New to the area. New patient appointment, staff was friendly initially and notified of having one dentist. Appointment at 2. Waited an hour for X-rays and dental assistant. Went to use the restroom after being placed back in the lobby to wait for cleaning and while using the restroom, the patient that came an hour after was called for her cleaning and was told got skipped over because of using the restroom (no one said anything, they staff was huddled talking when going to the bathroom). Told to wait another 10 min until teeth could be cleaned….after 20 extra minutes, requested refund which initially was told it would need dentist approval, when not satisfied with that response, refund minus X-rays rendered. Never saw the dentist! Waited 2 hours for X-rays. The kicker is…there were only 2 patients in the waiting room.Will be looking for my insurance bill to insure billed properly. Save your money and go somewhere where they value patients. Came here for two reasons: reviews and dentist. Unfortunately highly disappointed.Update: google review was replied to within 10 minutes…if only they had worked that fast to take care of the 2 patients on the office.. the review would’ve reflected that.

Was charged with a patient responsibility after the fact , I paid almost 300 bucks in deductibles and co pay. I like clarity when I see doctors, if you will bill me for a Code you know that will not be paid by the insurance company , please let me know . Don’t come back two years later saying I owe your office for a code that hasn’t been paid for . that is just terrible. Definitely have to do better.

Dr. Sharel Sly is a great dentist. I found her practice on google. She and her staff were very professional and informative. I had a emergency toothache that needed a root canal. I scheduled online for a appointment later in the week. Her office was nice enough to contact me and move it forward. I will definitely be coming back. 👍🏿

I was coming here as a new patient only to be told when I walked in (not in our calls before my appointment, or listed anywhere in my intake paperwork or online) that they do not accept x-rays from any other dental office because they are unsure of how they were taken, so they wanted to charge me $200 for x-rays, and an additional $50 for fluoride (Ive only ever seen it around $30 at any other dentist Ive been to).The staff did not listen and just kept telling me that x-rays are medically necessary. I understand that X-RAYS are medically necessary! What is not medically necessary is an arbitrary rule for not accepting anyone elses x-rays, nor informing patients of this rule.I left my appointment and wont be back.Edit, to reply to the comment by owner: the information that I provided for my insurance was correct. He called to confirm the SSN and I told him what he had was correct. He stated that the online portal wasnt working, so he had to call my insurance. The issue was not on my end. Further, my insurance information was given when I made the appointment weeks ago. Perhaps your office should validate insurance before THE DAY OF the appointment to ensure that they are able to access/verify it. Lastly, I understand the importance of x-rays, and I understand that policies can vary per office, however what I am upset about is the fact that I was not notified of this policy until the very last minute, especially since this policy is not common practice in dental offices. Ive never had an issue with x-rays being accepted from/to another office before, and if the reasoning is a matter of your system being different/x-rays being illegible, then why was I told it was because you are unsure how they were taken? Your staff was dismissive, and now youre giving contradictory answers. This is terrible customer service all around.Im glad I discovered the hostility and disorganization of this office before I received treatment.

After waiting for about half an hour after my scheduled appointment time, the assistant finally called me in to perform a pre-service evaluation. I explained I only needed a dental cleaning but she said it was necessary to perform some X-rays prior to the service, so they did. When the doctor came to see me, she informed me the assistant would come and explain the evaluation results and final cost. I was told by the assistant that, based on the X-rays, they had to do some additional and very expensive procedures. I explained again I only came for a dental cleaning and would have the other issues taken care of later on. The assistant went to consult with the doctor and, after a long while and with no further explanation, she asked me to leave. The doctor never showed up to explain the situation to me or to communicate their decision of not performing the cleaning service. They charged me the full amount of the cleaning and only performed unrequested imaging. I absolutely do not recommend this place. I lost two hours in this unpleasant experience, and left without having my teeth cleaned. The staff were impolite and the doctor showed to be uncaring towards her patients. Definitely avoid this practice!

If you want to pay for services out of your pocket that your insurance is supposed to cover, come here. I was a new patient here and I was charged $110 for services that I called my insurance about. I was charged for a pano which my insurance informed me that they cover, as well as for flouride, which I was told should be optional which I wasnt given that. I was presented with an outrageous treatment plan which clearly shows that this place is only out to get $$ vs care about the patients. I decided to come here because of the area and look of the office, my co worker also comes here and complained to me of pain from fillings and crowns that was performed on her. Watch out for the prices if you decide to come to this place. Dont be fooled like I was. No response back needed.Update: you seem delusional on having me mixed up with someone else, continue to show how very unprofessional you are as a Dr and leader. Everything spoken in my review is 100% accurate information that even other patients has also spoken of on these reviews. You seem to have alot of drama in your establishment to confuse me with someone else, but thank you for showing everyone how drama goes on at your practice. This is a honest review and this is a business and my opinion counts, if youre unhappy about what is being said than why go into business if you cant accept the good, and the bad truth.

I just got my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday, was not put asleep or given gas upon my request so of course I was nervous BUT I didn’t feel a thing! They numbed me with cream and a few shots. My bottom wisdom teeth were laying down and pushing towards my teeth. If you’re looking for a good dentist, whether for your wisdom or just a good cleaning, Hermann Park Smiles is where you can find that! My experience was great! Crystal was extremely helpful at the front desk and even offered to schedule an appointment with an endodontist I’m being referred to for me. Dr. Sly is down to earth and definitely knows what she’s doing. Karen was awesome too; she even patted my shoulder as Dr. Sly numbed my gums. :) Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend this office to my family and friends. Try them out!

I absolutely loved Dr.Sly. She checked on everything & even took the time to explain to me what’s happening. Even what is wonderful about her that she is sincere. Another dentist that I have experienced would suggest unnecessary odd recommendations and procedures to get more money out of my pockets... Dr.Sly was far from that, and she only performed on my teeth what she thought was clinically needed. My experience with Herman Park smiles was great. I did not expect to be seen that day. I walked in inquiring about been a new patient. Ms Mari ask did I have insurance, I told her yes, she ask for my insurance information I gave it to her. Then she asked if I wanted to be seen that day. I said, sure.Ms. Mari said she, would verify my insurance and I could return and the Dr could see me. All of the staff was very professional. Dr Sly has a great personality and a beautiful office. I only received cleaning and X-rays and exam. Unfortunately I have cavities. I will return on a up date on treatment experience.

Great location; beautiful decor; the dental assistants were super nice and friendly; their services are more expensive than other dentists Ive worked with. They can seem a bit pushy offering services and calling to schedule treatment I finally just had to tell them they called me already and that I had indicated I would call when I was ready to schedule the treatment. I appreciate their efforts to offer quality care but the pushiness is a big turn off; I am currently debating if I stay with them or start looking for another dentist. If they call you to schedule treatment make sure you ask which treatment specifically, you could think you have a dental cleaning and be hit with way more charges for other recommended treatments; I believe patients have a right to refuse treatment or seek treatment elsewhere. I was told the dentists requires all her patients to get the fluoride treatment from her; what if I choose to get it on a toothpaste? Anyway, posh offices; they seem knowledgeable but the pushiness is to much ... it was disappointing because I was looking to support minority or female owned small businesses but may be going back to Castle Dental soon. UPDATE: I changed from two to one star, due to the owners response; theres a difference between reminding and being pushy if clients indicate please do not call and that they will call when they are ready to schedule there is no need to call on a weekly basis; again more expensive than other places but super posh.

The ambiance & dentist are incredibly nice. Unfortunately, when I went in for a routine visit I was told I had 5 cavities. This seemed odd, since I go for a cleaning every 6 months, and I was unaware of any potential issues. This rubbed me the wrong way, since I know there are many practices around town (& the nation) that are incredibly liberal with their determination of a cavity and what needs to be immediately treated. That being said, I voiced my concern and was told that two of them were urgent while the other three they could watch (I was only told this after I disclosed my discomfort with their findings). Long story short, I have since gotten a second opinion with a local dentist (just got back today) and I have no cavities in their professional opinion that need to be treated. I wish I could give this business a raving review, but as you can see none of the facts that I just disclosed can support that.Edit 9/26/19 (Went to a dentist in Greenville, South Carolina today)Today I went to get my teeth cleaned at a place called Progrin Dental in Greenville, South Carolina (the above office I went to was located in Memorial City - Houston, TX), similar to the Memorial City dentist zero issues were identified at my cleaning today. No fillings needed to be retreated. I understand that dentistry is a practice but now two other reputable dentists have looked at my teeth and the results do not match Dr. Slys findings.Edit 9/23/20. Today I went to a cleaning at Koyfman Dental in Orlando, FL. I had not gotten a cleaning done since my 9/26/19 cleaning (see above), since my semi annual cleaning fell during quarantine, and I felt uncomfortable about going. With all of that said, I had NO cavities at my cleaning today. I did have 2 areas that were being watched, but NO CAVITIES. Im still shocked by everything that happened to me when I visited Dr. Slys office during the fall of 2018, and felt that I needed to share that yet again a THIRD DENTIST (totally different area geographically in the United States) has confirmed that I do not have any cavities.

If I could make no stars I would !!! Last week I’ve scheduled a 9am appointment, when I walked in, to my surprise they were already someone in the waiting room. I’ve waited 50 minutes, the 9:45am appointment started to walk in when I was still waiting. The dentist hour opens at 9am so how did I have to wait 50 min??? She scheduled 4 patients at the same time, but I had to leave disappointed as I had to go to work. It’s not ok, she needs to respect her clients’s time.

I had the most pleasurable dental experience wit Dr. Sly. Usually Im shaking like a leaf even before a Dentist touch me. Well as soon as sat in the chair the assistant gave me the remote to the TV and said to make myself comfortable. When Dr. Sly arrived she had the prettiest smile and very delightful bedside manners. I was looking at rhe sitcom Frazier and we chatted about the episode. Then she began my exam, during the exam she still was discussing some of her Ole time sitcoms on Nick at night, I smiled. I am so amazed at her touch and professional skills because no Dentist on this side of Heaven has ever had me that comfortable without giving me a sedative. Dr. Sly has blessed and anointing hands as a Dentist. She gave me her expert opinion on how I should proceed with my dental needs and gave me a recommendation of a Dentist to follow up with in Dallas. Yes thats right I went all the way to Houston to get Dr. Sharel S Slys expert dental opinion on my dental care and it was worth the trip. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr. Sharel S Sly, DDS. May she continue to be blessed and highly favored in Christ Jesus 😇

Update) it wasnt my insurance you had trouble. now you guys are just making stuff up.and please stop the calls I dont want to go back here.Additional updates)I only write about bad one i want ppl to avoid place i had bad experience in.But about HIDDEN fee “any fee that clients doesn’t know about it and get it applied on during procedure and gets charge for it”It doesnt have to be hidden somewhere... whatever service that is going to be clear and mention before its applied on and charge and gets agreement by client but it wasnt the case for me.Floride was one thing (I didnt know about this until check out to pay for it) all of sudden yall hit me with “oh everybody does it” and some service yall told me should be covered, yet i got a bill back for me. Yall told me if should be covered yet if you get a bill for it... well its gonna be unpleasant.
