Tabitha Cantu is the Best hairstylist in Houston! I have a lot of hair and it is so hard to manage and Tabitha was able to do wonders for me! I only trust Tabitha to do my haircuts and hairstyle for an important event or just for the day! Highly recommended! Make sure to call ahead for a consultation with her and book your appointment! She always makes you feel special and she knows her stuff!

Best experience I’ve had in a hair salon! I always struggled to find the right hairstylist and I finally found one! I definitely recommend Tabitha Cantu. She cares a lot about her clients and she is very knowledgeable about all different types of hairs and things you can do to improve your look! The studio is a drive from my home. It is well worth the drive and a trip I really look forward to. I have very curly coils hair. It absorbs color differently and requires quite a bit of product for styling. Elizabeth has been my stylist and has spent her own time educating herself on how to best color and style my hair so as not to damage my crazy curls that I love. So thankful to have found someone who is both brave enough to take them on and humble enough to approach them carefully! The salon is beautiful and everyone so warm and inviting.

With all honesty, I am usually not a customer that would write negative reviews. What so ever, I feel like one needs to be written for this salon.I visited the salon earlier this morning. I was charged $50 for a “consultation” fee. Which, I completely thought was unnecessary just for having a conversation with a hairstylist. The hair stylist Elizabeth was unable to do anything to my hair, because of the short amount of time my appointment was scheduled for. However, I was very conflicted with how the color I wanted was unable to do. I have never been to a salon that could not complete the job all at once. Very dissapointed, more after all seeing all these positive reviews about the salon.

This place is located across the street from my old office location. They are a fancy women’s hair salon. However, since it was literally across the street, I started getting my hair cut there. They really do a great job on guy haircuts and also they give free maintenance trims of neck in-between cuts. Also, the owners are straight up good people

I went here for the first time and it was great! I have really thick hair and Bryan did an amazing job cutting it and styling my bangs. It was also super cute inside and really felt like a boutique, luxury experience.

I have been to this salon few times. The management and front desk was never that friendly to begin with … they do cut hair ok and coloring in average level… I don’t think the level of service they provided considered as a premium salon…once I did call and inform them about coming late for my appointment however they either don’t answer or when you get there they refuse to provide the service …that was very impolite …

I have been going to Studio A for years after trying a few very reputable salons around Houston. My hair was fried and I David completely restored it. My hair started looking so good that my husband switched salons a couple of years ago too! He gets his hair done by Jesse who is also an amazing artist. David has built an exceptionally talented team--they do the best hair in Houston, period. Jesse also did my makeup for a professional photo shoot, and they are the best pictures I have taken. To top it all off, David and his team provide such personal attention and they are so kind and supportive of other small businesses and people generally. If only every business was run the way Studio A is! I would give the 10 stars if I could.

March 6, 2020 I got a haircut from Ms. Brandi Roberts, although she was very polite & friendly she lacks experience. She cut my long hair uneven and I pointed it out thrice whilst sitting in the chair. She was unable to even it out properly. I was new to Houston and picked the Salon because the photos looked lovely. Unfortunately, the chair I sat at had one broken bulb and one bulb completing coming out of mirror hanging from a wire and it was by the drinks in a dark area and nothing like their photos online. That evening I verified with friends and family that my hair was indeed not even!I called the following day to have my hair corrected. I was told I must go back to Brandi. I stated if she could not fix it yesterday what makes you think she can fix it today. Mr. David Armendariz,( the owner) refused to fix it and said that I would have to pay for a new haircut if I wanted it fixed by any other person or himself. He is the owner and that his attitude towards clients. Between tip and haircut etc my bill was well over $100. I cannot recommend going to Studio A Salon which treats their clients in this manner. David Armendariz has a lot to learn when it comes to customer service.

David always does such an amazing job on my color and extensions. I love the Hairtalk extensions because they don’t damage my fine hair and I can wear them in a ponytail- which is important to me because I am a personal trainer and my hair is pulled back almost every day. I always leave his salon looking million times better than when I walked in. His staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. There is no where else I would go!

I recommend getting your hair done with Bryan 100%. No only does he work wonders with hair, his bright personality makes the overall expierence at the salon absoltuley fantastic. I have gotten my hair balayage a couple times (cut and blow out as well) with Bryan and everytime I am so excited with the result. I showed him a picture of what I wanted, and he not only matched the photo but added these blond highlights in the front that really complemented my complexion. Bryan and I have had some wondeful conversations about our lives and I always look foward to going back.

I have had an extremely positive experience at this salon every visit for the past 2 years or so since I started booking my haircuts. The staff is always friendly, professional, and go the extra mile to make sure you are comfortable and satisfied. I go to Bryan Mejia for my mens cuts and could not be more pleased with the service received. Even during Covid and everything else going on in the world, this salon is like an oasis to get away and focus on yourself for a few minutes.

I colored my hair in this salon. I chose this salon based on the great reviews, however after three hours and paying 450$ the result was actually vey bad. I showed three picture and told him what I want but he couldn’t deliver the job. All I can say I HATE THE COLOR OF MY HAIR. Unfortunately I have paid a lot of money for it and have to live with this awful hair color for a while . I tried to be nice and didn’t say anything to the hair stylists when he finished with my hair . I am also not going to say which stylist worked on my hair; I am sure he knows it. I am hoping that he reads this message and pays more attention to what costumers ask for and try to satisfy the next costumers. I will never go back to this salon ever again.

My experience with them was awful. I was a bridesmaid and I did my make up and hair there. The make up artist (Sara) she was not experienced at all. She couldnt even draw a simple eye liner. She tried 4 times to fix the eyeliner and at the end it was not even. She talked too much during the make up and got distracted and the mascara stick went to my eye and ruined all my make up. I kept telling her to clean the mess and she just added more foundation. I went there at 11:30 and cam out at 2:30 for a simple make up and up do hair. It was awful dont go there at all. I was not happy with my make up and I paid a lot. I just came out because I was late for the weeding. Never trust on them.

I’ve been going to this salon for the past 5 years. They always do a great job. I have my primary stylist but have also been seen by a couple of other stylists when my schedule was too tight to wait for an opening and everyone is great. I love the kerastase products that are used.

I have received 2 different hair services at Studio A Salon with Connie & Priscilla. I found both experiences to be extremely professional & enjoyable. When I left, my hair looked & felt healthier. Both professionals were informative & checked in multiple times with me as to how I wanted my hair to look. I left the studio feeling beautiful & cared for. I am from the Boston area & have received services from many top notch stylists & this was by far my best experience!! Kudos to Studio A Salon!!

I saw Bryan for a haircut and face-framing highlights in July. He did a great job chopping 10 inches off but I wasnt totally satisfied with the color of the highlights. I have medium brown hair and the highlights ended up being more of a yellow/brassy tone, which Im not a fan of because it clashes with my olive skin tone. I walked away a bit disappointed with the color after paying $190. I decided to return 3 days later to get a free toner after calling to express my dissatisfaction, which I appreciated. It was during that appointment that I explained to Bryan that I wanted to add a little more highlights and go a bit brighter but ashier. He explained that because the face-framing highlights were more balayage and not actual color (with foils), Id have to come back another time to do that. Fine, was totally ok with that. I got the toner done and scheduled an appointment for the first week of August to get the color. When I arrived for my second session with Bryan, I was a bit nervous because I wasnt sure how things would turn out after the first appointment but I had enough confidence in Bryan to go through with it. He mentioned that after I first came in, so many customers came in asking for the same look (short hair and face-framing highlights) and said they were probably inspired by Dua Lipa. When he said that, I laughed and said that I thought her highlights were too extreme and thats not the look I was going for. I provided a picture of the look I wanted to achieve but the end result was not what I was expecting. I didnt want to hurt his feelings by asking him to redo it after sitting there for over 3 hours. I felt I looked like Dua Lipa :(. After paying $230, I left dissatisfied again.I thought I could maybe live with the color until I saw some friends the following weekend (who are loyal Studio A customers) and they recommended I go back to get a color correction immediately. I called the studio and explained my situation and they said I would be able to come in for a free color correction with the same stylist. I would be charged the full-service fee if I saw a different stylist. I scheduled the appointment to get it corrected with Bryan. The next day, the studio notified me that because it had been too long since my last appointment (9 days), the service wouldnt be considered a color correction but an additional color service and I would be charged for it ($65-$130). Needless to say, I was disappointed to hear that after I was initially told I wouldnt be charged for the color correction. I tried to negotiate a free toner after providing pics of my hair but to no avail. They said I would be charged $65 for a toner. Mind you, Ive gotten a toner done for much less at other places.After paying $400+, I really expected this studio to be more accommodating. I was willing to work with Bryan again to achieve the desired result. Its my understanding stylists appreciate your honest opinion and the opportunity to correct anything a customer is dissatisfied with because thats how they hone their craft, and in doing so, it prevents customers from leaving a bad review online. He really is a pleasant guy to work with and again, the haircut was great...the color not so much. Albeit, I should have expressed my dissatisfaction sooner rather than later the second time around but I was really hoping Studio A would have been more understanding. At any rate, I wont be returning.

This place is great! I usually just go to a run of the mill place like Great Clips or Sports Clips so this was one of my first experiences with a Salon. My stylist, Dane, took great care of me and was very detailed with my hair. The staff is very friendly and complimentary beverages are provided. Good music, nice location in a luxurious older house right off of Sunset blvd. The owner, David, came by to make sure everything was going OK and I left feeling brand new. The girls up front, Denise and Melli, were very polite and helpful in scheduling my next appointment and any questions that I had as well. Will definitely go back!!

I have been going to Jesse for about a year for hair cuts and styling. Jesse is great at his job and I have always been happy when I leave with how my hair looks. He is very detail oriented and knows styles that will look good with differing facia shapes and hair textures. He is up on current trends and knowledgeable about classic styles as well. I would definitely recommend going to Studio A and also booking with Jesse! On a side note my husband also gets his hair cut by Jesse and has also been happy with the cut and styling.

I spent my first year in Houston trying out many local salons, but Studio A was by far the best! I have been getting my hair cut and colored by Jesse ever since. He is extremely talented, detail oriented, and a pleasant person all around. The rest of the staff is always very warm and welcoming as well. The interior is beautiful, modern, and clean. I can’t say enough good things about this salon!

This is the only salon I ever go to. The staff there is absolutely wonderful. The salon is gorgeous; beautifully decorated. Every time I go, I am wonderfully pampered and walk out with the most beautiful hair. David has an amazing eye for color and his balayage is so natural and beautiful that I only have to have it done every couple months. The grow out is so natural it looks beautiful for months.

My first and last time in this place. first of all, they canceled the appointment I made a month and half prior three times and when I finally showed up, the person who was in charge of my balayage (Jesse) bleached and toned my hair and the color turned good at first but two days later when I took a shower all the colors washed off and I was left with orangish hair. clearly they did not take their when they were bleaching my hair and just sped up the process, otherwise it wouldnt have turned orange. I wasted $250 just for the color to last for two days.

Ive been coming to Studio A Salon since moving to Houston 2 years ago. Love my colorist/stylist Bunmi! She loves and protects my hair as much as I do. Everyone is friendly and sweet. I usually only leave good reviews for places, but this place deserves a less than average review. We called to get my sisters 1st haircut after her brain surgery at MD Anderson. We explained to them she just needs her hair cut so she can recover without worrying about long hair. The stylist used her shears and made 3 cuts and left. No shampoo or style, literally 3 snips of the shears. We were there for 10mins max and that included wait time. They charged me $67 like she got a full cut. My other family that was with me was furious. They went back in to have them lower the price and the owner got involved, he didn’t want to help out at all with the price. Now I understand they cut her hair but for a girl that’s sick with cancer that’s not the time to charger full price. Whatever happened to charitable business or people. Long story I had to dispute the charge in my card and got the money back. I’d never refer another person to this place. If they owner wasn’t there it would have made some sense. I now understand the need for a quality salon in my life. I started coming to Studio A Salon about a year ago now and my hair has never looked or felt better. They pay attention and know exactly what your hair needs!Jesse does a phenomenal job with hair and makeup. When he suggested a classic bob - a hair cut of about 4 inches - I didnt even flinch. I trust him with my haircuts and hair and makeup for photo shoots and theme parties. Definitely recommend!

Got my hair cut and balayaged on separate occasions by Yesenia and was super pleased with the results. I’m very picky and have trouble finding a stylist that actually delivers the results I want. I got precisely what I wanted with both my cut and color. I also really appreciate the transparency with pricing, I was told exactly how much everything would cost before the service. Will definitely be coming back!

My hair was a complete mess until I went to see Bunmi at Studio A Salon. What she did can only be described as magic. Everything about this salon is amazing. The staff is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is world class. This is the best cut and color I have ever had. I will never go anywhere else again!

Went for a hair color appointment and was told the color I wanted could not be done as he did not have enough time. I scheduled my appointment well in advance and because he did not want to take the time, he made excuses and was providing negative feedback. It was the worst salon I have ever been to by far! If you’re looking for professionals and good customer service, I certainly do not recommend this place! After 15 minutes of giving me the run around, they charged me a $50 consultation fee!

Such a great place! Jesse did a balyage on my hair and I completely loved it! He is amazing!! Great customer service, everyone is so nice and make you feel welcomed and comfortable. Highly highly recommend!

I’ve been going to Bunmi @ Studio A Salon for over 3 years. She’s the best hairstylist I’ve ever been to. She’s professional and friendly. My color and cut are always on point. She helps me figure out what works best for me. My hair has never been healthier or looked better.

Ask for Connie if you want the best cut, color and advice!! Haha you’ll feel like you had a talk with your best friend and she will make your hair LOOK and FEEL fabulous! She gave me exactly what I asked for and from now on I will only trust her with my hair! GREAT STYLIST!

Jesse does my hair , he has been for the past 3yrs I absolutely always love it. Im always getting compliments on it as well. His haircuts, color and extensions are always done to perfection. I highly recommend Jesse Gudino 😊

Beautiful salon! Jesse is incredibly talented at what he does. He has been doing balayage and haircuts on me for the past 3 years and I have never disappointed! I have followed him since cosmetology school. You get what you pay for...which is excellent customer service and cut/color. I highly recommend him!

David did a wonderful color to brighten my natural blonde. This was my first time to Studio A and having much reservation finding a new stylist I felt relieved and comfortable immediately with David. The only thing I would not rate highly is the fees, they are a bit overinflated( cut 133, I had a trim not much cut) I speak as a global and international traveler.Fear not my blonde friends, you will be in wonderful hands here. Ive had many strangers ask about where I get my hair done!Sit back and enjoy!

I got a cut and color from Alysse. I needed a trim but am trying to grow my hair out. She was so careful not to cut to much off!! She was so easy going and sweet! My color looks so rich and the blowout was perfect! She also said she does makeup so I will definitely be booking her for all my events.
