This salon is so amazing for the best blow out and color in the city! They are family-oriented and have a spirit-filled environment. I and my daughters have frequented their services for over 7 years. Alll (Josie, Jarissa, Juana, Mary) the stylist have “the touch” to make your hair move and shine! AMAZING! I have not been to a hair salon in over 10 years. My hair is 4c and natural. They took time to explain the services while doing my hair (they could tell I was nervous) washed, conditioned, trimmed and blow dry. Forgot to take before pictures. They worked some magic. My hair looks great.

Did a good job on my hair, but didnt listen to what I wanted. I have naturally curly hair and wanted them to enhance the curls. They on the other hand straightened my hair with one of their natural products and now Im try to figure out what to do with it. 🙄 Hope they learn to listen to there customers.

If I could give more stars I would! Love love love this place. They care about the health of your hair and use good quality products. Its a busy place but I understand why. The salon is a nice environment and clean and the ladies are friendly.

The ladies at this salon are amazing and as soon as I walked in I felt very comfortable. Very clean and they even had coffee/snacks 😊. I was amazed at some of the customers before & after and that’s when I knew I found my new stylist. My blowout & curls lasted about 2 weeks, I didn’t take pics but trust me my hair looked and felt healthy….can’t wait to go back next week.

They do a wonderful job of straightening my naturally curly hair. Their services allow me to keep my hair natural and healthy and wear it straight when I want to. You just have to be prepared to spend an average of 3 hours for services.

I went in to get my hair colored by Ivelise the master colorist and let me tell yall she definitely did her thing my hair color came out exactly how i wanted it she is amazing and highly recommended she actually took her time to research and put together colors to make my perfect shade. And Juana my stylist did an amazing job on styling my hair and teaching me on how to keep it up.this was my first time here but i will definitely be back. Thank you JC beauty.

Update: so it got humid and my hair got frizzy after about 5 days. Which is great considering I hadn’t had my hair straight in years. Even with working out and it raining it was still nice. Bonus my curls reverted back when I washed it, without a problem, which I was really scared of. :My experience was great. They were all very sweet. I hadn’t had my hair done in years, like almost a decade. And I was terrified of letting anyone in my head. They are educated on hair and care about it. Naturals welcome! Jaritza took care of me and my hair looks great. She trimmed my ends while keeping the integrity of my length and gave me some quality tips on upkeep. I’m definitely coming back. If you’re like me and are looking all over for a good blow out this is the place to go.

I have natural hair. MARY was able to get my hair straight, its looks really good. I made an appointment, it still took 4 hours. Thats the only downfall. Other than being there for hours, no complaint. Looks as if my hair wont frizz for a good 2 weeks minimum.

If you are looking for an in an out salon this is not the place... Im Latin with curly frizzy hair and if you are Latin and or black with difficult hair... Come and see these woman.. They are old school rollers first then hair dryer then the flat iron.. Trust me your hair will grow!!!If you have black hair... Curly hair... Kinky hair... And you want to leave it natural... Come to these woman it took me 11 yrs to find them!!!! But the process will take a couple of hrs... Youll be amazed how healthy your hair will be!!!!!

This is an amazing salon with a phenomenally kind and talented staff. The stylists are mostly sisters who love what they do and care about their customers as well as the health of their hair.I have come here since they were located on 529 and my stylist is Juana, however they are all amazing. I like the way my hair turned out. My stylist is very talented and skilled! No denying that! But I’ve never spent 90 on a blowout. I legit had a wash, conditioner, trim and blowout. With hair that’s not even shoulder length. The prices are way too high! Both times I’ve been, I had to wait an hour to even get started when I arrived on time. Will not be returning. On the website says nothing about having to print off a coupon for the birthday special yet I was denied my discount although I showed my ID. So no 20%off as stated on website

Yesssss they got my hair right. I am natural I dont wear a perm and my hair is bone straight.

Ive been going there 2 years never had a problem. All of a sudden Juana becomes money hungry and over charges me. She told me my total price was going to be $50 then charges me $95 in total. Then the person who came for 8 was late. So that put me in up first. However that late appoint finally. Because she was someone from there Spanish culture she puts her in front after she misses her appointment time. She would not have done the same and I spent money with them for 2 years. If you go please be clear of the prices they are money hungry and will play with you on prices especially junana. When I confronted her about this she wanted to play these I didnt tell you games but you suppose to be a woman of God. My sister dealt with Juana for years and told me she was gone do that but I tried to five her the benefit of the doubt. She did exactly what my sister said she would do. Hair wise they are bomb. Customer service wise is poor.

All I can say is: WOW, WOW, WOW! I came in from a bad haircut in Cypress, California to a beautiful cut by the owner of the salon! She literally saved my hair from days in and days out of knots, knots, knots! Recommended highly!

Ive been coming to this salon for a few years now all the way from Spring. My cousin recommended me and had been going for a while and I loved how healthy her hair was. When I started coming, I cut my hair really short and stopped perming my hair & decided to start over and wanted my hair to grow out healthy which it has. This is a Dominican salon so they do Dominican blowouts for the most part. But keep in mind that they also do perms & hair color. There is definitely always a wait for the most part (like most salons) but its worth it. Go in the morning or during the week. I came in during the week at 450 and left around 7 - only 2 hours. There are times Ive been here 4+ hours. But theyve added dryers, more people washing hair etc. and have therefore become more efficient. My hair gets really straight. I havent permed my hair for about 5 years. They encourage you to go natural. Ive always had Juana or Mary do my hair. Even when I moved to Dallas, I would still come here when I came Im town. At one point, I stopped coming for about a year and only did flat irons. You can now tell a difference in my hair as it isnt as healthy but Ive been coming back now to get it back healthy.As people have mentioned, this is owned by a family of Dominican sisters and a few of the stylists are just their friends. Their children are often in the salon. They are big on church and religion. They do talk in Spanish sometimes which may be intimidating or an issue for some. They also have a lot of people that have been coming for a while and come pretty often or are friends of the family so yes, I can understand how people would feel like they have their favorites.

I have been going to them for years. They do an awesome job for an affordable price. But I was recently there for a color and asked for dark violet. I started feeling like I was at the nail salon. I do speak a little Spanish and was talked about in my face in Spanish. Was extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed because they were constantly talking about me the whole time I was there.

Have taken my daughter here, a few times, over the last couple years. Jaritza has been doing her hair, she speaks with her and has been nothing but friendly. I have been treated with nothing but respect, good attitudes and smiles as I sit and wait on my daughter (I am a man by the way).My daughter has always left with a smile on her face and everyone Ive seen in there seems to be happy. You can clearly tell some people have been going here for quite a while and have developed friendships, nothing wrong with that. It is a friendly enviornment. There is quite a bit of Spanish being spoken, does not bother me... especially when theyre talking about my smile 😄

I gave this salon a 2 because of the wait time. The salon implemented an appointment time, when they use to be on a come first bases. They wait times didnt get any better. Now as far as hair is concerned they get a 4 but price they get a 1. The prices have jumped from 35 to the new prices they have now. I had been moving along with the owner since she left Walmart and the Josieis a true hair star.

I love this place! My first time there was a great experience. They are not expensive at all and they do a great job. Like any other salon there is a wait but its worth it. I have been going to Dominicans for awhile and I usually have a headache by the time I leave because they burn me wit the iron or blow-dryer......NOT J C Beauty Salon. I cant remember the name of the woman who did my hair but she did not hurt me at all. I cant wait for this Saturday to get my Mothers Day due.......

My stylist Mary does great work. I started coming in December 2017 with a referral from a coworker. I was cautious about trying something new...for no reason. Sometimes the wait is longer than expected, but I never leave disappointed. My blowout lasts longer than I ever thought, and I love how she actually cares about the conditon of my hair and maintenance..not just making a quick dollar. Their prices are reasonable for salons, again its not someones home, its a nice salon. They have great customer base that appears to repeating customers which speaks volumes to me. I read some comments that shocked me. Yes they sorak in their language with each other, they are family, but to their clients they speak English. They are very polite and caring. A lovely group of professinal ladies providing care and great service, in my eyes. Almost 6 months and I have not been disappointed.

The sisters will hug you and stab you in your back at the same time. Had me hold on the phone, terrible customer service.

Best Dominican blow out in Houston

Professional and treatment like no other salon. My natural curly hair has never held a style until JC beauty salon.

I was referred here by my cousin but I have never had such a horrible experience getting my hair done. The shampoo bowl is supposed to be relaxing, not this time. The woman who shampooed my hair did not comb through it with conditioner or at all! When she applied the conditioner she put it on top of my hair and that was it, no spreading it to the under or inside parts. When they were finally ready to rinse it, the lady missed the whole bowl and the water went down my shirt, but she was too busy talking to notice. She took a wide tooth comb to my 4c, non conditioned hair and only did 6 passes, I counted. She did not squeeze any water from my hair, just told me to sit up as water is running down my back and my face. I go to get the rollers in and shes trying to comb my hair with a small tooth comb. Shes paying no attention to my flinching. Then as shes putting in the clips to hold the rollers, shes stabbing me in the head!! She was so busy talking to the other lady that she couldnt hear it. When she finally stopped talking she apologized for stabbing because she heard it that time. She then proceeds to tell me how my hair is tangled and its probably because I dont do it often. I do my hair EVERYDAY! I even conditioned and detangled before coming in. I will stick to my regular salon.

I am originally from NYC so I know lots about Dominican Salon. I took my daughter to get a wash and set and they told me its starts at 35 and up plus an extra 5 dollars if I wanted regular conditioner or an extra 10 dollars if I wanted deep conditioner(are you serious!!!!) I told the lady I just wanted a blow out since I had already washed my hair, she told me they would have to rewash it and roll it up before they could blow it out, keep in mind it was already nice and bouncy from a fresh wash and roller set. In NYC this would be no problem. I called my mom while at the salon to tell her the rediculous price they wanted to charge for my daughters hair and she agreed that it was ridiculous. One of the stylist overheard me talking and rolled her eyes. Needless to say I left with my daughter and took her home deep conditioned her hair and rolled it myself. Its difficult to find a beauty salon in that part of Houston that cater to black hair but their prices are overboard and uncalled for. They have plenty of business so I dont understand why it is this way. I will be finding some place else.
