Update: The owner kindly responded to my review, I now understand what happened, will be back there for sure....Thanks, IB.It happened twice that I made a reservation and the hairdresser didn’t show up.The first time I have to call another one of their locations so they got a hold of him and he came to the salon and actually opened.Second time, I even called the day before to confirm the appointment, once I got there 10 minutes before the appointment I asked the very kind employee if she could confirm that the hairdresser will be on time and she called him and she confirmed that the hairdresser was not going to be able to come.

It was the first time I checked out there , Lily did haircut for me , It was great , she is so kind and patient and knows any type of hair how to cut and style , specially my thick and curly hair , Thanks Lily and Michael

Michael was very knowledgeable about cutting my wavy/curly hair, and checked with me throughout the whole process to make sure I was getting the length and style I wanted. Prices are better than other curly-specific salons Ive been to. I will definitely return!

For all my curly hair people please do yourself a favor and come down to this salon! Not only has this been the best experience Ive had with a salon. Everyone was super nice, and my hair has been looking so GOOD. For reference, before I came to get my haircut, I was struggling with maintaining frizz, and my hair was starting to get very loose (especially at the top). I went to Michael because of all the good reviews I saw, and it was totally worth it. My hair went from looking all dried out, frizzy, to voluminous, and well defined! He gave me really good advice on how to do my hair, and was able to maintain my length as well. He was super nice and made sure I was comfortable. Anyway Im sooo happy to get my curls back and Ill come back here again! (p.s get a deep conditioning treatment too, my hair really loved it)

In my experience I will go to this salon for color and hair cut with Michael and will save in styling and other services to go elsewhere.The overall experience does not match the price of the service. Hair cut and color were really good. Styling and waxing were not. The space is too crowded that I was moving between chairs and multiple people worked on my hair to optimize their time. Not all of them were trained to the same level. I paid more than 400dls and my hair didnt reflect that when I left. I have gone to blow bars were girls are better trained and for under 100 dls my hair style looks perfect. Eyebrow waxing was horrible experience. The girl just strip all my eyebrows to leave it really thin to match whatever she thought looks good on her instead of actually mapping it with the symmetry of my face. There is not actual space dedicated to waxing, it was done in a improvised corner with people walking around and multiple blow-dries going on. So my eyebrows were super thin and uneven. Worse eyebrows work ever.Michael is really good with color and hair cuts. He is too busy with multiple clients. The rest of the staff is not at his same skill level. Some of them maybe but the girl that did my eyebrows and styled my hair wasnt.

Michael was very informative and new how to treat my curls. I went home with a whole new look. He is a MIRACLE WORKER. Amazing amazing amazing!!!!!! Before and After! Great work!

Love this salon! Michael and his team always excede my expectations. From Brazilian blowouts to hair coloring they are the best at what they do and only use the best products, Aveda... They are knowledgeable and courteous. Highly recommend them.

I went in feeling so nervous as I had gone to another salon and they chopped half of my hair off! But Michael and his staff were so patient, answered my 1000+ questions about hair color and curly hair care, and really relieved my anxiety when it came to trimming and coloring . It was my very first time coloring hair and Michael made sure it was super subtle partial highlights like I wanted so that I can come back and add more if Id like. He also educated me on styling curls properly and what products I can use to enhance my hair. His entire team stayed until 7:38 for me even though they close at 7:00 and he was so kind! I cannot thank them enough, I am beyond satisfied with my hair! I will definitely return here and Im definitely telling friends and family.

My children and I have had a few haircuts with Michael and the price kept changing, so today before my childrens haircuts I made sure to clarify pricing. Well, Michael must of not liked that, because when I came home I noticed this on my childs hair. Who does this to a child? Unbelievable.

I have known Michael Saldana for 13 years. He has been cutting my hair that long. He runs a great salon, and he is a great person too. Michael was kind enough to introduce me to my wife. I am not saying he can always work magic like that, but he can when it comes to a good haircut for sure.

Quoted... Twice wanted to charge double. Refused to do what I wanted bc said my hair would fall out. Well...got it done MY way (as I KNOW MY hair...been bleaching/coloring etc since 13... Im nearly 40). Two stars bc they were not rude but wasted my time waiting on my appt... Canceled and rushed thru my busy day to make it on time... Had they been honest on quotes and not try and convince me of something I was adamant AND correct about Id prob give it 3... But I dont recommend unless you want to spend a lot of money and want someone to pick your look.

My ideal place for a haircut in Houston. Everyone there is talented and detail-oriented; Ive never walked away feeling unhappy with my haircut. Shampoo and hot towel (with a really pleasant essential oil scalp/temple massage) is included. Although my favorite is Kat (who is great to talk to and absolutely meticulous with her cuts), Ive had great cuts by most of the stylists there over the past several years. Highly recommend.

Really cute place, but I asked for my hair to fall just below my shoulder and she gave me a bob. :( I have to take my glasses off when getting my haircut so I couldn’t see what happened until way to late. It’s too short now for me to put it in my favorite hairstyle.

Great salon!! My fiance and I have been going here for almost two years and we both love it! Michael is amazing, and I started seeing Natalia who I booked to cut off 11 inches for a new short hair style - she did a fantastic job cutting my hair exactly how I wanted it and I love it!I also ventured out to dye my hair lighter for the first time, and after it didnt come out looking like I expected and I gave it a day to see if it would grow on me but didnt, I called the next day and they made time to fit me in, got me all fixed up, and refunded me for the everything! Such great customer service and care!! I wont go anywhere else!!

I asked for a trim. Michael did something different. Not bad but not what I asked for. I prefer when they ask you BEFORE they cut your hair if they decide to do something different that what you asked for.

The service was great. Parking was very limited. My only issue is that the stylist (Michael) thinned out my hair with the thinning scissors, didnt ask me simply did it by the time I realized what he was doing it was too late.I grew my hair for years so it would be healthy & thick, I actually have thin hair. there was no reason for him to be thinning anything. He simply got scissor happy. 😩 It was out of line, now, Im back to square one! 😤

This is definitely a go-to for top notch pampering! I always get exactly what I ask for, and their beauty product selection is not bad either. Mostly Aveda stuff, but they have a vast variety. I have yet to hop in for makeup or manicure; so far Ive only gotten hair cuts and color. My fiancee goes with me and absolutely loves it.

Love Michael Saldana salon. Because my hairdresser Natallia is awesome and skilled (with both scissors and razor) but also because it is an Aveda salon and, besides the fact they use their products, you get a scalp massage and relaxing oil during shampoo, perfect to relax at the end of a stressful week or day.

I recently visited Michael Saldaña Salon in Midtown – and loved it! I had seen it, heard about it but had never been. I happen to go in on a Friday w/out an appt. expecting to just talk to the front reception about “who” in the salon would best fit what I was looking for in a cut. Basically expecting the reception desk to simply give me a quick “resume” of all the stylists. To my surprise …when the reception person told Michael (the owner) that I was ‘inquiring’ -- Michael himself took the time to sit me down in his chair, visit with me for about 5 min on what he would do to my hair. That alone impressed me because I did not expect this at all. He was in the middle of clients but took 5 min to talk to me.I made an appt for the following week with Michael to cut my hair. AND IT WAS THE BEST HAIR CUT I have ever had!!! I have lived in Houston for many years and been to numerous salons and either got someone who could “layer” my hair but couldn’t do bangs, or I got someone who could cut bangs but then thinned my hair too much – since my hair is thick. I would never get a cut that I considered was a good one ‘all around’. Until I came to Michael Saldaña Salon – I was so impressed with Michael that I called his salon and told the reception desk to please let him know how happy I was with my style. You know you got a good cut when a few days have passed and you wash your hair at home and style it yourself -- and it still looks good!I love you Michael – and thank you for making my hair fabulous again! I was really giving up on hair stylists but glad I came to see you!!
