I been getting extension for a long time and I have never been so happy with my hair and my stylist. Cristal did an amazing job with my hair and I’m forever thankful. This place was horrible. They talked me in to damage free extensions. 3 months ago. After the first month I was having issues with breakage and the hair falling out. I went back and they said it was normal. 2 more times I went back after that and they ignored my concerns. I finally paid for a blowout to be able to talk with someone about what was happening, I went in and the owner finally offered me a solution with a similar product but suggested I cut my hair and switch to a more expensive extensions. I had already paid 2000.00$ for the extensions that were falling out and damaging my natural hair , I was not going to let them touch me again. The attached photos are of my hair and the extensions they claimed to be damage free.I have never had such poor customer service after an issue or such poor recommendations by a senior stylist and owner of a salon.Stay away from this place.

The salon people were fairly nice, although I had a very difficult time trying to find the shop. The shop was nice and decorated nice. However, overall I’m not satisfied with my hair. I went in wanting a balayage. I have short, dark hair and knew my hair wouldn’t look exactly like the pictures, but I also made sure to pick a picture with short, dark hair so I could have a solid idea and so would the stylist. I ended up with straight up botchy highlights. when she was lightening my hair, I noticed she was going all the way to the roots with the foils, but figured she knew what she was doing, because she even made a comment about the balayage and what makes it look complete/good. Never assume. Not only do I now have highlights that I didn’t want, she messed up my hair cut. She parted my hair wrong while cutting it, the front pieces are longer than the rest (not intentional like a bob) and there’s clearly a section of hair that’s shorter than the rest. Luckily you can only see this when I straighten my hair, and I don’t do that often. I would go somewhere to get this fixed, that that would require cutting more hair off which I don’t want to do (the struggles of trying to grow your hair back out). I won’t be coming back here. I don’t know what the girl was thinking. AND.... I had aGroupon That was also supposed to include styling. Since when was blow drying considered to be “styling”? Every swim I’ve been to when they style you’re hair, they curl or straighten, whatever you’d like really. Just had a weird vibe from this place overall. And this is also why women always have trust issues with hair salons.

My hairstylist is Thomas I’ve been going to him since December. I came in to correct my color and he has been maintaining my beach blonde hair. He always makes sure that I’m happy with the results before leaving. Everyone at the salon is super nice and friendly! I recommend this salon and definitely recommend Thomas.

I haven’t found a stylist since moving back to Houston from Cali & finally found Thomas. I am transitioning from red(natural) to blonde and he helped me to find the best and healthiest way for my hair to do so. He is the first person to actually cut my hair evenly ever as well, as I have combined texture and curl. I expressed my wishes to hide my forehead and had cut my own bangs in desperation, which he fixed amazingly. I’m so happy to have found him and can’t wait to get another color/cut. Disney princess coming at you!

I just moved to Houston from Dallas in February and had not found a stylist before the quarantine. I passed Alanis Salon on a neighborhood walk and made an appt. for 2 weeks after opening again. Thomas did a wonderful job! I wanted to transition from my natural dark brown to blonde after 4 years, and he took the time and attention needed to begin the transition safely and gradually. Very happy with the results, and have already booked my follow-up appointment with Thomas. Great location, great stylist.

This is such a wonderful Salon! You will not regret giving them a try if you havent already. I moved here from phoenix back in November. I blindly purchase a Groupon for Alanis salon. I was so incredibly surprised! The salon is very cute, the staff and owner are very nice and they have stylist that know how to do my hair! If you are of mixed culture or African American dont hesitate to give this salon a try. I have super curly hair and Pam and Celina (back in December ) did a wonderful job with my fizzy curls! I will definitely be going back.

I have been having my hair colored with Rosie for over 13 years. I followed her to Alanis and have been so happy. I have never had a better experience with getting my hair colored. Im an extremely picky client. Rosie is absolutely aware of my needs. She has always met and exceeded all of my needs. I have noticed that there have been several comments that are extremely negative about this salon, and for what reason I cant even imagine. I have told every single person I know to use her services. It is an absolutely beautiful salon that is immaculately clean at all times. They have the best products in town. I love coming here. The staff she has is wonderful. It seems that there have been some very negative reviews on yelp about the salon. Most of these reviews tend to come from ex employees. Personally I look at this as slander because there is nothing negative I could ever say about Rosies salon. Disgruntled staff members saying negative things about an employer on yelp is inexcusable. The quality of cuts, customer service, and color here is beyond amazing.

Maria is the best. She always greets me with a big smile and knows exactly what to do with my curly hair. She makes excellent suggestions and I always leave feeling like a million bucks. Love her! She is sooo patient and a great listener as well. Since we are both bi-lingual, I enjoy the way that we speak Spanglish!

Had to make last minute appointment and the person who I normally go to was on vacation so Courtney colored my hair and did my haircut. I absolutely love it! I couldnt decide whether to keep the blonde or warm red color so I let her surprise me and she did!! She opted for the red and I love it!! I also let her pick the haircut and it all went so well together. Ill definitely recommend her, thank you guys!!

I apologize for the inconvenience I may have caused at this salon. I have reflected on my actions and have come to terms with my mistake. It was never my intention to cause harm to any person and/or business. Taylor is a very caring stylist. She heard my concerns and was more than willing to give me the look I wanted. The receptionist was very helpful and went above and beyond to help me find an appointment that better fit my schedule. In the future I will strive my best to never repeat these mistakes again. I am thankful for the humility the employees of this salon have shown towards me. Thank you for that and my sincere apologies.

Wonderful salon!! I had been debating on getting hair extensions for a while now. Finally came with Rosie to get my Great Lengths extensions and OMG!!! I love them!!! She did an exceptional job and they look and feel so natural. The price was very reasonable and she took her time with me. I will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone thinking about hair extensions.

I got the keratin complex by Celina Munoz, she was attentive and friendly without being overly chatty (for an introvert this is essential when I am trying to do a little self care, I dont appreciate people going on and on when I just need a little quiet); she took her time to wash my hair and complete the treatment and gave me excellent instructions and recommendations for maintenance; my hair feels soft and is super shiny. I will definitely return for more services. The only con is parking is extremely limited.

The afternoon was a pleasure, lots of conversation and laughs. The quality is there, I am really happy with the result.Being a single mother I am not able to visit as often as I would like. Like some other reviewers, I came to this salon because of the Groupon. I needed a new salon after my stylist moved, and I figured, why not?Here’s why not. Because my shoulder-length balayage took 4 hours. Because my hair looks nice, but in a frost-and-tip in the bathroom kind of way. Because it is nothing like I asked for, either in color placement or shade. It’s not that it’s particularly... bad. It’s just not good. I’m hoping it will recover enough to repair before my maid of honor role in October; otherwise, the rest of the wedding party if going to have to get on board with 90s hair.

Bought a Groupon to try something new and had a wonderful experience. Celina was kind, patient, offered helpful advice and recommended product to upkeep my hair. I could tell she was new and the other stylists jumped in to help her with equipment (sometimes with a little bit of attitude, sometimes without), but her technique was on point. I assume they have a tiered system based on experience (so only certain stylists can honor Groupon) but my outcome is fantastic. Celina is a gem. Go for it. No complaints.

Not a salon I will go back again . When I booked my appointment I was asked not buy Groupon and pay $28 at salon, next day when I went to get the hair cut done Groupon price increased by $10. I asked why I pay more if yesterday Groupon was $10 less I should pay that but the owner was like this is what it is!! They claimed did I took screen shot of the price I saw, how will I Dream price will go up in 24 hours!! I felt uncourteous, ok service nothing great and place was not so clean either !! We go salon to feel good not to get more upset after long day!!

There are very obvious reasons why this salon isnt busier and is perpetually offering Groupons. I didnt even have a groupon, and they treated me in a completely disgusting way. The good stylists dont stay, most likely due to the disgusting way that this place is run. I have never had a salon manager come up to me out of nowhere and start yelling and verbally abusing me until I came here. Ive never had a stylist start dying my hair when I never wanted it dyed and then refuse to wash it out! This is the hands down worst salon you could go to. Go anywhere else. I hope that these people seek out the proper mental health help that they need.

I purchased a Groupon and was treated very rudely by the person who set up the appointments and by the manager. First I was told “Groupon “ customers were not scheduled on Saturdays because we are not “full paying” Since I couldn’t get a refund I bit my tongue and scheduled the appointment.I called to verify information right before my appointment and the manager told me I was scheduled with a person that did not accept vouchers, furthermore I was a “repeat” Groupon “person”. I had bought a Groupon 6 months prior.I asked for a refund through Groupon, he gladly gave it to me.

Came here instead of my usual salon because I found a Groupon and figured I might as well try it out. Well... never again. During my hair wash, my stylist probably got half of my shirt wet, and my ears were clogged with water by the end of it. I seriously had never had a worse hair washing experience at a salon before. My haircut was overall ok, but what took up the most time was probably the styling which was basically having my hair blown dry straight. My stylist just kept blow drying the same sections of hair over and over and over and at the end, my whole head was hurting because of my hair being pulled constantly. The only pro this salon has is that the interior looks nice and the receptionist was friendly.

Hair treatment was good but customer service sucks if you have an issue. They are not upfront with prices. A relatively cheap service of a hair trim turned out to be considered the same price as a standard hair cut - $80. The manager refused to give me a refund and instead recieved a $10 credit on next hair cut.

When you go to this place ask for sandra. Shes an amazing hairstylist, i go thru her all the time. She really understands what I want and how I want it and she just feels like family everytime :) so please go check this place out. I promise you wont be disappointed!

I arrived half way into my time because of leaving work late, but the massage was GREAT. I will definitely return and would HIGHLY recommend. The entrance is on the side of the building.

Alanis salon is a gorgeous place with very kind, attentive and talented pros to boot. They really and truly care about your comfort while there, and happiness as you walk out the door.I bought a Groupon for a haircut and color and apparently didnt pick the right option (I needed way more color than I thought). In any event, they still honored the Groupon, gave me exactly what I needed, fed me wine and fabulous cheese while I was there...the pampering was amazing!I can wholeheartedly recommend Alanis. Its an experience, not just a cut and color! Bravo!!! FIVE STARS!!!

Best Groupon Purchase ever!

I loved my experience at Alanis. The staff is very kind and my hairstylist was very attentive and smooth, they take care of you, its very relaxing! The quality is there, I am really happy of the result.

Despite some warnings from other reviewers I went here with a Groupon and they were super accommodating. The entire team was so nice and Nihloo (I am so sorry if I spelled that wrong) was AMAZING. Fast, knowledgeable and an excellent consultant. She knew what I wanted better than I did. My hair looks and feels amazing. The overall cost was more than the groupon total but it was 100% worth it and honestly if you want your hair done well for under 100 dollars you probably won’t get salon quality anyway. They were professional and kind and I felt so confident leaving. Definitely my new regular salon and I have never gone to the same person twice since I’m so picky. Thank you Alanis! I look forward to coming back soon!

Update- The owner (?) not sure who called me and explained that the person on the phone was new and did not know. She said Alanis salon would honor my groupon and that they would get me in earlier at their sister salon. That is the type of bussiness acumen that i do business with. Thank you.Do not buy a groupon deal from this place. I bought a groupon for a Brazilian blowout. Today is May 9th and I called today to schedule my brazilian blowout; the groupon expires June 15th. They said soryy, bcs its a groupon the wait is 1.5 months...next appointment available is June 20th... I tell him my groupon expires June 15th. He says nothing we can do, call groupon. Excuse me??? Uh no. You have to HONOR this groupon or get me a refund..especially since I tried scheduling a month ahead out of courtesy -not bcs it was in the fine print...fine print did not have a time requirement for appointment scheduling-. He did not even try to tell me that “it’s ok...we will honor your groupon...sorry, we are just so backed up”...that would have been a more appropriate response. You will be reported to the business bureau if I don’t get a refund. Horrendous attitude and customer service.

I came into the salon knowing I wanted blond balayage on my black hair. Ive gotten it done before, so I understand it takes time to get to the color I want (previously, it took me 8-10 months)So I showed the stylist what Id like as my end result and told her that I knew this wouldnt happen in 1 trip. I advised on maybe going to a brown first because I knew the blonde wouldnt be possible on the first appointment.Instead of appreciating my patience and understanding, she spoke to me in a very demeaning way and frowned at my hair. She continued on for some 10 or so minutes that with hair as dark as mine, that blonde wouldnt be possible.Long story short, she suggested I think about what I want for my hair. I waited nearly A MONTH to book an appointment I simply got sent home for.Will never be returning to the salon and that makes me sad because Im sure not everyone is as cold and dismissive as Sarah.

Understood that I wasnt going to get the color I was going for, I was ok with that. I was upset I wasnt offered products to my hair light formula since I was over lapping my blonde lights. my hair wasnt even blown dry the way I wanted. it was as if we did everything she wanted. hair cut more like a trim because again thats how she wanted to do things. maybe because I had a Groupon I was treated like I was a bother and a waste of their time. I left crying the way they made me feel. salon needs to work on giving the customer what they want not what the stylist feels like doing. i do plan on posting on all your media. I called the salon to speak with owner no surprise they werent there. so end of story I went home finished blow drying my hair and scheduled an appointment with someone to get my hair cut that I didnt get. even though thats what it said on the Groupon.

I have fine, thin hair that always turns orangy and all the other salons idea of natural highlights turned orange and chunky. EVERYTIME.! After decades of no one understanding how to create natural highlights on thin, fine hair, a friend recommended Rosie at Alanis Salon. She does exactly what I ask. She takes fine individual pcs and creates a beautiful, natural, cool tone. It looks great as it grows out, she never pushes products/treatments. She protects my hair and will not overprocess and her stylists understand that extreme color takes multiple sessions to do it right. When my mom came to visit she went above and beyond to squeeze in her appointment and honored the groupon rate. Its a charming, local salon, that Ive been visiting for a few years now and have not been disappointed. They become like family!

This was my first time coming here and I am very impressed with Bruce. I had a previous balayage done by a different salon and I liked the way it looked. Then, I got a groupon deal and I let the salon choose who they wanted me to get my hair done by. He consulted with me and seemed like he really knew what he was doing. I talked to him about framing my face, blending, etc. He did his thing and by the time it was all done, I couldnt believe how good it looked. I was happy before with my old balayage, but now that I got this one from him, I realized how bad my old one was! I now have the look that I have been looking for my entire young adulthood lol. I have always wanted a very natural look where theres no obvious roots, and looks very natural and blended. Bruce managed to give me this exact look! I looked in the mirror and said in my head, yaaaaaas girl and I cant stop looking in the mirror. Bruce was charming and even though hes quite young, he has a ton of knowledge and skill. A couple things I also really appreciated was that from the time I sat down until the time I left, it was a total of 2 hours. TWO HOURS!! Ive never gotten a color, cut, and style done in such a short period of time; Im normally lucky to get out of a salon within 4 hours! Another thing I love is that my hair doesnt smell like hair dye. Usually my hair stinks for the few days following a color treatment but my hair smells like lightly scented cologne. No more frying my nose hairs with chemical stench days later! Finally, I told Bruce I just wanted a trim, which, normally stylists think 3-4 inches is a trim. Bruce asked me if I wanted 1/2 inch cut off and he showed me with his hands what it would look like. For the first time EVER, someone actually trimmed my hair the way I wanted it to be. I told him I wanted to keep as much length as possible and he was willing to accommodate my request perfectly. Im used to coming home with half of the hair I went in with and I am so glad that he actually listened to me and what I want. He knew what I wanted even though I couldnt articulate it but he knew in his head what would look good on me and the direction that I wanted to go with my hair. So I would definitely recommend Bruce, but as stated before, this was my first appointment so I dont have any opinions about the other stylists there.
