Im a convert, Ill be coming to Beauty By Umar from now on. Vanessa did a STELLAR job on my balayage!!! Top-notch work! Im getting married in three weeks and plan to use clip in extensions to achieve my desired look for the big day. I decided to get a balayage so my hair would blend in well with the extensions. I was a little nervous going for such a big color change mere weeks before the wedding. When Vanessa texted me a FULL WEEK before my appointment to request pictures of my hair—in both indoor and outdoor lighting—and pictures of the color I wanted, my nerves quickly subsided. I was clearly in good hands.Vanessa was very thoughtful in her approach. She made sure the color I got would be easy to match with extensions and was careful to trim my hair in a manner that would blend seamlessly with the extensions. She even added in a deep conditioning treatment to ensure my hair wouldnt look over processed in the photos! It was a 4 hour process but it flew by due to the great conversation and friendly staff (the glass of red wine may have helped as well).I highly recommend this salon! Love this salon! Umar is fantastic. I had only seen him once before at his previous salon and when I came to Salon 807 I was very impressed. Its a small, comfortable environment. Trendy, yet laid back ambiance. Since moving to Houston I have had a difficult time finding a salon and stylist who are worth sticking with and I am so happy i have finally found Umar and now Salon 807!I am in love with the way Umar cuts/colors my hair. He takes his time in understanding what you want, offers suggestions and I feel like a million bucks leaving the salon. Umar and Salon 807 highly recommended.

I visited this salon for the first time today, and had such a great experience! First off, the salon is very clean, and I love the way it is decorated. Its a very fun, yet relaxing environment. The staff was all very friendly. I told my stylist, Devon, that I wanted to go platinum, so he started me on that process. Im very happy with the results he got with the first process, and look forward to visiting him again in the future.

A consultation prior to service is done, so the client and stylist are able to express their goals and needs of the service. Special care is taken during each step of the service to guarantee quality in maintaining the integrity of the hair.

I have nothing but praise and joy to express for Umar. I met him when he came to my moms room in Kindred Hospital to brighten her day by giving her a wonderful manicure and pedicure. He was not able to finish, due to time constraints, but he followed her to finish, when she was moved to another facility the next day. He is super talented in what he does, but the best service he offers is kindness, loveliness, and a beautiful spirit that guides his work. Everything that he did for my mom was done with the most gentle and loving gestures. She has been hospitalized for over 3 months, and he made her feel so wonderful. I cannot recommend his services more highly. He is a jewel here in Houston. I plan on going to see him myself!

I believe this place its a scam!!!I bought a living social coupon for $115 haircut, style and highlights, I called the salon to make a appointment to do the service, they refused make the appointment, first of all they want the voucher number so him can redeem the voucher, second they want to SEE MY HAIR, to see IF my hair its qualify for the promotion, then they might or might not make the appointment, they acting like do me a favor when the payment its already in his bank account. If I paid for something and somebody refused to do the service I will go straight to the court filed a lawsuit simple is that, Omar is making foul of the living social/groupon clients, but him will not make foul of me !!!!Living social took one week to refund my money.A good hair style make a ton of money without use a social media to scam people.Groupon or living social does have a bunch of loses looking for someone to scam!!!

I had my hair cut and hair dyed (balayage) by Heather. She was phenomenal. My hair was a reddish color and we went to an ash copper color. She was so meticulously making sure that everything came out looking great. Before she does anything she always asks me what i think and shows me pictures. That was one of the cheapest!!$$ Did get call saying I could return it.$$ Good customer service. Hairdressers interview you in depth. They are all gregarious and friendly. Plan on laughing during your visit. Be sure to specify what you want. Umar was able to get rid of orange tones and unevenness though darker than Id like. $$$$Salon told me there is a 7 day free color correction time. $$ Haircut done very quickly, had to be fixed before I left. Still a bit uneven w some greys.

10 STARS!!! After my hair stylist (who is an INSTRUCTOR for a well known hair product line/school) destroyed my hair, I found this hidden gem of a salon. My hair was an over-processed, fried, broken and two-toned mess. After my consultation, my new stylist, Heather, has been repairing my hair ever since. For my particular situation, she has been using a line called Keratin Complex and it has done wonders. With Heathers knowledge, coloring skills, AMAZING cutting techniques and their phenomenal choice in products....MY HAIR HAS LIFE AGAIN! She has answered every question/concern I have had and I am a customer for life!! The owner, Umar, is so friendly and full of great information as well. He is very particular about the products they promote and his business is always kept in immaculate condition. They service all hair types and did I mention they have a message therapist!!??!! If you are truly seeking a professional, knowledgeable and clean environment do yourself a favor and book an appointment. They will not disappoint! Shout out to UMAR for the hair sticks....I LOVE THEM!

Got a great cut and blowout (which lasted 3 days before I had to wash) from Efrain. Cozy little salon, liked the decor.

Today I feel very disrespected by someone I let do my hair for years and I always continued going to umar. I had an appointment at 4:30 I showed up on time. I got a phone call the day before about my appointment and it was confirmed. Here I am today;I see umar and he speaks and ask to talk to me outside and I agree. He begin his statement with we have a policy on not showing up for appointments and I’m thinking to myself what appointment when I have already discussed the reason why I couldn’t make it to appointments made in 2017!And 2018 in late September when I canceled from the app.At the end of the day I am paying customer. Not a child. Especially a black client.You don’t pull your non black clients outside to talk don’t treat me any different. Pulled me outside like I work at the shop🤔According to umar he felt as if I wasted his time in sep of last year when I canceled from the beauty salon app. It was counted as a no call no show but once again we had discussed the situation. Here we are in 2019!!! And you taking me outside to discuss this bottled up feeling when you could of handled it last year. So this is not about money this about the whole process on how this was done; which was not professional. After going back and forth Umar says, “I would have to pay for last time and this time; which I was fine with up until TONE. You waited till the last min to confront me about this issue and claim it’s because my name was different when I booked the appointment but my number is the same. It shouldn’t matter at all.It all comes down to how you treat people at the end of the day. I paid the money i owned him but I most definitely wasn’t going to stand to be treated like a child over a appointment I canceled last year and we had a discussion about it and how it happened?! You couldve had your money last year. I felt what was done was very childish; instead of just simply handling the situation the right way... which would’ve been in 2018!!!! September 21 I canceled my appointment with umar beauty through the app. When I received The phone call I stated I canceled through the app. It is not my fault your system was not in sync.I wish this salon nothing but success but I refuse to be made a patty because of something that was discussed about last year and you knew about!I am a customer not a child, please never forget this and I hope this shop can grow from this.treat everyone the same no matter what!Like I stated before today when speaking to umar i never canceled to waste your time or to disrespect you but I will not stand for unprofessionalism. I have been searching for a hair stylist in the Montrose/Midtown area for some time, my search is over I found Umar! Not only do I trust him with my hair but he also has a great energy about him. I have recommended him to several of my friends.

This place is a hidden gem. The location is pretty nonndiscript and next to a laundry mat, but dont be deterred. After a long quest to find a trim for under $100 (seriously, so many salons), I finally found the one! Umar is fabulous. I have super straight, thin hair, and he is the ONLY person in my entire salon life that has given me a blowout that lasted more than a few hours. He also gives a great head massage which hello, we all love. The salon offers everything you would expect from a high end salon. This place is the real deal.

Gentlemen, you want Umar to cut your hair!My wife brought me to him and now I come back for a trim whenever she does.They say you should get your hair cut a full week before a job interview to give it a chance to soften up but still look sharp.
