So I called at 12noon and they told me to come at 3:30. I’ve been waiting here forever an hour and just got my hair wash .... no one told me when they’re doing my hair.Update: as soon as my cut is half way. I knew she fkedddd up. Look at this “ layered” cut.

We walked into the hair salon asked for a 2 hairs shampoo and styles. They looked at us from head to toes and told us no service here now and gave us a hand waive for exit door. We felt extremely disappointed, discrimination and embarrassment. We dress very clean and very normal looking..there is nothing wrong with picture they looking at when we walked in. We don’t understand why they gave us such an unprofessional attitude ..any service request even for less money or more money should treated the same way and that is what a successful business should be run. I don’t normally take time to do a review but I felt like I should put in a review for this particular case. They ruin my positive mood for this business plaza visit.

Amy and her staff were exceptionally friendly and informative. She suggested that I get a natural balayage without bleach to not damage my hair, and I am so glad I listened to her! She managed to add depth and color to my hair without harsh chemicals, despite it being black beforehand. I highly recommend Amys Salon! Her salon was very clean, and there multiple ladies attentively working on my hair at once. She also offered me complimentary water and snacks, in case I was hungry since it was a long process. I definitely will be coming back! Amy cares a lot about her clients and is competent in her work.

Amy is amazing! She and her staff are very friendly and efficient on top of having great coloring skills. She was able to squeeze me in on the weekend for a highlight correction. I got a terrible dye job from another place that claimed they knew how to do balayage. Amy was able to fix my hair and gave me some great advice on how to take care of my hair. I walked away so happy!!! It looks so much healthier and natural now. Im so glad I went there and Ill definitely keep going back!!

I really hate to leave a not so good review, but felt a little misled by all the stellar 5+ star reviews. Amy herself was a sweet lady and I was really happy to support a Vietnamese business but, the service fell short of expectations. Everywhere I looked, the reviews stated a $26 haircut for women- and even is listed on the service plaque. However I was charged $45 for a simple, straight blunt cut. Not sure why- tho as a courtesy and during these rough Covid times, I didn’t argue. The cut was a little uneven and felt rushed. I had scheduled an appointment prior to showing up, expecting the salon to be somewhat socially distanced but it was very packed, all chairs were being serviced around me.

I went there for highlights (caramel on black). After 8 hours, I left there with fried orange hair with an awful haircut. Oh.... and then, I got blamed by Amy for getting my hair colored a year and half ago by someone else, which she claimed is the reason that I ended up with fried orange hair. Forgot about the 10 lbs chemicals, she used on my hair. I never paid $250 for fried orange hair that took 8 hours. I left there soooo mad wowing to never let anyone touch my hair ever again.

Ladies beware! Theres a 50/50 chance youll end up unhappy with your hair. I wanted so badly to support a Vietnamese owned business but not at the expense of my happiness or wallet. She wasnt very helpful when I expressed my concerns and ended up having to pay another salon to fix my hair. I should have done more research and trusted my gut when I seen this place.

I took my wife here for a hair cut as I heard a lot of people raves about this hair salon. We went here on Thursday noon, expecting the salon would be empty, but nah, its still pretty busy. Amy n her staffs are extremely friendly, so the our impression is great!!!!I left my wife have fun w her hair: she got her hair shampooed, massaged, oil treated, cut, blew dry n finally styled. She was extremely happy w the result, and so was I because her hair looks much more healthy and still amazing. She said Amy n her staffs are all very caring, friendly and professional. She said she would continue have Amy take care of her hair.The only down side is the wait. It was an hour and a half for the whole process because Amy was indeed very careful with every customer, keep checking on their hair even other staffs were working on it. So it was quite a wait!Overall, the experience was 5/5 for my wife and 4.5/5 for me (the wait was long )Highly recommend!!!! Take yo girl her n she will be happy for the rest of the day. Amy Salon is really good for long hair. She knows everything about long hair, especially if you’re interested in hair coloring and curls. Price is a bit high, but surely when you see the result, you’ll think it’s worthy.

I hate leaving bad reviews, this is literally my only bad review but I couldnt let someone else be misled like I was reading these glowing reviews. And the issues were more than could be written off by a bad day. I just moved back here, needed to get my haircut, and really wanted to support a small business. As a Vietnamese woman I was equally thrilled to support a Vietnamese female owned business. I made an appointment ahead of time for my mom and I and when I got there it was like they had no idea who was going to do it. Ive worked at hair salons before and the state of this one was atrocious. There were a few colors happening in the salon but there must be something wrong with the ventilation because the place was REEKING with bleach, my eyes were watering so much. It was to the point that my mom cancelled her appointment and had to sit in the car with my little sister. Mind you this is with the doors wide open and a breeze and it was this bad. I was eventually brought to the back to get my hair washed and was given a literal tattered dish towel behind my neck and no cape. The hair was was very pleasant and I wouldve payed for just that but because I only had a face cloth behind my neck the jacket I had on was soaked through the back, I didnt notice until towards the end when I got up because its thick. I think my hair wash was so long because they still didnt have anyone to do my scheduled cut. I was sat down and waited 15 minutes for Amy herself to come cut my hair. A girl came by and used paddle brush WITH HAIR ALL IN IT, and started brushing my hair it was like a horror movie. There was no disinfectant anywhere. Meanwhile the chair next to me was getting her hair bleached and the work was so shoddy, she was just slapping it on there not saturating the pieces completely and crumpling foils over it. The hair stylist looked like she was in a rush and foils would literally fall to the ground and she would leave them and not replace it. The work station was a wreck there was bleach plopping all around the floor as she slapped it on and her work tray had spilled bleach and trash all over it. Not to mention that the ground throughout the salon was covered with hair. There was no one getting hair cut and plenty of people around to sweep it. The whole place just looked incredibly dirty and I dont understand the reviews who say that it looked sketchy outside but was nice inside. It wasnt there were boxes and trash everywhere the chairs and capes were in really poor condition. If there had been a surprise inspection the entire place wouldve been shut down within 5 minutes. Again, I worked at a salon and am very aware of the standards you are legally required to keep. Eventually Amy came over to cut my hair and at this point I just wanted to get out of there with no damage done so instead of cutting off 3 inches of my layers I just opted for 1. Amy literally just picked up pieces of my hair one by one, snipped them and moved on. No feathering no blending of my layers it looked so blocky and uneven . It took her 6 minutes to cut my hair (I looked at my watch) and 15 to dry and curl it afterwards. The entire time she was doing it she was staring into the mirror watching another service that was happening and shouting across the salon trying to help another hair stylist doing a color who was looking extremely frazzled. At one point Amy stopped curling my hair and went over and helped her for about 5 minutes. Then she had another girl come stand next to her and hand her pieces of hair for her to curl and sent me on my way. The only reason Im giving 2 stars is because of the sweet lady who washed my hair and the fact that it was like $35 for a wash and cut. I still tipped 20% as a courtesy but I left feeling so disappointed and scammed by the good reviews I had read. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I wanted to like it so bad but there were no redeeming qualities, the customer service, the environment, the work, it was all 1 star.

Amy and her staff are always so happy to see us. She fixed my recent bad haircut I got somewhere else. I wish I lived closer to come here all the time. Weekdays are best to come to Amy if you can fit it in your schedule.

I used to dread getting my hair cut cause of how expensive a simple trim has gotten. For womens hair its already a lot, then other stylists would nicely try to get me to buy more products and I hate that pressure. Im so glad I found Amy cause her salon is exactly what a hair cut should be! They are quick, reasonably priced and highly skilled. Ill keep going here regularly and finally be able to give my hair the attention it needs without any stress and without breaking the bank!

Always listen to Amy!! Ive always had dark hair and Amy suggested to add highlights and go a bit lighter. I listened to her and OMG!!! My hair looks amazing!! My husband LOVED it and I cant stop looking at it! On top of that everyone is so sweet and hard working! I love going to this Salon!!

I made an appointment yesterday and came in today with no recommendations, I just saw the good reviews on Google and Yelp. The location is a little sketchy, but the salon itself is nice inside. The lady who washed my hair was very quiet but while she washed it she also massaged my scalp. I could have fallen asleep right there. Amy cut my hair after a consultation and knows exactly what shes doing. Shes very talented. I have fine, long, super straight hair and she knew exactly how to do what I was asking for. Very satisfied with the results. The only thing I didnt love is that the lady who washed my hair also brushed it afterwards with a brush that was clearly used on multiple clients, but I guess thats the price you pay. Speaking of which, they are incredibly reasonably priced. I used to live in a small town and paid the same amount for a haircut there.

They offered a complimentary deep conditioning and took their time to make my hair look good even though I came in for a trim.

Amy and her team were absolutely amazing! They colored and textured my hair wonderfully which mustve been extremely difficult due to its dark pigment. It did take a bit of time, but I feel as though that just showed how much attention to detail this salon has and how important quality is to them. I have a personal preference for darker hair, so when I went back the next day to ask if they could tone it again, they were nothing but welcoming and kind. Its an impressive team and Id recommend Amys salon to anyone if theyd like to get their hair colored or textured.

I had an appointment at 11:30 for a ash blonde balayage. I didnt leave until 4. I showed them a picture from their Instagram. My hair did not turn out the color I asked for and she claimed they used 10 tubes of color when I watched them use 4. Im also a cosmetologist and I know for a fact my hair did not take 10 tubes. In fact when the lady claimed she used 10 the other stylist had to literally ask her to repeat herself because even she was shocked. In the end I paid $290 for balayage that you cant even tell I had done. I just want my time and money back! This doesn’t look at all like $290 hair service. Google won’t let me add the photos but i swear you can’t even see the difference. The parts they lighted are a honey brown

I don’t recommend to go there I think is fake reviews.They burn my hair and awful cut. She couldn’t brush my hair and she said you should accept lightning is not good your hair.

I’ve been going to Amy’s for almost a year now. Her passion for hair is amazing! She will give tons of info on how manage and take care of your hair. I have very thin wavy hair and if someone isn’t careful cutting it can get really bad. Amy knows exactly how to take care of my hair and explains everything along the way.I got my hair colored for the first time by her today. While I was there 2-3 other ladies came in to have Amy fix the mess ups they got at other salons. Amy and her team are hands down some of the best out there. Amy has 30 years of salon experience and you can definitely tell! She has a lifetime customer with me!

Great place for very reasonable price. Got hot oil treatment along with cut and style with same day appointment. Amy was attentive to what I needed and designated multiple stylists to ensure that I am satisfied with my hairdo. Love how my hair turned out. Definitely will be returning.

Favorite hair salon in Houston. Been coming here for 15 years. Both sons got their first haircuts here and this is still where they get the best cut. We live 65 miles from here now but do our best to arrange visits to Houston when it’s haircut time. Appointments highly recommended!

The hair stylist did a great job on my sons hair cut. I showed her a picture of the style and she cut perfectly. The hair cut was only $6, cant beat that deal.

Worst. Haircut. Ever. This place might be good for girls but its completely horrendous for guys. So do not go here if youre a guy. I showed a picture of what I wanted and got something without an ounce of resemblance to it. The fade was wrong, no part in the side, and the top is just a mess. I couldve cut better myself. On top of that, theres a big neon sign saying $5.99 for mens haircuts, yet I was charged $10. Bait and switch? Thats not even all, when I got tried to see if I could fix it myself and found out that the top hairs were uneven, by an inch. Hows that even possible for a professional?

Came here to get haircut and get some highlights and I was blown away by the service and treatment that they offered. Amy did a very great job. I recommend her to anyone who wants a fantastic haircut.

She doesn’t do anything she supposed to do do. Staff doesn’t have a license or not ??? They are very scare to her . She messed up my hair and doesn’t except her mistake. Very rude with customer. I went for highlights and she colored my hair and I told her that’s not highlights. She If you don’t like it. Don’t come she charge me $$$$150 .

My daughter was charged $250 for a cut and dye job. She showed them the picture of what she wanted (blonde) and she definitely didnt get it. She spent 7 hours there and walked out with mostly brown hair and they cut 5 off when she told them 3.We believe it was to hide the damage of the processing and their over-bleaching because she got home and took a shower and her hair ends continue to CRUMBLE in her fingers and hair is falling out!She has contacted Amy hopefully they make this right and I will update if so.This is completely devastating and unacceptable.

Amy hieu does NOT know how to cut hair. It was very choppy and uneven. Since she curled my hair, I didn’t even notice until I washed it out. I went back to get it fixed and she made it worse! Had to find another hair salon and the hair stylist laughed at how horrible my haircut was.

If you respect yourself you will not ever enter in this so called beauty salon. Unprofessional people with the awful lady (manager) called AMY. its cheap but will cost you much more to fix after their haircut.

Horrible experience...went for a root touch up and the lady stained all my highlights. Now my highlights have dark spots all over. They tried to fix it but still looked horrible. Now I have to find another salon to correct this mess. Lesson learned...

Run away! With all of the other choices out there go somewhere where they actually know what they are doing. Surprisingly as an Asian run business they are not competent enough to work with dark hair. Very unprofessional, they initially offered to redo but then claimed that they didnt know how anymore just to waste everyones time will not be back here again and if you value your time, money, & most importantly hair go elsewhere
