intensive Out Patient Program. It was here that my son confronted the painful feelings he had avoided feeling for years by using drugs and alcohol. He had buffeted these feelings since he was in 6th grade. He completed the Cornerstone program. Learned high adventure was much more exhilarating than getting high, and he could remember it!I also participated in the parent program at Cornerstone and learned to have a voice, not enable, snd accept that his outcome would have to be his choice. Our son is 8 years sober and is totally independent, married, and happy. I am able to function more calmly and with assertiveness in all situations because of my work in recovery fostered by Cornerstone. This program changed the lives of my whole family. When things took a turn for the worst with my oldest son, we did not know where to turn. Cornerstone was a very positive part in our journey when it came to understanding and parenting our children with emotional and addiction challenges. It wasnt a cure or quick fix for our children but I know they learned from being in the program. Although our children continued to have challenges, the love, support, and education, accountability, understanding, and HOPE that our family recieved helped us to grow. In 2012, we were looking for a recovery program for our son for alcohol and drug addiction. We found Cornerstone when we were desperate and had run out of options and didn’t know where to turn. We will forever be grateful for this program that changed the lives of everyone in our family for the better. The staff is caring and knowledgeable about the problems faced by young people suffering from addiction to self harm to dual diagnosis issues. They provide support for the parents, as well. The teen and parental support they offer varies; from weekly meetings for teens and adults (separately), to group therapy for teens and a group support meeting for parents called Climbers that’s led by a counselor, family and individual counseling sessions and Satellite for teens during the week that is 3 hours of safe and supportive peer hangout time where they can practice recovery skills and get to know each other better while they have fun. My family benefitted from all of these recovery offerings and have become healthier and happier and found healing from the trauma of the family disease of addiction because of them. We found hope and strength through the caring and supportive counselors, staff and other families in the program. Today we are active alumni and are able to share our experience, strength and hope with others in our continued recovery outside of Cornerstone. Because we found this program, we did not get our old lives back, but found a better one that was waiting for us on the other side of despair.

Cornerstone, hands down, changed the entire trajectory of my life. Kirk and the counselors worked intensively with me and my family to give us a new design for living that was desperately needed. This is a program that I know works. It saved my life and I honestly doubt it could have happened with any other group. The counselors are tough, honest, and authentic. I know this from not only going through the program as an adolescent, but also as a former employee. The staff care so much for the families they work with and truly have a passion and gift for what they do.

Cornerstone drastically changed my life by offering me a safe haven to get sober while working on my mental state. I went through there Outpainent program which taught me how to get out of myself and learn honesty ,graduate, self-worth, and selflessness. I also gained amazing life long friendships and an amazing support system which I still have 6 years later. Excellent twelve step program for adolescents battling alcoholism, drug addiction, depression, and many other issues. Parents are heavily involved in their own program as well. Staff is well-trained, very knowledgeable and dedicated to the success of every person who enters the program.

Before Cornerstone I had no hope things would change or get better. Cornerstone gave me and my family tools and showed me there was another way and that gave me hope.

This team of counselors really knows how to address teen/adolescent issues such as, but not limited to, addiction, self harm, depression, low self-esteem, etc. We were referred to Cornerstones APG (alternative peer group), and this entire program of Outreach, 12-step meetings, counseling, out-patient treatment & Adventure Learning training/trips has changed our lives. Addiction made our lives completely unmanageable, and now there is joy, sanity, hope & love we never could have imagined was possible.
